‘The Wire’ Star Wood Harris Won’t Face Charges for Allegedly Beating His Girlfriend

Wood Harris, known for his role as Avon Barksdale on the hit HBO series “The Wire,” — won’t face any criminal charges after allegedly beating his girlfriend.

She is now threatening further legal action.

via TMZ:

The alleged incident went down back in April in Philly, when Harris’ gf of 2 years, Anya Richardson, claimed he flew into a violent rage that landed her in the hospital.

According to a police report, obtained by TMZ, Richardson claimed he struck her multiple times in the stomach, neck and ribs. Richardson also alleged he spat on her face and choked her.

We reached out to Richardson, who tells TMZ … Harris invited her to Philly where he was shooting “Creed II.” She tells us they were in his hotel room when the unprovoked attack allegedly went down.

She says she went to the hospital the next day and reported the incident to police the day after her hospital visit. We spoke to a rep for the Philadelphia D.A.’s Office who tells us … they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt a crime had occurred, so they declined to prosecute.

Richardson’s attorney, Alberto Ebanks, tells TMZ … his client “feels there is little choice but to pursue alternative remedies to help protect other women from the threat of assault.”

A rep for Harris tells TMZ … “The account by this woman is pure fabrication. Wood was never questioned by the authorities and that should speak to the authenticity of the accusation. No further comment.”

When will people learn to keep their hands to themselves?

Reuben Foster’s Ex-Girlfriend Admits She Lied About Him Allegedly Beating Her – Says She Wanted To “End Him”

Elissa Ennis, who accused the San Francisco 49ers player, Reuben Foster, of domestic abuse, came out recently and admitted she lied about the assault for personal and monetary gain. In a report from Mercury News, the woman claims she fabricated the story that her ex-boyfriend physically abused her for the sake of ruining his career and extorting him for money.

During a preliminary hearing at a San Francisco courthouse on Thursday, the accuser was seeing if the case would move forward. Despite her attorney’s best advice to plead the fifth amendment, Ennis told the court that she lied.

The woman said it was all a ruse to sue him for money and destroy his career because she wanted to “ruin him.”

As you may know, Ennis formerly stated that Foster hit her over eight times before dragging her out of the house and throwing the family dog along with her.

She went to the hospital to get treatment for the injuries, which were allegedly due to domestic abuse, including bruises, cuts, and a ruptured eardrum.

Reportedly, the woman said that the true nature of her injuries was because of a traffic accident along with another girl. Video of the fight was uploaded a few weeks later. The Associated Press reports that Ennis wanted to get revenge for his claim that she cheated on him.

During her testimony, she said, “I was pissed and I wanted to end him.” Ennis went on to say, in her own words, “It was all a money scheme,” and admits she didn’t intend for it to become big news.

However, despite her claims to the contrary, the judge thinks there might still be a case, and Ennis is merely backtracking for some unexplained reason, perhaps, a change of heart. Others speculate she is fearful for her life.

Soldiers of Fortune: How 3 Army Vets Allegedly Became International Hitmen

A federal trial that began this week in New York City will determine whether or not three former U.S. soldiers, including an Army sniper with Special Forces training, traveled as mercenaries to the Philippines to kill a real estate agent on behalf of a South African crime lord.

Joseph Hunter, Adam Samia, and David Stillwell are accused of participating in a 2012 contract killing for $ 35,000 each resulting in the murder of Catherine Lee, who the trio’s alleged boss, Paul Le Roux, felt cheated him in a land deal, according to the Associated Press. While Stillwell admits to driving the van Lee was shot twice in, the men deny actually planning or partaking in the killing.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Egan begs to differ. “These men are criminals and they committed brutal murders,” the prosecutor said in the Manhattan courtroom Tuesday, according to the Daily Beast.

The prosecution alleges that Hunter, 52, was doing security for Le Roux — who globally trafficked drugs and weapons — when he recruited Samia and Stillwell from the U.S. to take part in the hit. Hunter equipped them with silenced firearms, Egan said, before they staked Lee out and contacted her pretending to be interested clients.

“If Paul Le Roux wanted somebody killed, these guys got the call,” Egan said, according to the AP. “For these men, more murders meant more money.”

Egan said that as Stillwell drove the van in a rural region outside of the Philippines’ capital, Manila, Samia shot Lee in the face with a .22-caliber firearm while she was seated in the back seat of the vehicle. Egan said the two men dumped her in a mound of trash on the side of a road.

In addition to admitting he drove the van, a photo of a bloody head wrapped in towel was found on Stillwell’s phone around the time Lee was killed, authorities found in an investigation, according to the AP. Prosecutors also say there is video evidence of Hunter discussing hits done for Le Roux, including a real estate broker in the Philippines.

Still, defense attorneys on Tuesday argue that Samia only agreed “to do legitimate, legal security work,” the AP reports. Stillman’s attorney says that he never participated in a murder conspiracy. Hunter’s lawyer said the government lacked enough conclusive evidence to prove his client guilty.

No Charges For Agent Who Allegedly Groped Terry Crews

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Prosecutors have decided not to file charges against a talent agent whom actor Terry Crews said groped him at a Hollywood party.

The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said Adam Venit, an agent at William Morris Endeavor, twice grabbed Crews by the groin, but because there was no contact with his skin, and no restraint involved, the allegations were not a felony.

They sent the case to the Los Angeles city attorney, who prosecutes misdemeanors. The city attorney’s office said Wednesday the statute of limitations for them to prosecute Venit had expired. The party was in February 2016. Crews did not report the incident until November 2017.

Crews has also filed a lawsuit against Venit.

After-hours messages seeking comment from Venit’s office and Crews’ publicist were not immediately returned.

Prison Guard Allegedly Beat Black Inmate for Plans to Marry White Woman

prison

A Florida corrections officer is facing trial for allegedly attacking a Black inmate who was about to marry a White woman.

North West Florida Daily News reports forty-four-year-old Darren Glover was allegedly brutally beaten by 49-year-old Michael Baxter. The CO is being charged with falsifying reports and denying Glover’s right not to endure cruel or unusual punishment.

In a federal court hearing on Wednesday, Baxter’s former secretary Shannon Watts recalled the horror she witnessed at the hands of her former superior in the 2015 incident. According to Watts, Glover and Baxter were in a verbal altercation about Glover’s untied shoes in the previous day’s wedding photo. Watts ran for aid when the confrontation began escalating and became physical.

When she returned, she saw Baxter repeatedly kicking Glover in the head as he attempted to protect himself.

“I kept asking myself if I’m seeing what I’m seeing,” Watts said of the 2015 incident.

Baxter then instructed Watts to close the door.

“I could hear inmate Glover whining and crying through the door,” she said. “He was whining like he was hurt.”

She said she later told him: “‘That n**gger did not need to be marrying a white woman. He needed to be in confinement all along.’”

She assisted him in falsifying his report of the incident. She says she’s still haunted by what she witnessed.

“The crying, the whining — they haven’t been removed,” Watts said. “They are still there. This was eating at me, and I had to get some relief.”

The verdict in the case is expected to be declared in the coming days.

Kenya Moore’s Ex-Boyfriend Allegedly Tried To Kill Her

Sunday night’s episode of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” saw the ladies come together to share their respective experiences with domestic violence.

Kenya Moore tackled the role of producer for a PSA to spread awareness about the widespread issue.

“I decided to produce a PSA on domestic violence to help spread the word on this important issue,” she said during the episode, according to People. “When it comes to domestic violence, you don’t have to look very far to find someone who has been adversely affected by it.”

She kicked off the conversation by recalling the time a violent ex-boyfriend tried to kill her when she was a teenager.

“When I was 16 years old, I dated someone who was 11 years my senior,” she said. “It turned out to be a very physically abusive relationship to the point where I was stabbed, nearly killing me.”

She explained that she still deals with the trauma from that relationship, to this very day.

“Knowing that this day and age — 20, 30 years later — it’s still occurring,” she said. “I really wanted to do something about it.”

NeNe Leakes also shared her experience. “I was abused very young,” she said. “I was dating a guy that was the first guy that ever said I love you. And I took when he said ‘I love you’ to heart. Like, ‘This is love!’ And even when he hit me, I thought, ‘This is love.’ ”

“I stayed in that abusive relationship for really a long time,” Leakes continued. “I ended up having a child from that relationship. And eventually, I was able to get out.”

Shamea Morton and Cynthia’s Bailey’s mom Barbara Morris also gave testimonials.

“His hand went across my face so hard,” Morton alleged, adding that her ex-was jealous and had accused her of cheating on him. “The one pair of fancy shoes that I finally got from him, he knocked me right out of them. My shoes were over here and I was on the ground over there.”

Bailey revealed that she was very young when her mother was going through this.

“Though I was very young when all this was going on, I know that my dad was physically and verbally abusive towards my mom,” Bailey said. “I am proud of my mom because I know this is hard for her to talk about. She grew up in a generation where you just didn’t talk about that stuff. And I know this is a huge opportunity for her to heal from the situation and really really have some closure.”

Moore, Bailey, Kandi Burruss, Sheree Whitfield and NeNe Leakes came together at the end of the PSA to tell viewers, “There is no excuse for abuse.”

Florida Man Arrested After Allegedly Leading Cops to Wife’s Dead Body on Day Before Christmas

A Florida man is being held on a second-degree murder charge after police say he allegedly led them to his wife’s dead body on the day before Christmas, PEOPLE confirms.

According to a news release from police in Titusville, Florida, Timothy Allen Upthegrove was already a person of interest in the disappearance of his wife, Lori Lynn Upthegrove, when he allegedly gave police information that directed them to her body early on Sunday.

Police believe Timothy, 53, killed Lori on Dec. 18 when the couple got into an argument at their home in Titusville. Then, according to allegations in the news release, “the victim’s body was placed into the back of her vehicle by her husband and driven to a wooded area.”

Police did not disclose a cause of death. A spokesperson from the Titusville Police Department tells PEOPLE that the case is still under investigation and that more details will be released at a later date.

Lori, 51, was reported missing on Tuesday by a family member.

“Based on evidence found both in the home and in her vehicle, detectives believed Lori had been the victim of a violent crime,” police said in the release. Timothy was arrested Tuesday on charges of obstructing justice after he allegedly made false statements to police.

In a statement to the Orlando Sentinel, Timothy’s father, Ed Upthegrove, offered his condolences to Lori’s relatives and said that his family is working with law enforcement.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to Lori’s family and friends during this difficult time,” Ed told the newspaper. “We’re cooperating with investigators as they continue to gather evidence in this case.”

PEOPLE confirms that Timothy is being held in the Brevard County Jail without bail. He has not yet entered a plea, and court records do not indicate if he has retained an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

NFL Quarterback Jameis Winston Under Investigation for Allegedly Groping an Uber Driver

(TAMPA, Fla.) — The NFL is investigating an allegation that Jameis Winston groped a female Uber driver in 2016, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has denied the allegation on his social media accounts.

The Buccaneers acknowledged the allegation on Friday and released a statement saying they are in the “process of obtaining further information regarding today’s media report. We take these matters seriously and are fully supportive of the investigation that is being conducted by the NFL.”

The NFL also released a statement saying that it has reached out to Uber to request more information.

The Uber driver told BuzzFeed News the incident stems from a 2 a.m. ride after a party in Scottsdale, Arizona, on March 13, 2016. Driver said Winston was the only passenger, and that he sat in the front seat and was yelling homophobic slurs at pedestrians. She said he then asked the driver to stop for food, and while waiting in a drive-thru, reached over and placed his hand on the woman’s crotch.

A representative for Winston, Russ Spielman, issued a statement denying the allegations. He said the only reason Winston’s name is attached to the allegation is because his Uber account was used to call the ride.

Winston reiterated his denial in postings on Twitter and Instagram on Friday.

“A news organization has published a story about me regarding an alleged incident involving a female Uber driver from approximately two years ago,” the quarterback wrote. “The story falsely accuses me of making inappropriate contact with this driver. I believe the driver was confused as to the number of passengers in the car and who was sitting next to her. The accusation is false, and given the nature of the allegation and increased awareness and consideration of these types of matters, I am addressing this false report immediately. At the time of the alleged incident, I denied the allegations to Uber, yet they still decided to suspend my account.

“I am supportive of the national movement to raise awareness and develop better responses to the concerns of parties who find themselves in these types of situations, but this accusation is false. While I am certain that I did not make any inappropriate contact, I don’t want to engage in a battle with the driver and I regret if my demeanor or presence made her uncomfortable in any way.”

Sylvester Stallone Allegedly Sexually Assaulted a Minor 31 Years Ago

Sylvester Stallone is the most recent actor (and likely not the last) to face allegations of sexual assault. First reported by The Daily Mail and later confirmed by Us Weekly, allegations made by a 16-year-old girl in 1986 allege that Stallone and his bodyguard at the time, Mike De Luca, forcibly coerced her into giving both men oral sex. Later, as stated in the police report filed by the girl, De Luca allegedly forcibly had sex with her while Stallone later allegedly ejaculated in front of her.

More: Another Woman Is Bringing New Allegations Against Ed Westwick

According to Us Weekly, the girl filed a police report at the time the alleged criminal act occurred but that report was seemingly not followed up on. This is evidenced by the fact that this appears to be the first time the public is hearing about it since it happened 31 years ago.

The Daily Mail‘s report states that the girl was invited up to the then 40-year-old actor’s hotel room while he was in Las Vegas. From there, “the 16-year-old claimed she had sex with Stallone and he encouraged De Luca to join them [in his hotel room]. At that point, she became ‘very uncomfortable’ with the encounter but felt she had ‘no choice.’ De Luca then forced the teenager to perform oral sex on him before penetrating her, while Stallone made her give him oral sex, according to the police report.”

Worse still, the girl alleged at the time that the actor threatened her if she told anyone about the incident, allegedly saying that both men were married, implying that it would ruin or destabilize Stallone or De Luca’s personal lives. The phrase reportedly used by Stallone was that he would have to “beat her head in” if she told anyone — a stomach-churning turn of phrase, to be sure.

More: 20 More People Have Accused Kevin Spacey of Sexual Misconduct

In a subsequent interview, which was videotaped, the girl was visibly upset and told authorities at the time, “I’m humiliated and ashamed, but I don’t want to prosecute. I don’t want anybody else to have that happen to them, but I don’t want to prosecute. I cannot talk about this anymore. Please leave me alone.”

In a statement to Us Weekly, reps for Stallone’s stated, “This is a ridiculous, categorically false story. No one was ever aware of this story until it was published today, including Mr. Stallone. At no time was Mr. Stallone ever contacted by authorities or anyone else regarding this matter.”

Teen arrested over hundreds of bomb threats allegedly sold them for $30 on the dark web

TwitterFacebook

An Israeli teenager named Michael Kadar stands accused of sending bomb threats to 245 Jewish Community Centers and schools across the United States. That number — 245 — seems stunningly high, and that might be because he had a list of clients who paid him to make the threats.

What we know from newly unsealed court documents is that Kadar is accused of soliciting his services on AlphaBay, a dark web marketplace where buyers and sellers exchange goods and services that, shall we say, you won’t find on eBay.

The teenager would allegedly email a threat to a school for just 30 bucks, half the price of a newly released video game. He’d add $ 15 to the tab if his client wanted Kadar to frame someone, though the teenager warned potential clients that his “experience” told him that “putting someones name in the emailed threat will reduce the chance of the threat being successful.” Read more…

Taylor Swift will likely take the stand in a case against a DJ who allegedly groped her

Taylor Swift will likely take the stand in a case against a DJ who allegedly groped her

It looks like after approximately two years of litigation, Taylor Swift will finally be taking the stand. The singer-songwriter will likely testify against radio DJ David Mueller, the man accused of groping Swift at a meet-and-greet event in 2013, during civil court proceedings scheduled to begin next week.

Back in 2013, Swift accused Mueller, co-host of KYGO’s Reno and Jackson radio show, of reaching under her skirt and grabbing her bare butt during a backstage photo op at a Swift concert in Denver, Colorado. Immediately following the incident, Swift notified her tour manager and security team, who then tracked down Mueller, removed him and his girlfriend (who was present at the time of the encounter) from the event, and banned him from Swift shows for life.

When Mueller’s employers at KYGO caught wind of the altercation, they promptly fired Mueller, citing the morality clause in his contract after it was revealed he was less-than-truthful about the details of the incident. Out of a job, Mueller claimed he was falsely accused and now seeks $ 3 million in damages.

But T-Swift is not backing down. Just 23 at the time of the assault, the superstar said she was “shocked and distressed by Mueller’s harmful and offensive physical conduct” in court documents. Hoping the case serves as “an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts,” Swift has vowed to donate any monies awarded to her by the court to non-profit organizations “dedicated to protecting women from similar acts of sexual assault and personal disregard.”

This isn’t the first time Swift has spoken out against perpetrators of sexual assault. Last year, Swift gifted pop star Kesha with $ 250,000 in a show of support of the singer in the wake of an unsuccessful lawsuit against her record producer and alleged sexual assailant, Dr. Luke.

We’ve always got your back, Taylor!

Taylor Swift Gets Pre-Trial Victory in Her Legal Battle with DJ Who Allegedly Groped Her

Taylor Swift and her legal team scored a small victory in their legal battle with David Mueller, a former Denver radio host who allegedly groped the singer during a 2013 meet-and-greet.

On Wednesday, a federal judge sanctioned Mueller for destroying multiple electronic devices containing key evidence in the case, according to the Denver Post.

Mueller sued Swift in September 2015 claiming the pop star cost him his job after the Grammy winner claimed he groped her during a meet-and-greet session. In court documents, Mueller admitted Swift had been groped but blamed his “superior” at KYGO, Eddie Haskell.

U.S. District Judge William Martinez has allowed Swift’s attorneys to question Mueller about a two-hour audio recording he taped during an interview with his boss Robert Call, the day before he was fired. In the latest court papers obtained by The Post, Mueller admitted to destroying or losing four electronic devices, including a cellular phone, laptop, iPad and computer.

Mueller gave multiple reasons behind his actions, specifically that he spilled coffee on his laptop’s keyboard. “It was fried,” Mueller said.

Martinez believes the recording is critical evidence due to Call’s claims that Mueller changed his story when he confronted him about Swift’s claim that he assaulted her. Call said that was one of the factors in his decision to fire Mueller in June 2013.

According to court documents from Swift’s October 2015 countersuit previously obtained by PEOPLE, Mueller and his girlfriend were participating in a meet-and-greet in 2013 with Swift when he “intentionally reached under her skirt, and groped with his hand an intimate part of her body in an inappropriate manner, against her will, and without her permission.”

After the alleged incident, Swift was “surprised, upset, offended, and alarmed” and informed her photographer, tour manager, and security team, according to the papers.

A trial date has been set for early August.

Baltimore Child Care Worker Allegedly Caught on ‘Disturbing’ Video Fatally Abusing an 8-Month-Old

A Baltimore woman has been charged with murder for allegedly killing an 8-month old baby girl who was left in her care at a child care center, PEOPLE confirms.

On Tuesday, Reese Bowman was found unresponsive in her crib at a center in Baltimore, police said in a news release. According to local reports, the facility is Rocket Tiers Learning Center, which has the same approximate address as where investigators say Reese was abused.

The girl appeared to not be breathing, and when Baltimore police arrived, employee Leah Walden said she had fed Reese and put her down for a nap. Authorities reportedly performed CPR on Reese and she was taken to a local hospital, where she died.

Surveillance footage obtained by police the following day appeared to contradict Walden’s story, CBS Baltimore reports:

During the center’s nap time, the 23-year-old was filmed allegedly covering the baby’s head with multiple blankets and violently swinging her around the room by her arms and legs.

“Watching that video is disturbing,” Baltimore Police Criminal Investigations Chief Stanley Brandford told the Baltimore Sun. “Reese Bowman, in my opinion, was tortured.”

“At this time, a motive is unknown, but it appears that the baby was awake at the time of the assault,” police said in the news release.

According to CBS Baltimore, there are moments in the video footage where Walden walks off camera with Reese. Baltimore police said one “can only assume” what the 23-year-old did with the child out of view of the camera.

“Just evil,” Chief Brandford told told CBS Baltimore. “What motive could you possibly have to treat a baby that way?”

Walden is charged with first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, second-degree child abuse and reckless endangerment, PEOPLE confirms.

She remains in custody without bond, according to CBS Baltimore. It is unclear at this time whether she has an attorney or if she has entered a plea.

Reese’s family (who could not be reached for comment on Monday) shared their grief in a statement to the Sun.

“Our hearts are broken,” they said. “No family should ever have to experience the loss of a child under any circumstances. We await further information from the unfolding investigation.”

The Sun reports that Walden worked at the child care center for two and a half years and on Rocket Tiers’ website described her work as “rewarding.”

“I have one year of professional childcare experience and six years of part-time babysitting,” her profile reads. “I love seeing the children develop new skills like sitting up, crawling and walking. The best part of being an infant teacher is caring for babies who love me as much as I love them.”

On Wednesday, Rocket Tiers sent an email to parents announcing Reese’s death, the Sun reports. It read, in part, “At this time, it does not appear that there has been any wrongdoing at this point on RTLC. We send our deepest thoughts and condolences to the family and the RTLC community.”

Rocket Tiers did not immediately return a call for comment on Monday.

According to the Sun, the center said it would close to “ensure that our teachers and staff receive grief counseling and that the investigation isn’t disrupted in any way.”

It will reopen “when the time is appropriate.”

Guy Allegedly Poses As Nickelback Member To Get Some Sick Drum Equipment

Look at this photograph.

It is not a photograph of Daniel Adair, drummer for chronically underrated band Nickelback. It is a photo of Lee Howard Koenig, a 45-year-old man from Port St. Lucie, Florida, who is accused of impersonating Adair in an attempt to fraudulently obtain thousands of dollars worth of drumming equipment.

Koenig allegedly used a fake email address — danieladair1975@gmail.com — to contact a company from in Vienna, Austria. Claiming to be Adair, he ordered $ 25,000 worth of equipment to be sent to his residence in Florida, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by The Huffington Post.

He identified himself as Daniel Adair with Nickelback and said that he was looking for some microphones and tried to place an order via an email,” Port St. Lucie Detective Detective Paul Griffith told TC Palm.

One of the company’s reps rightly found the order suspicious and contacted Adair, who confirmed he did not place it. The email address used was not his, and he does live in Florida. Investigators say they were able to determine that the IP address used to send the email came from Koenig.

Koenig is also a drummer. On a public Facebook page identified as his by the Port St. Lucie police, he describes his personal interests as, “PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT TRYING TO GET A PIECE OF ME, HOT FUDGE, FISHING, AND ROCKING THE SHIT ON MY DRUMS.”
