Nicki Minaj Did NOT Send Cardi B A Gift Basket After Giving Birth – Feud Is Still On!

The feud is still on! It looks like the reports Nicki Minaj sent her nemesis Cardi B a congratulatory gift basket after she welcomed her first child, daughter Kulture, were actually fake.

According to an insider, the bad blood between the two rappers is not about to be stopped, not even by a cute, innocent newborn.

‘Nicki has no plans to congratulate Cardi anytime soon on her baby with Offset. Nicki has mixed emotions about the relationship with Cardi, things are really complicated and at times tense between them,’ the source told HollywoodLife.

As you know already, Nicki has been the reigning queen in the rap industry for years, but after Cardi gained unimaginable fame all of a sudden, it looks like she dethroned her!

That being said, the 25-year-old former stripper managed to become only the second female rapper in history to get a number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It was her song Bodak Yellow that helped her reach star status, and ever since then, Cardi has continued to rise higher and higher in the industry.

‘Nicki feels competitive with Cardi and has no need to try to kiss her butt with baby gifts. Nicki wants to keep her edge when it comes to Cardi, so she hasn’t sent over any silver rattles or other gifts for her new baby,’ the source also told the outlet.

It appeared as if the feud was close to its ending after The Blast reported yesterday that Minaj sent Cardi a $ 5K gift basket containing products from high-end West Hollywood children’s shop Petit Tresor.

It was reportedly filled with clothes, plush toys, organic pampering items, top of the line products and a sterling silver rattle.

But it turns out that the gift thing was nothing more than a rumor as TMZ claims they contacted the store and found out neither Nicki nor anyone on her team had bought anything from them.

Pregnant Cardi B’s Baby Registry Is Totally Over the Top!

To be a fly on the wall at Cardi B’s baby shower! The pregnant rapper, who is expecting a little girl with her fiancé Offset next month, registered for some over-the-top items according to a TMZ report published Monday, June 25.

The 25-year-old requested a $ 2,779 bassinet to be “completely covered in gold leaf” for an additional $ 839, per TMZ. Her list also reportedly includes a battery-powered mini Bentley.

Beaba food maker

But the chart-topping artist also asked for more reasonably priced items, such as the $ 179.95 Beaba baby cook set. (The food maker — also a favorite with Lauren Conrad — allows parents to prepare purees and other meals for little ones in just 15 minutes.)

“Doing my registry but i wanna add gifts for myself,” Cardi B tweeted on June 21. “my baby think i need this Gucci dress. Let me stop . . . Ugh I’m so shleepy.”

The expectant mom, who had her shower this past weekend, according to TMZ, opened her presents in front of a large crowd. “I was planning to have 2 baby showers . . . One in NY and one in Atl but my doctor told me i can’t fly nomore,” she shared on June 20. “Now i have to fly 60 people to Atlanta. I always bragged about having 2 big families until now.”

Cardi B confirmed her pregnancy during a Saturday Night Live performance in April. While this is her first child, fellow rapper Offset is already father to sons Jordan and Kody and a daughter, Kalea, from previous relationships.

Could Entrepreneurship Help Cardi B Get a Leg Up on Her Taxes?

Cardi B might have made “money moves” famous, but recently she brought to light what many of us often wonder when we drive over massive potholes, see overflowing public trash bins, or share a train ride with homeless people who seemingly have been forgotten.

What is Uncle Sam doing with our money?

Cardi recently took to social media in a now-viral video, questioning why she has to fork over so much tax money out of her hip-hop superstardom and Mona Scott checks. Billboard reports she was more than annoyed about the 40% tax rate. (Hey, when you start making more income and moving up in those tax brackets, it’s inevitable that you’ll start getting hit in your pockets.)

“Uncle Sam, I want to know what you’re doing with my f—ing tax money,” she says in the video. “You know what I’m saying? When you donate to a kid from a foreign country, they give you updates on what they doing with your donation.”

She also expressed that she doesn’t see proof that tax money is being put to good use: “The streets are always dirty, New York one of the dirtiest cities in America. What is y’all doin’? There’s rats on the damn trains. I know you ain’t spending it in no damn prison because y’all be givin’ n—-s two underwears, one jumpsuit for like five months.”

Fans commented informing the platinum-selling star that the government uses citizens’ taxes to support programs like SSI and the military, but Cardi wasn’t having it: “How do you know tho? where is the prove? My neighborhood still look like s—!”

But what are ways anybody who has enjoyed an increase in income can see more of their money in the bank? One idea: Cardi might need to think about joining the millions of other successful female entrepreneurs of color. (By no means is this direct advisement, but it’s definitely something to look into, especially if Cardi wants to diversify her financial portfolio and build generational wealth that can be sustained for years to come.)

Consider starting a small business that is a pass-through entity. In an interview with Black Enterprise contributor Jeffrey McKinney, Thomas Jones Jr., lead tax partner at McConnell & Jones L.L.P., indicated that “most owners of pass-through entities, including S corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietorships, will see their income tax lowered with a new 20% income reduction calculation. The Act increases the amount of income allowed to be claimed as pass-through from 17.4% to 20%.”

Once you start a business, put in a provision to transfer to your children in your estate plan. “The estate tax, which applies to the transfer of property to decedents, either as a gift or through a will or trust, has been doubled,” Jones cited in the interview. “The basic amount of the exemption for individuals has jumped from $ 5 million to $ 10 million.”

Cardi B Is on the Receiving End of Gang Threats After Dissing Crips on Instagram [Photo]

Cardi B — aka Bardi —  is dealing with a bunch of threats from apparent gang members all because she decided to diss the Crips in an Instagram caption.

via TMZ:

On Monday, Cardi put up a shot of herself rocking a blue fur coat in Minneapolis. Her caption said, “I hate wearing Flue but this coat was too poppin.” It’s that word “Flue” that has her in serious hot water — it’s a way to knock Crips favorite color, blue, without using the actual word.

Cardi’s publicly stated she is a Blood, so the post — which has more than a million likes — pissed off the rival Crips, who not only left angry comments … some flat-out threatened her.

The rapper’s scheduled to come to L.A. for NBA All-Star festivities in about 10 days … and her new enemies know it. One comment said, “@iamcardib this will not be accepted #DONTCOMETOLA.”

Another comment — “Now why you go and do this f**k s**t Cardi. This is literally WestCoast Suicide …. bitch betta get #neutral.”

For what it’s worth — within minutes of us reaching out to Cardi’s people … the “flue” caption was removed. Still no comment from Cardi though.

Cardi, listen — when you elevate you can’t be afraid to leave past behaviors (and affiliations) behind. Or, at least keep those affiliations offline.

Cardi B: I Don’t Have to Say I’m Black, ‘I Expect You to Know It’

Cardi B’s groundbreaking success has proved all her naysayers wrong. Three hit songs in, she shouldn’t have to explain anything to anyone, especially her ethnicity.

The Bronx artist spoke with singer and actress Zendaya for a recently published interview with CR Fashion Book. The two spoke about her fame, her haters and why she feels she shouldn’t have to prove her Blackness.

“One thing that always bothers me is that people know so little about my culture. We are Caribbean people. And a lot of people be attacking me because they feel like I don’t be saying that I’m black. Some people want to decide if you’re black or not, depending on your skin complexion, because they don’t understand Caribbean people or our culture. I feel like people need to understand or get a passport and travel. I don’t got to tell you that I’m black. I expect you to know it.”

While others may not have been shown the light, Cardi’s father made sure his daughter understood her heritage.

“When my father taught me about Caribbean countries, he told me that these Europeans took over our lands. That’s why we all speak different languages. I expect people to understand that just because we’re not African-American, we are still black. It’s still in our culture. Just like everybody else, we came over here the same f**king way, I hate when people try to take my roots from me. Because we know that there’s African roots inside of us. I really just want people to understand that the color that I have and features that I have are not from two white people f**king.”

Joseline Hernandez Teases Video for Cardi B Diss Track

Love and Hip Hop ATL Joseline

Reality star Joseline Hernandez released a diss track meant for R&B rapper Cardi B, and the internet is not here for it.

“Hate Me Now” is described as a “scathing diss” that backfired, by Hollywood Life.

The 31-year-old former Love & Hip Hop star is currently being dragged online for her new song, which features the lyrics, ” … dray a Bronx bit** yeah I said it/Fabricated, illustrated, cartoon a** bit**, bloody my a***! Who the f**k cosigned this hoe?”

The self-proclaimed “Puerto Rican pricess’s” “bloody” line was reportedly a reference to Cardi B’s now famous like from her No. 1 hit, “Bodak Yellow.” The the song the New York artist says, “These expensive, these is red bottoms /  These is bloody shoes.”

The two ladies have a bit of history. They both are former strippers and landed gigs on the VH1 franchise, both having dreams of making it big in the music industry.

Needless to say, Cardi B is a major success, having landed a record deal with Atlantic before making her exit from the show. She was even nominated for Best New Artist at last year’s BET Awards.

Cardi B working to make a better future

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B is working hard to make things better for her future children.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker is doing all she can now with her career so she can make things better for her future kids as she doesn’t want them to be raised the way she was and wants to be able to give them all she can.
She said: “This is my work ethic: I do not want to raise my future kids where I was raised, and I know the only way to do it is working, working, working, working, working. I don’t want to live in a small Bronx apartment. I don’t want to have three kids that got to share one room. I don’t want my kids to go to school and get gang-affiliated. I don’t want to do welfare. I don’t.”
And Cardi can’t believe so many people look up to her.
She added to Billboard magazine: “When women come up to me like, ‘I am a freaking senator,’ or, ‘I’m a doctor’. It’s like, ‘Damn, y’all like me? I look up to y’all!’ It’s not that people want to be like me, but some want to say the things I say and can’t, because they’re afraid. I say it for them.”
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old rapper previously vowed to set a “better example” to her fans.
She said: “I realised, after Halloween, a lot of little girls, they be looking up to me. They love me and I’m thinking to myself, like, ‘Yo, I really need to be a better example.’ But I be trying to be a better example, though, you know what I’m saying? I’ve been trying to be more PG-13, less rated R.”

Reports: Cardi B Behind $4.5 Million Christian Louboutin Media Value Over 200%

Talk about #BlackGirlMagic and the power of hip-hop culture. Cardi B, a popular reality TV star turned mega hit rapper, can add yet another accomplishment to her platinum-selling resume: boosting interest in the iconic shoe brand astronomically, almost overnight.

According to a recent Business of Fashion report, Belcalis “Cardi B” Almanzar has created an estimated $ 4.5 million media value this year for the brand after releasing the radio banger “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” and there’s been a massive 217% spike in web searches for Christian Louboutin shoes since summer.

(Image: Instagram/iamcardib)

The 25-year-old female lyricist raves about the “red-bottom” “bloody shoes” in the song, and, like it or not, it’s a song hard to escape, whether it was played during your favorite morning radio show or mimicked in your nephew’s latest Snapchat. Cardi B has taken the hit from the small nightclub stages to the MoMa to the Puerto Rican Day Parade and beyond. Black Hollywood heavyweights including Taraji P. Henson, Idris Elba, and Kevin Hart have raved about the song and Cardi and music icon Janet Jackson set the crowd and social media ablaze when she added the song to her concert set.

The song has continued its momentum from summer into fall, winning the BET Hip Hop Award for Best Single of the Year last month and breaking a No. 1 Billboard chart record that Lauryn Hill had held since the late 1990s. Black Enterprise cover girl and Uber Chief Brand Officer Bozoma Saint John even blasted the song at AfroTech.

One celeb not so hip to the game is Christian Louboutin himself. He recently told The New York Times he’s “not a big rap person,” but said he’d be open to meeting the Trini-Dominican-American star someday.

As for a direct sales boost correlation, the verdict’s still out. However, Deloitte reports that 20.5% of millennials look to social media and more than 15% to the web to get informed about a high-end item before purchasing. Also, Nielsen reported that black women, in particular, spend more time watching live TV, listening to the radio, and using multimedia devices than the whole U.S. female population; they are trendsetters and contribute tremendously to pushing black buying power closer to a record $ 1.5 trillion; and they have “enjoyed steady growth in population, incomes, and educational attainment.”

Based on the stats, one can assume that if many power women of color hear “Bodak Yellow” enough times, they might actually be prompted to give that Louboutin pump at least a second look when splurging for the holidays—or get that good sister-girlfriend to pick them up a few sample-sale pairs to go under the tree.

[WATCH] Cardi B. and Offset Are Engaged After He Proposes Live at Powerhouse Philly

Now this is real life ‘Love and Hip Hop!’ Rappers Cardi B. and Offset are officially engaged! Earlier tonight during their performance at Powerhouse Philly, Offset of rap trio Migos, got on bended knee and proposed to his special lady, Cardi B. The duo, both 25, confirmed their relationship earlier this year after they were spotted coupled up attending a Superbowl party together. The “Bodak Yellow” femcee opened up briefly about her relationship with the ‘Slippery,’ rapper during an interview on Angie Martinez back in March of this year:

“He’s a good person. And you want to know something? [Offset] makes me feel very motivated, and he is supportive of my career.”

During that same interview, Cardi also opened up wanting children by 27, and her fear of marriage after almost getting married to her ex, who is currently incarcerated.

“Marriage is something that is scary to me. Two years ago, I was going to marry [my ex Tommy.] Inside [jail] too. But my friend told me, ‘Cardi, you know that if you guys decide to get divorced, half of your money is his. Or if you guys are still together, and he has a kid, you have to pay the child support.’ And I was like, ‘Hold up, I work too hard!’ But it almost went down!’”

Fast forward seven months later and it appears all that fear and pride has been placed aside! Cardi is officially engaged. From breaking records on Billboard to becoming a power couple with Offset, it’s safe to say that Cardi B. is having the best year ever — and the year ain’t even over yet!

Cardi B Says She Will Take Any Top Rapper’s Flow And Make It Better

Cardi B is nothing if not confident, and she expressed some of that boldness over the weekend during the second annual Fall Ball concert in Columbia, South Carolina. The Bronx rapper went full Cardi while onstage and hit back at critics who say she mimicked Kodak Black’s flow by essentially saying she’s going to copy the style of all the top rappers in the game and “body it.”

Cardi B went into her rant during a pause in her set at Fall Ball that was captured and posted via social media, addressing the chatter as only she can.

“For anybody that telling me ‘oh bitch you copied Kodak flow, you copied this and that flow,’ So what, b*tch? So what? I’m a sound like all your favorite rappers. I’m a take all they flows and I’m a body it, b*tch,” Cardi said to loud applause.

She then added she’d take on Meek Mill and Migos’ rhyme styles as well. We’re pretty sure Cardi was just clowning as it’s no biting allowed in the game. The “Bodak Yellow” artist also mentioned that she’s dropping a freestyle verse for her birthday on Oct. 11. All ears will be on that one, we’re sure.

Check out Cardi B telling the Fall Ball crowd she’ll body your faves’ flow in the clip below.

Rihanna Just Gave Cardi B a Most Enviable Congratulatory Gift

Cardi B‘s week just got better.

After her hit single “Bodak Yellow” reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts, the 24-year-old rapper received a slew of congratulations on social media, even flowers from the dethroned Taylor Swift herself.

But on Thursday night, she shared an Instagram story video that would make any Rihanna fan jealous.

“Look what I got!” she yelled off camera, showing off enviable amounts of make-up from the “Work” singer’s Fenty Beauty collection.

“I know you make-up artists is jealous,” Cardi B added.

The rapper was treated to flowers by Swift a day after she knocked down “Look What You Made Me Do” to No. 3 on the Billboard charts.

Cardi B shared a picture of the gift on Instagram, writing, “Sooo beautiful and lovely. Thank you @taylorswift for the flowers 💐❤️❤️…. and I freaking love your music 🎶.”

“That was so beautiful; such a sweetheart,” Cardi B told PEOPLE Tuesday in Brooklyn. “I’ve always been a fan. When I knew it was me and her competing for that No. 1 spot, I was like, ‘Oh why it have to be Taylor Swift?!’ I love her. I don’t really like saying, ‘Knock her off’ — she knocked everybody off!”

Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” Hot 100-topping single is only the second song by an unaccompanied female rapper to ever top the chart, joining Lauryn Hill’s 1998 track, “Doo Wop (That Thing).”

She’s also the first female rapper of color to appear on a No. 1 hit since Lil’ Kim collaborated with P!nk, Mya, and Christina Aguilera for 2001’s “Lady Marmalade.”

Watch: Teacher Raps Geography Version of Cardi B’s ‘Bodak Yellow’ and the Kids Can’t Get Enough [Video]

Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” is taking over.

Not only is the song sitting at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, but Cardi’s banger is SO popular that teachers are using it to help educate the kids.

Brooklyn educator Erica Buddington shared a video earlier this week of herself rapping “Bodak Yellow” with a geographic twist to her 6th grade class at Capital Prep Harlem — the school that was opened by Diddy last year.

Take a look:

Erica took it a step further and shared the lyrics to the song AND some notes about its positive reception.

It wasn’t long before Cardi B herself caught wind of Erica’s remix.
