Engineered Garments Mixes Sportswear, Workwear & Military Influences for Barbour Collaboration

Following on from a reissued capsule with Vans, New York-based Engineered Garments is back with another collaboration. Teaming up with BarbourDaiki Suzuki‘s label has reworked pieces from the British brands archive with influences coming from American sportswear, workwear and functional military clothing.

The capsule consists of five different outerwear silhouettes — the Cowen, Dumbo, Parka, Graham and Cape — with each one constructed from waxed black waxed cotton with detailing in navy, black and olive. Standout pieces include the oversized parka, the Dumbo — a mix between an MA-1 bomber and a varsity jacket — and the Cape, which is an updated version of a military policeman’s cape. The full collection will release at Barbour’s London flagship on August 6, with prices ranging from £349 to £599 (approx. $ 460 USD to $ 795 USD).

Riccardo Tisci Sets Collaboration With Vivienne Westwood at Burberry

LIVING INSPIRATION: Riccardo Tisci has offered up yet another clue to his design aesthetic for Burberry, with the revelation on Friday of a December capsule collection he’s planning with Vivienne Westwood for Burberry. This is the second time in three months that Burberry’s chief creative officer has dropped a hint on Instagram about his intentions for the brand.
“Vivienne was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer myself,” Tisci wrote on Instagram. “I am SO honored to announce a new Burberry collaboration with the original British Punk.”
Burberry confirmed that the capsule will feature re-imagined iconic pieces from the brand’s vast archive, and Westwood is undoubtedly planning to put her subversive spin on the British heritage label.
The collection will launch in December, with proceeds going towards Cool Earth, a non-profit organization whose mission is to halt rainforest deforestation.
“When I first started at Burberry, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something. She is a rebel, a punk and unrivalled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. I am so incredibly proud of what we will be creating together,” Tisci said.

After continuously sharing ideas and meeting in different places across the globe, the longtime friends finally decided to create something together. “We would travel to Bombay and to Hong Kong, pick up references from each place and talk about all the different dresses we wanted to design and where each style would work,” said Lodha, whose label, Saloni is best known for its vibrant, printed dresses.

The capsule channels the same fantasy-filled aesthetic that Niarchos’ jewelry is known for: There are tiger prints that pay homage to her spirit animal, sequin dresses and midi skirts reflecting her love of mermaids and intricately embroidered pieces that reflect on both designers’ fascination with India.

Rimowa Unveils Second Installment of Fendi Collaboration

TAKE TWO: Rimowa has unveiled the second installment of its collaboration with Fendi.
The sleek aluminum cabin trolley, launched last November, will go on sale this month in two new colors, blue and red. The earlier black-and-yellow version was featured in Fendi’s travel-themed men’s ready-to-wear show in January.
Like its predecessor, the case displays the double F logo with a brushed effect, which changes depending on the light, as well as Cuoio Romano leather handles on the top and side, and a web belt that runs across the case. A new leather Airbag charm, shaped like a paper airplane, has Fendi’s signature Bag Bugs eyes.

The novelty is that the cases will be among the first to feature Rimowa’s new visual identity, unveiled earlier this year to coincide with the brand’s 120th anniversary. Personalization options include stickers and a customizable leather name tag that snaps onto the external belt.
Fendi, which like Rimowa belongs to French conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, was the first brand to collaborate with the German luggage maker following the arrival of luxury scion Alexandre Arnault as chief executive officer.
Rimowa has also made limited-edition suitcases with Supreme, Off-White and graphic design duo M/M Paris.

Hunting World’s Collaboration With Artist Daniel Arsham Hits Stores

American brand Hunting World’s collaboration with New York-based contemporary artist Daniel Arsham is hitting stores.
The exclusive six-item capsule collection will be exclusively available at Comme Des Garçons-owned Dover Street Market stores in London, Tokyo, New York and Beijing, as well as at Kith in Los Angeles and New York, starting from May 26. On the same day both doors will also launch the merchandise on their respective online shops.
The capsule was extended to a full-look offering, in time for its retail debut, although a preview was teased at the brand’s fall men’s show in Milan last January.
The collection features a T-shirt, a hoodie, a baseball cap and a coach jacket along with a duffel bag and a carry-all style, both priced at $ 1,980. With a streetwear and easy attitude, the collection’s items are splashed with both the brand’s and the artist’s logos, the latter coming under the AA tag. The apparel pieces will retail at between $ 140 for the T-shirt and $ 460 for the hoodie.

Kanye West Announces Release Dates for a New Solo Album and Kid Cudi Collaboration

Kanye West’s Twitter comeback has finally yielded the good news we’ve all been waiting for.

The rapper, whose recent string of tweets are set to become a book (supposedly), teased his musical return on Thursday. West started by simply writing on Twitter, “My album is 7 songs.” He followed up by sharing the date of June 1.

But that’s not it! The 21-time Grammy winner, whose last album The Life of Pablo was released in Feb. 2016, revealed that just one week later he’d be dropping a collaboration album with Kid Cudi under the group name Kids See Ghost.

The collaboration between West and Cudi is notable considering the former label-mates had been going back-and-forth at each other in 2016, before eventually squashing their beef.

Representatives for the two rappers didn’t immediately respond to EW’s request for further comment.

West kept the release date news rolling, revealing that other GOOD Music artists Pusha T (May 25) and Teyana Taylor (June 22) also have forthcoming albums.

Moschino, who took the “cheap and chic” ethos to a literal level with a diffusion line of the same name, is getting back into the high-low game with an H&M collaboration unveiled in the wee hours of its annual Saturday night party during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The tie-up was made in a surprise reveal during the annual dance party at the Corona Yacht Club near the festival grounds, just after midnight. Designer Jeremy Scott, who presided over the star-studded party, his 12th turn at the festival, should have no trouble translating his Moschino designs into less expensive and just as cheerful versions for the Swedish fast-fashion retailer.
Every year, fashion lovers and bargain hunters alike anticipate news of H&M’s latest designer collaboration the way sports fans wait for draft day. It’s hard at this point, after 16 years of the high-low mash-ups — the first of which was with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004 — to say which collaboration has been the most spot-on. The Moschino effort may just be one of the more popular, judging from the way fans have snapped up Scott’s designs since he took over as creative director in 2013.

The shoes, as their name suggests, also employ the Swoosh’s latest and greatest cushioning technology, React. To refresh your memory, Off-White’s Creative Director Virgil Abloh took inspiration from Princess Diana to add a dose of his trademark cool to the SS18 line, which also marks the first time the iconic designer shoe brand has teamed up with a ready-to-wear label.

The footwear collection is a perfect nod to the late Princess’s signature 90s style (she was a fan of the brand), mixed in with Abloh’s minimalist DNA, which will satisfy the more modernist fans.

Think knee-high boots wrapped in black tulle, and pointy stilettos surrounded by PVC, basically the 2018 version of Cinderella’s glass slipper.

‘To collaborate with a brand like Off-White™ allows Jimmy Choo to explore a new avenue and take part in a different conversation,’ Sandra Choi, Creative Director Jimmy Choo says. ‘I love to mix it up by getting together with a different creative mind identifying our synergies and combining our DNA to create a beautiful and surprising collection with unexpected links to the roots of our brand.’

Nars Unveils First Collaboration With Erdem

MORALIOGLU’S MAKEUP: Nars unveiled its first collaboration with Erdem during London Fashion Week at the designer’s fall 2018 show held at the Tate Britain on Monday. The range will be available for purchase on April 15 in the U.K.
“It was really interesting to explore my aesthetic in collaboration with Nars and see how far we could push different elements through color and product,” said Erdem. “It was fascinating to develop new pigments and palettes as well as the cosmetics themselves.”
Inspired by strange flowers, the collection has been in the making for a long time, according to the brand’s spokeswoman, who noted Erdem’s penchant for makeup. The designer has been hands-on in the process and his involvement led the brand to launch items it has never produced before, such as a lip powder palette.
The 13-piece Erdem for Nars Strange Flowers collection consists of products for the cheeks, eyes and lips and comes in floral packaging. The price range is 15 pounds for blotting papers to 35 pounds for lip or eye shadow palettes. The range will be sold in Selfridges on April 15 and nationwide May 1.
Nars has been crafting the beauty looks for the designer’s shows since 2013.

AFTER MIDNIGHT: In addition to an eye for emerging talent, Browns knows how to throw a good party.
To celebrate the launch of its exclusive capsule with designer-of-the-moment Michael Halpern, the retailer invited the London Fashion Week crowd to the famous burger joint Five Guys.
It might not have been their usual hangout, but attendees — including Aymeline Valade, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Mary Charteris and performer Honey Dijon — seemed to enjoy the change of atmosphere and the refreshingly laid-back vibe.
They ate burgers at the silver tinsel-covered booths, drank beers and milkshakes, took selfies with the disco balls that were scattered across the venue and danced until the early hours — a rarity at fashion parties — to performances by the band HMLTD and DJ Kim Ann Foxman.

Fiorucci owners Janie and Stephen Schaffer said of the glasses in a statement: “Fiorucci started collaborating in the Sixties and Seventies, long before the idea of a fashion collaboration was common. MINI ME: Gap Kids and Sarah Jessica Parker have linked on a limited-edition collection for spring.
The collection will be sold online and in some of the company’s stores throughout the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Italy, China, Hong Kong and Japan.
The company revealed the news Friday, offering few details beyond that. It’s unclear what size range the collection would encapsulate or at what pricing. This isn’t the first time Parker has worked with Gap Inc., having previously appeared in campaigns for the company’s Gap brand in the past.

A Closer Look at J.W.Anderson’s Collaboration With Converse

After first appearing as part of his show at Florence’s Pitti Uomo back in June, official images of J.W.Anderson‘s collaboration with Converse have now been released. The joint pack contains four different takes on the Chuck Taylor All Star, with two featuring an all-over print of the J.W.Anderson logo, while another comes in blue/red/green glitter. As well as the All Stars, the collection features a black low-top sneaker and a more experimental green and black sneaker which, notably, is considerably more hi-top than your average Converse. At the moment there’s no official confirmation of an exact drop date, but the J.W.Anderson Logo Converse are set to release some time in September from the designer’s web store, while the Glitter Converse will be releasing at some point in December.

If that’s piqued your interest, as well as collaborating with Converse, J.W.Anderson has also been working with Uniqlo on a full collection that includes everything from winter-ready outerwear to bags and accessories.

If you haven’t been able to focus on anything since you saw the Louis Vuitton x Supreme collaboration hit the runway earlier today, we can imagine you’re very anxious to get your hands on a piece (or 10!) and we’re here to help.

The storied Parisian fashion house teamed up with the legendary N.Y.C. skateboarding brand for its fall 2017 menswear collection of pieces all donning the “LV x Supreme mashup” monogram pattern. And what you saw on the runway isn’t even everything in the collection. Louis Vuitton’s menswear artistic director Kim Jones, told Vogue the plan is to “drop the bags in different colors in different places at different times.” While it’s not clear when pieces will become available, what we do know is that you can start evoking the style of the collab right now, with these very inexpensive buys.
