Denzel Curry Drops the Full Version of ‘TAI300’

For the past few days, Denzel Curry has been releasing parts of his new album TAI300 as EPs. Most recently, he released the full LP to streaming platforms. The 13-song album features guest appearances from Goldlink, Billie Eilish, J.I.D, JPEGMAFIA, Nyyjerya, Twelve’len and ZillaKami. Plus production from from FnZ, DJ Dahi, Ronny J, Illmind, Charlie Heat and Mickey De Grand IV, and more. On his new album, Curry sings more than usual and he explains the importance of melodies in today’s music scene.

“The reason why I sing on most of the songs on this record is because you have to realize that melody is what wins,” says Curry in a recent interview. “Melody wins every time. Melody is always gonna win. That’s why I started singing more on this record. When I was just straight up rapping, I feel like everyone wasn’t paying attention as much, but the moment I started singing, case in point, ‘Clout Cobain,’ it affected more people.”

TAI300 is out now on Loma Vista and stream the full album below.

Stephen Curry sends a message to LeBron and rest of NBA

Right now, the state of the NBA can be distilled into one sentence. Even after the Lakers signed LeBron James, with a potential Kawhi Leonard trade hanging over everything, with the Rockets having pushed Golden State to 7 games sans-Chris Paul in the Western Conference Finals, the Warriors are still the team to beat. Stephen…

‘No One Wants the Invite Anyway.’ LeBron James and Steph Curry Say Their Teams Won’t Visit White House

(CLEVELAND) — Stephen Curry and LeBron James spoke their minds last year. They have not changed their minds this year.

No matter whose team wins the NBA championship, neither superstar will be at the White House anytime soon.

On the day when the Philadelphia Eagles were supposed to be there to commemorate winning the Super Bowl — a visit that was canceled by President Donald Trump and had the White House accusing players who weren’t planning on attending of abandoning their fans — Curry and James were among those speaking out at the NBA Finals in support of the Eagles.

“I’m not surprised. It’s typical of him,” James, the Cleveland star, said of Trump’s decision to cancel. “I know no matter who wins this series, no one wants the invite anyway. So it won’t be Golden State or Cleveland going.”

On the eve of Game 3 of the Warriors-Cavaliers series, politics dominated the conversation.

Curry raised Trump’s ire last year when he said he wouldn’t go to the White House, prompting the President to disinvite him and the champion Golden State Warriors.

Curry said Tuesday that he spoke with a current Eagles player about the team’s decision-making process and how it went deeper than disagreeing with Trump policies and the ongoing issue of some NFL players choosing not to stand for the pregame playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

“It’s an important conversation, but you can’t control what other people try to do, or try to control the narrative or things like that,” Curry said.

Curry said the team has been on the same page after his comments last year and Trump’s subsequent revoking of the Warriors’ invitation. “And every team that’s won a championship since then has gone through that.”

There has been clear tension between many star athletes and the current administration throughout the Trump presidency. Trump has often blasted the NFL players who have kneeled for the national anthem, a protest that started in 2016 when San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick did so to protest racism and more specifically the killing of black men by police.

Trump said the Eagles’ event was called off because some of their players “disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country.”

No Eagles players kneeled during the anthem last season.

“Instead the decision was made to lie, and paint the picture that these players are anti-America, anti-flag and anti-military,” the Eagles’ Malcolm Jenkins wrote in a statement posted to social media Tuesday .

The WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx haven’t been invited to celebrate their most recent title, something James called “laughable.” Villanova, the reigning NCAA men’s champion, has not revealed if an invitation was sent. Many members of the U.S. Olympic Team that competed earlier this year in South Korea did not attend a White House reception.

Hockey’s Pittsburgh Penguins and baseball’s Houston Astros have accepted invitations to the White House for the traditional meeting with the President in recent months, as have several college teams. When the New England Patriots went last year, half the team chose not to attend.

The Warriors, in lieu of going to the White House, spent that day taking a group of children to the National Museum of African American History and Culture a few miles away.

“I think the President has made it pretty clear he’s going to try to divide us, all of us in this country, for political gain,” said Golden State coach Steve Kerr, who has often criticized Trump and his policies. “So it’s just the way it is. I think we all look forward to the day when we can go back to just having a celebration of athletic achievement and celebrate Americans for their achievement, their good deeds.”

Kerr also lauded the Eagles for being what he called “fantastic citizens in their own community.”

“It will be nice when we can just get back to normal in three years,” Kerr said.

The overwhelming issue surrounding the Eagles’ planned visit was that most of the team was not going to attend, and that was a major factor in Trump deciding to pull the invitation.

“What else do you expect Trump to do?” Golden State’s Kevin Durant said. “When somebody says they don’t want to come to the White House, he disinvites them. So the photo op don’t look bad. We get it at this point. But it’s good that guys are sticking to what they believe in and what they want to do. Like guys said before me, I’m sure whoever wins this series won’t be going.”

Michael Curry, Pioneering Bishop, To Speak At Royal Wedding

Presiding bishop Michael Curry of the American Episcopal Church will give a sermon at the royal wedding this Saturday, May 19. Kensington Palace confirmed on Twitter last Saturday that “Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have asked that The Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry, the 27th Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church, will give the address at their wedding.” He will join the dean of Windsor, the Rt. Rev. David Conner, and the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who will officiate the service.

Although Prince Harry and Markle do not have a personal relationship with the reverend, the couple decided on Curry after discussions with the Archbishop of Canterbury, according to UK’s Telegraph. Curry, 65, is described as a “high energy” evangelical preacher who shook up the face of Episcopalianism.

History Maker

In November 2015, the Episcopal Church, historically one of the faiths of the nation’s white elite, installed Michael Bruce Curry as a presiding bishop over its 1.8 million members, becoming the denomination’s first African American spiritual leader.

The love that has brought and will bind Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle together has its source and origin in God, and is the key to life and happiness,” Curry said.

Curry has backed same-sex marriage and racial reconciliation. In his 2015 autobiography, Songs my Grandma Sang, Curry revealed that he and his family are descendants of slaves and sharecroppers in North Carolina and Alabama.

Curry has been active on social justice issues throughout his ministry, including speaking out on immigration policy and supporting marriage for same-sex couples, according to his biography on the Episcopal Church’s website.

Taking A Stand

In 2016, after the archbishops of the Anglican Communion imposed three-year sanctions on the Episcopal Church for its decision to allow clergy to perform same-sex marriages, Curry said the church will not roll back its acceptance of gay marriage. Anglican leaders then stripped the Episcopal Church of any role in deciding doctrine or determing how the Anglican Communion operates for three years.

They heard from me directly that that’s not something that we’re considering,” Curry told NBC News. “They basically understand we made our decision, and this is who we are, and we’re committed to being a house of prayer for all.”

Curry was born in 1953 in Chicago to Dorothy Curry and Rev. Kenneth Curry, who was a Baptist before becoming an Episcopalian priest. He said his father became part of the church after he and his mother had been allowed to drink from the same chalice being passed among white parishioners in racially segregated Ohio.

‘It Hurt Like Hell.’ Ann Curry Opens Up About Leaving NBC’s Today Show

Five years after leaving the Today show, Ann Curry is revealing how she made it through dark times — and her life away from the morning grind.

Sitting down exclusively with PEOPLE for this week’s issue (on stands Friday), the anchor opens up for the first time about her exit from the NBC morning show in 2012, an ordeal that came complete with gossip-column speculation that her firing had been due in part to a lack of “chemistry” with her co-anchor Matt Lauer. (Lauer, 60, was fired in November for alleged sexual misconduct.)

After her tearful farewell on June 28, 2012 — “I’m sorry I couldn’t carry the ball over the finish line, but, man, I did try!” she said at the time — Curry, 61, who has won seven Emmys, interviewed world leaders, covered natural disasters and reported from war zones, was suddenly adrift.

“It hurt like hell,” she says. “It hurt so much, but I learned a lot about myself. I can say I’ve done nothing wrong. I’ve been honest and true. I’ve tried to stay pure. I’ve tried to not respond in a knee-jerk manner, and I’ve stayed very close to who I am. So it hurt, but I’m also proud of myself.”

Curry — who began as an intern at an Oregon NBC affiliate and worked her way up to Today‘s couch, earning a reputation for being earnest and empathetic — stayed remarkably mum after her co-hosting gig with Lauer ended after barely a year.

“Experience has taught me, as a journalist, the No. 1 thing you have to be is humble,” she says. “It’s not about you.”

And the mother of two, who returns to TV on Jan. 23 with the new six-part PBS docuseries We’ll Meet Again, isn’t fueled by bitterness toward her former bosses.

Diddy and Stephen Curry Want to Buy the North Carolina Panthers

Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, who is being investigated for alleged workplace misconduct, announced that he’ll sell the team after the 2018 season is completed. The new owner will be determined after what is sure to be a lucrative and lengthy bidding process, but hip-hop mogul Diddy has already said that he wants to purchase the team. And two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry, who is from North Carolina and is a huge Panthers fan, said he wants in on the deal.

Diddy noted on Twitter that there are no majority owners in the NFL who are African-American.

Curry responded to Diddy’s tweets with a succinct message of his own.

In a video he posted to Instagram shortly after the initial Tweet, Diddy said that one of his first orders of business would be to sign Colin Kapernick. Kaepernick remains a free agent despite throwing 16 touchdowns and four interceptions last season, and there’s belief that the reason he remains unsigned is because of his activism both on and off the field. Kaepernick is credited with starting the movement to protest racial injustice during the national anthem before NFL games.

Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, has amassed a fortune worth $ 820 millionthrough multiple business ventures on top of his music career. Diddy is the founder of Bad Boy Records, the Sean John clothing line and vodka manufacturer Ciroc.

Forbes valued the Panthers at $ 2.3 billion, meaning Combs, a native New Yorker, would likely have to partner with other investors to buy the team. Diddy and Curry are a duo that will certainly garner headlines, but it is unclear whether other NFL owners would sign off on having a current NBA player own part of a team.

Diddy wouldn’t be the first hip-hop star to invest in a sports franchise. Jay-Z famously owned a small portion of the Brooklyn Nets before he sould his share in order to avoid a conflict of interest with the sports agency he was founding, Roc Nation Sports.

Stephen Curry Thinks Trump Is An Asset, Minus The ‘-et’

He’s the golden boy of the Golden State Warriors, but that doesn’t mean he has to be a fan of President Donald Trump.

Stephen Curry used some choice words when asked by the The Mercury News Wednesday about pro-Trump comments made by Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank the day before.

Plank had called Trump a real “asset” to the country in an interview with CNBC. And Curry, who is the closest thing Under Armour has to a face of its brand, agreed with him somewhat, albeit with an important tweak.

“I agree with that description,” Curry said, “if you remove the ‘et’.”

The two-time NBA MVP added that his relationship with Plank is all business ― and he believes Plank’s comments regarding Trump are, too. But he wouldn’t hesitate to walk away from a company if it no longer reflected his values.

“Every opportunity I have to show love, to show respect, to show just that positivity, I feel like that’s my job and that’s what I stand for,” he said.
