[WATCH] Cardi B. and Offset Are Engaged After He Proposes Live at Powerhouse Philly

Cardi

Now this is real life ‘Love and Hip Hop!’ Rappers Cardi B. and Offset are officially engaged! Earlier tonight during their performance at Powerhouse Philly, Offset of rap trio Migos, got on bended knee and proposed to his special lady, Cardi B. The duo, both 25, confirmed their relationship earlier this year after they were spotted coupled up attending a Superbowl party together. The “Bodak Yellow” femcee opened up briefly about her relationship with the ‘Slippery,’ rapper during an interview on Angie Martinez back in March of this year:

“He’s a good person. And you want to know something? [Offset] makes me feel very motivated, and he is supportive of my career.”

During that same interview, Cardi also opened up wanting children by 27, and her fear of marriage after almost getting married to her ex, who is currently incarcerated.

“Marriage is something that is scary to me. Two years ago, I was going to marry [my ex Tommy.] Inside [jail] too. But my friend told me, ‘Cardi, you know that if you guys decide to get divorced, half of your money is his. Or if you guys are still together, and he has a kid, you have to pay the child support.’ And I was like, ‘Hold up, I work too hard!’ But it almost went down!’”

Fast forward seven months later and it appears all that fear and pride has been placed aside! Cardi is officially engaged. From breaking records on Billboard to becoming a power couple with Offset, it’s safe to say that Cardi B. is having the best year ever — and the year ain’t even over yet!

Jeff Brazier and Kate Dwyer engaged

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeff Brazier and Kate Dwyer are engaged.
The 38-year-old television presenter got down on one knee to ask his long-term girlfriend for her hand in marriage whilst the sun was rising over Ibiza.
Sharing details about the moment he proposed, Jeff revealed: “We walked out to the end of a jetty and sat on a wall that formed a harbour for the local fishing boats. Kate talked about how special the moment was, how relaxed and happy she felt, and I thought, ‘Let’s do it now.’ I told her I loved her, and had been thinking about this for a while. I pulled the box with the ring out from my back pocket and asked if she would marry me. It was a very special moment.”
But before he asked Kate, Jeff wanted to get the approval of his sons Bobby, 14, and Freddie, 13, who he has with his late partner Jade Goody.
He added: “Both boys were intrigued by how it would work, how I’d do it. They said, ‘What will you do, Dad, if she says no?’ I said, ‘I don’t want to be complacent, but I think we’re alright. The boys will be my best men [at the wedding]. It means a lot to me, for them to be such a huge part of the wedding.”
And Kate admits it was a complete shock when he got down on one knee.
She told HELLO! magazine: “He was very good at putting me off the scent. Every time I mentioned it, he’d say, ‘Nah, that’s a few years off.’ So when it came to it, it was all a bit of a blur. He gave me a kiss, and as soon as I saw the box I lost it. I’ve thought about this moment my whole life and you don’t know how you’ll react. But I was overwhelmed.”

Michelle Branch Is Engaged to Patrick Carney—See Her Art Deco Ring!

What a Happy Birthday and happy engagement!

Michelle Branch announced on Monday that she’s engaged to Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney. The proposal happened on her 34th birthday.

“Thank you for all the birthday love and wishes. Last night, right before I blew out my candles, @officerpatrickcarney asked me to marry him and then I had nothing left to wish for … 34 might be the best year yet,” Branch captioned a photo of her Art Deco engagement ring and her birthday cake.

The couple met in February 2015 at a Grammys party in Los Angeles. They soon began writing and recording together — they coproduced Hopeless Romantic — and fell in love along the way.

The same year they met, Branch weathered a public divorce from her bassist ex-husband Teddy Landau, the father of her 11-year-old daughter Owen. Carney, 37, was previously married to Emily Ward and Denise Grollmus.

In April, Branch told PEOPLE her relationship with Carney and their family dynamic was a lot “like Modern Family.” She and daughter Owen moved in with Carney in Nashville.

“I’d never had someone who was that supportive. He’s an amazing, amazing human,” Branch said of her now-fiancé. “We both just jumped in with both feet.”

Ronda Rousey Is Engaged To UFC Fighter Travis Browne

Ronda Rousey is heading down the aisle!

On Thursday, the former UFC bantamweight women’s champion told TMZ that she is engaged to UFC fighter Travis Browne, whom she’s been dating since 2015.

The pair got engaged in New Zealand earlier this month after Browne got down on one knee under a waterfall and presented Rousey with a gorgeous ring.

“It felt like the right place to do it,” Browne told TMZ.

Rousey also said the pair will be tying the knot “soon,” but no other wedding arrangements have been made yet.

“I don’t really want a lot,” she said. “We don’t really need decorations or flowers, just somewhere to go and something to eat and some people around.”

After Rousey’s loss to Holly Holm in November 2015, Browne was by her side to offer his love and support.

In a February 2016 appearance on “Ellen,” Rousey told the host that she dealt with suicidal thoughts after the defeat, but was fortunate to have Browne to confide in.

“I was meant to have him when I was at my lowest for sure,” Rousey said. “I don’t know if I would have made it without him.”

We simply couldn’t be happier for these two!

Celine Dion Had The Best Reaction To One Of Her Fans Getting Engaged

Celine Dion unknowingly photobombed a fan’s proposal on Friday, and her reaction to the surprise was simply perfect.

Nick Janevski scored backstage passes and a meet-and-greet with Dion for his girlfriend Austin McMillan, who is a huge fan of the “My Heart Will Go On” singer, before her residency show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. When it was their turn to meet the star, Janevski got down on one knee and popped the question right in front of Queen Celine herself.

“Celine Dion is about the only person I wouldn’t mind photobombing the pictures of our proposal,” McMillan wrote on Instagram. “I’m still floating around in the clouds over here feeling like it’s a dream!! My heart is so happy!!”

McMillan told Cosmopolitan that she was “completely shocked” ― so much so that she was actually left speechless.

“I didn’t even say ‘yes’ [right away]. That’s why [Dion’s] face was like that,” she said. “We were taking a picture and all of a sudden he gets down on one knee. I froze. I didn’t say anything, I just smiled. Two minutes went by and she got really nervous ― she hid behind a curtain! She was like, ‘This is embarrassing.’ I just kissed him.”

The bride-to-be said the whole thing was “kind of a blur” but that her idol was super sweet.

“My mom raised me listening to Celine because she is a big fan of hers too!” McMillan told The Huffington Post. “It was incredible to meet her in real life. She is so sweet and genuine and hilarious!”

“She said that she wished us a long and happy marriage like she had with her husband,” the bride-to-be told Cosmopolitan. “She complimented my ring and also asked if she could come to the wedding.”

When Celine asks if she can come to your wedding, the answer is always a resounding, “HELL YES!”

Kirsten Dunst And Jesse Plemons Are Reportedly Engaged

Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst played husband and wife on the FX show “Fargo,” and now it looks like they may be getting married in real life.

Dunst was seen wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Jan. 2 and again a few days later during an appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”

Page Six first reported the engagement news. The Huffington Post reached out to Dunst’s rep for comment but had not heard back at the time of publication.

Dunst and Plemons ― who played married high school sweethearts Peggy and Ed Blumquist on season two of “Fargo” ― were first spotted together in Studio City, California in May 2016.

In 2015, Plemons (you may also remember him as Landry on “Friday Night Lights”) had some sweet things to say about his co-star during a FOX411 interview.

“It was a gift,” he said of working with Dunst. “I loved Kirsten’s work for a long time, and I was really excited once I’d met her, and she’s a great person. We’re both actors that just have fun with the material.”

This will be the first marriage for both actors. Dunst split with Garrett Hedlund, her boyfriend of four years, in April of last year.

We have just one thing to say about this wedding: Bring. It. On.

Gilmore Girls Star Danny Strong Engaged to Girlfriend Caitlin Mehner

Danny Strong capped off his 2016 with a marriage proposal.

The Gilmore Girls star asked his girlfriend Caitlin Mehner for her hand in marriage during the couple’s vacation in Hawaii. On Friday, Strong, 42, announced the happy news with an Instagram photo of his bride-to-be showing off her new diamond ring.

“3 and a half years ago I saw the cutest girl I’d ever seen and got up the nerve to talk to her. She gave me her phone number but it was missing a digit. I was convinced she had to have made a mistake (delusional?) so I tracked her down and asked her out,” the Empire co-creator recalled his first meeting with Mehner.

“Then last night I got up the nerve to ask her to marry me and she said yes! The moral of the story is never be deterred by a missing digit. Love you @mehns,” he concluded.

Strong was one of the many Gilmore Girls stars who reprised their roles for the four-part Netflix series Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. His character Doyle McMaster, who appeared in the spring and summer episodes, was the editor of the Yale Daily News and a love interest for Paris Geller, played by How to Get Away with Murder‘s Liza Weill.

Mehner, who was featured in an episode of The Blacklist, also shared a photo from their Hawaiian getaway, posting a shot of Strong enjoying the sandy beaches.

Criticisms I’ve Faced Because I’m Engaged In My Early Twenties

2015-06-04-1433390335-4565964-10172637_10204096321715178_280355988881912589_n2.jpg

I think a lot of people have misconceptions about women who get engaged in their early twenties, but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. People have told me that if I get married this young that I won’t be able to enjoy all that life has to offer, but to me it seems that my fiancé helps me enjoy life even more than I did before we started dating.

I’ve heard that women who marry young are somehow incapable of making good decisions or, at least, are not able to make decisions logically. But I tell people love isn’t blind. Jacob and I think very carefully and critically before making important decisions, and getting engaged was no exception.

Some articles I’ve seen about the topic of young engagements focus on the benefits of being able to have children young while you still have plenty of energy to raise them. However, I can’t relate to this particular advantage. I don’t want to have children (in the traditional sense): I want to adopt, but not for at least another fifteen years. I factored in children to make sure Jacob and I are on the same page, but I am not getting married to have them.

Why fifteen years before children? Jacob and I will spend approximately the first ten years of our marriage continuing to pursue higher education. He will go on to earn a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Statistics while I earn a law degree and a Master’s Degree in Latin American & Caribbean Studies. Then both of us hope to start PhD programs. In ten years we will no longer be Mr. & Mrs. but rather Dr. & Dr. Once we build our careers, then we will focus on building a family.

Several women are under the notion that I will suddenly end my higher education goals the day I get married. Trust me, I am a human, not a robot, so getting married will not change me into a baby- making machine who leaves school in the dust. Female hormones are not that powerful people. (And who says women cannot have babies and get their degrees too?) (Or that hormones can make a woman change her mind?) When I am married, even though Jacob and I will be legally, emotionally and financially tied, I will still be my own person with my own unique goals and ambitions. Even better, since Jacob also wants his PhD, we look forward to sharing that experience together.

Another reason that people don’t like couples getting married young is because they think it won’t last. We both have great examples of lasting relationships with our grandparents and parents. If we were not certain about our potential to have a legacy of love then we would not enter into holy matrimony.

People also don’t understand why we would settle down and forgo multiple sexual partners in the future. Once again, we aren’t worried about it. We prefer a committed, monogamous environment even though we are both open people. Because we are so comfortable with each other we never have to leave our safe environment to have fun. It’s just one of the many benefits of unconditional love.

Jacob and I have talked a lot about all of the negative comments we have received when we tell people about our engagement. I was inspired to write this article because most of the negative comments come from strangers and non- immediate family who can’t understand why we would get married so young. Most critics are actually women who don’t mind Jacob getting married young but who mind me getting married young. It’s a huge double standard. It is important for us women to lift each other up even if one of us makes a different choice. This is why I love Amy Poehler’s saying, “Good for her, not for me.” I actually thought a lot about whether or not to even write this article because I don’t like feeling as though I need to explain myself for people to accept and share in my happiness. However, writing is cathartic and once I complied all my thoughts into one place it felt like a huge weight off my shoulders.

Ultimately, I am very proud of all of my life choices so I love spreading happiness around, the engagement included. If I need to explain my experiences so people can empathize with a different point of view, I’m all for it! I hope that by sharing this piece of our lives with you all that it clears up any preconceived notions. We hope you will share joy with us on the happy occasion of our engagement!

Paralyzed Ex-Football Player Chris Norton Walked Again, Graduated And Got Engaged. How Was Your Weekend?

Chris Norton, a former college football player who broke his neck during a game in 2010, said he was given a 3 percent chance of ever regaining movement below his neck.

Over a life-changing weekend, he beat the odds and then some.

On Saturday, he got engaged.

Then on Sunday, Norton walked across the stage at his graduation from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, accomplishing a goal he had set over a year ago. Assisted by his fiancee, Emily Summers, Norton rose from his wheelchair and took steps in front a cheering crowd to receive his diploma in business management, KCCI reported.

It was like my gameday,” Norton, 23, told The Des Moines Register. “I was in the zone, focusing on what I needed to do and not worrying about anyone or anything else.”

According to NBC, Norton has gradually regained movement while in therapy. He’s also launched a foundation called SCI CAN to help finance high-priced equipment for people recovering from spinal injuries. In part to provide inspiration for spinal cord injury patients, he publicly declared he would walk at his ceremony. He completed school a semester early to train for the big moment, the network reported.

When “gameday” arrived, Norton was ready. “So many people, including myself, fear failure, it’s human,” he said to the network. “But if you do everything in your power to accomplish your dreams, at the end of the day, you can be proud and happy with how far you’ve come.”

Getting a life partner and overcoming the odds on graduation day added up to 48 memorable hours. But Norton says we ain’t seen nothing yet.

This is just one chapter of my life that just got closed,” he said in his YouTube graduation video. “And there’s still so many things I can accomplish.”

You’re Engaged, Now What? Six Steps to Take Right After Becoming Engaged

Congratulations on your engagement! This is such an exciting time in your life and you don’t want to be stressed out BUT you probably are. You’ve been waiting for him to propose and now that he has, everything is coming at you at high-speed. Many of my clients say that they had an idea of what they wanted their wedding to look like but once they got engaged, all of that went out the window. The engagement period really should be a time to celebrate this next step in your relationship, not a time to be consumed with planning and stress. Here are six planning steps to take within the first month of your engagement that will help take away some of that stress.

1. Pick a date or two. Picking a date gives you direction in the beginning. You may have a venue in mind that you’ve always wanted to be married in but they may be booked on your date. If you’re flexible you may find more success in booking a venue.

2. Sit down with your fiancé and put together a budget. You won’t know exactly what things cost immediately but come up with a number that you are comfortable with spending. If the average cost of a wedding in your city is $ 55,000 but you can only spend $ 30,000, that’s your number. Now is not the time to try to keep up with the Joneses.

3. Hire a wedding planner. It kills me when I hear people say that a friend of a friend or their aunt who “does events” is going to handle their wedding. There is so much more to planning a wedding than fluffing your dress right before you walk down the aisle. We’re here to ensure that you make it TO the aisle! Figure out what the most important things are that you are looking for in a planner and while you’re interviewing, keep those them in mind. Don’t hire someone based solely on their Instagram account or their pricing alone. Ask for references and talk to their previous clients. If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional, try hiring an amateur. Trust me on this one.

4. Find a venue. Your venue will help you determine your guest list. If your dream venue can only hold 100 people but you have at least 200 that you want to invite, keep looking. This part takes a little bit of time because you have to make appointments to see each venue. Put together a list of 3 that you like and start there.

5. Make a guest list. I always tell my clients to make 3 lists. Your first consists of your family and friends who you would put into your lifeboat if you were on a sinking ship. You have limited space on this lifeboat so make those people count. Second, make a list of the people who you would add onto your boat if there were a few extra seats. These are cousins who you talk to at Christmas time and that’s it. You’d like to see them at your wedding but if they aren’t there, it won’t ruin your day. The final list consists of those coworkers who you see 40 hours a week and commiserate about work with but you wouldn’t pick up the phone to call them after 5:00pm. Remember that you have to feed each guest and that’s where a huge chunk of your budget will go. If you wouldn’t pay $ 100 for their meal, don’t invite them. Making a guest list should be taken that seriously.

6. Designate a wedding-free time-zone. As involved as your fiancé may be, he doesn’t want to talk about wedding details every day for the next year. No one wants to do that, not even you. There really isn’t a need to talk about your wedding every day during your engagement. That’s why you hire a planner to handle all of the little details so that your relationship doesn’t become all about your wedding. Remember that you still have to take care of your relationship.

Katherine Webb And AJ McCarron Are Engaged And That Ring Is HUGE (PHOTOS)

This might break the heart of at least one college football broadcaster, but model Katherine Webb is no longer on the market.

The former Miss Alabama announced her engagement to former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron, 23, on Twitter yesterday. Webb, 24, showed off her gorgeous new diamond ring in a picture posted on her Twitter and wrote “WE’RE ENGAGEDDD!!! @10AJMcCarron.”

The couple started dating in 2012, after Webb graduated from Auburn University, according to The New York Daily News.

The beautiful brunette also tweeted a close-up version of the ring and said “He designed it himself.”

Next up, the couple will find out which team McCarron will be drafted for in May’s NFL Draft.

Webb became an overnight star when veteran ESPN analyst Brent Musburger noticed — and ogled — her during the 2013 BCS National Championship Game between McCarron’s Crimson Tide and Notre Dame.

“Wow, you quarterbacks get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman, whoa!” Musburger fawned as ESPN cameras showed Webb in the stands. “If you’re a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with pops.”
