Nobody went lower this week than former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who, on Fox News, mocked the separation of a 10-year-old girl with Down Syndrome from her mother with a “womp, womp” sound effect.

Somehow, his disgusting lack of empathy trickled like a sewer leak into the world…

It looks like huge congratulations are in order for Amy Schumer

When did this happen??

empowering female quotes

From the editors of People
Words by Mike Miller and Jodi Gugliemi

Surprise! Amy Schumer and her boyfriend Chris Fischer are married!

The two tied the knot in a private ceremony in Malibu on Tuesday, a source has confirmed to PEOPLE.

Schumer and Fischer exchanged vows in front of about 80 people, including, Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jennifer Lawrence, Larry David and David Spade.

The announcement comes just days after the Trainwreck star and chef made their relationship social media official with a kissing photo on Instagram Sunday.

“Happy Birthday @theellenshow thank you for having us!” the 36-year-old actress wrote alongside a romantic black-and-white picture of the pair sharing a smooch, which was presumably taken during taken during Ellen DeGeneres’ star-studded birthday bash on Saturday.

Relationship rumors began swirling around Schumer and the chef and cookbook author after they were photographed together in November of last year, chatting over a dinner in New York City. Schumer’s rep declined to comment on whether their relationship was romantic at the time.

The pair were most recently spotted together in New York in January, as they arrived at NBC Studios to watch Saturday Night Live, which marked only the second time they had been seen in public together.

Fischer lives on Beetlebung Farm in Martha’s Vineyard, where he grew up and wrote the James Beard Award-winning Beetlebung Farm Cookbook. His restaurant Beach Plum was touted by Esquire magazine in 2013 as a favourite of Barack and Michelle Obama.

Schumer previously split from Ben Hanisch in May of last year. The two were together for over a year and met on a dating app around November 2015.

Blac Chyna poses in lacy red lingerie as she prepares for huge legal battle with the Kardashians

BLAC Chyna has posted a series of sexy photos of herself on Instagram – leaving little to the imagination in a red lacy bra and knickers.

Posing up in her spotlessly clean bathroom, the model flashed her tattoos in the revealing lingerie and high red heels.

The former stripper, 29, made no mention of her upcoming legal battle with her former fiancé Rob Kardashian’s family – which stepped up a gear this week.

According to court papers seen by People, Chyna is set to face the famous family in court next month as part of an ongoing legal battle.

New documents show that on January 18, 2018, lawyers for Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner will ask a judge to toss out the legal case, originally filed by Chyna.

It all started back in October, when Chyna asked for unspecified damages from the entire Kardashian family because she claimed they stopped series two of her show, Rob and Chyna, moving forward.

However, the Kardashian clan insist Chyna’s decision to seek a restraining order against Rob for domestic violence meant it was impossible for the show to go ahead as the order prevented Rob from having contact with her.

Chyna’s original lawsuit named all the Kardashian/Jenner sisters but was later changed to just Kris, Kim and Rob.

The two sides have legal history.

In 2016 the Kardashians sued Chyna for trying to trademark the name Angela Renee Kardashian – which would have been her legal name if she’d married Rob.

At the time, the family claimed they would “suffer damage including irreparable injury to their reputation and goodwill” if she did trademark the name.

The Kardashians could no doubt do without a vicious legal battle with Kim’s third child due imminently, Khloe Kardashian having recently announced her pregnancy and Kylie Jenner also reportedly expecting.

A Better Mammogram Huge Study Putting 3-D Scans To The Test

WASHINGTON (AP) — A better mammogram? Increasingly women are asked if they want a 3-D mammogram instead of the regular X-ray — and now U.S. health officials are starting a huge study to tell if the newer, sometimes pricier choice really improves screening for breast cancer.

It’s the latest dilemma in a field that already vexes women with conflicting guidelines on when to get checked: Starting at age 40, 45 or 50? Annually or every other year?

The issue: Mammograms can save lives if they catch aggressive breast cancers early. But they also can harm through frequent false alarms and by spotting tumors that grow so slowly they never would have posed a threat — overdiagnosis that means some women undergo unneeded treatment.

That trade-off is a key question as doctors begin recruiting 165,000 women nationally to compare potentially more beneficial 3-D mammograms — known scientifically as “tomosynthesis” — with standard two-dimensional digital mammography.

The 3-D mammograms have been marketed as being able to find more cancers.

“But the idea isn’t so much finding more cancers as finding the cancers that are going to be life-threatening,” said Dr. Worta McCaskill-Stevens of the National Cancer Institute, which is funding the new research to tell whether the 3-D scans truly pinpoint the tumors that matter most.

It’s one of the largest randomized trials of mammography in decades, and scientists designed the research to do more than answer that key 3-D question. They hope the findings also, eventually, will help clear some of the confusion surrounding best screening practices.

“The most important thing about this study is that it’s moving us to individualized screening as opposed to what we have now, which is one-size-fits-all screening,” predicted study chair Dr. Etta Pisano, a radiologist at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

“We are going to have a much better understanding of how to screen women so that we do the least amount of harm.”

WHO NEEDS A MAMMOGRAM?

That depends on whom you ask. Guidelines vary for women at average risk of breast cancer. (Those at increased risk, because of family history or genetics, already get different advice.)

The American College of Radiology recommends annual mammograms starting at age 40.

The American Cancer Society urges annual checks starting at 45 and switching to every other year at 55, although it says women 40 to 44 still can opt for a mammogram.

And the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, a government advisory group, recommends starting at age 50, with mammograms every other year. It, too, says 40-somethings can choose earlier screening.

WHAT ABOUT 3-D MAMMOGRAMS?

Standard mammograms take X-rays from two sides of the breast. With tomosynthesis, additional X-rays are taken at different angles — not truly three-dimensional but a computer compiles them into a 3-D-like image. First approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2011, they’re not yet standard in part because of questions that the new study aims to answer.

Some studies have found tomosynthesis detects more cancer with fewer false alarms; they’re often advertised as particularly useful for younger women’s dense breasts.

HOW TO DECIDE?

Understand that mammograms come with pros and cons, and weigh them, said Dr. Otis Brawley, the American Cancer Society’s chief medical officer.

Breast cancer is far less common at age 40 than at age 50 and beyond. After menopause, tumors tend to grow more slowly and women’s breast tissue becomes less dense and easier for mammograms to provide a clearer image.

Consider: For every 1,000 women screened every other year until their 70s, starting at 40 instead of 50 would prevent one additional death — but create 576 more false alarms and 58 extra unneeded biopsies, the task force estimated. Also, two extra women would be treated for tumors that never would have become life-threatening — that overdiagnosis problem.

As for what type to choose, some insurers, including Medicare, cover the 3-D version, and a small number of states mandate coverage. Other insurers may require women to pay $ 50 to $ 100 more out of pocket. Whoever ultimately pays, extra time to analyze the scans adds to the cost.

THE NEW STUDY

About 100 mammography clinics across the U.S., and a few in Canada will enroll healthy women ages 45 to 74 who already are planning to get a routine mammogram. They’ll be randomly assigned to get either the regular or 3-D version for five years. Most will be screened annually but post-menopausal women who don’t have certain cancer risk factors will be screened every other year.

Researchers will track every woman’s results including samples from biopsies plus genetic and other tests, as well as how any cancer patients fare. The giant database hopefully will help them tease out more information about which women benefit most from what type and frequency of screening.

“Mammography has been provocative over many decades. It’s important that women have a better understanding of how mammography is important for them based on their age and other risk factors,” said McCaskill-Stevens.

That Sex Scene in The Shape of Water Was a Huge Risk

The Shape of Water celebrates otherness by depicting a love story between two very unlikely creatures. It asks the question: Doesn’t everyone deserve love?

The Shape of Water
Image: Fox Searchlight

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Set in 1962, The Shape of Water is an adult fairy tale about a mute woman, Elisa (Sally Hawkins), who works as a janitor at a secret government laboratory during the height of the space race. Both Soviets and Americans are willing to do anything to get to the moon first, including capturing and dissecting a mysterious reptile that oddly resembles a man.

This movie uses metaphor to explore characters who look or feel different or are shunned by society. That’s why Eliza and the Creature (Doug Jones) are mute, why Elisa’s neighbor and friend, Giles (Richard Jenkins), is gay and why her co-worker/confidant, Zelda (Octavia Spencer), is black. The story gives a voice to those who typically don’t have one, setting an example of inclusivity.

The story also allows a romance to spark between two, er, individuals who would traditionally be kept apart by society, government or religion.

Yes, this story is a modern-day Beauty and the Beast. But unlike the classic fairy tale, the Beast doesn’t transform into a handsome prince. Instead, he remains fishy.

Even in the sex scene.

More: 21 Secrets About Wonder Woman You Never Knew

The Shape of Water
Image: Fox Searchlight

After rescuing the Creature from the lab, Elisa takes him home to her apartment, where he lives in her bathtub until she can make a plan for his safe return to the sea. Sharing so many similarities with the Creature and feeling empathy for his plight, she begins to fall in love with him, both romantically and sexually.

Vanessa Taylor, who cowrote the screenplay, told SheKnows about the tricky nature of the scene. For her, it had to be believable that a woman would fall for a creature with scales and vice versa.

“When I first talked to Guillermo [del Toro, the director] about the idea of a sex scene, I said, either we believe she wants to have sex with this fish-guy or we don’t. If we don’t believe it, we’ve got a huge problem. I didn’t have a way of knowing if it was going to work, but I thought, wow, if it doesn’t, we’re all in big trouble!”

The scene could easily turn comical or just gross. Interspecies hookups are always a huge risk. In The Little Mermaid, there’s a reason why Ariel gets to have legs for three days — and it has little to do with walking on land. But I digress.

More: Don Cheadle Tells Men Upset About “Women-Only” Wonder Woman Screenings to Sit Down

The Shape of Water
Image: Fox Searchlight

After Elisa turns on all the taps in the bathroom, water fills the entire space, allowing plenty of room for the Creature to get down to business and do his “fish-guy” duties. The scene is erotic and romantic. And strange. And delightful. And thought-provoking.

More: Gal Gadot, aka Wonder Woman’s, “Whiteness” Is Being Called Into Question

According to Taylor, there is also something deeply primal happening.

“The fact that Elisa was so attracted to a creature that seemed so foreign — for reasons she was eventually able to explain, but initially it was just instinct — that’s very primal. The idea that you could get past the species barrier in a story that’s not presented as a straight-up fairy tale — that’s primal.”

We think primal love is a very good thing. With a current Rotten Tomatoes score of 98 percent for The Shape of Water, it seems at least the critics agree.

The Shape of Water opened on Friday.

9 small kitchen purchases that make a huge difference

by

Laura Falin

posted in Life

Ahhhh…’tis baking season, my friends.

Between now and next March, while the weather is colder and the nights are darker, I get the urge to bake and cook. Certainly between now and the end of the year, we cook up a storm around here. I pour a little wine, turn on some music, and start chopping and throwing things around in frying pans like I’m Giada.

I’ve noticed that there are a bunch of little, mostly inexpensive, kitchen gadgets that make all this baking and stirring and cooking so much easier. Do you have things like that? Things that seem like such a small amount of money for the amount of convenience and satisfaction you get out of them? I rounded up a few here, but if you have suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

9 small kitchen purchases that make a huge difference

1. Tovolo Silicone Potato Masher

The silicone-covered head means the masher won’t scratch your bowls, and the stainless steel handle is comfortable to hold. After enough years using a potato masher that hurt my hands, I say this one’s worth it – and it’s the nicest-looking potato masher I’ve seen, in case you keep your utensils out where people can view them. Choose from red, green, blue, and charcoal.

Buy it: $ 11.99

2. AmazonBasics 3-Piece Baking Sheet Set

I made due for years with just one baking sheet, but having different sizes really is nice. This non-stick coated set is dishwasher safe, and made from carbon steel so it’s got heft.

Buy it: $ 15.29

3. Braun Multiquick Hand Blender

A handheld blender is useful for so many things – from making soup or chili to blending gravy. This one comes with three attachments – a blender, a whisk, and a mini-chopper. The slip-proof ergonomic handle also lets you control the speed one-handed.

Buy it: $ 70.99

4. Luigi Bormioli Sugar and Creamer Set

I had a friend whose mother insisted you never put anything on the table in its original packaging. Salad dressing, ketchup, butter – all of those things went in nice-looking containers and those went on the table. I’m not going to go that far, but there is something about putting your condiments…or in this case, cream and sugar…in fancy containers that just makes things feel special. I like this set because it looks classy and was designed in Italy, but it’s dishwasher-safe because we still live real lives, you know.

Buy it: $ 19.99

5. OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Potato Ricer

There are two kinds of people in the kitchen…potato mashers and potato ricers. I’ve always been a masher myself, but I’ve talked to enough ricers to start thinking about getting one of my own. They swear ricing potatoes makes them fluffier and creamier, and I may take the plunge this year. BONUS: the ricer also works for ricing carrots or making baby food.

Buy it: $ 24.95

6. Gourmet Basics 8-Piece Stainless Steel Serving Set

Another one of those little things that just makes everything look so much classier – matching serveware. We spent years serving food with a hodgepodge of wooden spoons and plastic ladles…and serving cakes and pies with a fork. It doesn’t work well. This set has all your food taken care of and looks just as good for everyday as it does for nicer meals.

Buy it: $ 29.99

7. OXO Good Grips 3-Piece Silicone Spatula Set

My son took a cooking class at school and insists these are, in fact, called “rubber scrapers,” not spatulas. Regardless of what you call them, having multiple sizes is key – the bigger ones are great for scraping out dough or batter, and the smaller one is wonderful for getting the remnants out of jars of peanut butter or mustard or other thick liquids.

Buy it: $ 11.99

8. AmazonBasics Stainless Steel Wire Whisk Set

A big whisk for whipping cream for pies, or lots of eggs for large families, and a small whisk for whipping up a bit of cream for hot chocolate – perfect! The contoured handles are comfortable to hold, and the whisks are dishwasher-safe as well.

Buy it: $ 9.99

9. OXO Bladed Dough Blender and Cutter

I’ve cut dough for cakes and pies using two butter knives before, but it’s unwieldy and makes me cranky. This dough cutter and blender makes the job so much easier…and this is another task where it’s important to have a comfortable handle to work with. This one is excellent.

Buy it: $ 11.99

Also, be sure to check out these 7 larger kitchen gadgets that are saving my life this season.

Alison Hammond leaves This Morning viewers in hysterics as she takes on huge Thanksgiving meal

ALISON Hammond left This Morning viewers in hysterics today as she tucked into a huge Thanksgiving meal.

The presenter sat down to enjoy a feast, prepared by Phil Vickery, alongside Holly Willouhgby, Phillip Schofield, Rochelle Humes and guests Debbie McGee and Giovanni Pernice – and couldn’t wait to get stuck in.

Alison Hammond enjoyed the Thanksgiving meal on today’s This Morning
ITV

In fact she started chowing down on half a left of turkey before Holly and Phil had even finished the cooking segment.

Those watching at home loved watching her get stuck in, comparing her with themselves on Christmas Day.

One viewer wrote: “Alison is all of us on Christmas day…😂😂 #thismorning.”

While another commented: “Alison is me on x mas day I go in on the food #ThisMorning.”

Alison made Holly and Phil laugh with her turkey dinner

And someone else tweeted: “Alison is getting seriously involved! #ThisMorning.”

Earlier in the week, the presenter revealed that she had managed to sneak a phone into her hotel room when she took part on I’m A Celebrity.

The This Morning presenter entered the famous Croc Creek six days after the rest of the contestants when she took part in the creepy-crawly show in 2010.

She was meant to hand over her electronics before she went into isolation ahead of her stint, but she came up with a cunning plan to ensure she could speak to her mother and son in the 10 days leading up to her appearance on the programme.

She revealed: “Because I’m a reality TV veteran I took two phones, I gave them a dud one and kept the other one. SO as soon as I was in the hotel I was on the phone to my mum, like, ‘Alright mum, whose in the jungle, what’s going on?’ It also meant I could speak to my son every day, so for 10 days I had a phone.

“When I had to go in, I turned it off and put it into my suitcase because I thought they would have checked it, but you know what? They never checked anything, I could have taken it in. I’m sure I would have been busted quickly but I could have took it in the dunnie and used it.”

The stars all sat down together to enjoy the meal

Hold Everything: Oversized Bags Are About to Be HUGE (Again)

Susie Bubble carries a trending oversized bag

Gives new meaning to the term “carryall”; Image: Edward Berthelot/Getty Images

Chiropractors of the world, rejoice. Oversized bags are once again in. Though the micro-bag trend is nowhere near over (see: the rise of fanny packs), several key fashion personalities — Raf Simons, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Demna Gvasalia, Alessandro Michele, Phoebe Philo — have aligned themselves with the schlepper cause. (What can we say? Fashion tends to operate in extremes.)

This past September, hobos, totes, bucket bags and shoppers of epic proportions made their way down the Spring 2018 runways of Céline, Calvin Klein and Chanel, to name just a few. (Given the commercial success of Balenciaga’s super-size, super expensive shopper bags, we were hardly surprised.)

Large enough to hold a full day’s (and night’s, and perhaps even a week’s, if you’re used to carrying a mini-bag) worth of essentials, this new crop of cool, capacious carryalls is all about utility. Need a change of shoes? Subway reading options? Gigantic headphones? All the moisturizing products (because winter)? As a wise man once said, “Just throw it in the bag.”

The trend towards bigger-is-better bags speaks to designers’ awareness of their costumers: modern, on-the-go women who, while freewheeling and decisive enough to pack their life into a mini bag, may prefer to travel not so light, for time or comfort’s sake. In keeping with said theme, pair yours with a bold-hued suit or glamleisure getup.

Two addenda:

1. Street style stars suggest you not fill your bag to the brim. Rather, keep it light and dangle it nonchalantly by your side. Big bags are fashion, bag lady vibes are not.

2. Rather than shell out a small fortune on a luxe tote, splurge on another big-ticket item and ask the sales clerk to bag it up in their largest logo-ed shopper or tote (which, in all likelihood, comes free with purchase). Two birds, one stone.

See the oversized bags coming in Spring 2018 and shop early takes on the trend in the slideshow below.

A huge unsung milestone: Our first trip without a diaper bag

by

Maggie Downs

posted in Life

It finally happened. The day I didn’t believe would happen, the milestone I never saw coming, the definitive sign that I no longer have a baby.

The diaper bag is gone!

Toddler boy in pajamas jumping off a rock

I’ll admit I’ve had a rocky relationship with diaper bags. By the time my son was born, I owned three of them – a practical one that I registered for, an impractical one that I didn’t register for, and one I ordered off eBay in a wild, 9-months-pregnant-and-I-need-more-stuff panic.

I ended up keeping just one bag – the most massive one, because I thought carrying around a mini version of Target in bag form made sense. Diaper rash cream, bandages, bananas, water, packets of Starbucks instant coffee, a full first aid kit, a muslin blanket, an extra set of clothes for both baby and me, utensils, hand sanitizer, nursing pads, diapers, teethers, toys, I was PREPARED.

After about a year of dragging that bag to play dates and the park, the bag’s straps shredded, the bottom was threadbare, and I had a perpetual achy shoulder.

Next my husband surprised me with a new diaper backpack, which was glorious. I don’t know why I ever wasted my time with anything other than a backpack. It was roomy, easy to haul around, and the knots in my upper back almost disappeared.

I carried that bag for two years. Then I went away for a week without my family, and when I returned I never wore the bag again. It wasn’t a purposeful decision; this coincided with my son being potty trained, and I didn’t need all the stuff anymore. I didn’t even notice for a while that I wasn’t carrying it.

A selfie with a white woman who has curly brownish hair and her son, the world's cutest toddler, who is wearing a straw fedora and some cool shades.

Last week I made a road trip to Las Vegas with my son, and the diaper bag stayed at home. That made it official. A diaper bag was no longer necessary.

Sure, it only makes sense that the diaper bag would disappear eventually – like, around the same time my son finished with diapers. But over the past three years, the darn thing became such a constant companion, I grudgingly accepted it. It became a part of me. We were one.

And now? I feel like a camel that has just shed a hump.

I currently have an extra set of boys’ clothes and a travel package of wipes stashed in the trunk of my car. If we need snacks, a toy, or a bottle of water, I put them in my son’s backpack, which he loves to carry. (And why not? I carried him for 42 weeks, then all his stuff for the next 156 weeks. The least he can do is haul around our granola bars.)

A tiny red-haired girl and her toddler boy friend, who is wearing a backpack

As for me? I have the tiniest, most frivolous handbag. More like a wallet. It’s so slim, sometimes it slips under the seat in the car and I can’t immediately find it. If I sneezed, it might blow away. It’s like Tinkerbell’s purse or like something a mouse might carry. I can’t even fit anything in it. I adore it.

Every time I grab my little purse, a tiny sparkler of excitement sizzles within me. This is something I never thought would happen again.

Walking upright with no back pain is just a bonus.

How long did you carry a diaper bag?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Promising big tax cuts and a booming economy, President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans unveiled the first major revamp of the nation’s tax code in a generation Wednesday — a sweeping, nearly $ 6 trillion tax cut that would deeply reduce levies for corporations, simplify everyone’s brackets and nearly double the standard deduction used by most Americans.

Netflix just delivered a huge blow to Disney

Netflix vs. Disney

It was just last week that Disney declared a streaming war on Netflix by announcing plans to create two streaming services for movies and sports. Disney also said that come 2019, it’ll stop licensing new movies to its future rival. Netflix, meanwhile, stated that it’s still negotiating rights to some of Disney’s most popular franchises, including the Star Wars and Marvel movies. At the same time, however, it looks like Netflix has been working on a massive anti-Disney move for quite some time.

Porn Blasts On Huge Screen At Train Station During Rush Hour

Things really went off the rails at Union Station in Washington D.C. Monday when a video screen meant to play ads started showing porn instead.

The porn suddenly appeared on the digital screen in the Main Hall around 5:30 p.m. and lasted about three minutes ― or about 2.5 minutes longer than the typical porn viewer.

A bystander recorded the explicit footage, which appeared to be streaming from the Pornhub website, according to the Washington Post.

One woman who witnessed the accidental porn told the paper it left her speechless.

“I couldn’t believe this was happening in public and especially during rush hour,” the woman told the paper. “I mean, it was really explicit porn being shown on this huge screen and no one could turn it off.”

Beverly Swaim-Staley, president and CEO of the Union Station Redevelopment Corporation, said the video screen is supposed to display ads, announcements and names of businesses in the station.

She suspects the screen was hacked, but is still investigating.

“With all this new technology comes a lot of things we don’t expect,” she told NBC Washington.

Swaim Staley says the screen has since been shut down until it can be assured no other public displays of explicit activity will happen again.

“They’re new directories, new technologies that they’ve been testing, and obviously they need to find out how this incident occurred,” she told WMAL TV.

‘Logan’ Roars Into Theaters With Huge $85.3 Million Debut

Logan” tore into the weekend box office, opening to a massive $ 85.3 million and proving that moviegoers will show up in force for R-rated comic book movies. The superhero spinoff marks Hugh Jackman’s last turn as Wolverine after 17 years of donning the adamantium claws.

As the movie business grows more saturated with stories about costumed vigilantes, studios are trying to find ways to differentiate their own comic book adaptations. Like “Deadpool” before it, “Logan” demonstrates that adults will turn out for tentpole fare that is bloodier and more profane than your average X-Men movie.

“Logan” was produced by 20th Century Fox and cost $ 97 million to make. Set in the near future, it follows Wolverine and an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart), who leaving their hiding place on the Mexican border to help a young mutant (Dafne Keen). James Mangold, who previously collaborated with Jackman on 2013’s “The Wolverine,” directed the movie and co-wrote the screenplay. Critics embraced the film, hailing it as a comic book movie with bite, with Variety’s Owen Gleiberman writing that “Logan” “…brings the saga to a satisfying finish.”

Despite “Logan’s” dominance, Blumhouse and Universal’s “Get Out” kept going strong. The low-budget thriller racked up $ 26.1 million, bringing its domestic haul to $ 75.9 million. That’s an impressive return for a film that cost less than $ 5 million to make.

Lionsgate’s “The Shack” took third place, earning a solid $ 16.1 million in its first weekend in theaters. The faith-based drama stars Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer and cost $ 26 million to produce. “The Shack” centers on a man (Sam Worthington) whose religious beliefs are tested following a family tragedy.

Warner Bros.’ “The Lego Batman Movie” and Lionsgate’s “John Wick: Chapter 2” rounded out the top five, earning $ 11.6 million and $ 4.7 million, respectively. That pushes the Lego spinoff’s box office total to $ 148.6 million and gives the John Wick followup a domestic gross of $ 83 million.

Fresh off its best picture win, A24’s “Moonlight” grossed over $ 2.5 million and crossed the $ 25 million mark. The indie studio expects the coming-of-age drama to be the highest-grossing film in its history. That said, “Moonlight,” which focuses on a young man growing up gay in Miami, is one of the least widely seen best picture winners, trailing the likes of “Spotlight” ($ 45 million, domestically ) and “Birdman” ($ 42.3 million, domestically). It has grossed more than “The Hurt Locker,” the 2009 victor that made just over $ 17 million stateside.

Bleecker Street’s “The Last Word” opened to $ 35,620 in limited release. The story of an aging businesswoman (Shirley MacLaine) who enlists a writer (Amanda Seyfried) to pen her obituary, screened in four locations last weekend

Classic ‘Seinfeld’ Joke Is Revealed To Be A Huge Easter Egg

Secret gags in “Seinfeld” are real, and they’re spectacular.

There are Superman figures slyly appearing in episodes, writers dropping in the names of their friends and tons of hidden references the show creators even forgot were there. Well, now we know of at least one more.

When “The Chinese Restaurant” episode aired on May 23, 1991, NBC was not a fan. Larry David has said the network “hated” the episode and didn’t think waiting around to get a seat in a restaurant would work as a storyline. Now, it’s recognized as one of the most iconic episodes, and it turns out its most memorable joke has been an Easter egg this whole time, according to former “Seinfeld” writer Spike Feresten.

“Like Deep Throat … This goes all the way to the top,” said Feresten, who went on to reveal the famous line’s hidden meaning to The Huffington Post.

The Joke: “Who’s Cartwright?”

tv show gifs
Image: YouTube

In the episode, George is waiting for a woman to call him at the Chinese restaurant. When she does call, the host calls out “Cartwright” instead of George’s name. It’s super hilarious and prompts this discussion between Jerry and George:

JERRY
Who’s Cartwright?

GEORGE
I’m Cartwright …

JERRY
You’re not Cartwright.

GEORGE
[EXPLODING] Of course I’m not
Cartwright …

It has been a mystery for 24 years, but now, thanks to Feresten, we know who the real Cartwright is.

The Big Reveal: “Costanza (sounds like) ‘Bonanza’ = Cartwright”

tv show gifs
Image: Giphy

Yep. This whole time Cartwright has been a reference to the classic Western show “Bonanza,” which followed the wild adventures of the Cartwright family.

Though the episode happened before he joined the show, Feresten says the info comes from “an unimpeachable source.” The writer was mum on if it was in fact one of the show creators — either David or Jerry Seinfeld — but, as we mentioned, did say it went “all the way to the top.”

Whoa.

So there you have it, kids. The mystery of why the host calls out “Cartwright” has finally been solved. Now if only Jerry could get a table …

Donald Sterling’s Girlfriend Vanessa Stiviano Hides Under HUGE Visor (PHOTOS)

We wouldn’t ad-visor her to stick with this look.

The photos below were taken of Vanessa Stiviano, girlfriend of embattled Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, when she stopped by her house with her attorney in Los Angeles on Monday.

Photographers hoping to catch a glimpse of the woman heard in the recordings of Sterling’s racist rant were stymied by the all-concealing, gigantic visor.

Story continues after photos …

Gawker reports that Stiviano “has been attending hearings this week stemming from a 2012 DUI arrest (in which she was pulled over driving a red Ferrari given to her by Sterling).”

Meanwhile, Sterling’s comments have earned him a league ban by the NBA, which is now trying to force him to sell the Clippers.

Katherine Webb And AJ McCarron Are Engaged And That Ring Is HUGE (PHOTOS)

This might break the heart of at least one college football broadcaster, but model Katherine Webb is no longer on the market.

The former Miss Alabama announced her engagement to former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron, 23, on Twitter yesterday. Webb, 24, showed off her gorgeous new diamond ring in a picture posted on her Twitter and wrote “WE’RE ENGAGEDDD!!! @10AJMcCarron.”

The couple started dating in 2012, after Webb graduated from Auburn University, according to The New York Daily News.

The beautiful brunette also tweeted a close-up version of the ring and said “He designed it himself.”

Next up, the couple will find out which team McCarron will be drafted for in May’s NFL Draft.

Webb became an overnight star when veteran ESPN analyst Brent Musburger noticed — and ogled — her during the 2013 BCS National Championship Game between McCarron’s Crimson Tide and Notre Dame.

“Wow, you quarterbacks get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman, whoa!” Musburger fawned as ESPN cameras showed Webb in the stands. “If you’re a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with pops.”
