Young Thug Hops on T-Shyne’s New Song “Side Steppin’”

Young Thug has jumped on YSL signee T-Shyne‘s new song, “Side Steppin’.” The track finds the two rappers trading witty bars over an instrumental produced by Jon Castelli and Shy Girls. The track will appear on T-Shyne’s forthcoming album The Immaculate, which will feature Max B, Slim Jxmmi, Juicy J and more.

“I was in L.A. and went to meet Jon Castelli, who made the beat and mixed my whole project,” Shyne says about the track. “I heard the beat and did it that same night. It just had a different vibe to it, like this weird sound. It was the first record me and Thug did together. I played him ’bout four songs and that was the last one I played — once he heard it, automatically he was like ‘load that one up.’ It’s dope to finally release it and let y’all hear it.”

Listen to the song below. In other related news, Young Thug teased an upcoming Slime Language track featuring Chance The Rapper.

With Flags, Song and Pride, France Celebrates a Unifying World Cup Victory

(PARIS) — It was a victory for all of France and the home crowd did it justice, pouring into Paris’ Champs-Elysees Avenue by the tens of thousands to celebrate in an explosion of joy.

France’s 4-2 win over Croatia in the World Cup final in Moscow on Sunday marked the second time in 20 years that France has won the World Cup, and came at a time when the people feel needy.

“It represents enormous things,” said Goffrey Hamsik, dressed in a hat resembling a rooster — the French national symbol — and a shirt with the No. 10 for Kylian Mpappe, the 19-year-old breakout star who hails from the Paris suburb of Bondy.

“We’ve had lots of problems in France these past years,” he said, recalling deadly terror attacks. “This is good for the morale … Here, we are all united. We mix. There is no religion, there is nothing, and that’s what feels good.”

Troublemakers marred some of the festivities at the top of the Champs-Elysees, breaking the window of a major store, throwing bottles, temporary barriers and even a bicycle at riot police as the celebrations wound down close to midnight. Police responded with water cannon and tear gas. BFM-TV reported that the store was pillaged.

Earlier, people wrapped in flags and dressed in crazy hats, and one man spotted totally nude except for the Tricolor, marched down the avenue where France displayed its military might a day earlier for Bastille Day.

Revelers set off smoke bombs in the national colors — blue, white and red — obscuring Napoleon’s triumphal arch. People climbed atop every newspaper kiosk and bus stop in the area to wave flags and lead the crowds below in cheers. The national anthem, the Marseillaise, rang out, cars honked horns and cherry bombs cracks.

A young man sprayed a fire extinguisher on the crowd on a late hot afternoon.

Hundreds of police in riot gear were discretely lined up on side streets to monitor revelers. Typically, celebrations in France end up with some broken shop windows and other destruction, and Sunday was no exception. Tear gas was lobbed at one point on the Champs-Elysees. About 4,000 police watched over the fan zone — packed to its 90,000 capacity — during the match, then moved to the Champs-Elysees and neighboring streets.

As night fell, The Eiffel Tower flashed 1998-2018 to mark France’s two World Cup titles.

The Arc de Triomph was awash in the national colors, lit with the rooster, the faces of the winning team and the words “Proud to be Blue,” or French.

The celebrations were spread across the nation.

For all the crazy antics — and some revelers who got out of control — a sense of patriotism and unity was almost visceral.

Antoine Griezmann, the France striker who scored one of the goal’s Sunday, told a news conference two days before the final, televised on BFM TV, that pride in country is in short supply.

“We say it so little … We should be proud to be French,” Griezmann said.

Mahmoud Bourassi was among those taking a longer-term view and he had some sobering thoughts about France’s run to the title and the festivities it has sparked.

Bourassi runs a youth center in Bondy — Mbappe’s home that was among those scarred by riots in 2005 that exposed the fissures of France that have yet to heal — and he knows the teenage star of the tournament.

“All this euphoria and effervescence, it’s positive but it’s emotional and ephemeral,” he said ahead of France’s win. Bourassi said sports is a “catalyst to bring people and nations together.”

But, he added, it must be built on.

“What we’re seeing is magic, exceptional. But what are we going to do with it tomorrow?”

That is a question for President Emmanuel Macron, who was in Moscow celebrating with the team on victory night, and will receive the squad more formally on Monday at the presidential Elysee Palace.

Revelers celebrated the moment.

“We’re happy. It took 20 years … It’s the pride of the nation. It unites everyone. It federates,” Frederique Pourquet said as she and her friend left the Champs-Elysees.

The win “shows that the French people are consolidated and the work of all France,” said Omar Bzi.

Hajar Maghnaoui, of Asnieres, north of Paris, said “It’s a way to bring the French people together, and also the world.”

Rudy should be better than this. But alas, Keshia Knight Pulliam has dragged her ex-husband, former NFL player Ed Hartwell, in rap song form.

The Jasmine Brand first reported that woman we first loved via The Cosby Show is rapping on her brother Kofa’s song called “Cipher” from his new project Heat Rises 2.

Besides a jab at Donald Trump’s hair (she worked with the buffoon in chief on Celebrity Apprentice), she aimed bars at her baby daddy.

“My baby daddy hit the switch up, I knew I should’ve got a prenup,” spits the 38-year-old actress under her “Peaches” rap moniker.

White On White Crime: Danielle Bregoli Disses Iggy Azalea In New Struggle Song

White on white crime is very real. For example, Danielle Bregoli, who now raps under the name Bhad Bhabie but will forever be the Cash Me Outside girl, just dissed fellow white female rapper Iggy Azalea in song.

We listened to the first 30 seconds of the struggle tune and decided we had better ways to spend fleeting moments of our lives. However, TMZ is reporting details:

The “Cash Me Outside” girl slams Iggy in a remix of her hit song, now featuring YBN Nahmir, Rich the Kid and Asian Doll — a snippet of which has been obtained by TMZ.

In one of Danielle’s verses, she goes in on Iggy by saying … “Bitch don’t compare me to Iggy // That old hoe is washed, And I’m lit // Wouldn’t pay her to wash up my whip.”

It sounds like Bhad Bhabie — Danielle’s rap persona — has been likened to the Aussie MC … and BB doesn’t like it. The only similarity, really, is that they’re both white female rappers.”

QUIZ: Jon Snow Quote or Emo Song Lyric?

Is anyone in Westeros more emo than our favorite brooding bastard, Jon Snow? He loves to wear all black. His hair is perpetually in his face. He goes on and on about how he doesn’t feel accepted by his family. He even took an adorable baby dire wolf and named it “Ghost,” of all names — What’s more emo than that?!

It seems to me that Jon Snow is one pentagram stick-and-poke away from joining a late-90’s or early 2000’s emo band. So what do you say — can you differentiate some of Jon Snow’s famous quotes from the angstiest of emo song lyrics? Take this Game of Thrones trivia quiz to find out.

Grandson Serenades His 98-Year-Old Grandmother With a Song on Her Birthday

A bedridden grandmother was overcome with tears when her grandson surprised her by singing her favorite song for her 98th birthday.

Ash Ruiz, of Boulder, Colorado, is a former member of the popular Puerto Rican boy band Menudo. He continues to perform with members during reunion tours in Central and South America, which keeps him from visiting his beloved grandmother, Gina Rosa Offord DiSanto Evangelista Ciasco, who lives in Palm Beach County, Florida.

“Every part of her life, from the way she spoke to the way she listened, demonstrated her love, strength, and compassion for her family,” Ruiz, 41, tells PEOPLE.

Grandma Jean, as Ruiz calls her, helped to fine-tune his singing talents when he was a boy. She taught him to sing “Unforgettable” when he was just 8 years old, and since then, Ruiz has sung the classic song to her every year for her birthday, singing to her by phone or over video chat when he couldn’t be by her side.

But just before her 98th birthday on August 2, Ruiz was in Florida to attend rehearsals with Menudo, which meant he had his first opportunity in years to be with Grandma Jean in person for the occasion. On July 27, Ruiz walked into his sleeping grandmother’s bedroom and awakened her by singing the famous Italian song, “Surriento.”

A video posted to Ruiz’s Facebook page begins right after he finishes the song, and shows Grandma Jean — who lost her singing voice a decade ago and continues to have trouble speaking — struggling to ask Ruiz for one more performance. Ruiz then goes into a sweet rendition of “Unforgettable,” as Grandma Jean wipes away tears.

“I could feel right away that there was a giant lump in my throat and my heart,” Ruiz says. “That just broke my heart wide open. I told myself that I would hold it together and finish the whole song. My voice broke on the last note and the tears started coming out of my eyes.”

The tender video has garnered more than 137,000 views since it was posted on August 2. Ruiz says he looks back at the moment, which he had no idea was being filmed, as an enormous blessing.

“I feel grateful that I got to be there to honor and celebrate her, and let her know over and over again how much she is loved and how much she is appreciated,” he says.

Ruiz recognizes that there may not be many birthdays left to celebrate with Grandma Jean, and he hopes that the video will remind others of the importance of spending time with the elderly, who are often forgotten.

“Never forget how powerful it is to be with someone in their golden years,” he says. “It’s such a beautiful thing, to just put yourself in their shoes, to put yourself in their skin, even if it is scary. Have a little bit of courage to go there, because their beauty will be revealed.”
