Game of Thrones star Hannah Murray admits playing anorexic teen on Skins was ‘one of the happiest times of her life’

GAME Of Thrones’ Hannah Murray has admitted that playing anorexic teen Cassie Ainsworth on E4 drama Skins remains one of her happiest work memories – despite finding international super-stardom in the HBO fantasy series.

The 29-year-old actress appeared on Lorraine earlier today, where she admitted that her 2007-2008 castmates are like her “siblings”.

Speaking about the popular show, Hannah said: “Some of the happiest times of my life, I fell in love with acting so hard and fast when I first started working on Skins.

“Then those people that I worked with on the show are like my best friends, they are almost like my siblings really, we are that close.

“I see them all the time, they’re such an important part of my life – that thread from that first job is still very, very consistent.”

The star took a break from acting to further her studies after finding fame in Skins, landing the recurring role of wildling Gilly in the second series of Game of Thrones in 2012.

Together with Samwell Tarly, Gilly played a key role in discovering the truth about Jon Snow’s legitimate parentage – and is one of the few characters to have survived to see in the final series of the show.

Speaking to Christine Lampard on the ITV breakfast show, Hannah revealed that she struggles to keep the top secret content of the show under wraps – and even spoiled the show for one of her friends at his birthday party.

She explained: “I always want to tell everyone, I once ruined a big spoiler for my friend at his birthday party – I just decided to tell him everything.

Joe plays Gendry in Game of Thrones – but he and Hannah are yet to share a scene together

“I am always worried I am going to get in trouble, so I am relieved the show is coming out so I can finally talk about it with everyone.”

The much-anticipated final series of Game of Thrones hit our screens in the early hours of Monday morning, with Hannah’s fellow Skins’ alumni, Joe Dempsie, also reprising his role of Gendry for the season.

Hannah previously confessed that she has always hoped Gilly and Gendry’s storylines will cross so that she can be reunited with her close pal on set.

As of yet, the two characters haven’t met in Westeros – and with just five episodes left of the hit series, the odds of an on-screen Skins reunion aren’t looking too likely.

Bethenny Frankel Was Planning To Dump Dennis Shields – Admits She Feels ‘Guilty’ For His Death

During a RHONY episode, Bethenny Frankel admitted that she was planning on dumping Dennis Shields the week of his passing! That never ended up happening since her ex lost his life before she could break up with him, but that doesn’t mean she feels any less guilty about it.

It’s been more than seven months since Dennis Shields passed away but it sounds like Bethenny is still struggling with the loss, as well as feeling responsible for it.

Frankel explained that ‘He had such a powerful force in my life and [was] such a loving person and my daughter loved him that it was this whole thing that was hard to extricate myself from. But I had just said that week, the Saturday before ‘I have to exit this dynamic.’’

She went on to tell her therapist: ‘So then it was on my mind about him dying right after a lot. I couldn’t get off the ride and I feel guilty the only way I got off the ride is that he is dead.’

Struggling to fight the tears, Bethenny recalled that ‘Dennis told me, [if] we did not work out, he was never going to be in another relationship again. He was going to be alone for the rest of his life. It was tremendous pressure and it kept me in. I do not know what happened that night and I will always have to live with that.’

The reality TV star expressed that the therapy session had helped her a lot but because she was feeling better, she also felt guilty about it.

Bethenny argued however that she knows her late ex would want her to feel better after all, so she is determined to respect his wishes.

Netflix admits to using real footage of train derailment that killed 47 for a scene in ‘Bird Box’

TwitterFacebook

Netflix’s Bird Box is inciting new outrage among viewers—and this time it has nothing to do with that dangerous viral challenge

The company has confirmed to Mashable that footage used in one of the film’s disaster scenes depicts the very real aftermath of a 2013 train derailment in Quebec, which resulted in a widespread fire that killed 47 people and destroyed much of the surrounding town of Lac-Mégantic.

The clip appears early in the film, as Malorie (Sandra Bullock) flips through TV channels portraying different scenes from the apocalypse. One briefly shows the silhouette of a train engulfed in flames. Read more…

Facebook admits it didn’t do enough to prevent ‘offline violence’ in Myanmar

TwitterFacebook

A night before the U.S. midterm elections, Facebook has dropped an independent report into the platform’s effect in Myanmar.

The report into Facebook’s impact on human rights within the country was commissioned by the social media giant, but completed by non-profit organization BSR (Business for Social Responsibility).

And it affirms what many have suspected: Facebook didn’t do enough to prevent violence and division in Myanmar.

“The report concludes that, prior to this year, we weren’t doing enough to help prevent our platform from being used to foment division and incite offline violence. We agree that we can and should do more,” Facebook’s product policy manager Alex Warofka wrote in a statement. Read more…

Say What Now? Iowa Basketball Coach Admits to Sexually Exploiting and Abusing Over 400 Boys

An Iowa boys basketball coach is facing up to 180 years behind bars after admitting to sexually exploiting and abusing at least 400 underage boys.

via Page Six:

Greg Stephen pleaded guilty Oct. 18 to five counts of sexual exploitation of minors, one count of transporting child pornography and another of possessing child pornography.

The 42-year-old coach was arrested in March after his ex-brother-in-law found a recording device in Stephen’s house the previous month. He then handed it over to authorities after discovering it contained videos of showering boys. Investigators then searched Stephen’s other homes and found a hard drive and other devices with numerous photos and videos of boys in graphic sexual situations, reported CBS News.

Stephen confessed that he possessed a hard drive containing explicit media regarding 400 different minor males.

In some cases, he posed as a teen girl on social media to trick unsuspecting boys into creating explicit images, offering to trade nude pictures and videos while telling the males what to do. In his possession were images of boys bathing and in various states of undress in hotels. In one of his homes, recording devices were cloaked as a smoke detector and a towel hook.

Even more disturbing, Stephen took videos and photos of sleeping boys with their pants pulled down — and in some instances, recorded himself touching their genitals.

While it’s possible he could spend the rest of his life in prison if his appeals fail, he will face a minimum 15-year lockup term at his upcoming sentencing, which has not been set.

Lock him up!
