Megan Barton Hanson cries over Wes Nelson split after coming home to her empty flat alone

MEGAN Barton Hanson broke down in tears as she opened up about her “really tough few weeks” in an emotional Instagram Story earlier this evening.

The 24-year-old beauty admitted that she had struggled coming home to her empty flat alone as she expressed her heartache at her split from Wes Nelson last month.

Megan spoke out about how ‘alone’ and ‘sad’ she is feeling

Megan remained off-camera throughout the multiple posts, instead filming her darkened bedroom as she spoke to her followers.

Regularly sniffing, and with her voice cracking at times, the Love Island star explained: “I’ve never done this before, posted anything when I am feeling really c***, but I always preach about mental health and not just showing your highlights on Instagram and it’s been a really tough few weeks.

“I have been filming for two days solid so my mind has been constantly busy and now I’ve come back to this new flat I’ve moved into alone and it’s just sad.

“I’m back to complete silence and….”

Megan remained off-camera throughout the story

The star continued: “I just longed for a boyfriend or a partner for years, before Love Island, and I thought I’d found the one and it’s just difficult.

“Everyone is like ‘you need to be happy in yourself’, and I am, and that’s what’s sad.

“I feel like I am at such a place in my life where I am so content and happy and I just want to share these memories and create a little life and empire with someone else.”

Megan went on to justify why she had posted the emotional video to her page, sharing: “Everyone always puts on their best nights out… Going on their holiday… But this is real life.

“I am so blessed and I have had such an amazing time since I left the villa but there’s always times where you feel alone and sad and I just wanted to share with you.

“It’s not all happiness and positivity all the time.”

She followed up with a written message that read: “Love me or hate me, I wanted to share that and show you despite people’s circumstances life is up and down for us all.

“It’s okay to feel down sometimes. Take a second, dust yourself off, breath, and focus on the future.”

Megan broke up with her Love Island boyfriend last month after growing jealous of his relationship with his professional Dancing On Ice partner, Vanessa Bauer.

Although nothing romantic has happened between Wes and Vanessa, the star admitted that she was struggling to cope and publicly slammed the skater for “disrespecting” her relationship at the time.

Amber Rose is Securing the Bag, Earning $2 Million A Year Off Instagram Alone

Amber Rose, the 35-year-old stripper-turned-model, claims that she nets about $ 2 million from posting on Instagram. Born Amber Levonchuck, the bi-racial beauty boasts 18.8 million followers on Instagram, where she frequently flaunts beauty, fashion, and diet products. And it turns out that these sponsored posts are helping her rake in major coins.

During an interview on The Red Pill podcast, host Van Lathan asked Rose how much she earns on the social media site. “Probably like $ 2 million a year, just off Instagram,” she said. “There’s girls that make more than $ 2 million a year, I make $ 2 million on Instagram a year.” Rose explained that she generates revenue through “all of her endorsement deals,” which have included companies like online retailer Fashion Nova and controversial weight loss products like BoomBod and Flat Tummy tea.

In response, Lathan joked that “a ni–a went to college and bought into that bulls–t, and Amber’s making $ 2 million off Instagram. Wow!”

Rose also opened up in the interview about her tough upbringing in Philadelphia, revealing that she initially started selling drugs as a means of survival before she began stripping as a teen.

“I usually don’t tell people this, but I tried selling crack in my neighborhood,” Rose confessed. “They said I was gonna get robbed, I was a girl and I was too pretty, and it wasn’t going to happen,” she said. “So what I did, I would bag it up for them, I would weigh it and bag up the crack rocks for them. And they would throw me some money.”

According to BankRate.com, Rose has amassed a $ 12 million net worth throughout her career as an author, media personality, music artist, and a former model signed with Ford Models. She also launched her own emoji app that reportedly earned $ 4 million in 2016. She gained her claim to fame as a video vixen and by dating Kanye West from 2008 to 2010.

In 2016, Rose appeared on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars and became the ambassador for the SlutWalk, an annual women’s empowerment march to combat rape culture. That same year, she has teamed up with Zoobe, a character voice-messaging app that creates 3D characters.

Alone for the Holidays? Here’s How to Keep Yourself Sane

Source: Vladimir Vladimirov / Getty

For some, the holidays are the best time of the year. It means spending quality time with friends and family, holiday parties and gifts galore. For others, the holidays can be less than cheerful and seem to have a special way of making you feel awful if you’re spending the season alone.

Maybe you’re getting over a recent break up or the loss of a loved one. Maybe you’ve moved away for work or school and can’t afford to make it home in time for the holidays. Whatever the scenario, let’s be honest: being alone over the holidays sucks…and the fact that the entire world is talking about it definitely doesn’t make being alone feel any better.

If you’re one of those feeling a bit lonely this season, you’ll be surprised to know that you’re actually not alone as the holidays can be one of the loneliest times of the year. In an effort to keep your spirits up in spite of being alone, we’ve complied a few coping mechanisms to help you get through the last few days of the year. Here’s a few ways to stay sane if you’re alone during the holidays:

Create Your Own Tradition

Starting your own tradition is a great way to distract yourself from being alone over the holidays. If you have other friends, coworkers or neighbors who are also spending the holidays alone, it might be a great opportunity to start your own “Friendsgiving” or “Christmas Brunch” where you can bond over great food, great drinks and great conversation.

If you’re not up for the group activity, you can start a solo tradition too. Maybe go to the movies on Christmas, or take yourself ice skating, or treat yourself to a nice fancy dinner. If you adapt a tradition you love, you might find yourself actually looking forward to spending the holidays to disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself.

Helping Others

Volunteering and helping others is a sure way to lift your spirits when you’re feeling down. Just knowing you’ve made a difference in someone’s life by giving back will help bring a smile to your face and remind you of how fortunate you truly are.

You can give back in many ways over the holidays by collecting toys and warm clothing for those less fortunate, delivering meals to the elderly, spending time at a nursing home or even donating to your favorite charity. Bringing joy to someone else is a beautiful way to experience joy yourself.

Set Realistic Expectations

You might feel lonely during this time of year simply due to the fact that society has placed such huge expectations on what it means to celebrate the holidays. Everywhere you turn, there are romantic holiday movies playing, family Christmas portraits being hung and social media posts giving off false perceptions that everyone is living their most picture-perfect lives.

Not having a significant other or close family might only seem weird during the time when we’re “supposed” to be going to parties, exchanging gifts and spending time with those we love. Combat those feelings by re-thinking your expectations and realize that nobody’s life truly measures up to the Hallmark Channel movies you’ve been binge watching all weekend. Instead, shift your focus to the great things you do have in life and realize that your holiday is perfectly fine just the way it is.

Remember What You’re Grateful For

Expressing gratitude might seem like something simple, but it actually has many benefits that’ll help bring you out of your holiday slump. It’s hard to focus on being thankful and feeling lonely at the same time. For example, if you’re feeling down due to the lack of love in your life, be thankful for the love that you do have whether it be from friends, family or even your pets.

Keeping a gratitude journal is also a great exercise you can try to get you in the habit of recording everything you value in life. It’s even more rewarding to read through your list of grateful moments the next time you’re feeling down.

Prepare Yourself for The Coming Year

There’s no better pick me up than reflecting on everything you’ve accomplished this year and figuring out your plan for how you’ll level up even more next year. Rather than sitting around feeling lonely, you can spend the holidays writing down your dreams and goals for the coming year and mapping out a plan on how to achieve them.

You can try creating a vision board, reading self-help books, writing motivational notes to yourself or simply writing down your list of goals using your notes app. No matter your tactic, focusing on how great the coming year can be will definitely lift your spirits and help take your mind off of feeling alone!

Bebe Rexha to Married Football Player: ‘Leave Me the F—k Alone’

Bebe Rexha has no time for games. The “I’m a Mess” singer, 29, called out an unidentified football player for continuing to text her while he’s married with children.

“Do you ever have that one guy that always comes in and out of your life,” she wrote on Instagram Stories on Friday, December 28. “And they are cheaters and waste your time.”

The 2019 Best New Artist Grammy nominee then shared a text exchange that began with a question posed to her about when the man, who referred to her as his “friend,” would see her again.

Rexha was cordial but cool in her response, answering, “I’ll be performing on New Year’s Eve. On NBC. Happy New Years my friend.”

The texter indicated that he had meant to ask when he would see in her person, writing, “Omg. Or on tv lol. Not on TV,” to which she replied, “I’ll be performing in San Jose in January.”

Don’t be texting me ‘hey friend’ especially if you’re a married man. That s—t don’t fly with me. Go back to playing football. If only you guys knew,” along with the face-palm emoji.

Single During The Holidays? It Doesn’t Mean Being Lonely Or Alone

As the holiday season starts, singles may face questions from friends and family: “When are you getting serious about dating?”

In many families, seasonal festivities draw lines between who’s coupled and who’s not. Romantic partners are invited to holiday meals, included in family photographs, and seen as potential life mates – while “mere” friends are not. These practices draw a line between relationships seen as significant – and those which aren’t.

As I’ve argued in my research on the ethics and politics of the family, these practices reflect widespread assumptions. One is that everyone is seeking a romantic relationship. The second is more value-laden: living in a long-term romantic, sexual partnership is better than living without one. This fuels beliefs that those living solo are less happy, or lonelier, than couples.

These assumptions are so prevalent that they guide many social interactions. But research shows they’re false.

Why more Americans are living single

The truth is that more Americans are living unmarried and without a romantic partner. In 2005, the census for the first time recorded a majority of women living outside of marriage Although, of course, some unmarried women have romantic partners.

By 2010, married couples became a minority in the United States. The percentage of unmarried adults is at an all-time high, with more young adults choosing to live unmarried and without a romantic partner.

Personal finances likely plays a role in such choices. Millennials are worse off than earlier generations. There is a proven connection between economic resources and marriage rates – what legal scholar Linda McClain calls “the other marriage equality problem.” Lower incomes correlate with lower rates of marriage.

But changing family patterns are not simply the result of financial instability. They reflect choices: Not everyone wants romantic partnership and many singles see solo life as more conducive to flourishing and autonomy.

Single by choice

As I show in my book “Minimizing Marriage,” people have many different political or ethical reasons for preferring singlehood.

Some women become single mothers by choice. As sociologist Arlie Hochschild has argued, marriage brings extra work for women, making it less attractive than single life for some.

For other people, being single is simply a relationship preference or even an orientation. For example, there are those, referred to as “asexuals” and “aromantics,” who lack interest in sexual and romantic relationships.

Who are asexuals and aromantics?

Data from a 1994 British survey of more than 18,000 people showed 1 percent of the respondents to be asexual. Because asexuality is still little-known, some asexuals might not identify as such. And so, it’s possible that the true numbers could be higher.

Asexuals are people who do not feel sexual attraction. Asexuality is not simply the behavior of abstaining from sex, but an orientation. Just as straight people feel sexual attraction to members of a different sex, and gays and lesbians feel attraction to members of the same sex, asexuals simply do not feel sexual attraction. Asexuals can have romantic feelings, wanting a life partner to share intimate moments with and even cuddle – but without sexual feelings.

But some asexuals are also aromantic, that is, not interested in romantic relationships. Like asexuality, aromanticism is an orientation. Aromantics may have sexual feelings or be asexual, but they do not have romantic feelings. Both asexuals and aromantics face a lack of understanding.

Angela Chen, a journalist writing a book about asexuality, reports that her asexual interview subjects suffered from a lack of information about asexuality. As they failed to develop sexual attractions during puberty – while their classmates did – they asked themselves, “Am I normal? Is something wrong with me?”

But while asexuality is sometimes misunderstood as a medical disorder, there are many differences between an asexual orientation and a medical disorder causing a low sex drive. When asexuals are treated as “abnormal” by doctors or therapists, it does them a disservice.

Since the early 2000s, asexuals have exchanged ideas and organized through online groups. One such group, The Asexual Visibility and Education Network, for example, promotes the understanding that lack of sexual attraction is normal for asexuals, and lack of romantic feelings is normal for aromantics.

Asexuals, like aromantics, challenge the expectation that everyone wants a romantic, sexual partnership. They don’t. Nor do they believe that they would be better off with one.

Single and alone – or lonely?

Far from the stereotype of the lonely single, lifelong singles are less lonely than other older people, according to psychologist Bella DePaulo, the author of “Singled Out.” Nor are singles alone.

Many singles have close friendships which are just as valuable as romantic partnerships. But assumptions that friendships are less significant than romantic partnerships hide their value.

Understanding the reasons people have for remaining single might help to handle family stresses. If you’re single, you could take unwanted questioning as a teachable moment. If you’re the friend or family member of someone who tells you they’re happily single – believe them.

9 Ways to Spend Thanksgiving Alone

As a busy, single, professional, the “singles’ table” may come with all kinds of connotations. You’re no longer defined by your professional title, but your relationship status. With all of your accomplishments and talents, everyone is the same at the singles’ table.

This year, it may be time for something new. But, no need to run away to an exotic island vacation to escape. Maybe you just want to see how it is to spend Thanksgiving alone–something you have never done before.

If you decide to spend the day alone at home for other reasons, please do not stress. Do not feel the need to defend why you want to spend Thanksgiving alone. Pick at least one thing from the list below to make your Thanksgiving Day the way you want to make it, on your own terms, while remaining ever grateful and thankful for your blessings.

  1. Movies, movies, movies–something funny and lighthearted usually does the trick.  Want to binge on something smart? Check out BE’s TechConnext On-Demand videos with leaders from Slack, Facebook, Ryan Leslie, and more.
  2. Indulge in one of your favorite high calorie treats–you have permission today.
  3. Start a project, list your goals in a journal, write that book, sort through mail. It will make you feel productive.
  4. Stay off of the Internet. Do not go online to Facebook or any other social networking site. Remember, this is about your solitude today, it’s not about making yourself feel bad.
  5. Get a pile of books together that you have been meaning to read or finish. This is supposed to be relaxing, so please, put away the GMAT books.
  6. If you have neighbors, offer to babysit their dogs or walk them on Thanksgiving. However, you must like dogs; you don’t want to get rid of one stress for another.
  7. Indulge yourself  with your favorite drink or an afternoon nap.
  8. Do a “thankful” ritual for what makes you feel grateful. You may light a candle, burn incense, or whatever you like.
  9. Go to Boston Market or order from your favorite restaurant. If that’s too much trouble, buy a box of macaroni and cheese. A bowl of macaroni and cheese is the ultimate comfort food.

Spending Thanksgiving alone can hurt if it is out of your control, and you really want to be with someone. So, celebrate on your own terms. To give love to others during the holidays, you need to have some in your own life.

‘Battlefield 5’ Has Superior Squad Play, but It’s Dangerous to Go Alone

Battlefield has always captured action movie spectacle in a way a lot of other games have had to artificially construct. Battlefield 5 does this better than any other.

Where Uncharted might have you defending a village from both infantry and armour in a heavily scripted sequence, that is par for the course in Battlefield. Basically every map features that, if you choose to head in that direction.

Even other multiplayer focused games stretch themselves to do what Battlefield achieves without trying. Calling in a bombing run on a killstreak is cool – especially when it adds to your kill total – but in Battlefield, that bomber is piloted by a real player with their own motivations. Sometimes that motivation sees them rack up 50+ kill/death ratios, while at other times they’re in it solely to crash into enemy planes.

It’s what the battle royale genre is tapping into — the chaotic idea that no AI can be coded that can match the unpredictability of sharing a game area with 50+ other people. That given the right tools players can and will create their own high-octane action set pieces, that they’ll become their own devastating killstreaks. That they’re the protagonist in a story where predicting the outcome is near impossible.

A medic stabs a syringe into a soldier in Battlefield V
You son of a bitch, you don’t stop living until I SAY SO!

A Pickle, Rick

If this is your metric then Battlefield 5 is the most Battlefield game ever. It’s the Rickest Rick. But — like Rick C-137 — it isn’t quite the same. In fact, for some people, it won’t work at all.

For those in a squad, it hits all the right notes as it blares out a symphony of action. But it feels like BF5 isn’t worth playing without at least one other person in your squad. If you play it alone, it can be intensely frustrating unless you specifically set your own goals — goals that don’t always mesh with what Battlefield wants you to do.

The way Battlefield sets the stage for its brilliant organic action movie storytelling is similar to the way battle royale games do it — by incentivising conflict via common objectives. In battle royale games, the conflict comes when the circle forces you to move. In Battlefield, the conflict emerges from those moments when teams clash near objectives — be they capture points in Conquest or the ever-moving goalposts of the Grand Operations modes.

Playing alone in a battle royale game doesn’t change these incentives — the circle still moves, and your goal stays the same. But in Battlefield 5, because of the way the game is constructed, your goal might not involve frontline conflict any more.

Bear in mind you might have fun camping in the backfield with a tank, or performing endless bombing runs in a plane. But to have those Battlefield moments the series revolves around, you need to be in the thick of things, and that just doesn’t work if you’re soloing.

There is no playing outside of a squad in BFV, no moment when you don’t have three compatriots ready to help you back on your feet, give you ammo, or yell at you for sitting in a tank at the back of the battle. But focusing on teamplay in a squad that doesn’t work together is grossly unsatisfying. Lacking communication and teammates with no interest in PTFO (playing the … objective) make your efforts sisyphean.

The issue is that you’re no longer incentivised to play BFV the way DICE have designed it, because you can’t rely on your squad — and BFV heavily revolves around Squad play.

#SquadGoals

With a medic, a support, and an assault in your four-person squad in Battlefield 5, you’re ready for basically anything the game throws at you. As a three person squad, BFV equips you with everything you need to lock down a cap point, to Rush a bomb, or to sneak into your enemy’s backlines. A medic and a support as a gruesome twosome will do if you don’t have the numbers.

As long as you have one other person to play with, BFV is awesome. So many of the game’s systems are born of the assumption you’ll be playing with another person you can communicate with and implicitly trust to play correctly.

Anyone in a squad can revive another member. Medics do it faster, but anyone can do it. If you pass away, it’s a squad member you’ll spawn on. You earn more points for helping squaddies over normies, and those points contribute to your requisition score.

That’s used for everything from Meds and Ammo, through to Tank Destroyers, and up to the deadly V-1 or JB-2 Rocket Bombs which eliminate anything in a wide radius.

Rebuilding amidst that destruction is now an important part of how BFV works. Press T and you’ll whip out your tool (phrasing). On your minimap, fortifications you can build will show up as blurred white areas. You won’t know what you’re building until you reach the spot, but once there you can create sandbag walls, razor wire barricades, trenches, and more.

Most important are the Ammunition and Medical stations, because BFV heavily restricts you in both of these aspects. Beyond what you start with, you can get extra utility from the ammo crate.

A support player builds sandbag walls
I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.

More than that, players don’t regenerate back to full health in BFV. Not without help, anyway. Use a health pack – each player starts with one – and you’ll be straight 100 until your next engagement. But if you don’t, you’ll regen 25% of your health and then stop until you can get healed. Medical stations can do exactly that, and they’ll give you another health pack to boot, adding far more value to owning a capture point than just respawns.

While most of the construction takes place in and around capture areas, however, a lot of BFV‘s combat takes place well outside of these points.

A Different Kind of Singleplayer

There is another option if you’re playing on your own — the singleplayer War Stories. There are three key campaigns to play through, plus the prologue – which is more introduction than anything – and two of them are really well told.

Our least favourite is Under No Flag, a by-the-numbers retelling of the formation of the SAS, wherein a gruff officer recruits a criminal – from a jail no less – to join his raiding team. It’s full of odd decisions, but none odder than the fact that the truth is far more exciting than the tepid tale told here.

The second mission is Nordlys, following Norwegian commando Solveig in what starts as a rescue mission by a commando and turns into a fictional adaptation of the heroics of Operation Gunnerside. It’s a far more impactful story, if predictable. There’s skiing and a great deal of stealth — it’s a recurrent theme in these missions — where you decide when and how you want to engage with the enemy. Silently eliminating guards before they can call for backup feels good.

An Assault class holds an RPG in Battlefield V
Take your lumps like a man, Private Twinkletoes.

The final mission — for now at least — is Tirailleur, following French Senegalese soldiers through Operation Dragoon. Their story sends them to France, and it examines the racial implications for African soldiers who are fighting for a country they’ve never seen. It’s a well told, well measured story with fantastic voice acting.

It’s snack-sized storytelling that offers a limited relationship between the player and player character. And the stealth sections might not match up to, say, Far Cry 5. But for what War Stories sets out to achieve, shining a light on the tales told less often, it does a fantastic job.

The Untold Stories

There has been some controversy — or at least consternation — regarding Battlefield 5‘s initial insistence on avoiding the World War II “classics,” as gaudy a concept as that is. BFV doesn’t take place during the Normandy invasion, or across the Rhine, instead opting for the lesser told stories of World War 2.

The classic Wake Island map, beloved throughout Battlefield games.

We think it’s a great choice. Like any Battlefield fan we’d love to see Wake Island, but in a way, Wake Island provides the best frame of reference as to why we don’t need the other traditional locations. After all, The Battle of Wake Island is usually eclipsed by the Attack on Pearl Harbor. It was a less traditional setting, and it became a Battlefield staple because the design of the map is iconic.

And BFV‘s maps are all really beautifully crafted. If we had to pick a favourite it would be Twisted Steel, but thus far it seems like DICE has learned a lot from the mistakes of Battlefield 1. There’s no straight line slaughterfest like Suez, and nothing like Sinai where half the map is a pointless waste of time.

I’m worried about the ice cream van with the psycho clown driver.

Good map design is far more important to us than reliving moments I’ve seen in Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan, because Battlefield isn’t about those moments. It’s about the organic storytelling that arises from the gameplay itself.

Is Battlefield 5 Good?

Battlefield 5 has nailed the sort of gameplay that drew us into the series in the first place. When you and your crew are clicking, when you’re all playing the objective, taking fights at the right time, popping smokes to cover advances and retreats, resupplying mines for one another in the backfield, and back-capping under the enemy’s noses, Battlefield 5 is unstoppable. Untouchable even.

Regardless of setting, it’s a dozen action movie sequences all playing out adjacent to one another, all with their own protagonists. DICE has made a bold move in daring you to team up with friends at all costs, and it’s worked beautifully. It’s not flawless, but we’re loving it.

Danny Walters watches saucy EastEnders scenes alone

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Walters watches his saucy ‘EastEnders’ scenes alone – because he doesn’t want his parents or partner to “wind him up” about them.
The former ‘Benidorm’ star’s latest storyline in the BBC One soap has seen his character Keanu Taylor involved in a hot and steamy affair with Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean), but the 25-year-old star “doesn’t take it too well” when his family poke fun at him.
Speaking about his saucy scenes, he said: “I try to watch those alone – as it’s very awkward to watch with my parents or my partner.
“They know I’m playing a character, of course, but they also know not to wind me up because I don’t take it too well.
“I don’t always watch my stuff because I’m my biggest critic. However, I catch up when I can.”
Danny and Letitia have become “great friends” as their characters’ romance scenes have “got more intimate”, and he believes it is important to have plenty of trust when filming such personal segments.
He added: “We’d only had the odd scene together before, so this was my first opportunity to get to know her better.
“As the scenes have got more intimate, we’ve grown as friends, and that’s really important, to have that trust between fellow actors.
“We’re great friends now, and that helps for any worries or anxieties we might have. She knows what she’s doing, and we’re both feeling really comfortable.”
While Danny hadn’t acted alongside the 50-year-old soap veteran much when he was initially handed the plot, he was confident the pair would create “great chemistry”.
He told Inside Soap magazine: “Working with Letitia Dean has given me the opportunity to learn a lot – but it’s also meant that we’ve been able to make an amazing storyline together.
“I knew Letitia and I would create great chemistry on camera – and we have.”
