The world is a magical place filled with amazing sights and creatures. Some of us are lucky enough to have nature on our doorstep but others are not, and the only jungle they see is of the concrete variety. There are places all over the world that are amazing to visit wildlife and here are some of the best of them.
Galapagos Islands, Ecuador
There is a hugely diverse array of animals on this tropical island and few humans ever come into contact with them. In fact, it is largely only visited by biologists who study these animals, everyone else more or less has to stay away.
There are some amazing animals to be found there including exotic birds, mammals, and reptiles. It is possible to visit the islands, but people who are not natives are unable to buy a one-way ticket to these amazing islands.
Every year there are more and more species of animals being added to the list of inhabitants and the last count was well over 400. The island is the third largest in the world and is home to the Sumatran rhinoceros, Asian elephant, and a dwindling number of orangutan. Bird lovers can come here to take in the hundreds of different varieties, but there’s more.
There is a mountain to climb to get a bird’s eye view of the island, and if you take to the waters, you can enjoy watching the marine life flourish below the surface. You can even watch the sea turtles laying their eggs on the beaches if you time it right.
The Pantanal, Brazil
The Amazon rainforest gets plenty of plaudits for being one of the best places to see wildlife in the world, but there is somewhere in Brazil that’s arguably better. The Pantanal gives wildlife lovers the chance to see some of the regions most celebrated animals up close.
Tours come in the form of river cruises, which means you can wade through this wetland by boat, taking in the wonderful jaguars, giant otters, tapirs, and anteaters in safety. There’s no need to fight through a dangerous jungle, and you get to see an abundance of wildlife, it’s a win-win.
Kanha Tiger Reserve, India
Tigers are the biggest of all cats and also arguably the most striking thanks to their distinctive pattern. Being able to see a tiger in the wild is an experience that few people in the world have had. They are so elusive, but there’s more to this tiger reserve than stripey cats.
It is the home of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, and you’ll find all of your favorite animals from the tale here. There are sloth bears, leopards, Indian wolves, Bengal tigers, and even jackals. While it’s never guaranteed when it comes to wildlife, your best chances of seeing tigers is between March and May because the forest dries out and tigers stay near water.
There are many places all over the world to see wildlife, even in your backyard. To see some of the world’s most exotic animals check out these places and we reckon you won’t regret it.

People who study science day in and day out usually have some fondness for science fiction, and Professor Hubert Zitt is no exception. Zitt, who lectures at Germany’s University of Kaiserslautern, happens to be a huge fan of Star Trek and Star Wars, and when he looked at the Zweibrücken Observatory he clearly saw what it resembled.
The dull, grey observatory served an important purpose for scientists, but it was also a bit drab looking. So, with the help of painter Klaus Ruffing and some of Zitt’s own students, the tall dome got an extreme makeover and now it sports some serious Star Wars flair.
CORONATION Street star Jack P Shepherd has shared an adorable throwback snap on the soap’s set as a young child.
Taking to Instagram the throwback shows Jack, now 30, as a young boy in his school uniform as he props himself up at the bar of the soap’s famous pub, the Rovers Return.
The cheeky young actor appears to be wearing his school uniform as he cheekily grins at the camera accompanied by his dad in the retro picture.
“Me in the Rovers with my dad,” he revealed.
The actor first joined the soap in 2000 when he was just 12-years-old and has been playing the role of David Platt ever since.
And feeling nostalgic, many long-time Coronation Street lovers immediately began commenting on the picture as they reminisced about when the actor first stepped onto the street.
One wrote: “Remember u being like that…loved u then…and love your character and your humour now x”
While another added: “I remember you as David walking into the Rovers, going up to the bar, peering over the top, looking at Betty Turpin and saying ‘Two comes when you’re ready Betty, love’, you were all of about 6! Never forgotten that scene, brilliant!
A third simply gushed: “Aww wee David ( jack ) xx”
Meanwhile, nineteen years later and the actor is now doing some legal boozing of his own, as he was spotted celebrating his on screen fiance, Julia Goulding’s, 34th birthday with the rest of his on screen family recently.
On Wednesday Tina O’Brien (Sarah Platt) shared an Insta story showing the group taking a break from filming to host a boozy lunch on set for the actress, who plays Shona Ramsey.
Tina posted a selfie of them eating from takeaway trays with plastic wine glasses and a bottle of Prosecco on the table.
Although, missing from the picture was Jack who was told to “hurry up” by Tina.
Jack jokingly replied: “Just stocking the fridge”.

The world is filled with amazing cities to explore, but not all of them are as obvious to find as you might think. There are actually a bunch of hidden cities all over the world that are buried underground, and we’ve found the best ones you need to visit.
Wieliczka Salt Mine, Krakow, Poland
Less than 10 miles outside of Krakow in Poland is the Wieliczka Salt Mine that has been producing table salt for the world all the way back in the 13th century. The mine is one of Poland’s biggest tourist attractions, and there are thousands of chambers to be found below the ground.
There are over 180 miles of cave down here, and of the nine floors to explore, three of those have been opened up to the public. The underground city offers guided tours, and you can learn all about life as a salt miner. Religious tours are offered too, and there is a salt statue of Pope John Paul II along the route.
Paris isn’t all about the Eiffel Tower and famous art galleries, there is much more to this romantic city than first appears. Deep below the bustling city, there are tunnels to explore and an estimated six million Parisians can be found down here. The catacombs are the final resting place for many people to house people who had passed away after the graveyards were overfilled in the 17th century. It’s easy to get lost in the winding tunnels down here so make sure you go in with a tour guide, or you’ll end up walking around forever.
This labyrinth of tunnels in Turkey dates back to the 8th century and an ancient civilization. It is believed to be a place of refuge for people during times of war and invasion, but it remains perfectly preserved. People can come to visit this ancient city which boasts 18 stories and is essentially a sprawling metropolis, just underground.
There are ventilation shafts, and multiple escape routes as the ancient engineers were well ahead of their time. Although the city is almost as old as civilization itself, the giant underground city wasn’t found until the 1960s. Imagine not knowing this huge underground playground was hiding underneath your feet for centuries!
Bunkers of Berlin
To try and save their citizens from enemy bombers, a network of tunnels were dug as shelter. They were established for the Second World War, and they are available to roam around today. Tourists can follow the arrows painted on the walls and trace where German citizens would follow to safety. You can see the steel doors left on the bunkers that were designed to keep out poisonous gasses and withstand any attacks from Allied troops above ground.
If you feel as though you’ve explored everywhere in the world, it’s time to go underground. These are amazing cities you can explore that have never seen the light of day, and you should make sure to add them to your bucket list ASAP.
If you love nothing more than trawling the charity shops to find a good bargain, then you might want to sit down for the news: Cancer Research UK has just opened a boutique store in Marylebone, entirely focusing on high-end fashion and homeware.
This means you’ll be able to shop a selection of designer and pre-loved pieces, which could well include vintage Chanel, Céline, Dior and more. Imagine that.
At the press preview, we spotted some lovely designer coats and suits, and don’t even get us started on the shoes and handbags. And obviously, the best bit is that all the money goes to charity, which you just can’t argue with.
Plus, you won’t need to work quite as hard to find something, as the concept is that of a high end boutique, which has been designed by Nadia Themistocleous.
The Marylebone store can be found at 24 Marylebone High Street, Marylebone, London, W1U 4PQ.
