How many Model 3’s has Tesla actually built? This estimator tracks production

Model 3 Production

Tesla’s production troubles with the Model 3 are still an ongoing concern for the EV maker, with Elon Musk just a few months back conceding that Tesla was in the midst of “production hell.” Though the company initially planned to manufacture 5,000 Model 3 units per month by the end of 2017, production hurdles forced the company to push back that deadline twice. As it stands now, Tesla maintains that it will be able to reach the 5,000 units per month threshold by the end of June of this year.

During the company’s recent earnings report, Tesla provided us with some additional information regarding Model 3 production. Specifically, Tesla said that it plans to reach the 2,500 units/week manufacturing threshold by the end of March.

The Iranian village that is built on rooftops

You might not have thought it, but Iran is one of the most beautiful and serene countries in the world, it just depends on where you go. When you arrive in Iran, you need to make your way to the Sardar-e Jangal District, in the country’s stunning Gilan Province, which borders Azerbaijan. Nestled among the Alborz Mountains is a truly mesmerizing village called Masouleh.

As you approach this wonderful hillside village, you will be struck by the unique yellow brick cottages built on the mountain slope. Surrounded by gorgeous hillside shrubbery, and a blanket of mist, this village looks like something to come out of a fantasy novel or a mountain legend. Every view here is truly exquisite, and it’s the kind of place you could never get bored of visually. Not only does it have stunning views, but it’s also a pretty unique village, and we’re going to look at why.

First established

We know that the province of Gilan has a long and interesting history, playing an important role in the development of Iran as a country, and its role as part of the Silk Road. It’s estimated that the first village and community was originally established around 1006 AD, and was located about 6km from where the village actually is now. Attacks and natural problems caused people to move to the new location the village currently resides in. The mountains offered much better protection from potential enemies, so it seemed the obvious choice. The beautiful Masoumeh-Roodkhan River passes through the village, and there is an iconic waterfall just a couple of hundred meters from the center of the village.

Architecture

One of the most striking things to note about the village of Masouleh, is the unique architecture it has. Not only is the whole village built on the side of the mountain, but the homes are built to accommodate the slope. This has meant that the design means the front garden of each home rests on the roof of the property in front of it. The same applies to the restaurants and cafes in the village as well. This is a wonderful use of space, and shows how efficient and economical the architecture was. Optimizing space is essential in a village like Masouleh, so this creative architecture is pretty impressive. Many of the older homes here also have a designated ‘winter room’ with thick walls made of clay to preserve warmth.

Brilliant view

Yes, we mentioned it early, but it can’t be stressed enough how stunningly good this view is. The homes offer large, expansive windows that show a sprawling view across the mountainside, through the fog, and across the Gilan Province. The slender, maze-like passageways and interconnected rooftops make this a curious and charming village. As views go, this is the sort you could spend the rest of your life enjoying – and that alone is worth a visit to this small trading hub up in the mountains.

This might not be a village you’ve heard of before, but it’s certainly one that’s going to be very difficult to forget once you’ve seen it. The unique architecture adds some stunning character and personality to the village, and the rooftop gardens are a wonderful idea. With some of the best views we’ve ever seen, and the magnificence of the surrounding mountain, Masouleh is a village we insist you visit if you ever make it to Iran.

Someone built a pumpkin soup robot that is hilariously bad at serving pumpkin soup

Someone built a pumpkin soup robot that is hilariously bad at serving pumpkin soup

Someone built a pumpkin soup robot that is hilariously bad at serving pumpkin soup

It’s 2017, and these days technology is pretty impressive: Amazon has invented a method of delivery that simply lets the delivery person enter your home. Dominos may begin using self-driving cars. This pumpkin soup-serving robot, however, is not one of those impressive technological innovations. There are some things that we should always just leave to humans. Serving soup for instance. Let the humans keep serving soup, please.

Related article: Teens had 48 stolen pumpkins and 1 gourd crammed in ‘top-to-Bottom orange’ SUV, police say

Evidence that an old-fashioned waiter never goes out of style? Look to Simone Giertz who makes “crappy robots,” as an oddly admirable hobby, and then posts the results on Youtube. Giertz says, “I really dislike soup, especially pumpkin soup” as a disclaimer for her motivation for building the robot. Does she really need an excuse? Bring on the bad robots!

But first! The multi-talented and quite daring Giertz decides to make her own pumpkin soup. This will not be a store bought operation. She admits that, sure, she doesn’t exactly know how to make soup, but that doesn’t stop her, which is, again, oddly admirable.

“I’m going to do it the way I build robots,” she says, “which is to do it the way I think it should be done.”

Related article: Whiskey deodorant has landed on Kickstarter

She then brings out an extremely dangerous knife-wielding robot that is supposed to help you chop, but really just swings knives up and down at a distressing speed. Pushing that contraption aside, she finishes up her soup and brings out the soup-serving robot (which, by the way, she says is made with parts she 3-D printed herself).

The robot, it’s safe to say, does not work. It can barely hold a bowl. It sloshes the soup onto the table. When it tries to serve the soup to Giertz with a spoon, it dumps the entire bowl of yellowish liquid onto her black t-shirt. It is a disaster. It is hilarious.

Is there a lesson to be learned in the aftermath Giertz’s mad genius experiment? If so it’s that if you’re going to eat soup, just stick to using your own hands.

This Crafty Husband Built A Giant Advent Calendar For His Wife By Hand

One crafty husband just raised the bar for spouses everywhere this holiday season.

At the beginning of December, Benjamin Hewins, who lives outside of London with his family, spent two days freezing his butt off while he constructed a 7.5-foot-tall advent calendar with presents behind every window for his wife Zyleen.

Benjamin told The Huffington Post that ever since they started dating, Zyleen has put lots of thought and love into the gifts she’s given him. Now it was his turn to return the favor.

“I came up with the idea about two years ago when in the month of December, Zyleen would leave me a present every day on my drawer,” he said. “So that when I left work at 5 a.m. I would have something to open. It was just the most touching thing and every day I’d open my eyes before my alarm went off just filled with excitement. I felt like a little kid.”

Bundled up in long johns, Benjamin, who is a gas engineer by trade, got to work creating the giant advent calendar.

“I’m no carpenter at all, however I know how to cut wood and screw some screws,” he said. “It was more just using my imagination and being a bit creative. I didn’t really have a clear plan to start off with, I just started and kept going.”

When he revealed the finished product to Zyleen, she was blown away by the gesture.

“She was so emotional and overwhelmed,” Benjamin told HuffPost. “I love that look in her face because I’m constantly trying to think of something to surprise her with and I’m glad she really had no clue and was overcome with happiness.”

Inside the wooden structure were 25 presents. So far, Zyleen has unwrapped shoes, her favorite chocolates, skincare products, a watch and cable clips to keep her chargers neat. Another item was an envelope with a question mark on it that reads, “It’s a day out with the kids and I, make sure you are wearing comfortable clothes.” Benjamin said he will reveal the rest of the surprise in 2017.

The Hewins tied the knot in 2009. In 2003, they met for the first time at a nightclub, which has since become a department store.

“We went back a few years ago and had a dance in the utensil section around the same spot where we had first met,” he said. “All the shoppers quite rightfully thought we were mad!”

Though the Hewins share a solid, happy marriage, their relationship was at one time frowned upon by some people in their circle. Benjamin is Catholic, Zyleen is Muslim. The couple practices both faiths.

“People around didn’t really consent to this, but they didn’t understand what a special relationship we knew we had,” he said. “We knew that if we understood what each other wants and built our relationship on trust and communication then we would be unbreakable. She comes to church with me and I attend her important religious days.”

After thirteen years together, the couple, now parents to two kids, are still best friends.

“I do really hope that when I’m 70 and have dodgy knees, I’ll still be in the garage tinkering around with old coat hangers or used tuna cans to make her something special for Valentine’s Day,” Benjamin said. “She’s a great woman and deserves all the happiness she gets.”

Someone Built His Rabbit An Iron Throne Made Of Carrots, And It’s Glorious

Will Wallace the Mad King be a fair and just ruler? Or will he hop jarringly from one decree to the other? How will he ensure hay quotas are met?

These are the questions Wallace the rabbit’s owner should have asked before handing over the keys to the seven kingdoms.

Alas, the mad king now sits atop the Iron Carrot Throne, holding tight to power. We think “Game of Thrones” author George RR Martin would be proud.

King Geoffrey is dead.

All hail Wallace the Mad King!

A note for the new king, who should keep an eye on his waistline: per the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, carrots are high in sugar and should only be fed to rabbits in small amounts as an occasional treat.
