Kanye West Wants Cardi B And Nicki Minaj To Collab, Not Feud – He’s Allegedly Been Helping Them Reconcile

Kanye West is apparently all for Nicki Minaj and Cardi B making peace and even becoming close friends. This is what one source close to the rapper shared with HollywoodLife.

‘Kanye is all about making peace right now. He just does not see the point of hate and negativity. It hurts him on a very personal level. The feud between Nicki and Cardi is something that needs to be solved, and Kanye’s hopeful it can be. He is certainly been doing his best to fix it,’ the insider stated.

Allegedly, Kim Kardashian’s husband has already talked to both female emcees in private, trying to help them put an end to the drama.

‘He’s put in phone calls and tried to lean on both to arrange peace talks, but so far, all his attempts have been shut down. Nicki and Cardi B are both too heated right now to have any sort of sit down, but Kanye is not giving up.  He is afraid of the feud getting worse — he’s heard the strong words from both sides, and he knows how dangerous things like this can get, so he’s taking this on as a personal quest,’ the same source also tells the outlet.

Kanye, who has been on a making peace journey himself which includes reconciling with Drake, thinks Nicki and Cardi should collab, not feud.

According to the source, ‘He’d love to see them get on another track together. He is encouraging them to make music and not war. Unfortunately, they are both too angry right now to hear him.’

Either way, he is reportedly not even thinking about giving up! The rapper doesn’t want their beef to turn deadly.

Nicki Minaj Says Altercation With Cardi B Was ‘Mortifying and Humiliating’

Nicki Minaj took to her Beats 1 show Queen Radio to address her involvement in an altercation with Cardi B at a New York Fashion Week party last Friday night.

While talking to show guest Funk Flex, Minaj said that the altercation was “mortifying and humiliating,” especially given the setting and the “upper echelon people” at the event.

Following the incident, Cardi took to Instagram where she released a statement that emphasized that her issue was with the questioning of her skills as a parent to her new baby, Kulture, noting that when it concerned her daughter, “all bets are f-ckin’ off!”

Minaj weighed in on the incident on a session of Queen Radio on late Monday afternoon.

“I would never ridicule anyone’s child. [It’s] so sad for someone to pin that on somebody,” Minaj said. “I would never talk about anyone’s child or parenting…these lies are ridiculous.”

Minaj later doubled down on her statements by echoing a sentiment from her song “Chun-Li,” that she feels that people often frame her as the “bad guy.”

“It’s crazy for me that people always need to make Onika the bad guy,” she said. “I was wearing a Gaultier gown off the mother f—in’ runway and I could not believe how humiliating it all felt.”

Cardi B and Nicki Minaj: A Brief History of Their Tumultuous Relationship

The explosive altercation between rap queens Nicki Minaj and Cardi B Friday at a New York Fashion Week event is the culmination of a feud that has been simmering for well over a year.

Read on to better understand what exactly caused the 25-year-old Invasion of Privacy star to lash out, and what the Queen Barbie, 35, has to say about it.

March 2017

The first hints of tension between the pair began in the spring of 2017, when Minaj appeared to “like” a fan’s Instagram comment dismissing one of Cardi B’s rap verses as “Dumb ass bars.” However, many users were quick to observe that this “like” could have been the result of Photoshop fakery or an account hack.

Whatever the case, Minaj seemingly “liked” a tweet saying that the social media diss was faked.

May 2017

On “Swish Swish,” Katy Perry‘s diss track reportedly aimed at longtime nemesis Taylor Swift, fans picked up on some shade coming from Minaj’s direction. “Silly rap beefs just get me more checks / My life is a movie, I’m never off set / Me and my amigos (no, not Offset),” she rapped on her guest verse. Some speculated that Cardi was not happy with the line — particularly the bit that shouted out her man.

Soon after the song’s release, Cardi unleashed a series of impassioned tirades on Instagram Live. Though she didn’t mention names, many believed they were directed at Minaj.

“I hate this s—, I really, really do. A bitch like me, I was happier when I was macking in the hood. This s— right here is so fake,” she said during one livestream, according to Billboard. “When I used to be a regular bitch from the Bronx — a hood bitch — when somebody used to be fake to me it was cool because I could approach a bitch and punch her right in her closure… Now that I’m in the industry, you don’t work like that, just have to watch s— go, watch s— go. You gotta see people play you and just say nothing like a dick. That s— is so wack my n—alike that s— be breaking my heart because the people, your idols, become rivals.”

June 2017

For any fans foolish enough to pit her against Minaj, Cardi B posted a handy reminder on Twitter that summer.

August 2017

The feud appeared to heat up when Cardi performed her ubiquitous summer hit “Bodak Yellow” during a festival at MoMA’s PS1 in Queens. “You know this bitch she never f—ing liked me,” she said from the stage, “and all of a sudden she want to be friends with me — no, bitch … I still don’t like you bitch.”

#PressPlay Wonder who #CardiB is talking about? 👀

Later that month, Minaj was featured on the track “No Flags’ with 21 Savage and Offset. Her verse raised the eyebrows of some fans who believe that it referenced — who else? — Cardi. “I heard these labels are trying to make another me / Everything you’re getting little hoe is because of me.”

Dropping shortly after Cardi B had signed her mega-deal with Atlantic Records, the line was certainly suspicious. However, Minaj diffused the rumors herself on Twitter, sharing that she’d written the verse long before she ever knew the ex-Love and Hip Hop star.

Cardi weighed in as well just a few hours later, offering a comment that can either be viewed as a brush-off of fans playing the pair against one another — or a slam against Minaj.

During an interview at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards in late August, Cardi did her best to bury the rumors of a feud. “I mean, I don’t really want problems with anybody,” she told Billboard. “I don’t want to be, like, queen. I don’t wanna be no this. I don’t wanna be no that. I just wanna make music and make money. I really don’t have time to look at other women, what they doing. I’m myself, you know what I’m saying? Nobody got a problem with me. I don’t got a problem with them. If somebody got a problem I don’t really got to do that whole industry beef. Like, you know, I get it popping with these hands.”

September 2017

Cardi took a verse on the G-Eazy song “No Limit,” which many felt was a dig at Minaj, who’d been the reigning rap queen for the better part of a decade. “My career takin’ off / These hoes jogging in place / Swear these hoes run they mouth / How these hoes out of shape? / Can you stop with all the subs? / Bitch I ain’t Jared.”

During Cardi’s appearance on The Breakfast Club radio show soon after the song’s release, host Charlamagne tha God asked her directly whether she had beef with Minaj. Cardi denied it, saying, “She ain’t never f—ed my man.”

The pair appeared to make nice after “Bodak Yellow” topped the chart, making Cardi the first solo female rapper to do so since Lauryn Hill nearly 20 years earlier. Minaj, who many felt was on track to nab the honor herself, sent Cardi a congratulatory tweet.

October 2017

If you assumed that having Cardi and Minaj on the same song would squash their rumored feud, then you are sorely mistaken. The track “MotorSport” began as a joint collaboration between the Queen Barbie and Quavo, but then the Offset rapper invited his bandmates and Cardi B into the mix. Minaj took to Twitter and, in a series of since-deleted tweets, insisted that the addition did not go against her wishes, and urged conspiracy theories to “relax” and “breathe.”

Things got messier when it became known that Minaj’s verse was altered prior to release. Cardi admitted as much during an interview Capital Xtra, saying, “When I heard the track, her verse wasn’t finished. It was not the verse that is on right now.”

The line “If Quavo the QB, I’m Nick Lombardi” — a reference to famed football coach Vince Lombardi — was originally “If Cardi the QB, I’m Nick Lombardi.” Minaj later claimed that Cardi’s name was changed at the insistence of her label, Atlantic.

When the big-budget music video dropped weeks later, fans noticed that Minaj and Cardi failed to appear in the same scenes. “We tried to create that moment…you dig?” Quavo insisted during an interview with host Ebro Darden on his Beats 1 radio show.

In a further interview with Ebro the following April, Minaj claimed that a scheduling conflict with her hairdresser prohibited her from attending the video shoot on the same day as Cardi. “You know, if I don’t show up they’re gonna act like I’m doing it to be mean, because of the current Nicki hate train,” she says she told her hair stylist at the time.

December 2017

The Christmas season seemingly didn’t foster goodwill between the two rap queens. As the Barbz ganged up on Cardi, accusing her of jacking their idol’s style with the music video for “No Limit,” Minaj herself couldn’t resist chiming in.

April 2018

The feud remained relatively quiet throughout the winter of 2018, but then returned with vengeance following back-to-back interviews on Beats 1. Cardi went first, telling Ebro Darden that there was no bad blood between Minaj and herself.

“I just feel like it’s really internet-made-up,” she said. “I really feel like fans and people, they really want to see that happened, because it’s really entertaining to see people beef. It’s entertaining. Like, I ain’t gonna front, when Nicki and Remy was beefing, everyone was tuning and asking, ‘What’s next? What’s next?’…But I don’t really have the time for that. If you not f—ing my man, or if you’re not taking my money from me, if you’re not stopping my money, then I don’t really give a f— about you.”

Minaj followed up several weeks later with a tearful interview with Zayn Lowe, saying that she felt “ambushed” by Cardi B’s comments in the press following the “MotorSport” verse-changing controversy.

“The only thing with Cardi that really, really, really hurt my feelings was the first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out,” she said. “The first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out, it just really hurt me. She looked so aggravated and angry and the only thing she said was, ‘Oh, I didn’t hear that. I didn’t hear that verse.’ I was like, what?”

She continued, saying that many, including those she considers her close friends, declined to come to her defense when she was being portrayed as a villain in the press and on social media. “That really, really hurt me. I really, fully supported and up until this recent interview I did, I had never seen her show me genuine love in an interview and I can imagine how many girls wish they could’ve been on a song with Nicki Minaj.”

May 2018

Minaj and Cardi exchanged cordial words on the red carpet of the 2018 Met Gala, indicating to many that the frosty relations may have thawed.

Cardi touched on this apparent détente during her appearance on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM show.

“I never was feuding with anybody; there was a misunderstanding,” she said. “I think she felt a certain type of way about something. I definitely felt a certain type of way about something. I didn’t wanna ever talk about it in public because I felt like we gonna see each other again and we will talk about it, and it’s always, like, little issues. The thing is, it’s always little issues, but you know, fans are always gonna make it a big thing. I spoke to her about it. I spoke to her at the Met Gala about it, and it’s just like, see? It’s just something that had to be talked about because it was an issue.”

August 2018

The tables turned in August, as Minaj invited Ebro onto her new show, Queen Radio. The Beats 1 host brought up the Cardi feud (and Remy Ma, but that’s another story), much to the “Chun-Li” rapper’s chagrin. “Can we please move on?” she groaned, before ultimately offering a response. “I didn’t know Cardi and I had an issue. To me, she may have taken an issue with things that I’ve said, but I’m not going to bite my tongue…You gotta have thick skin. People talk s— about me all the time. I don’t go around and tell people to stop posting me because I see one bad thing about myself.”

She continued, “You can’t be expected to be liked and loved and praised all the f—ing time. Give me a break. You coming into the wrong game if you want people to kiss your ass and suck your dick all day, my n—. Like, come on.”

The tough love apparently didn’t go down well with Cardi, who commented on Twitter about being blocked by an unnamed person.

Crafty fans discovered that it did indeed appear that Cardi had been blocked by her rival.

September 2018

The cold war finally boiled over into an all-out physical assault at Harper’s Bazaar’s ICONS party on Sept. 7.

An insider told PEOPLE that Cardi arrived at the New York Fashion Week event first. After Minaj showed up, there was an “altercation” on the second-floor balcony during a Christina Aguilera performance.

“The scene was f—ing crazy,” the insider tells PEOPLE. “It was entourage against entourage.”

“They had their altercation on the second-floor balcony, right above the red carpet. All of the sudden there was a big commotion and everyone didn’t know what was going on.”

Another source told PEOPLE that “there was tension” between the performers beforehand and that “everyone was waiting for them to meet.”

The source explained, “It all happened 20 seconds after Kelly Rowland left Nicki Minaj — she was in between them.”

While the insider said it initially looked like Cardi and Minaj “might hug it out” inside the party, suddenly “it all went down.”

“Cardi walked towards Nicki and all of a sudden Cardi started screaming something about her child. She was yelling, ‘Bitch you feisty. Bitch don’t talk s— about my child’ at Nicki,” the source recalled about Cardi, who is mom to 8-week-old daughter Kulture Kiari with husband Offset.

The source said that Minaj had eight or nine bodyguards, while Cardi had two people. “There was no chance Cardi could get through, but that didn’t stop her. She kept trying,” the source said. “She threw her shoe because she couldn’t get through, but it only hit one of the bodyguards. It did not hit Nicki Minaj.” (Reps for the rappers did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.)

Immediately following the incident, Cardi was escorted out by security while Minaj stayed inside. Cardi was seen leaving the party with a large lump on her forehead but no shoes.

She left barefoot with her dress ripped and butt out,” source said. Cardi was wearing a red Dolce & Gabbana gown.

A defiant Minaj, meanwhile, blew kisses to fans (and possibly her haters) as she exited the venue.

Cardi later wrote a long scathing Instagram post which she entitled “PERIOD.” It did not mention Minaj by name, but suggested she had tried to sabotage Cardi’s career and also spoken badly about Kulture Kiari.

“I’ve let a lot of s— slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f— up the way I eat! You’ve threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f—ing with them!! I let you talk big s— about me!!” she wrote.

Minaj declined to press charges but seemingly addressed the fight in a video shared to Instagram, in which she mugs for the camera as her Queen song “Hard White” plays. The track contains lyrics, not captured in the video, that may be about Cardi.

“I ain’t never played a hoe position,” Minaj raps. “I ain’t ever have to strip to get the pole position. Hoes is dissin’? Okay, these hoes is wishin’. You’re in no position to come for O’s position.”

The O references Minaj’s real name Onika, and Cardi has been open about her past as a stripper. In May 2018, Cardi told Cosmopolitan, “People say, ‘Why do you always got to say that you used to be a stripper? We get it.’ Because y’all don’t respect me because of it, and y’all going to respect these strippers from now on.”

On Monday, Minaj addressed the altercation on her Queen Radio show on Apple Music’s Beats 1, according to Pitchfork. “The other night I was part of something so mortifying and so humiliating to go through in front of a bunch upper echelon… people who have their life together,” she said. “I was in a Gaultier gown — off the motherf—ing runway — and I could not believe how humiliated it all felt,” she continued.

Minaj also went on to deny that she had ever spoken ill of Cardi’s infant daughter. “I just want people to know that Onika Tanya Maraj has never, will never… speak ill on anyone’s child. I am not a clown. That’s clown s—,” Minaj continued, using her full name.

She also went on to clarify why she waited a few days to speak about the incident. Addressing Cardi, Minaj remarked that since “you knew that when that footage came out, you was about to look f—ing dumb,” Cardi and her publicist “hurried up and put out a statement” right away. “I’m such an ill-ass bitch I didn’t even feel the need to defend myself that night,” Minaj added.

Cardi B Apologizes To Bernice King Over ‘Real Civil Rights Housewives’ Skit

Can’t say we didn’t see this one coming. We’re talking about the reaction Dr. Bernice King is having to Cardi B‘s portrayal of Coretta Scott King in a skit from Wild ‘N Out star Rip Michaels’ new show, Off the Rip.

Micheals says no harm was meant and that Cardi B shouldn’t take the brunt of the blame.

Dr. Bernice King — the youngest child of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King — has responded to Cardi’s portrayal of her mother, calling it “repulsive” and “false” … and very, very badly timed as today (08-28-18) is the 55th anniversary of MLK’s March on Washington where he delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech.

Bernice says Cardi is using a platform that her parents made possible in an atrocious way. She wants to talk to Cardi face-to-face. And it appears that’s going to happen because Cardi has reached out to Bernice, according to King.

Here’s more from TMZ:

Cardi stepped into the role of Martin Luther King Jr.’s late wife for a skit called “Real Housewives of the Civil Rights Movement.” Yes, she went there … spilling tea with Rosa Parks and the wives of Malcolm X and Jesse Jackson. There’s also a jaw-dropping “Iggy Azalea” sighting.

You gotta watch, but fair warning … there are multiple references to MLK’s infamous infidelities, and even the trip to Memphis, where he was assassinated.

The sketch is part of “Wild ‘N Out” star Rip Michaels’ new show, “Off the Rip.” As we told you, it also features Cardi delivering “Ho Etiquette” jokes that some call racist.

Nope, it’s guaranteed to NOT even get nominated for an NAACP Image Award.

Martin Luther King III weighed in as well:

Is there anything funny about this skit?

Cardi B Poses Nude Six Weeks After Giving Birth to Daughter Kulture

Looking good, mama! Cardi B posed nude in a photo posted by her husband, Offset, on Saturday, August 25, showing off her post-baby body just six weeks after giving birth to the couple’s daughter, Kulture.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper, 25, wore a long pink wig as she posed with her hand covering her bare breast. She had one leg on a chair as she showcased a large peacock tattoo on her hip and butt.

“WIFEY GODDESS BEAUTY,” the Migos singer, 26, captioned the photo along with tongue and ring emojis.

Shortly afterward Cardi made a surprise appearance at NYC’s Madison Square Garden, where Migos was performing.

Earlier in the day, the “I Like It” singer teased her partner by posting a photo on a private jet that showed her only wearing lingerie. “im on my way to you,” she captioned the sexy pic, prompting Offset to comment, “HURRY HURRY HURRY.”

Cardi has made no secret of the fact that she has been counting down the days until she and Offset can have postpartum sex. Last month she tweeted, “3 weeks and 4 days Yes bitch I’m counting, wassup!”

She also posted an Instagram video on Saturday that showed her snuggling with Offset as he had his hand between her legs. “When the 6 weeks up,” she captioned it.

The couple, who secretly wed in September, welcomed Kulture on July 10. Cardi subsequently pulled out of her concert tour with Bruno Mars, telling fans on Instagram that she needed more time to focus on her baby and recover mentally and physically. “I underestimated this whole mommy thing,” she wrote.

Cardi B Thanks Fans for Their Genuine Love at the 2018 MTV VMAs: ‘That’s Something That You Can’t Buy…B*tch’ [Video]

Cardi B took home a few trophies on Monday night at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards.

While accepting the award for Best New Artist, Cardi gave a deliciously shady speech thanking fans for their genuine love and support — while calling someone a bitch.

To be fair, she could have simply added the ‘bitch’ for emphasis…but we’re not entirely convinced that’s the case here.

“I want to thank all my fans, my family that supported me—all the love,” she said. “All the love that my fans, that my friends, that everybody shows me is genuine. It’s beautiful. And that’s something that God give me that you can’t buy, bitch.”

As for who the someone might be — we have a good guess. However, we’re not ones to stir the pot — we just tell you what’s in it.

Cardi B Drops Out of Bruno Mars Tour to Spend Time with Baby Kulture

Cardi B won’t be going on tour with Bruno Mars this fall.

She was supposed to be the special guest on the last leg of the 24K Magic Tour, but has decided to spend time with her daughter instead.

Cardi welcomed daughter Kulture just two and a half weeks ago and her doctors say that the little one is unable to travel at this time.

“As of today I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on tour this Fall. I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that six weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically. I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing,” Cardi wrote in a statement. “Not only am I just not ready physically, I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road.”

“I hope you guys understand that this decision has been the hardest to make but I have to do what’s best for myself and my baby! Thank you Bruno for being so supportive and understanding,” she added.

Bruno also wrote a statement in support of Cardi’a decision:

“A message for Cardi… Most important thing is you and your family’s health. I know the fans will understand. You are absolutely doing the right thing. I also know we’ll share the stage when the time is right. We love you Cardi and we will play ‘Bodak Yellow’ every night in your honor. Please give your baby girl a hug from me and a hug on behalf of everyone on The 24k Magic Tour.”

Cardi B Shares Reunion with Offset After His Arrest for Gun Possession: ‘Home’

Husband and wife have been reunited.

Offset returned home to Cardi B just one day after his arrest for gun and drug possession in Clayton County, Georgia. His arrest came just 10 days after he and Cardi B welcomed their first child together, daughter Kulture Kiari.

The new mother, 25, shared a Boomerang of herself and Offset, né Kiari Kendrell Cephus, on her Instagram Story on Saturday after his arraignment.

“Home,” she wrote in the caption as she sat on a chair and he stood over her in just a pair of yellow pants.

In another post, the “Be Careful” rapper set the record straight when it came to details of her husband’s arrest.

“For the record Offset is NOT ON PROBATION,” she wrote with an unamused emoji and an eye-rolling emoji.

The 26-year-old musician, who is a convicted felon, was pulled over in his 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera in Jonesboro, Georgia, on Friday. Officers spotted him performing an improper lane change, according to a police statement obtained by PEOPLE.

As officers approached his vehicle, they allegedly detected the smell of marijuana and proceeded to conduct a search. They found three handguns, less than an ounce of marijuana and more than $ 107,000 in cash.

Offset was charged with possession of marijuana (less than an ounce), possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and an improper lane change.

He was held at the Clayton County Jail on bond, which has been posted, his lawyer Drew Findling told PEOPLE.

Cardi B Gets Real About Motherhood – ‘You’ll Never Be Ready For Mommy Mode!’

The rapper is now a mom and is realizing what that really means. But while it’s definitely not easy and nothing can really prepare you for it beforehand, Cardi B wouldn’t have it any other way.

Cardi has been sacrificing her precious sleep ever since welcoming baby daughter Kulture, but that hasn’t dragged her down.

Today, she took to her social media to share a video with her followers in which she addressed her 10 MTV Video Music Awards nominations, something she was obviously really happy and grateful for.

She also went on to open up about motherhood, using a doll to talk to the fans as she apparently did not look a hundred percent at the time and did not want to show her face.

‘Thank you to everybody. I cannot believe that I got nominated for 10 VMA Awards. I’m just been so busy, so tired. Like, I’m in a different world, a different dimension. Now, let me get back to this mommy thing. Let me tell you something. No matter how many books you read or advice I get, y’all will never be ready for mommy mode,’ she said in the clip.

Before that post, she shared a pic that showed only half of her makeup-free face and wrote that she absolutely needed some sleep.

Yesterday, Cardi also posted a pic featuring her and hubby Offset at the doctor with their newborn for a routine checkup and she was not wearing any makeup in that one either.

As you may remember, Kulture was born on July 10 and the rapper couple is yet to post a pic of her.

Nicki Minaj Did NOT Send Cardi B A Gift Basket After Giving Birth – Feud Is Still On!

The feud is still on! It looks like the reports Nicki Minaj sent her nemesis Cardi B a congratulatory gift basket after she welcomed her first child, daughter Kulture, were actually fake.

According to an insider, the bad blood between the two rappers is not about to be stopped, not even by a cute, innocent newborn.

‘Nicki has no plans to congratulate Cardi anytime soon on her baby with Offset. Nicki has mixed emotions about the relationship with Cardi, things are really complicated and at times tense between them,’ the source told HollywoodLife.

As you know already, Nicki has been the reigning queen in the rap industry for years, but after Cardi gained unimaginable fame all of a sudden, it looks like she dethroned her!

That being said, the 25-year-old former stripper managed to become only the second female rapper in history to get a number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It was her song Bodak Yellow that helped her reach star status, and ever since then, Cardi has continued to rise higher and higher in the industry.

‘Nicki feels competitive with Cardi and has no need to try to kiss her butt with baby gifts. Nicki wants to keep her edge when it comes to Cardi, so she hasn’t sent over any silver rattles or other gifts for her new baby,’ the source also told the outlet.

It appeared as if the feud was close to its ending after The Blast reported yesterday that Minaj sent Cardi a $ 5K gift basket containing products from high-end West Hollywood children’s shop Petit Tresor.

It was reportedly filled with clothes, plush toys, organic pampering items, top of the line products and a sterling silver rattle.

But it turns out that the gift thing was nothing more than a rumor as TMZ claims they contacted the store and found out neither Nicki nor anyone on her team had bought anything from them.

Cardi B becomes first female rapper with two No. 1 hits as ‘I Like It’ peaks on the Billboard charts

Cardi B’s fans certainly like it — her music, that is.

Pregnant Cardi B’s Baby Registry Is Totally Over the Top!

To be a fly on the wall at Cardi B’s baby shower! The pregnant rapper, who is expecting a little girl with her fiancé Offset next month, registered for some over-the-top items according to a TMZ report published Monday, June 25.

The 25-year-old requested a $ 2,779 bassinet to be “completely covered in gold leaf” for an additional $ 839, per TMZ. Her list also reportedly includes a battery-powered mini Bentley.

Beaba food maker

But the chart-topping artist also asked for more reasonably priced items, such as the $ 179.95 Beaba baby cook set. (The food maker — also a favorite with Lauren Conrad — allows parents to prepare purees and other meals for little ones in just 15 minutes.)

“Doing my registry but i wanna add gifts for myself,” Cardi B tweeted on June 21. “my baby think i need this Gucci dress. Let me stop . . . Ugh I’m so shleepy.”

The expectant mom, who had her shower this past weekend, according to TMZ, opened her presents in front of a large crowd. “I was planning to have 2 baby showers . . . One in NY and one in Atl but my doctor told me i can’t fly nomore,” she shared on June 20. “Now i have to fly 60 people to Atlanta. I always bragged about having 2 big families until now.”

Cardi B confirmed her pregnancy during a Saturday Night Live performance in April. While this is her first child, fellow rapper Offset is already father to sons Jordan and Kody and a daughter, Kalea, from previous relationships.

Cardi B Is on the Receiving End of Gang Threats After Dissing Crips on Instagram [Photo]

Cardi B — aka Bardi —  is dealing with a bunch of threats from apparent gang members all because she decided to diss the Crips in an Instagram caption.

via TMZ:

On Monday, Cardi put up a shot of herself rocking a blue fur coat in Minneapolis. Her caption said, “I hate wearing Flue but this coat was too poppin.” It’s that word “Flue” that has her in serious hot water — it’s a way to knock Crips favorite color, blue, without using the actual word.

Cardi’s publicly stated she is a Blood, so the post — which has more than a million likes — pissed off the rival Crips, who not only left angry comments … some flat-out threatened her.

The rapper’s scheduled to come to L.A. for NBA All-Star festivities in about 10 days … and her new enemies know it. One comment said, “@iamcardib this will not be accepted #DONTCOMETOLA.”

Another comment — “Now why you go and do this f**k s**t Cardi. This is literally WestCoast Suicide …. bitch betta get #neutral.”

For what it’s worth — within minutes of us reaching out to Cardi’s people … the “flue” caption was removed. Still no comment from Cardi though.

Cardi, listen — when you elevate you can’t be afraid to leave past behaviors (and affiliations) behind. Or, at least keep those affiliations offline.

Cardi B: I Don’t Have to Say I’m Black, ‘I Expect You to Know It’

Cardi B’s groundbreaking success has proved all her naysayers wrong. Three hit songs in, she shouldn’t have to explain anything to anyone, especially her ethnicity.

The Bronx artist spoke with singer and actress Zendaya for a recently published interview with CR Fashion Book. The two spoke about her fame, her haters and why she feels she shouldn’t have to prove her Blackness.

“One thing that always bothers me is that people know so little about my culture. We are Caribbean people. And a lot of people be attacking me because they feel like I don’t be saying that I’m black. Some people want to decide if you’re black or not, depending on your skin complexion, because they don’t understand Caribbean people or our culture. I feel like people need to understand or get a passport and travel. I don’t got to tell you that I’m black. I expect you to know it.”

While others may not have been shown the light, Cardi’s father made sure his daughter understood her heritage.

“When my father taught me about Caribbean countries, he told me that these Europeans took over our lands. That’s why we all speak different languages. I expect people to understand that just because we’re not African-American, we are still black. It’s still in our culture. Just like everybody else, we came over here the same f**king way, I hate when people try to take my roots from me. Because we know that there’s African roots inside of us. I really just want people to understand that the color that I have and features that I have are not from two white people f**king.”

Joseline Hernandez Teases Video for Cardi B Diss Track

Love and Hip Hop ATL Joseline

Reality star Joseline Hernandez released a diss track meant for R&B rapper Cardi B, and the internet is not here for it.

“Hate Me Now” is described as a “scathing diss” that backfired, by Hollywood Life.

The 31-year-old former Love & Hip Hop star is currently being dragged online for her new song, which features the lyrics, ” … dray a Bronx bit** yeah I said it/Fabricated, illustrated, cartoon a** bit**, bloody my a***! Who the f**k cosigned this hoe?”

The self-proclaimed “Puerto Rican pricess’s” “bloody” line was reportedly a reference to Cardi B’s now famous like from her No. 1 hit, “Bodak Yellow.” The the song the New York artist says, “These expensive, these is red bottoms /  These is bloody shoes.”

The two ladies have a bit of history. They both are former strippers and landed gigs on the VH1 franchise, both having dreams of making it big in the music industry.

Needless to say, Cardi B is a major success, having landed a record deal with Atlantic before making her exit from the show. She was even nominated for Best New Artist at last year’s BET Awards.

Cardi B working to make a better future

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B is working hard to make things better for her future children.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker is doing all she can now with her career so she can make things better for her future kids as she doesn’t want them to be raised the way she was and wants to be able to give them all she can.
She said: “This is my work ethic: I do not want to raise my future kids where I was raised, and I know the only way to do it is working, working, working, working, working. I don’t want to live in a small Bronx apartment. I don’t want to have three kids that got to share one room. I don’t want my kids to go to school and get gang-affiliated. I don’t want to do welfare. I don’t.”
And Cardi can’t believe so many people look up to her.
She added to Billboard magazine: “When women come up to me like, ‘I am a freaking senator,’ or, ‘I’m a doctor’. It’s like, ‘Damn, y’all like me? I look up to y’all!’ It’s not that people want to be like me, but some want to say the things I say and can’t, because they’re afraid. I say it for them.”
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old rapper previously vowed to set a “better example” to her fans.
She said: “I realised, after Halloween, a lot of little girls, they be looking up to me. They love me and I’m thinking to myself, like, ‘Yo, I really need to be a better example.’ But I be trying to be a better example, though, you know what I’m saying? I’ve been trying to be more PG-13, less rated R.”

Reports: Cardi B Behind $4.5 Million Christian Louboutin Media Value Over 200%

Talk about #BlackGirlMagic and the power of hip-hop culture. Cardi B, a popular reality TV star turned mega hit rapper, can add yet another accomplishment to her platinum-selling resume: boosting interest in the iconic shoe brand astronomically, almost overnight.

According to a recent Business of Fashion report, Belcalis “Cardi B” Almanzar has created an estimated $ 4.5 million media value this year for the brand after releasing the radio banger “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” and there’s been a massive 217% spike in web searches for Christian Louboutin shoes since summer.

(Image: Instagram/iamcardib)

The 25-year-old female lyricist raves about the “red-bottom” “bloody shoes” in the song, and, like it or not, it’s a song hard to escape, whether it was played during your favorite morning radio show or mimicked in your nephew’s latest Snapchat. Cardi B has taken the hit from the small nightclub stages to the MoMa to the Puerto Rican Day Parade and beyond. Black Hollywood heavyweights including Taraji P. Henson, Idris Elba, and Kevin Hart have raved about the song and Cardi and music icon Janet Jackson set the crowd and social media ablaze when she added the song to her concert set.

The song has continued its momentum from summer into fall, winning the BET Hip Hop Award for Best Single of the Year last month and breaking a No. 1 Billboard chart record that Lauryn Hill had held since the late 1990s. Black Enterprise cover girl and Uber Chief Brand Officer Bozoma Saint John even blasted the song at AfroTech.

One celeb not so hip to the game is Christian Louboutin himself. He recently told The New York Times he’s “not a big rap person,” but said he’d be open to meeting the Trini-Dominican-American star someday.

As for a direct sales boost correlation, the verdict’s still out. However, Deloitte reports that 20.5% of millennials look to social media and more than 15% to the web to get informed about a high-end item before purchasing. Also, Nielsen reported that black women, in particular, spend more time watching live TV, listening to the radio, and using multimedia devices than the whole U.S. female population; they are trendsetters and contribute tremendously to pushing black buying power closer to a record $ 1.5 trillion; and they have “enjoyed steady growth in population, incomes, and educational attainment.”

Based on the stats, one can assume that if many power women of color hear “Bodak Yellow” enough times, they might actually be prompted to give that Louboutin pump at least a second look when splurging for the holidays—or get that good sister-girlfriend to pick them up a few sample-sale pairs to go under the tree.

[WATCH] Cardi B. and Offset Are Engaged After He Proposes Live at Powerhouse Philly

Now this is real life ‘Love and Hip Hop!’ Rappers Cardi B. and Offset are officially engaged! Earlier tonight during their performance at Powerhouse Philly, Offset of rap trio Migos, got on bended knee and proposed to his special lady, Cardi B. The duo, both 25, confirmed their relationship earlier this year after they were spotted coupled up attending a Superbowl party together. The “Bodak Yellow” femcee opened up briefly about her relationship with the ‘Slippery,’ rapper during an interview on Angie Martinez back in March of this year:

“He’s a good person. And you want to know something? [Offset] makes me feel very motivated, and he is supportive of my career.”

During that same interview, Cardi also opened up wanting children by 27, and her fear of marriage after almost getting married to her ex, who is currently incarcerated.

“Marriage is something that is scary to me. Two years ago, I was going to marry [my ex Tommy.] Inside [jail] too. But my friend told me, ‘Cardi, you know that if you guys decide to get divorced, half of your money is his. Or if you guys are still together, and he has a kid, you have to pay the child support.’ And I was like, ‘Hold up, I work too hard!’ But it almost went down!’”

Fast forward seven months later and it appears all that fear and pride has been placed aside! Cardi is officially engaged. From breaking records on Billboard to becoming a power couple with Offset, it’s safe to say that Cardi B. is having the best year ever — and the year ain’t even over yet!

Rihanna Just Gave Cardi B a Most Enviable Congratulatory Gift

Cardi B‘s week just got better.

After her hit single “Bodak Yellow” reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts, the 24-year-old rapper received a slew of congratulations on social media, even flowers from the dethroned Taylor Swift herself.

But on Thursday night, she shared an Instagram story video that would make any Rihanna fan jealous.

“Look what I got!” she yelled off camera, showing off enviable amounts of make-up from the “Work” singer’s Fenty Beauty collection.

“I know you make-up artists is jealous,” Cardi B added.

The rapper was treated to flowers by Swift a day after she knocked down “Look What You Made Me Do” to No. 3 on the Billboard charts.

Cardi B shared a picture of the gift on Instagram, writing, “Sooo beautiful and lovely. Thank you @taylorswift for the flowers 💐❤️❤️…. and I freaking love your music 🎶.”

“That was so beautiful; such a sweetheart,” Cardi B told PEOPLE Tuesday in Brooklyn. “I’ve always been a fan. When I knew it was me and her competing for that No. 1 spot, I was like, ‘Oh why it have to be Taylor Swift?!’ I love her. I don’t really like saying, ‘Knock her off’ — she knocked everybody off!”

Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” Hot 100-topping single is only the second song by an unaccompanied female rapper to ever top the chart, joining Lauryn Hill’s 1998 track, “Doo Wop (That Thing).”

She’s also the first female rapper of color to appear on a No. 1 hit since Lil’ Kim collaborated with P!nk, Mya, and Christina Aguilera for 2001’s “Lady Marmalade.”
