Cardi B Indicted for Felonies In Strip Club Fade Fest

The long arm of the law is coming for Cardi B. The Bronx rapper has been invited by a grand jury on multiple charges, including a couple of felonies, stemming from a strip club brawl she was allegedly involved in.

You remember those fades Bardi allegedly ordered on a woman that allegedly slept with her baby daddy Offset? Same case.

Reports TMZ:

TMZ broke the story …Cardi was arrested in October for allegedly ordering an attack on 2 strip club bartenders — Jade and Baddie G. The 2 women claim they were injured during the brawl when Cardi’s people began throwing bottles and chairs.

The incident, which went down in August, was allegedly triggered after Cardi accused Jade of sleeping with Offset.

The grand jury has indicted Cardi on 14 charges, including 2 counts of felony attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury. Other charges include misdemeanor reckless endangerment, assault, criminal solicitation, conspiracy and harassment.

Back in April, Cardi rejected a plea deal. But that was only when she was facing assault and reckless endangerment charges. However, those charges are all superseded by the grand jury’s charges.

You can probably bet Cardi will be looking to cut a deal now considering these new charges are a result of what was found during the initial investigation.

Cardi B. Performs at HOT 97’s Sold-Out Summer Jam

Some of the biggest names in hip hop, including the genre’s reigning queen, Cardi B, took over the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on June 2 for the annual HOT 97 Summer Jam concert. For the last 25 years, the music festival has celebrated the art, sound, fashion, and culture of hip hop along with the black artists who’ve propelled it into the mainstream. This year’s show included performances from top-selling acts like Meek Mill, Migos, Tory Lanez, and a surprise performance from Lil Nas X with country legend Billy Ray Cyrus.

Cardi B. was greeted by chants from the crowd screaming her name moments before she arrived on stage riding on the back of a three-wheeler motorbike. In between performing her new single, “Press,” and other chart-topping songs, the Bronx-born rapper charmed the crowd with her signature snark and commentary.  She also shared the stage with City Girls, her husband, Offset, and rising rap star Blueface. However, the biggest surprise of the night was perhaps when she threw on a cowboy hat and introduced Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X to perform their viral hit, “Old Town Road,” as part of her electrifying set.

Securing The Bag

In addition to her ballooning music career, Cardi B is securing the bag with a number of lucrative endorsements. Earlier this year, she starred in Pepsi’s Super Bowl spot. She also launched a second signature clothing line with Fashion Nova in May, which reportedly sold out within 24 hours and generated $ 1 million in sales, according to The New York Daily News’ PageSix.

In 2017, it was reported that the Grammy-winning artist created an estimated $ 4.5 million media value for Christian Louboutin, which she raved about in her breakout hit “Bodak Yellow.” Following the song’s release in June 2017, the luxury shoe brand received a massive 217% spike in online searches by November of that year.

Cardi B. Album Artist Launches Brand Calling Out Virgil Abloh’s Silence on Diversity

Nicky Chulo is a graphic designer who has helped create album covers for household names including Cardi B. However, he views his art as more than just work; it’s a vessel he uses to engage with contemporaries and create dialogue through creativity. For instance, his opinion about the lack of inclusion in the fashion industry and criticism about Virgil Abloh inspired him to create his own fashion brand.

As creative director at Louis Vuitton, Abloh has a high-ranking position in fashion. Last month, Abloh shared a behind-the-scenes look at a party for his brand Off-White. The footage sparked a firestorm of backlash on social media from critics who called the Off-White team too white and noted that there appeared to be no black art directors for a brand owned by a black man.

Chulo created his own apparel line called “Off-Black” in what he says is to call Abloh to task while using the proceeds to empower black creatives.

In an interview with BLACK ENTERPRISE, Chulo explained how art can be a conduit for purposeful dialogue.

Nicky Chulo

Nicky Chulo

BLACK ENTERPRISE: Describe your background as a designer and your progression into your current role.
Nicky Chulo: I’m currently an art director at Atlantic Records with a background in graphic design and typography. I’ve been a graphic designer for almost 10 years now and it’s been a very wild ride. To keep it short, I came up in Northern Virginia, went to college in Atlanta (SCAD), and jumped into the corporate side of my career in New York circa 2013.

What are some of your other most impactful projects to date?
I have two. I would have to say hands down Trap Karaoke is the most impactful project I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of. Trap Karaoke is a very black, very safe, and very wholesome place where everyone can have a good time. A quick sum up for those who don’t know: Trap Karaoke is an event where you can sign up to perform your favorite song on stage in front of a crowd whose sole purpose is to sing along with and encourage you. On a few occasions, we’ve had people performing their song and the musician who created said song would join them on stage and perform. It’s a really beautiful thing.

The second most impactful project to me was working with Sylvan LaCue on his Apologies In Advance album. I had the pleasure of working with Sylvan and his team to develop the concept and visuals. Apologies In Advance is about growth, acceptance, how to deal with hardships, and the list goes on. It’s about healing and becoming the best person you can be and as a millennial, I can say it’s a priceless project. Jay Z gives us free game in the form of witty classy lyricism and Sylvan gives us free band-aids in the form of honest, vulnerable words.

Nicky Chulo’s Off-Black apparel line

What inspired you to create your latest t-shirt design “Off-Black”?
What inspired Off-Black is the lack of diversity on Virgil’s “Off-White” team. Even if he’s just the “face” of the brand I believe he has a responsibility to speak up on behalf of diversity. I’m not discrediting the talent at Off-White, but knowing how hard I worked, especially as a designer of color, to get to where I am, it hurt a bit. Blood, sweat, tears, relationships, lack of sleep, and having to be twice if not three times as good to be seen. Having to be ready for anything at all times. We need more people of color in the room. We need more people of color inside the room.

What type of dialogue are you looking to create with the “Off-Black” merchandise?

I remember Virgil once tweeted “Design is the freshest scam” and I thought that was a very very cornball tweet. Design is purposeful always.

Why were you initially hesitant to release the apparel?

I was definitely hesitant at first. I knew if I was going to do this I had to be all in. In the end, I found out that Virgil was blocking people who reached out to him in his Instagram messages with the #Diversity hashtag, which I think is dismissive and irresponsible. You have a platform and we want answers to a particular question, why not give them to us? Right or wrong, why not be transparent? Lastly, my girl was like “Baby, you know you want to do this” and I was like “Angel, you are 100% right,” and I got busy.

How has the culture rallied behind your message?
Man. I mean the culture pulled up with open arms, dollars, and megaphones.

What will you do with the proceeds?
One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to The Whlgns for Leaders Amongst Leaders. I think the conversation we’ve started is equally, if not more important, than the money we’re raising. I hope to inspire black creatives with this Hail Mary of a project. I’m grateful I was in a position to take this on.

Cardi B Keeps It Real About Changing Her Body After Baby With The Help Of Plastic Surgery

2019 Billboard Music Awards - Arrivals

Source: Daniel Torok / Getty

Cardi B isn’t ashamed to say she’s gone the mommy makeover route after having daughter, Kulture.

The 26-year-old star, who just picked up six Billboard awards at the show on Wednesday night, opened up about her post-baby body nine months after welcoming Kulture.

“I feel good, and then sometimes I feel like not, you know?” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Your skin is more stretched out.”

Despite the stretching skin, Cardi has gone to different lengths to feel good in it. When asked about the rock-hard abs she’s been flaunting these days and what she has done to get them, Cardi coyly said, “Stuff.” And while she wanted to keep some things a secret, she wasn’t afraid to share that she’d recently had work done again on her breasts.

“I just got my boobs redone,” saying she’s fully healed from the experience. “My daughter f–ked me up! She did. She sure did.”

This revelation comes after Cardi revealed in an Instagram Live video last year that she was thinking about having some liposuction and getting her breasts done over, saying, “my body’s still not where I want it to be. I still got like a lot of love handles right here. They’re not much, but I’m used to having a real tight stomach, so it’s like seeing all this extra skin and sh-t — where the f–k did you came from? I might just get a little lipo, you know what I’m saying?”

“I will get my boobs done over,” she added. “I just don’t know when I’m gonna have the time to do it because I don’t think I got a whole month or three weeks for recovery.”

Well, seems like the star made time to recover just in time to be red carpet fresh for last night’s show.

This isn’t the first time she’s been honest about having work done. Cardi has spoken about having butt injections done during her time stripping, and getting work done on her breasts in the past. Being upfront about it all has seemingly given her the confidence to flaunt her curves, often doing so on social media and on stage. If you need some examples of this, hit the flip to check out more photos of Cardi showing off her body after baby.

Selena Gomez And Cardi B Take The Stage Together At Coachella

On Friday, Cardi B and Selena Gomez took the stage at the Coachella Festival but, unfortunately for the fans, they weren’t actually performing a full set. DJ Snake was the first artist to perform on that day and Cardi B appeared on the stage first with Selena trailing closely behind.

As fans of Selena know, she hasn’t had a concert for almost a year, with the last time being when she took the spotlight with Taylor Swift back in May of 2018 for her Reputation Tour. Moreover, Selena skipped last year’s Coachella as well.

For the last few years, Gomez has struggled with mental health issues among other complications, including her very public kidney transplant that was widely reported on after the fact.

Additionally, her final breakup with Justin Bieber was claimed to be one of the reasons for her mental breakdown as well, although this can’t be substantiated.

As it was previously reported, Justin and Selena briefly rekindled their romance last year, however, Bieber went on to marry Hailey Baldwin instead. Thankfully, Gomez is back in her usual condition, jamming along with the Grammy-winning rapper, Cardi B.

One year before that, in 2017, Gomez insinuated she and The Weeknd were dating, but they also broke up not long after. Regardless, this brief appearence at Coachella is likely a sign of what’s to come: either a new record or possible concert dates. As for what the duo played, Selena and Cardi B performed the track, “Taki Taki,” which they first recorded with the DJ.

Interestingly, Cardi B wasn’t supposed to even be at the festival this year, because she’s not scheduled to perform. Last year, the star took the stage despite being pregnant, so fans have been quite understanding on social media.

Around that time, Cardi B was gearing up to have her very first baby with the Migos rapper, Offset. They secretly got married and it was later revealed by the media, however, they broke up again when Offset was accused of cheating on her with multiple women.

OMG! Cardi B Licks Offset on Grammys Red Carpet: Pic

The PDA is real! Cardi B‘s fanned-out vintage Mugler dress wasn’t the only thing to draw attention on the 2019 Grammys red carpet on Sunday, February 10.

That’s because her estranged husband, Offset, arrived at the event alongside the “I Like it” singer, 26. On their way in, the couple talked, posed for pics and even licked each other. Cardi grabbed the Migos rapper, 27, by the chin and stuck her tongue out, and he returned the favor.

This comes two weeks after the Grammy-nominee admitted that she and Offset weren’t over. “We’re working things out, baby,” she told press after a January 31 court appearance.

After welcoming their daughter, Kulture, in December 2018, the pair called it quits in December 2018. Cardi announced their breakup on Instagram.

“So everybody been bugging me and everything and you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now,” the “I Like it” singer said at the time. “And we are really good friends and we are really good business partners — you know, he’s always somebody that I run to, to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.”

She added: “It’s nobody fault. I guess we grew out of love but we are not together anymore. I don’t know, it might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father.”

Cardi B Had ‘Mixed Feelings’ About Not Performing At The Superbowl

Fanatics Super Bowl Party

Source: Shareif Ziyadat / Getty

When Cardi B was asked to perform at the halftime show for this year’s Superbowl, she declined because she wanted to support ex-NFL player Colin Kaepernick, who hasn’t played in the league since he began protesting against racial injustices against minorities by kneeling during the national anthem. The decision wasn’t an easy one to make and she said she had mixed feelings about turning down the offer.

“My husband, he loves football. His kids play football. It’s really hard for him… He really wants to go to the Super Bowl, but he can’t go to the Super Bowl, because he’s got to stand for something,” the former Love & Hip Hop star told the Associated Press.

The “Money” rapper also said she sacrificed a lot of money by deciding not perform.

“You have to sacrifice that,” she said. “I got to sacrifice a lot of money to perform. But there’s a man who sacrificed his job for us, so we got to stand behind him.”

The Bronx spitter said she hopes that this protest will help spark a change and bring light to the injustices that Kaepernick was spotlighting but she is doubtful.

“We got an arrogant president, and the racism right now has been reborn,” she said. “They feel mighty brave nowadays. When Obama was around, I just feel like they were praying on the day when his eight years was over. A lot of jealousy. When they see (how) the choices they made due to racism has affected the country, that’s when things are going to start changing. Right now, they don’t want to accept that their decision has affected the country.”

Conservative Commentator Tomi Lahren Insulted Cardi B’s Intelligence and Sparked an All-Out Twitter Feud

Rap star Carbi B clapped back at a conservative political commentator who insulted her intelligence on Twitter, launching a viral tete-a-tete.

Cardi B, the first female rapper to have multiple number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, posted a video on Thursday complaining that President Donald Trump had ordered federal employees to work without pay. Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren, who is known for her incendiary style, tweeted sarcastically, “Looks like @iamcardib is the latest political mind to endorse the Democrats! HA!”

Cardi B did not acknowledge Lahren’s message for several days, but continued tweeting political images, including of posters from Saturday’s Women’s March which quoted her.

Then early on Sunday morning, she directly addressed Lahren, tweeting, “Leave me alone, I will dog walk you.”

Cardi B’s response, at the time of this writing, has collected over 500,000 likes and over 100,000 retweets.

A few hours later, Lahren doubled down on insulting the rapper, calling Carbi B’s commentary “moronic.”

Cardi B responded that Lahren is proving her point.

Many of Cardi B’s Twitter followers immediately lined up to support her – including New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who pointed out her and Cardi B’s shared Bronx roots.

Soon afterward, Lahren fired off tweets accusing Cardi B of inciting violence, but other Twitter users responded that she was “playing the victim” when she had actually started the fight.

Cardi B also discussed the controversy live on Instagram on Sunday, saying that she was frustrated that people were judging her based on the way she talks, People reported. She said that she has always enjoyed following politics and enjoys reading about world history.

“A lot of people think I’m dumb, think I’m ghetto because of the way I talk… but just because I’m that it doesn’t make me dumb and one thing I really want y’all to understand about me, I’m a very passionate person when it comes to history and when it comes to political things, and I always been like that,” Cardi B said, according to People.

Cardi B has expressed her love of politics in the past. Last April, she told the magazine GQ, “I love government. I’m obsessed with Presidents. I’m obsessed to know how the system works.”

We’re All Degrees of Separation From Cardi B: The Ubiquity of Hip-Hop’s Current It Girl

Anyone abreast of current trends, conversations, and the happenings of the times are merely degrees of separation from rapper Cardi B. Whether you love her, hate her, or are indifferent; whether you consider her a skilled rapper, or believe she is a flash in a pan at the current moment, Cardi B is music’s current “it girl.”

As of now, Cardi B is one of the ubiquitous ones — celebrities or pubic persons who dominate for a time, or for a lifetime, and if they are fortunate, dominate all or most facets of entertainment. She can be heard in most of the current music on the Billboard Hot 100. She is all over our televisions, and as of this past September, she is in women’s make up cabinets as she adds her name to the products of fashion daddy Tom Ford. Cardi can also add multiple Grammy nominees to her resume as her debut album Invasion of Privacy scored five nominations. Even after dealing with the not-so-fresh press, following her dust-up with Nicki Minaj at a New York Fashion Week event, fights with strippers and bartenders in strip clubs, beefs with other peripheral, women rappers, and as of recently, breaking up with husband Offset of Migos (more on that later), she has proved her brand is intact.

Unquestionable Success

Cardi B

The Bronx-born half Trinidadian, half Dominican rapper has seamlessly weaved her way through various genres of music as her voice is heard in not just Hip Hop music, but also R&B, and most recently, pop music. She formerly had the highest selling opening week of any female artist in 2018, when her debut album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Top 200 with 255,000 equivalent units her first week of sales tracking. The album has scored near-universal acclaim, headlining and turning out almost all of the worldwide music festivals. She even having to cancel a few after the birth of her daughter Kulture. She has amassed fans from all over the world in the process, and is becoming a global force

To compound the depth of her success, Cardi recently accomplished a feat no other woman rapper has done. She has amassed three No.1 Billboard Hot 100 hits: Bodak Yellow, I Like It, featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin, and a feature on Maroon 5’s Girls Like You that sat at the penthouse of the Billboard Hot 100 charts for seven weeks. With her feature on the remix of Maroon 5’s Girl Like You, spending that many many weeks on the top of the Billboard charts, she also has the accomplishment of spending 11 cumulative weeks at No.1, solidifying her place in Hip-Hop culture. Not only is this noteworthy because it was attained while riding high on the success of her debut, but two of her chart toppers were tracks from her debut album with her first No.1 hit; 2017’s summer banger, Bodak Yellow was a chart-topping success with no features.  While that may seem like a trivial layer of accomplishments to some, to Hip-Hop heads devouring today’s Hip-Hop output, most albums are pregnant with features of contemporary rappers so this is a significant accomplishment. Therefore, none of her detractors are allowed to take away her shine by surmising her success is based on her features or being linked to other famous rappers.

Lastly, to reiterate for effect, her debut album was nominated for five Grammy awards with two of them being in the big four categories: Album of the year and song of the year for I Like It. The other three nominations were for best rap album, best rap performance, and best pop duo/group performance for Girls Like You shared with Maroon 5.

Notoriety’s Dark Side

(Image: Instagram)

As is the case with fame and fortune, detractors and the proverbial haters show themselves and began to tear down whatever success an artist attempts to achieve. People who may have supported her in 2017, now dig through her social media past to come up with problematic material in order to highlight any perceived ignorance, or ratchet behavior as some have termed it. It’s what’s expected of fame and ubiquity. For the most part, hardcore fans and casual listeners alike applaud her for her authenticity and ability to speak on matters with a raw, urbane, assertiveness that is familiar to some, but very much her own. However, others bristle at her ways and predict if she doesn’t get the right people behind her to set her up for continued success, a fall from grace is inevitable.

Cardi hasn’t exactly helped herself at times. There is the bar brawl at Angel’s Strip Club in Queens, New York, where sister bartenders got into a scuffle with members of Cardi B’s entourage in which they were alleged “to have thrown furniture recklessly, causing injuries to employees’ feet and legs,” according to USA Today. It was alleged that the sisters slept with Offset, and that ordering members of her crew to fight them was the rapper’s revenge.

However this lawsuit ends, someone in Cardi’s camp may need financial assistance, for actions of this nature, which will inevitably come from Cardi’s bank account. Settlements for the actions of careless friends rack up and get expensive. Recently, the tide has turned as news of Cardi and Offset’s impending breakup. Cardi took to Instagram to speak on her break up in a video that has since been removed. But here is what she said in a nutshell:

“He’s always somebody that I run to, to talk to — and we got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.”

Many sighed in relief because Offset has a wandering eye, and saw the writing on the wall when she first announced she was pregnant. This is a step in the right direction.

Then there is the ongoing beef with Nicki Minaj that won’t seem to crash, burn, and fade away into the memories of our smartphones. Shots are taken in radio interviews from one side and a brutal response is given on Instagram from the other side, resulting in eight-minute videos, uncovering all the facets of their multilayered squabble. The battle between the women probably won’t be over for some time, especially since Nicki Minaj recently took aim at Cardi B in her “Good Form” video. However, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj’s ex, and the only rapper to publicly get herbed by Drake on wax, dropped a track on Nov. 30, entitled ‘Championships” which features Cardi, Jay-Z, and Meek’s former nemesis, Drake. The track garnered much attention on Twitter as users began trolling Nicki Minaj because of the interesting entanglements of this collaboration — that is Nicki Minaj’s arch-enemy and her ex on the same track.

What Listeners Hope

(Image: Instagram/iamcardib)

What we hope for the young, multiplatinum superstar is longevity in her career. We want the hits to keep coming and for her star to continue to rise. Most importantly, we want her to retain her authenticity; that raw, raucous, New York City, but specifically Bronx way of being that many of us have come to appreciate — even love. We don’t want to see her fall victim to the same pitfalls that have befallen some of the most popular celebrities: bankruptcy, addiction, surrounding oneself with the wrong support system among many things. We hope she follows through with her separation plans from Offset and get far away from him. Offset, like many young rappers with money, fame, and their own brand of ubiquity, are hot in the trousers, attempting to “smash” anything walking. Monogamy is the last quality they will cultivate in relationships.

We want Cardi to make it because we the critics, social scholars, fans, and casual observers alike know ubiquity doesn’t last forever. One day you are on top of the charts, and the next day casual listeners are asking one another, “Remember (insert former celebrity’s name)?”

But in the meantime, keep shining; keep winning; keep reppin’ for New York City and the Boogie Down BX.

Back On? Cardi B and Offset Reunite on a Jet Ski in Puerto Rico

Back on? Cardi B and Offset were spotted together in Puerto Rico on Friday, December 21, two weeks after she announced their split.

TMZ published photos of the “Money” rapper, 26, and the Migos member, 27, riding a jet ski during a pre-holiday vacation. Eyewitnesses told the website that the estranged couple seemed cozy as they enjoyed a sunny day with friends.

Cardi, who is scheduled to perform in San Juan at the Electric Holiday festival on Friday night, was all smiles as she wrapped her arms around Offset, who drove the jet ski through the water.

The former stripper revealed on December 4 that she called it quits with the “Bad and Boujee” rapper just 14 months after they secretly married in the bedroom of their Atlanta home.

“We got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time,” she said in a since-deleted Instagram video. “It’s nobody’s fault. I guess we grew out of love.”

A source later told Us Weekly exclusively that Cardi was “not considering getting back with Offset,” while a second insider revealed that the breakup was “really bothering” the Georgia native.

Offset surprised Cardi on stage during her Rolling Loud Festival performance on December 15 with a floral arrangement that spelled out, “Take Me Back Cardi.” He was criticized on social media for the grand gesture, but his estranged wife was quick to defend him during an Instagram Live session.

“Violating my baby father isn’t going to make me feel any better, because at the end of the day, that’s still family,” she said, referencing the pair’s 5-month-old daughter, Kulture.

More recently, a source told Us, “Cardi and Offset will spend Christmas together … for their daughter.”

Azealia Banks Slams Offset For Cardi B Ambush And 21 Savage Supports Him During A Concert And Gets The Crowd To Sing ‘Cardi, Take Offset Back’

It was recently reported that Offset managed to embarrass Cardi even more during one of her concerts. The man showed up on stage during one of her shows to beg her once again to take him back.

People understood that he had the best intentions, but Cardi was not impressed at all, and it’s quite understandable.

After doing this, Offset posted a message on social media in which he was saying that he felt like a public apology was necessary after his cheating became a public matter as well.

This message did not impress fans at all, and they slammed him saying that he is only sorry because he got caught.

More celebrities got themselves involved in the drama and supported Cardi B or Offset. For instance, Azealia Banks also chose to speak on the recent events surrounding Cardi B, and Offset.

‘I think it’s messed up that men think it’s okay to desecrate her workspace with their opinions of what she should be doing. No clue why think it’s okay to just barge in on women when they feel like it,’ she posted on Instagram.

She continued and wrote that ‘If it were the other way around they would be bashing the woman saying she’s no good, calling her a hoe, etc. etc…but since it’s the man they expect it to be accepted as part of his hip-hop persona and everyone will rush to defend them.’

Another rapper, 21 Savage seems to be ‘team Offset’ because he got the crowd to ask Cardi to take her hubby back during a concert.

21 Savage got everyone chanting, ‘Cardi B, Take Offset Back!’

What do you think Cardi should do?

Watch: Tank Says Offset Needs to Keep Showing the World He Wants Cardi B Back [Video]

If you ask Tank, Offset needs to tell everyone he can that he wants Cardi B back.

via TMZ:

We got the rapper Saturday night in the ATL, at the State Farm Arena for the V-103 Winterfest when he threw down his game plan for Offset … shout out to the world that you want your wife back. “Be Loud, be apologetic with everything you do until you get your wife back,” he says.

Tank doesn’t know if his plan will work, but that leads him into a super interesting view of human nature.  He’s not buying the whole, give-him-a-second-chance thing, because Tank thinks humans are so flawed — so imperfect — that sometimes people should get 4th and 5th chances.

Sounds like Offset is heeding his advice.

Judge Issues Orders Of Protection In Cardi B Case

(AP Photo)

NEW YORK (AP) — A judge has issued orders of protection against platinum rapper Cardi B in a case involving a melee at a New York strip club.

Cardi B appeared in court Friday after a summons was issued on Oct. 1 for misdemeanor reckless endangerment and assault.

Her lawyer has said she didn’t harm anybody.

Police said Cardi B and her entourage were at the club when she argued with a 23-year-old bartender. They say a fight broke out during which chairs, bottles and hookah water pipes were thrown, slightly injuring the woman and another employee.

Cardi B’s “Invasion of Privacy” is among the nominees announced Friday for the 2019 Grammy Awards’ album of the year. She scored a total of five nominations.

Cardi B’s Producer, Other Top Producers, Host Music Beat Auction

We’ve heard of silent auctions, but this is a new one. Top producers in music have gotten together to host a private Beat Auction giving the opportunity to upcoming and established music professionals to acquire high-quality compositions that are not easily accessible otherwise. Some of these producers include Zaytoven, one of the most sought-after producers in hip-hop; Drumma Boy, a popular Atlanta notable; J White, the man behind most of Cardi B’s productions; AnonXmous, known for hits like “Anaconda” by Nicki Minaj, and a slew of others. The Beat Auction was hosted by Atlanta’s own, Dj Holiday.

The evening unfolded with each producer showcasing their beats to a room full of ready and waiting auctioneers. Bids started at $ 300 and went as high as $ 1200. This is incredible considering the prices of beats from this caliber of individuals can typically range from tens of thousands of dollars upward and many times include royalties on an artist’s album that keeps them getting paid long after they’ve handed over the beat.

So why a beat auction?

“After years of working within the music industry, I have come across countless talented artist with promising potential,” said Khady Thiam Gueye, founder and CEO of TMI, and the creator of the concept. “Often times the only thing standing in their way of a hit record is quality production. A lack of resources has forced many artists to settle for mediocre, overused beats from either YouTube or beginner producers. I knew we had to bridge that gap and provide artists with the opportunity to catapult their music careers through industry standard, exclusive compositions from legendary producers.”

The overall goal is to ultimately revolutionize the way hit records are created. As the team continues to host Beat Auctions across a global platform, they foresee international collaborations leading to billboard topping records. By widening the door of opportunity, they anticipate a wave of new mainstream artists, as well as sensational emerging producers whose talents would otherwise go unnoticed.

All proceeds went to “Music Education Group” a group formed to bring music, film, and digital music based education to underserved youth.

Cardi B Ordered to Appear in Court for Alleged Bartender Attack or Face Arrest

The judge presiding over the Cardi B strip club beatdown case isn’t playing around!

If she doesn’t show up in court, she WILL be arrested.

via TMZ:

Cardi’s legal team was in court Monday — without the rapper — for a hearing about the August incident. We’re told prosecutors expressed their frustration that Cardi herself was a no-show considering they’ve already given her a 6-week extension on the case … so they asked the judge to issue a bench warrant.

The judge denied the immediate request, but did issue a serious warning — Cardi must appear in court Friday morning — or there will most likely be a warrant issued.

Cardi’s defense team also revealed in court they’ve been having a tough time getting in touch with her directly — instead only communicating through Cardi’s management team — and only found out Thursday Cardi had a prior commitment that would prevent her from attending Monday’s hearing.

TMZ broke the story … Cardi is accused of unleashing her posse on 2 strip club bartenders — Jade and Baddie Gi — and badly injuring both. Jade told us … prior to the attack, Cardi had threatened her for months, accusing the two of sleeping with her husband, Offset.

Did we mention that these are the same bartenders Nicki Minaj recently featured in her “Good Form” music video?

Fran Drescher dishes on ‘The Nanny’ reboot with Cardi B

Maybe they’ll call it “Nanny B.” Fran Drescher says she’s still talking to rap superstar Cardi B about working together on a TV series: either a re-imagining of “The Nanny” — Drescher’s classic CBS sitcom turning 25 on Saturday — or possibly as a mother/daughter TV combo in some other show. “Look, it probably isn’t…

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B Call a Truce After Hours of Intense Feuding Online

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B appear to have put an end to weeks of mutual insults culminating in a day of back and forth that began with an altercation at a New York Fashion Week party in September.

Video from the event hosted by Harper’s Bazar appeared to show Cardi being escorted out by security with a large bump on her head after she reportedly threw a shoe at Minaj. Since then, the pair have been trading barbs over social media, radio and in the press.

But now they have agreed to take a break from the spat, with Minaj tweeting Tuesday morning that she wanted to focus on “positive things only”:

Cardi then posted the tweet to her Instagram, adding her own pledge to be positive.

The dispute had reached dramatic proportions late on Monday, with Cardi posting ten videos of herself on Instagram in which she accused Cardi of leaking her phone number in the wake of the Fashion Week encounter.

She also suggested she was considering suing Minaj for “defamation of character” after her claims that Cardi had bought her way into charts by paying radio stations to play her songs.

Now, though, it looks like the spat won’t be moving from Instagram to the courtroom any time soon.

Cardi B and Selena Gomez’s “Taki Taki” music video is here, and you’re gonna need to sit down for this one

We absolutely live for music collaborations. So when Cardi B took to Instagram in August to tease an upcoming collab with Selena Gomez, we almost lost our minds with excitement.

On August 24th, Cardi posted a behind-the-scenes pic from the set of a new music video. The pic showed four director’s chairs, and the names on the backs of the chairs included Cardi, DJ Snake, rapper Ozuna, and, yep, one for queen Selena Gomez. (Oh, and there was also a tiny chair for Kulture. LOL.)

Selena also took to Instagram to share pics from set.

She then shared a series of videos on her Instagram Story that showed everyone looking fierce in fiery red.

And now, we officially have the “Taki Taki” music video, and it’s (literal) FIRE.

The sets, the effects, the ensembles. This video is seriously even more red hot than we hoped, and we’re 100% down for this collab.

Outfit Formula: Casual Maxi Cardi

Most of my clients wear long cardigans with a lot of enthusiasm. They enjoy the comfort, ease, relaxed vibe, and forgiving fit over the shoulders, bust and midsection. Long cardigans are especially good for a work-at-home lifestyle, or as a topper to keep at the office for when it’s chilly.

The maxi cardigan is extra long and dramatic, and that’s the showpiece for this outfit formula. If it’s a little too long for your taste, substitute the maxi for a shorter version that is just above the knee.

Here are four easy outfit ideas that look fresh. Choose any colour palette and feel free to throw in patterns.

1. Draped & Booted

Combine a pair of slim-fit jeans or pants with a draped knit or woven top that’s worn over the jeans. Top it off with a maxi cardi and scrunch the sleeves for structure. Finish off the outfit with booties, pumps, oxfords or loafers.

Eloquii Lightweight Duster

2. ‘90s Fabness

I’m not a ‘90s gal, but I do like the subtle allure of this combination, and that the boots are flat. Combine a soft and flowy midi dress with a maxi cardi. Scrunch the sleeves for structure. Finish off the look with a pair of tailored and high-shaft tough boots. This is a fab way to insulate a dress, and dress down a dress. Add hosiery for warmth.

Treasure and Bond Belted Long Cardigan

3. Wide Crops & Waisted

Combine a fluid or fitted top with a pair of wide crops (culottes will do just fine). Tuck or semi-tuck the top for structure. Wear a shorter top if tucking is not your thing. Top it off with a maxi cardigan and a pair of shoes that work with the outfit. The white sneakers here effectively pick up the white of the tee and bookend the model’s blonde hair.

Belstaff Sherdley Cardigan

4. Bootcuts Your Way

Combine a pair of bootcuts or wider flares with a fitted or fluid top. Wear the top your way — tucked or untucked — and create a high or low contrast with the bootcuts. Wear flats or heels but make sure the length of the flares are perfect (as you see here). Top the lot off with a maxi cardigan. Finish off the look with jewellery, eyewear and watch as desired.

Mango Faux Fur Knit Cardigan

I will sit this one out because I’m not a cardigan gal, and especially not a long cardi gal. They make my narrow shoulders look even narrower, and further lengthen my very long neck. As a result I don’t feel fab in a cardigan, unless you take me back to the ‘80s when I wore long cardigans with gigantic shoulder pads and loved it. I will enjoy this look on YOU.
