Not So Fast! Russell Wilson Did NOT Buy Ciara Her Masters as a Christmas Gift

Ciara recently launched her own label imprint, Beauty Marks Entertainment, and at the time of her announcement a rumor began to circulate that husband Russell Wilson bought the master recordings from Ciara’s discography and gave them to her.

That report isn’t true.

via Complex:

Over the weekend, a report from Media Take Out started gaining traction in which it was alleged that Wilson bought the masters from Jive and Epic. “Russell bought her the masters and gave them to her, in her name only,” a “music executive” and “insider” told the gossip site, adding that the gifting took place in 2017.

However, sources close to the couple told Complex that Russell Wilson did not purchase Ciara her masters as a Christmas gift.

We had a feeling the rumor was a bit far-fetched. If true, it would’ve been an amazing gesture!

Emilia Clarke says Last Christmas casting was ‘wonderful’

OHMYGOSSIP — Emilia Clarke’s casting in ‘Last Christmas’ helped her to overcome the disappointment of ‘Game of Thrones’ ending.
The 32-year-old actress – who stars as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO fantasy series – was devastated by the show coming to a close, and was thankful for the opportunity to star alongside Henry Golding in the Paul Feig-directed romantic comedy.
She told the Daily Mail newspaper: “This is it. It’s over and I cried like a baby on the last day. I felt completely lost.
“It was very strange and wonderful to get this [‘Last Christmas’]. This part couldn’t be more opposite, because dragons ain’t funny.
“Ten years is a long time. It’s like losing an actual limb. I was 22 – a child – when I first walked on the ‘Game of Thrones’ set. I grew up with her.”
Henry has recently emerged as one of the up-and-coming stars in Hollywood, having made his feature film debut in ‘Crazy Rich Asians’.
Despite this, the Malaysian actor has insisted he doesn’t want to be “defined as the Asian leading man”.
He said: “I don’t want to be defined as the Asian leading man. I want to be the leading man. Henry Golding.
“If it means helping inspire other Asians to be leading men, hell yeah, I’ll take it. You don’t know how proud I am to have that associated with my name.
“Sadly, we’re so underrepresented that we have to start with these labels to be proud of it, to normalise it. So s**t, I’ll be the next Asian leading man.”

Where to find the best Christmas markets in the world

Technology may have made the world feel like a small place, but when it comes time for the Christmas holiday, many tourists find themselves unsure where they should go. Christmas markets are a legendary and memorable part of holiday travel, but it can be hard to find the best ones.

Well, when it comes to Christmas markets, visiting Europe is simply a no-brainer. The list of good destinations is long, but here are some of the finest places to find the best Christmas markets.

Austria

Whenever Austria is mentioned, we tend to think about it’s capital city, Vienna. In the winter, it’s a magical wonderland, especially from late November to Christmas Eve. The “Vienna magic of advent” boasts of being one the biggest and most popular Christmas markets on the planet. Here, little kids get to explore the fairytale-like workshops, fitted with sparkling tree decorations. And don’t forget the tasty, warm drinks for children and adults!

Getting there doesn’t get any easier than just booking your flight straight to Vienna. The market is usually open from November 17th to December 24th. There are are quite a few fancy hotels around, so you don’t have to worry about safe and comfortable accommodation.

Poland

Poznan Bethlehem is the number one Christmas market in the world. When you visit, you will find yourself transported to a dreamy winter wonderland. Located in the Poznan Freedom Square, it is a sight to see, full of ice and glittering snowflakes. Of course, don’t forget to check out the ice sculpture festival – it just doesn’t happen anywhere else in Europe like it does here. People come from almost all corners of the world to carve massive ice blocks, turning them into sublime pieces of art that leave you in awe.

You also get to treat yourself to the traditional Polish cuisine, and you can even choose to embark on a private food tour.

The opening dates are from November 17th to December 21st. The two major airports nearby are Bydgoszcz and Wroclaw. The best and most affordable accommodations are located at the heart of Poznan, just about 200 meters from the Old Market Square.

Germany

Germany is definitely the first place you think of when discussing European Christmas markets. Aachen is the place to be during that special time of the year. The atmosphere is so glorious that it has made the Aachen Christmas Market world famous. The streets and squares are transformed into a wonderland full of bright colors, lights, and festive fragrances.

Everyone is always in a friendly mood, and people from all over the world come to mingle and interact with each other like no other time. The market normally opens from the November 23rd to the December 23rd. You can book your flight and land at the nearest airports in Cologne or Brussels.

Style Scenario: Santa on Christmas Eve

What are you going to wear? Or in this instance, what is HE going wear? St. Nick has a huge job ahead of him. Lots of miles to cover, lots of soot filled chimneys to get down, lots of cookie crumbs & milk spills to avoid. It’s a dirty job, but that doesn’t mean Santa can’t look sharp while doing it. Here’s what he might wear while putting another 25k-50k miles on the sleigh. (Top Photo Credit)

Style Scenario: Santa on Christmas Eve | Dappered.com

The Sweater: Suitsupply Wool/Cashmere Turtleneck – $ 169. A splurge, but… c’mon. He’s gotta be comfortable and look great on the big night. Great for keeping the arctic blast off his neck. 70 % wool and 30% cashmere. Mrs. Claus has been experimenting with paleo eating habits this year, and in the process St. Nick has shed a little weight around the middle thanks to cutting out most carbs. Thus, a trimmer fitting sweater from Suitsupply this time around. Want something cheaper? Try this from Orvis or this from Woolovers.

The Pants: BR x Kevin Love Soft Stretch Athletic Tapered Chino – $ 43.99 ($ 98). Banana Republic’s collaboration with Kevin Love has produced some really, really nice stuff. And now that these are on sale and an additional half off? They’re at a GAP level price point.

The Watch: Citizen Nighthawk – $ 189.98. With all those tight brick chimneys, this isn’t the night to break out the rose gold Rolex that Mrs. Claus gave him for a 1500th anniversary present. Yes, the Elves in R&D finally got around to updating the software on the sled, so he can now keep track of all the time zones and his sleigh-to-tree-to-sleigh split times with the on-board computer, but just in case they have a power failure he favors an aviation style watch. You never know when you’re gonna need a slide rule. It came in super handy that one year when the alternator failed over Prague.

The Belt: Weifert Stretch Woven Elastic Belt – $ 11.58. Yes that’s a stretchy woven belt. Do you have any idea as to how many cookies he’s got to wolf down that night?

The Coat: Custom Gore-Tex Cashmere-Lined Topcoat w/ Horween Leather Belt. One of a kind. Made by the Mrs. w/ help from Elf Q Branch. Not pictured: Matching hat with drop down night vision equipped face shield, as well as a wireless blue tooth ear piece connected to NORAD via the on-sleigh wi-fi hotspot.

The Base Layer: L.L. Bean Made in Canada Cotton/Wool Union Suit – $ 69.00. Santa’s a classics guy, so although the new-fangled neoprene base layers may wick moisture better, he’s still going with a traditional union suit. At least it does have a layer of wool in there, so that’ll function a bit better than the super old-school all cotton long johns.

The Socks: Wigwam Pikes Pro Lightweight Outdoor Crew Socks in Charcoal – $ 17. Nylon/Merino blend with enough cushioning and blister prevention properties to keep his feet happy while circumnavigating the globe.

The Boots: Allen Edmonds Longbranch in Black – $ 276 ($ 395). With red laces, of course. Port Washington isn’t that far from his place, so Santa’s been frequenting Allen Edmonds for years. The Longbranch is like an even tougher version of the Dalton. Wingtip details, textured leather, and a lug sole. Perfect for Christmas Eve, with all of those slippery rooftops and what not.

The Air Freshener: Car Freshener Royal Pine – $ 0.77. You try sitting behind eight tiny reindeer (or nine, depending on the weather) for an entire evening.

The Nice/Naughty List + Pen: Waterproof Field Notes – $ 12.95 | Fisher Space Pen – $ 40. Were you expecting an iPad? The master list stays on the scrolls at the pole, but for the big night, a duplicate is transcribed to a pack of weather resistant “Expedition” Field Notes. Meanwhile, the pen works in extreme temperatures and will write from any angle. Even in zero gravity. And that’s perfect for maintaining order on the list when Blitzen gets a wild hair up his tuckus and leads the team on spontaneous inverted aerial maneuvers over the Aegean.

The Gloves: Ralph Lauren Quilted Gloves in Black – $ 46.80 ($ 78). Warm, but also offers the dexterity and durability to handle the reins with authority. Touch screen compatible too, so he can easily swipe through his various routes for the evening.

The Goggles: Mark 4 Split Lens Flight Goggles – $ 88Sheepskin face cushion. Prescription progressive lenses by the Reykjavik Costco Optical Department. After market heads up display via DARPA.

The Cap/Crash Helmet: Shearling Sheepskin Leather Aviator Cap – $ 49.99. Santa has taken some spills on rooftops over the millennia, so to stay compliant with concussion protocol, Papa Elf has recently added this to St. Nick’s kit. Sheepskin base keeps him warm, while the safety team has added aftermarket padding based on the crystalline atomic structure of marshmallow fluff.

Sherlock Holmes, John Watson and a Christmas gift of friendship

Getty

Every year, at the close of the year, I read Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle,” and I ask myself a question: Have two characters in literature ever loved each other more than Sherlock Holmes and John Watson did?

We often find the greatest potency in what I think of as semi-official capacities. An official capacity would be, say, your marriage. That person you are married to is meant to be, so we think, your main “go-to.” We assume there is potency in straightforward, forceful statement. But have you ever noticed that little in this life is more potent than a question, and that a question is always at least one statement? Usually it’s many statements at once. “Do you love me?” can also mean, “You might not love me now,” or “Maybe you once loved me and stopped doing so,” or “It’s conceivable that you’ve never loved me.” What if there’s no greater love than friendship, and it is friendship that is the root of any great love, no matter the form that love takes? These are other questions I ask myself when I read “The Adventures of the Blue Carbuncle” at Christmastime, and it leads to a statement: This is how the best of relationships ought to be.

If you’re not familiar with this story, let us imagine that we are sitting somewhere together—in a tavern, say—and you are about to learn something heartening. The story first appeared in the January 1892 edition of The Strand, Doyle’s standard stomping grounds for his Holmes tales, and was later collected in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes for book publication in October of that year.

Zonnique Pullins’ Latest Christmas Photo Is Not Appreciated By Her Fans: ‘Try Another Angle’

Zonnique Pullins spent this Christmas with her BF, Bandhunta Izzy, and also together with her whole family: her mom, Tiny Harris, brothers, and more friends and siblings after she was on vacation with Izzy in the Bahamas.

T.I. was not in the Christmas family photo and this sparked debate on whether he was taking the pic or he simply was not there.

Anyway, if Zonnique’s pics from her Bahamas vacay were highly praised by her fans and followers, it seems that her latest Christmas photo in which she’s posing with the Christmas tree was not too appreciated online.

‘Friends aren’t friends if they don’t tell u “try another angle”’ someone told Zonnique in the comments section.

Another follower defended Zonnique and said ‘No it’s not the most flattering picture but yall ruthless out here lol she still looks beautiful at the end of the day.’

Someone else alsodefendedTiny’s daughter and said that if people slam someone with a natural body, it’s obvious that women will get cosmetic surgeries more and more: ‘I can’t believe y’all would shame her frame & then you wonder why h*es is fake.’

Someone said that ‘She had to do that angle she had surgery on her eyes remember one of them is crooked but still gorgeous tho.’

Another fan guesses that Zonnique must be pregnant: ‘Beautiful but I think there’s a bundle of joy hidden 😍❤’ This is not the first time that she sparks pregnancy rumors.

Someone gushed over her and said ‘Gaining all the good weight. 😍💯

We believe that Zonnique is a very pretty girl who has all the reasons to be proud of her natural body and show it off whenever she wants.

Ho, Ho, Ho! This Christmas, Phaedra Parks Wants You To Keep Your Peach ‘Sweet & Fresh’ With These Products

Atlanta Junket For The New Warner Bros. Movie EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING

Source: Paras Griffin / Getty

It’s no secret that Phaedra Parks is the queen of side hustles. Not only is she a lawyer and a mortician, but she is now dabbling in the feminine products game.

Enter: My Healthy Peach.

According to TMZ, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star is collaborating with Tatianna Knights RN, BSN, a labor and delivery nurse, for a new line to help women have “a nice juicy fresh peach and a sweet peach.”

“I am introducing a new product line. You know I’m known for my ‘badookadonk,’ but my new product line has to do something about…with your vagina,” Phaedra said during a recent gathering of friends at her Atlanta home for a “Ladies Night Out” event.

“So my new product line ‘The Healthy Peach,’ is about not having a tart peach,” the mother of two said. “I want the peaches to be sweet and fresh.”

“My Healthy Peach will make you juicy and sweet.

The line, which is free of sulfates, parabens and most harsh chemicals, seems to be doing well. According to the company’s website, the $ 12.50 box of wipes appear to be sold out.

In addition, it appears that Phaedra is making amends with her former cast mates, including Nene Leakes. Here’s a picture of her, Nene, Greg Leakes and Cynthia Bailey celebrating Nene’s birthday.

“#birthday#joy with @neneleakes @greggleakes@cynthiabailey10 @marlohampton@tammepha #reunited and it felt good 😜,” she wrote.

Instagram Photo

“We keep in touch and we talk,” Phaedra revealed on a recent episode of TV One’s Sister Circle. “Her husband is going through Cancer, so I’ve been trying to support her.”

Phaedra also hinted that she is open to returning to RHOA–if asked.

“And you know never say never, it’s a new year who knows,” she offered. “But like I tell people I’m an old-fashioned girl and I have five degrees as we all know. So I really don’t have to do anything I don’t want to. I have companies, and jobs and businesses.”

Guess only time will tell if she returns to the Bravo hit show AND if these wipes will continue to keep selling out.

The Weekend Reset: Merry Christmas fellas.

It’s Friday. Looking for something to switch up your weekend, or to give you an excuse to relax a little? That’s what the Weekend Reset is for. Each week contributor Tim Johnstone pulls together five things to get your weekend started. Could be something to read or watch, something to eat or listen to, or even something to do. Enjoy the weekend fellas.

WRAP: Because sometimes wrapping is a pain in the jingle bells.

This entire post is handy for those who find wrapping presents a challenge. From odd-sized packages to bottles of wine (because gift bags are soooo 1995) and other wrapping tips, this is pretty handy right about now. One-pan slow-roasted leg of lamb with scalloped potatoes | Taste.com

Thanks for the great feedback about these one-pot recipes. Dappered reader Travis inspired this week’s recipe. This slow-roasted leg of lamb dish borders on comfort food with the addition of scalloped potatoes. It makes for an impressive winter meal. Yes, the recipe is Aussie so you’ll need to convert from metric (hello search engine of choice). Aside from that, it is not terribly complicated and should be worth the attention. For more one-pot main dishes for the holidays, check out this post.

Toya Wright Sends An Important Message To Fans Ahead Of Christmas With A Family Photo – People Say That Reigny Is The Spitting Image Of Her Dad

Toya Wright wanted to express something very important with her latest photo and message that she shared on her social media account. Check it out below:

Toya wrote ‘put down your phone and step away from the computer. Enjoy your family this holiday season. Happy Holidays from our Family to yours. 🎅🏽🎄🎁

Someone said ‘And meanwhile Your whole Entire Family is on phones and computers 😂🤣😂. Very Beautiful Family photo ❤’ Of course, Toya only wanted to highlight her message with the picture which is somewhat a sarcastic one.

Someone else said ‘Toya, you and your hubby and the baby was pretending for the camera, the two older girls were using their phone for real I’m sure lol.’

One of Toya’s fans said that Reingy looks just like her dad: ‘Reign looks JUST like her father OMGEEEEE!!!! Beautiful family❤

Another commenter posted ‘I am Happy to see you and your family so Happy. May God continue to Bless you, and I pray that he gives you all of your hearts desires. Blessings Sis.’

One other supported also believes that Reigny is Robert’s twin: ‘Reign don’t look exactly like her daddy ….he spit her out literally. She is him all over again.’

In other news, there were some rumors claiming that Toya and Robert made their relationship official, but it turned out that the rumors are not accurate.

It all began from a clip of TI And Tiny’s: Friends And Family Hustle, released on the 17th of December, Toya joked to Tiny that she and Robert had decided to get married privately. But it was only a joke.

Why Christmas Can’t Quit Trans-Siberian Orchestra, 20 Years Later

Daniel Knighton/Getty

In 1993, a man named Paul O’Neill got a call from Atlantic Records. At the time, O’Neill was pretty well known among New York music labels. He worked at a major management firm and he was producing a minorly successful metal group called Savatage (a combo of the words “avatar” and “savage”). But Savatage’s last album hadn’t done well, and the Atlantic exec had a proposal: O’Neill should start his own group. “I said I’d love to do it,” O’Neill said later in an interview with Arte Concert. But he had a condition. “I said I want to do a progressive metal band that does mostly rock operas…I want four guitar players, two drummers, a full symphony in the studio, but not a symphony on the road…and 24 lead singers.” He had another ask. The rock operas would, for the most part, all be about Christmas.

Thursday night, about 15,000 people crowded into the Nassau County Veterans Memorial Coliseum, to hear the fruits of O’Neill’s phone call: the progressive metal holiday-rock-opera-machine, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, or TSO.

It’s been 25 years since O’Neill first pitched his project, and 20 since the group first started touring, but TSO has spent almost all of that time, bewilderingly, as one of the biggest breadwinners in the music industry. The Christmas melody maker has put out four holiday rock operas, three non-holiday rock operas, a Christmas EP, and a Christmas compilation, four of which have debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, four of which have gone platinum (two of them more than once), and all of which, collectively, have sold over 12 million records, grossing some $ 700 million in revenue. Since 1999, the band has played to over 15 million people, and many of them come back for more—in 2014, the Wall Street Journal reported that repeat customers comprise 50 percent of the audience.

This Mars crater will definitely have a white Christmas

As we creep ever closer to December 25th, there are plenty of people in the United States and abroad that are hoping there’s at least a light dusting of snow on the ground for the biggest gift-giving holiday of the year. You might not imagine Mars would be the best place to look for winter…

Opinion: A Diva’s Christmas Carol, the ’00s TV movie starring Vanessa Williams, is the only Charles Dickens remake we need

Opinion: <em>A Diva’s Christmas Carol</em>, the ’00s TV movie starring Vanessa Williams, is the only Charles Dickens remake we need

Author Michael Arceneaux attempted to create a definitive ranking of every A Christmas Carol remake—until he realized the VH1 movie starring Vanessa Williams is the only one that actually matters. Here’s why.

Recently, Toni Braxton starred in the Lifetime film Every Day Is Christmas. In it, Braxton played a money manager named Alexis Taylor, a workaholic who can’t stand love and is far more fixated on “the mu-mu-muny, yen and the pesos” (there’s always room for Nicki Minaj references, folks) than anything else. This is much to the detriment of her employees and everyone else around her, minus her driver who is secretly wishing to date her. Ultimately, her rude self gets visited by a few spirits from various time periods who basically scare her into being a better person. If this sounds familiar, yes, it is inspired by the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol.

I love Christmas programming, and despite her blocking me on Twitter without cause, I adore Braxton (a diva and national treasure, whom I consider the Shug Avery of R&B—a compliment). I watched it, and, unfortunately, Every Day Is Christmas wasn’t it, y’all. It wasn’t even a fraction of it. Like, Toni Braxton sings like Anita Baker and wants to marry Birdman of Cash Money Records fame. In other words, there’s a lot of personality to work with here, and yet, this movie was sort of sedative in its presentation. It wasn’t horrible, but it lacked oomph.

Again, I’m a sucker for Xmas (I didn’t take the Christ out of Christmas, just Google it) and I’m into A Christmas Carol in general, so I’m always intrigued whenever anyone tries to recreate the tale. Actors will always look for an easy check, and couple that with Hollywood’s disinterest in new ideas, and this story will be redone again and again and again. Perhaps, one day, some creative will try to deliver the film equivalent of “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (as in a modern Christmas classic), but until then, here we are.

In hindsight, as much as I love A Christmas Carol, I’m realizing that many have failed miserably in their attempts to create a new spin that’s worth a damn.

Much like Entertainment Weekly writer Mary Sollosi’s attempt last year, I went into this piece looking to do a ranking of the best versions—only to realize many of them were so-so or flat out sucked.

So-so spins of the classic tale would include Mickey’s Christmas Carol, which might have been all the rage when I was a kid who mostly consumed chicken nuggets, but now I’m a thirty-something man who still eats a lot of chicken nuggets, but also has a heightened palate in terms of entertainment consumption. In other words, Mickey Mouse could have tried harder.

To be fair to Mickey, at least he tried harder than that terrible animated version with Tim Curry from the 1990s, or that other 2000s animated version with Nicolas Cage—but neither stepped it up like Miss Piggy in The Muppet Christmas Carol. (If you’re a cartoon or puppet-like thing, look to Miss Piggy for guidance when recreating Dickens’s story.)

If you’re a human, there are really only two other options to model your film after. You could turn to Bill Murray, whose film Scrooged, was pretty good. Yes, I’m complimenting a cisgender heterosexual white man at the end of 2018 in this political climate, but it’s the holidays. I’m feeling festive and generous.

Bill Murray did much better than, say, Kelsey Grammer, who made a musical version of A Christmas Carol in 2004. I still haven’t forgiven Frasier for what he did to Camille Grammer on the inaugural season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but I revisited clips of that mess for this assignment. Let’s just say forgiveness will take even longer now.

When it comes right down to it, the only person who matters in the context of A Christmas Carol—outside of Charles Dickens himself, the dearly departed—is Vanessa Williams.

If you have never seen A Diva’s Christmas Carol, it’s time to atone.

In the 2000 film, Williams plays Ebony Scrooge, an international pop star that wouldn’t spit on her BFF if she was on fire.

It features Chilli from TLC, Kathy Griffin, and other people whose names I’ve forgotten, though it doesn’t matter because it’s all about Vanessa Williams. It originally aired on VH1, so it was full of pop culture references, music, and, more importantly, has Vanessa Williams. Let the record show that not only is A Diva’s Christmas Carol the best spin on A Christmas Carol—it’s one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time (I hope you didn’t hear that in Kanye West’s voice since he’s on the naughty list).

While I cannot share the bootleg of A Diva’s Christmas Carol posted on YouTube, I can strongly encourage you to search your channel guide and set your DVR if you’ve never seen it. Or use your friends’ passwords to stream it—whatever it takes. Just treat yourself to its splendor.

And for those of you who still seek to recreate A Christmas Carol, please try to be more like Vanessa Williams. You’re welcome.

Last week Nas and Swizz Beatz linked up for a mesmerizing visual in “Echo” and today the Queensbridge king returns to assist The Black Eyed Peas on one of their tracks.

In the CGI backed visuals to “BACK 2 HIPHOP” the three man group don old school Hip-Hop clothes and gold while Nas’s verse features a rapping sphinx a la I Am…’s album cover. Pretty clever way to include Nas in the video.

Lil Jon meanwhile comes out of hiding and links up with Kool-Aid Man to get in the Christmas spirit in the clip to “All I Really Want For Christmas.” Whose idea was this?!

Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from YBN Nahmir featuring Wiz Khalifa, O.T. Genasis, and more.
