Keanu Reeves What Happens When We Die Theory Goes Viral – Watch His Video With Stephen Colbert Here

In a bizarre turn of events, Keanu Reeves gave a profound answer when Stephen Colbert asked the actor what he thinks happens when we die. It was a heavy topic for the late-night show host, and Reeves answer left Colbert speechless.

Mortality is certainly not a topic most celebrities want to discuss when they are doing the talk show circuit. However, it was brought up thanks to Reeves talking about the plot for the upcoming third installment in the cult Bill and Ted franchise. He was discussing the plot for the flick, which is tentatively titled Bill and Ted Face the Music, when the subject of mortality was inevitable.

The plot as Reeves explains, has Bill and Ted writing a song that must reunite the broken universe or life as everyone knows it will be over. They have only minutes to complete the song, which is all about invoking peace in the world. If the crazy duo fails, then the current space-time continuum will be finished.

Once Reeves finished explaining the premise of the movie, Colbert brought up the question that changed their entire conversation.

“So you’re facing your own mortality and the mortality of all existence,” the Late Night With Stephen Colbert host asked before questioning the actor’s thoughts on what he thinks happens to people when we die.

“I know that the ones who love us will miss us,” the 54-year simply stated.

He didn’t say much, but his message left the host speechless. Colbert was silent before reaching over to shake Reeves’ hand and reminding the audience John Wick 3 movie opens later this week.

Keanu Reeves is a man of few words. However, his words regarding what happens to people when they die has made him go viral. They are not only 100% accurate; they are absurdly beautiful. Don’t you agree?

The actor is no stranger to losing someone to death. He was best friends with actor River Phoenix when he passed away from a drug overdose at the age of 23.

Reeves and ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Syme had a stillborn daughter back in 1998. Three years later Syme tragically died in a car crash. However, given the loss he suffered, Reeves has some pretty insightful and not bitter words about death.

Fans can catch Bill and Ted Face the Music in theaters in August 2020.

Stephen Colbert uses strong Harry Potter comparison to describe the full Mueller report

TwitterFacebook

Attorney General William Barr’s four-page summary of Robert Mueller’s almost two-year investigation is a little too short for many, as the House Judiciary Committee approved a subpoena to obtain the full report on Wednesday.

It’s hard to relate to exactly how long that kind of read is, but The Late Show host Stephen Colbert put it into terms we’d understand.

“Barr’s summary was not quite four pages long, while the full Mueller report is nearly 400 pages. That’s Harry Potter length,” he quipped in Wednesday night’s monologue.

“Everybody wants to read Donny Trump and the Idiot of Azkaban! And the Goblet of Covfefe.”  Read more…

Colbert Grills Tulsi Gabbard on Bashar Assad Defense

Scott Kowalchyk/CBS

Stephen Colbert got through a few pleasantries with Tulsi Gabbard on Monday night before getting to the question that is going to dog the Democrat from Hawaii for her entire run for the presidency in 2020.

As Gabbard, a veteran of the Iraq War, began to make her case against “regime change” by the United States around the world, the Late Show host jumped in with, “But if it is someone like Bashar al-Assad who gasses his own people or engages in war crimes against his own people, should the United States not be involved?”

“The United States should not be intervening to overthrow these dictators and regimes that we don’t like,” Gabbard said definitively, whether it is Assad or Saddam Hussein or Kim Jong Un or anyone else, because, she argued, history shows we only “end up increasing the suffering of the people in these countries.”

Stephen Colbert Exposes Trump’s Weak Obstruction of Justice Defense

This week, The New York Times went deep on all the ways President Donald Trump has tried to obstruct justice in the various investigations into his potential misdeeds over the past two years. But as Stephen Colbert pointed out in his Late Show monologue Wednesday, “Most of the stuff in the article wasn’t even secret.”

“We knew about his flagrant attempts to stop investigations into what Russia did to our election,” the host said, noting that even the Times article acknowledged that, “Americans have lost track of how unusual his behavior is.”

“Please don’t do that,” Colbert pleaded. “Please don’t lose track. I just want to remind you that that mildly nauseous feeling you have is because for the past two years Donald Trump has been spinning you in a tumble dryer full of turd. It’s all lies!”

John Oliver Booed on Colbert for Admitting Trump Could Be Re-Elected in 2020

Scott Kowalchyk/CBS

Before he makes his long-awaited return to HBO this coming Sunday, John Oliver kicked off the week on Monday with a sit-down with his old Daily Show colleague Stephen Colbert.

Asked if he’s “feeling good” with high confidence heading into the new season, Oliver laughed and replied, “Confidence high? No. My confidence is never high. Self-loathing high, concern astronomic.” When Colbert noted that Oliver is returning just after what could be the halfway point of Donald Trump’s presidency—saying, “the end is in sight”—he elaborated on those feelings.

“I definitely don’t have that kind of optimism. To say we’re halfway through his presidency I think is to ignore the concept of second term possibility. We are two to six years away from the end his presidency,” Oliver said. As audience members began to boo, he added, “Oh, wow. Are there some big Trump 2024 fans in here?”

Stephen Colbert slams Trump’s new favorite term ‘presidential harassment’

TwitterFacebook

Donald Trump has ramped up his use of a new, favorite term and Stephen Colbert wasted no time calling bullshit.

The Late Show host noted Trump’s use of the catchphrase “presidential harassment” to describe investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

“Presidential harassment: It’s like sexual harassment, only the Republicans take it seriously,” Colbert said around the five-minute mark of Thursday’s monologue.

Colbert also noted Trump’s recent tweet reiterating the term, in which the president wrote, “The Republicans never did this to President Obama.”

“Have you been huffing the Aqua Net?” said Colbert. “We were all alive then, none of us were in a coma. All they did was investigate him — the IRS, the ATF, the ACA, Solyndra, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi. They didn’t subpoena his taxes, can you guess why? Hint: He released them.Read more…

Stephen Colbert Mocks Trump’s Pre-Super Bowl Comments About Barron and Football

CBS

A special post-Super Bowl episode of The Late Show likely meant an unusually large viewership for Stephen Colbert Sunday night. But that didn’t mean the host was about to pull any of his usual punches against President Donald Trump.

Following an awkward cameo from Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi in the cold open, Colbert came out swinging in a monologue that took on the president’s pre-game interview with Face the Nation’s Margaret Brennan. He joked that the tradition “goes back to the very first Super Bowl, when Lyndon Johnson made the surprise announcement that he was sending both teams to Vietnam.”

During his CBS sit-down Trump said that he would have a “hard time” letting his son Barron play football. “He likes soccer,” the president said of his youngest. “A lot of people, including me, thought soccer would probably never make it in this country, but it really is moving forward rapidly.”

Stephen Colbert mocks Trump’s tweet about bringing back ‘global waming’

TwitterFacebook

Trump tweeted about global warming again.

On Monday night, the president said on Twitter that he wanted global warming wanted to “come back fast,” because of the freezing temperatures that have hit the midwest. Quick to correct him, and his spelling of “global waming,” however, was Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night.

“These temperatures are actually caused by global ‘waming’ sir. Polar vortex breaks up and dips out, it’s all predicted,” he said. “Besides, just because it’s cold now, it doesn’t mean climate change is a myth.”

Colbert turned the conversation to things that Trump wishes weren’t real, like the Mueller investigation, and a nervy Matthew Whitaker.  Read more…

Stephen Colbert Destroys Fox News’ Tucker Carlson: ‘The Little Racist Who Could’

CBS

Every once in a while Stephen Colbert does a segment on The Late Show that rivals the best of his work on The Colbert Report. Tonight was one of those nights.

With Fox News host Tucker Carlson under fire and losing advertisers after accusing immigrants of making America “poorer and dirtier and more divided” last week, Colbert sat down behind his desk for an old-school takedown. “Carlson’s already got a reputation for flirting with racism, but last week, he took it to a racy new level,” the host began.

After playing a brief clip of Carlson’s comments, the host said, “Now, if just listening to him say that makes you feel dirty and more divided, you’re not alone. Tucker got a lot of heat for those remarks, but he’s nothing if not the little racist who could. And he came chuggin’ back up that hill on Monday with a new reason he doesn’t like immigrants: He just cares so darn much about the environment.”

Stephen Colbert Mocks Trump’s ‘Desperate’ Chief of Staff Search

We weren’t supposed to know about John Kelly’s departure as President Trump’s chief of staff until Monday. As The New York Times reported over the weekend, Trump agreed to let Kelly made the announcement on his own terms. But then before he could do it, the president blurted out the decision to reporters on Saturday.

Imitating Trump, Stephen Colbert said in his Late Show monologue Monday night, “I would like to humbly announce that it was me who dumped him. No matter what he tells you, that’s what happened. I’m the one who said we should see other presidents, OK? I just wasn’t that into him.”

Of course, Trump thought he had a replacement for Kelly lined up in the vice president’s chief of staff, or as Colbert referred to him, “bro who’s not going to let those nerds hold a luau on campus while he’s president of Sigma Phi Epsilon, Nick Ayers.”

Of Course Stephen Colbert Has Plenty of Jokes About Trump at Bush’s Funeral

President Donald Trump attended the funeral of former President George H.W. Bush on Wednesday, and of course, Stephen Colbert, found the humor. “They even assured him that the choir would drown out the sound of other ex-presidents rolling in their graves,” Colbert joked in his monologue on Wednesday night’s episode of The Late Show.

The late-night host pointed out that not insulting Trump was nearly impossible by virtue of comparison, like when Bush’s biographer Jon Meacham said in his eulogy that Bush “life code was: tell the truth; don’t blame people.” Colbert wondered if that was already bending the rules. “As soon as you start praising someone’s honesty, you’re automatically throwing shade at Donald Trump. I mean, Obama made Trump seem like a bad president just by sitting next to him.”

Speaking of former President Barack Obama, Colbert said, “It was quite a moving sight to see the presidents and the first ladies in the front row, waiting to honor President Bush, chatting comfortably with one another,” Colbert said. “Until Trump showed up, and then it became silent-staring time. Donald Trump is the only person in the world who can bring down a funeral.”

Stephen Colbert Explains Why He Wants Trump to Run for President Again in 2020

Scott Kowalchyk/CBS

Last year, Joe Scarborough went on The Late Show to declare his independence from the Republican Party (after hyping Trump for most of the campaign). This week, he urged voters to put a check on Donald Trump in the midterm elections.

Discussing the president’s unconscionable response to the apparent murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, Scarborough’s Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski said, “That can’t be our reality, and at some point this has to end one way or another.”

“You know a great way for it to end is for everybody to get out that gives a damn about this republic and, 19 days from now, go out and vote,” Scarborough said. “Whether you’re a Republican, whether you’re a Democrat, whether you’re an independent, you have to agree that Donald Trump needs to be checked.” Without exactly spelling it out for viewers, he was telling them to vote for Democrats who will be that check, adding, “This is the most important election of our lives.”

Stephen Colbert doesn’t think much of Trump’s ‘natural instinct for science’

TwitterFacebook

Despite his resistance to believing climate change is manmade, which is in opposition to his scientists’ beliefs, Donald Trump told the Associated Press yesterday that he has a “natural instinct for science.”

It’s because of the president’s uncle, MIT professor Dr. John Trump, who it turns out he didn’t talk to “about this particular subject.”

“Why did you bring up your science uncle if you’ve never talked to him about science?” Colbert asked on The Late Show Wednesday night.

“And second, you have a natural instinct for science? That’s not how knowledge works. You don’t inherit it from your uncle. The most you get from your uncle is your own nose back,” he joked. Read more…

Stephen Colbert Made a Musical Kavanaugh Parody

Stephen Colbert had jokes after a former classmate alleged that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh got into a bar fight after attending a UB40 concert in 1985, while he was a student at Yale University.

In a clip aired on Tuesday night, Colbert and the Late Show team parodied UB40’s hit, “Red Red Wine,” with lyrics that reference the controversy surrounding allegations of drunken behavior, along with interpolated clips of Kavanaugh’s testimony in the song.

The song comes after Monday’s reports that inspired the parody; according to a report by the New York Times, the fight allegedly started when Kavanaugh and friends thought they spotted the lead singer of UB40 at a bar, a misunderstanding that escalated.

For their part, UB40 seems to want no part in the Kavanaugh drama, taking to their Twitter to address the renewed focus on their band.
