Who is Dr. Alex George? Love Island 2018 contestant and aspiring TV doctor

LOVE Island contestants will thankfully have a doctor present when emergency drama kicks off.

Last year, Dr Marcel was always on call and this time, Alex George is here to pick up the slack. Here’s all you need to know about this aspiring TV doctor…

Hunky Dr Alex George is hoping to enjoy some mouth-to-mouth action
ITV

Who is Alex George?

Dr. Alex George is an A&E doctor, currently working at the University Hospital Lewisham in south-east London.

The 27-year-old, who is originally from Carmarthen, Wales, studied medicine at Exeter University.

According to the Daily Mail, Alex was able to secure the eight-ten weeks required by working on a zero hours contract.

The controversial contracts mean their bosses are under no obligation to give them work and the hospital are powerless to stop employees from pursuing other projects.

Alex is hoping Love Island will help him become the next big TV doctor
ITV

What has Alex said about Love Island?

It was recently revealed Love Island contestants would face a strict new ban on drunken sex and nudity and Alex has promised to abide by them.

He says: “You’re recorded 24 hours a day and I just want to make sure that I behave in the right way.

I absolutely love my job, I’ve worked since the age of 13 to get here and I go to work every day and I genuinely enjoy it.”

If he finds fame on the show, Alex believes he will still return to his successful career: “I would probably go back and do it part time, if I could mix it with TV work I would.

He added: “I think there’s probably room for a new TV doctor!”

When does Love Island series four start on ITV2?

Love Island series four will start Monday, June 4, at 9pm.

The show will air over eight weeks and among the cast are Cabin Crew member Laura Anderson, Barmaid Dani Dyer, and model Eyal Booker.

Caroline Flack has presented Love Island since it returned to TV in 2015 and will once again be joined by voice-over artist Iain Stirling.

2017’s winner Kem Cetinay is also returning to host a daily spin-off show entitled The Morning After with TV presenter, Arielle Free.

Ninja Warrior’s first ever blind contestant is also London 2012 Paralympian Dan Powell

A LONDON 2012 Paralympian has become the first ever blind contestant to appear on ITV’s Ninja Warrior.

Dan Powell, 26, from Liverpool, will appear on the show tomorrow tackling the challenging assault course despite only have three per cent vision.

And the judo competitor turned runner says the show was “a hundred times scarier” than competing at the London games six years ago.

In an exclusive interview with the Sun’s Bizarre TV column, Dan said: “Ninja Warrior was a hundred times scarier than competing in London 2012. In London 2012 I knew what I was there to do, I knew what I was going into, I had practised loads.

“The crowd at Ninja Warrior was amazing though, it was just like the Paralympics. It made the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.”

He added: “I’ve got no central sight basically and they were basically saying ‘can we make the lighting better? Can we do anything to help you? Can we talk you through it?’

“They gave me a very good description of the obstacles. There’s only so much describing you can do though before you physically get on there but at the same time it actually gave me a bit of a fighting chance to give it a go.”

But Dan admits that one of the sections left him with bruising on his ribs for three days after filming.

He said: “There was one of the obstacles where you jump off a ledge and you just hit this pendulum and for me it was about jumping out and waiting for my chest to hit it and cling onto it.

“I managed to stay on that and my ribs were hurting for about three days afterwards.”

The athlete made it to the Tick Tock obstacle, almost at the end of the course, before falling in the water.

He hopes taking part in the prime time show will inspire other disabled people to apply.

Dan said: “I hope it comes across that with my disability the adaptions can be made. I went on there first and foremost to inspire a couple of people. Show the ability side.

“It wasn’t a big focus on the fact I’ve got this disability. I didn’t get to the end but the crowd were just incredible.”

One-legged amputee Martin Herald, 26, was hailed an “inspiration” by viewers after competing on the show two weeks ago.

‘Drag Race All Stars’: Booted Contestant Says She Was ‘Set Up to Fail’

Spoiler alert: This post contains spoilers from Episode 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3. Proceed with caution.

One thing’s for certain after Episode 2 of Drag Race All Stars 3: this is not RuPaul’s Best Friend Race.

With all the queens being friends and touring together outside of the show, you’d think we’d be watching nothing but sisterly support. But, luckily for those of us who love our drag with a side of drama, all eyes seem to be on the prize and the claws are coming out. And the pressure got so intense that one contestant claimed she was “being set up to fail.”

For proof, look no further than the rehearsal for this week’s lip-syncing challenge, a parody of VH1 Divas.

Guest judge Todrick Hall was in charge of choreographing the performances and the queens often struggled to keep up. A fact that the other competitors were all too happy to point out.

It all began with Thorgy Thor returning to her Season 8 “conspiracy theorist” ways by overthinking, complaining, and comparing herself to the other queens. After being assigned to impersonate Stevie Nicks, Thorgy said she was “being set up to fail” because she felt the other queens’ roles were more energetic and entertaining. Cut to confessionals featuring pretty much every queen calling her out for her insecurities. (To be fair, Thorgy’s recorded track was absolutely not as funny as those that were given to many of the other queens.)

Kennedy Davenport was up next and struggled to pick up the choreography. Pretty sure the “Dancing Diva of Texas” got her nickname due to her dancing skills, so what was the problem?

She claimed she only freestyles and doesn’t do choreography. Having a major limitation within your greatest talent is not a great sign. (And, indeed, she dances her way right into the bottom two this week.)

When it was Shangela’s time to rehearse her role as Mariah Carey, Milk called her out on her diva behavior. (Shangey just claims she was serving us Meryl Streep method-acting realness.)

Shangela accused the queens of getting hateful this season, saying “Jealousy is a killer in this industry, mama. The girls are so hateful this season!”

“Shush, Valentina,” Milk clapped back, invoking the name of the Season 9 contestant, who accused others of being jealous of her talent and hating on her. (New All Stars drinking game: Drink every time Valentina is mentioned this season, which so far is quite a bit for a queen who’s not even on the show.)

In return for her negative comments, Shangela came for Milk and her “better-than-everyone” attitude. Which, by the way, has been noticeable since the start of the season and was already called out online. It later became even more clear that Milk is having some ego issues when she flipped out on stage over being safe. (Frankly, it looked like she could have been in the bottom, so she should consider herself lucky!)

By the time they were back in the workroom after deliberations, Milk was in tears over not getting enough praise, which, as Trixie pointed out, was “a whole lot of emotion for safe.”

Bebe and BenDeLaCreme also seemed to struggle during the rehearsal, but they each ended up in the top 3, so that may have just been clever editing. But the queens still were throwing plenty of shade their way as they rehearsed anyway.

Thorgy’s worries ultimately became a self-fulfilling prophecy. She shamelessly tried to form a last-minute alliance to save herself, but to no avail. Shangela won the lip sync and chose to eliminate Thorgy over her good friend Kennedy.

Was Thorgy sabotaged? Or did she not step it up, All Star-style? And will sour Milk soon find herself gone, as well? The conspiracy theories are already on Twitter.

Stay tuned to FANDOM for our power ranking of where the queens stand after Episode 2.

‘Bachelorette’ Rachel’s Contestant Bios, By The Numbers

Rachel Lindsay’s season of “The Bachelorette” has been tacitly cast as a new step toward diversity for the franchise. So how do her suitors stack up? Will she be meeting 31 clones, or men from all backgrounds?

The cast, at first glance, actually promises to offer a more varied one than usual ― more non-white men, fewer fitness trainers, and some real quirky options. Here’s a quick breakdown of Rachel’s dudes by the numbers:

Men of color: 14

Not bad!

Gelled pompadours: 12

They’re rocking those Jordan Rodgers haircuts.

V-neck T-shirts: 15

Sigh

Personal trainers: 1

Fewer than usual, actually!

ER doctors: 2

Keeping the mansion safe since 2017.

Lawyers: 2

Three, counting Rachel!

Tickle monsters: 1

We’re hoping this isn’t code for “molester.”

Whabooms: 1

Sure.

Fans of The Rock: 3

And every red-blooded straight woman in America.

Fans of Matthew McConaughey: 2

All right all right all right.

Haters of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino: 2

What did he ever do to these dudes?

Dudes who admit to getting boners at work: 2

No shame, guys. No shame.

Guy who admits he’s not there for the right reasons: 1

In response to “What do you hope to get out of participating in this television show?” Milton shamelessly says: “Real answer? Discovered. Everyone tells me I’m made for TV/movies.”

With 31 men appearing on the season, there’s simply too much bio goodness to fully process at one read. Jamey says he doesn’t have any female friends (um, rude); Lucas, the whaboom, once had a threesome at a wedding; and Anthony is our Haruki Murakami-reading crush. We can’t wait to get this season started.

Caitlyn Jenner Praises Transgender Survivor Contestant Zeke Smith: ‘You Made Us Proud’

Caitlyn Jenner is praising the Survivor contestant who was outed as transgender by a fellow competitor.

On Wednesday night’s shocking episode of Survivor: Game Changers, Jeff Varner outed Zeke Smith during a tribal council in an attempt to paint the Brooklyn-based asset manager as “deceitful” and therefore worthy of being voted out.

A day following the emotional episode, Jenner, who revealed in a 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer in 2015 that she identifies as a woman and would be transitioning from male to female, vocalized her support of 29-year-old Smith.

“@zekerchief Being trans in the public eye is no joke, but you did good buddy,” Jenner, 67, tweeted. “You made us proud.”

Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE for the current issue, Smith said, “It’s tough with Varner.”

“I don’t think he hates trans people. I just think he has a lot of misconceptions about trans people,” said Smith. “I think if he wants to be an ally to trans people, he has a long way to go.”

But Smith is extremely pleased that his tribemates quickly admonished Varner for his actions.

“Trans people are a highly vulnerable population. We make easy targets. We’re attacked a lot and I expected a lot more from Varner,” said Smith. “But I think it’s so great that you see his hateful tactics rebuffed with such amazing love and from such a diverse group that responds to him.”

After being ousted by his tribe on Wednesday’s episode, Varner approached Smith and pulled him in for a hug. After viewing the footage, Smith admitted it was a hard moment to watch: “It was hard to see me hug him that night and tell him that it was going to be okay. But it was important for me to show that he had not cowed me; that whatever shots he meant to take at me, he missed; that I was the stronger man and he was the one weeping.”

Survivor: Game Changers airs Wednesdays (8 p.m. ET) on CBS.

This Could Be The Luckiest ‘Price Is Right’ Contestant Ever

And that’s how it’s done, people.

Monday’s “The Price Is Right” ended in stunning fashion as the last contestant of the day, Ma Ghina Lorca, amazingly swept all the games and “[cleaned] up out of nowhere,” as host Drew Carey put it.

After Lorca was called from the audience, she immediately got the closest bid on a new fireplace and went to the stage. There, she won an ATV and motorcycle in Squeeze Play. That’d probably be enough for some contestants, but Lorca was just getting warmed up. At the wheel, she landed on the dollar twice, winning $ 26,000. Her opponent in the Showcase Showdown didn’t even stand a chance. Lorca bid within $ 679 of the actual retail price on her showcase, taking home new bikes, a trip to Vienna and a brand new car.

In all, Lorca won more than $ 59,000 in cash and prizes after perhaps one of the most amazing rounds of “The Price Is Right” ever played.
