Blake Shelton Helped Gwen Stefani Heal After Her Divorce – Here’s How!

One insider report explains that Gwen Stefani was really affected by going through a divorce but Blake Shelton helped her heal and be open to the idea that she might tie the knot again one day! Supposedly, the singer is really ‘grateful’ for her country crooner boyfriend.

It sounds like Gwen was left with some deep emotional scars by her divorce, but because Blake was there to pick up the pieces soon after, she is much better today.

After things ended between her and Gavin Rossdale, Blake showed Gwen that a healthy relationship was not a myth.

The source shared with HollywoodLife that ‘Gwen is thankful for Blake and what he has done for her for many reasons, but she was truly skeptical about finding love again until connecting with Blake. She was scared to jump into things with him because she was incredibly hurt from her divorce.’

‘Though she has moved on from Gavin, she still deals with the pain and scars of that, which is why she is happy with where she and Blake are currently at.’

Her first marriage crumbling like that really made Gwen wary of marrying anyone again – even the amazing Blake Shelton!

But still, before meeting him, Gwen felt like she could not even entertain the idea of getting married again.

When he came along, he managed to make her open up more.

The insider made it very clear that the star has never really felt this happy in a relationship, which is also how Blake feels.

The man simply worships her and thinks all of her characteristics are attractive, including her strength and being a great mom to her sons.

So while before, Gwen was very scared of the idea of marriage, now she is much more open to it, and Blake is very thankful for that.

90 Day Fiance’s Colt, Larissa Clap Back at Each Other After Divorce Filing

It’s far from over. The battle between 90 Day Fiancé‘s Colt Johnson and Larissa Dos Santos Lima rages on after her arrest and his subsequent divorce filing on Friday, January 11.

In a lengthy statement posted on Instagram Stories on Saturday, January 12, Dos Santos Lima, 32, said “the truth will come out” following an alleged altercation between the couple that left Johnson, 33, with “a swollen lip” and “bloodied” gums and teeth. (The Brazil native had bruising of her own, but authorities said that her lacerations did not corroborate her story.)

“After cleaning her off, officers determined that the cuts were not consistent with the kind of bleeding she was claiming,” Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Officer Jay Rivera told Us after the incident. “She also has scratches on her abdomen, but those injuries were also not consistent with the length of [Johnson’s] fingernails.”

Dos Santos Lima seemingly addressed the authorities’ remarks, writing: “I want to thank everyone who toke [sic] time to investigate the domestic violence episode and found a ‘history of long nails.’” (Some fans posted photos on social media showing Johnson with longer fingernails and suggested that he had bitten them after the couple’s physical altercation.)

The TV personality also thanked fans for their GoFundMe donations, claiming that she raised all the money she needs to pay her friend back for posting her bail, as well as attorney’s fees for her pending court date. “It was extremely important for me because I have no income at this moment … I can’t legally work yet and I can’t start my business.”

She continued: “I also never had access or any control of the money we made on the show and with the cameos. They did buy to me some girl stuff so I could use on the show.”

The software engineer took to his own Instagram page soon after, detailing all the items he alleges he bought for his wife throughout their relationship and claiming that she came to the U.S. with “literally nothing.”

“The suitcases she used for travel I provided for her,” he captioned a picture of full garbage bags and boxes. “On her arrival I already had clothes waiting for her to wear and everything she needed to start a basic life in America. Over the course of months I continued to provide for her, gave her shelter, food, and supported her wants and dreams. When she wanted a dress or makeup I bought it for her. When she wanted to take ESL classes I found a class for her and drove her. When she wanted to go to a gym I took her to every gym in town and eventually she joined two gyms simultaneously. When she needed a doctor, lawyer, therapist I would always do what I could for her.”

“My sole mission since her arrival was to see that she was happy, taken care for and nurtured,” he added. “When she wanted to start her business I gave her a thousand dollars just to start. Every time she was in trouble, I was there.”

Dos Santos Lima, for her part, took to her Instagram after the Las Vegas-born star’s post, claiming that the TLC series bought her clothes and accessories— not her husband.

Despite all the he-said, she-said, people are taking sides on social media. Fellow 90 Day Fiancé star Anfisa Nava, who starred on season 4, wrote on Johnson’s post, “Should have maybe tried not to cheat on her and understand what she actually wants? And not instigate drama and then act all innocent? … Never wanted to comment publicly but you are a gaslighter … and the way you act is disgusting.”

The estranged couple, who have been hit with multiple cheating accusations and rumors since December, got engaged five days after they met in person in Mexico and tied the knot in June 2018, days after she was arrested for domestic violence the first time. She was arrested for the second time in November. Both charges were dismissed.

It’s Divorce Season: Are You Prepared?

Today we are discussing divorce. It’s not the cheeriest topic to kick off the new year with, so why is it on your mind?

We just finished the holidays, and are now entering what some call the divorce season because divorce filings begin to spike in January, peaking in February and March. Indeed, studies show that one in five couples start considering divorce or separation once the end of year festivities come to an end. And the first Monday of the New Year – today – is unofficially known as divorce day because it is the biggest day for divorce filings.

What causes this spike in divorces after the holidays?

There are a few reasons divorce filings rise in the first part of the new year. Some couples simply don’t want to get divorced during the holidays. Many couples, especially those with children, stay married through the end of the year so their family can have one last holiday season together.

For others, the holidays push them to the breaking point. As we know, emotions can run high amid the pressures of family, gifts and other commitments. Alternatively, some couples get swept up in the feelings of the season and think they can make their relationship work, but return to reality after the holidays are over. Finally, January is a time for making resolutions, and some people resolve to make a fresh start in the new year when they are unhappy in their relationship.

What should our listeners keep in mind, financially speaking, if they are considering divorce?

Divorce is obviously a big decision, and the first thing anyone should ask themselves is “Is this what i really want?” However, if you have made up your mind, or if you think it is likely, there are some things you can do to prepare yourself financially.

I always advise people to maintain a level of financial independence, not matter what, and this is especially important if you are considering divorce. The most important thing to do is to start saving money. Getting a divorce is expensive, so it is important to prepare yourself for those costs, and to live on a single income once your divorce is final. If you do not already have one, you need to open a separate bank account.

Depending on your situation, you may also what to close joint accounts. If you and your spouse have joint credit cards, either cancel them or remove one spouse’s name. If you have a joint bank account, consider splitting the money and closing the account. And you want to reduce unnecessary expenditures. Avoid making large purchases or splurging in the lead up to filing for divorce.

Documenting your financial history is also important. You want to track your finances, including your income, your spouse’s income, your expenses, debts and assets. You need to get duplicates of important financial documents like bank and credit card statements, retirement account statements, pay stubs, tax returns and receipts for expensive purchases as well. Once you do this, you want to keep copies of these records in a secure place outside of your house, like a safe deposit box or with your attorney.

Is there anything else to keep in mind for those couples who are splitting in 2019?

in fact there are. As a result of the 2017 tax law, the rules will change for new divorcees. For example, alimony paid will no longer be tax-deductible and alimony received will no longer be taxable income. Until now, alimony has been tax deductible for the person paying it and taxable income for the person receiving it.

This change could make the process of divorcing much uglier, since high-income divorcing spouses are likely to fight to pay less in alimony, since the government will no longer subsidize these payments via the tax deduction. On the other hand, lower-income spouses will seek to get as much money as possible, since there will be no tax burden, meaning that income will go farther. All of this is a recipe for nastier fights over finances during divorce.

These changes will not affect people who are already divorced, as their agreements are grandfathered in. However, the new rules could affect them if they modify their divorce agreement. So, be extremely cautious when modifying divorce agreements from here on out.

The tax law may also affect pre- and post-nuptial agreements. Some new rules could nullify items in these agreements, so it is important to have an attorney and a financial consultant review pre- and post-nuptial agreements you have.

Finally, one last item for divorcees to consider when sorting out finances. Remember that the tax deduction for children will be much lower.  The 2017 tax law eliminated the $ 4,050 exemption for each dependent, through 2025. The child tax credit (which offsets taxes owed, dollar for dollar), however, has doubled from $ 1,000 to $ 2,000. This could be a big consideration for many families during divorce.

Usher Moves To Finalize Second Divorce

They parted ways last year, but it’s only now that Usher Raymond and Grace Miguel have formally moved forward  to dissolve their 3 year marriage.

Specifically, according to court records,  Usher, 40, made the filing on Friday in a Georgia court. According The Blast, the entertainer is employing the same attorney he used for his previous custody fight with ex-wife, Tameka Foster.

Court documents point to  December 24, 2017 as the couple’s date of separation. They also say they reached a confidential settlement agreement … so it’s all finished and just waiting on a judge to sign off.

“After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple.”

The statement continued …

“We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives. The enormous amount of love and respect that we have for each other will only increase as we move forward.”

Usher and Grace Miguel, 49,  originally met while working in the music industry, and she also served as his manager. The marriage produced no children.

In related news, a Philadelphia songwriter who claims he was cut out of profits and credit for his work on Usher’s “Bad Girl” has been awarded more than $ 44 million in damages in a lawsuit against the song’s other co-writers.

via Billboard:

A jury  awarded the sum to Daniel Marino. His former co-writer William Guice was ordered to pay $ 6.75 million in compensatory damages, and $ 20.25 million in punitive damages.

Also last week Destro Music Productions, owned by co-defendant Dante Barton, agreed to pay Marino $ 17.35 million. That brings his total award to $ 44.35 million.

The lawsuit stemmed from Marino’s work on a song called “Club Girl.” Marino says he created most of the song, including its guitar hook, tempo and chord progression.

The song was recorded by Usher in 2004 and renamed “Bad Girl.” And in case you’re wondering, Usher wasn’t named in the suit.

A break up, a reunion of exes and another arrest. The Monday, October 22, episode of Teen Mom OG was filled with drama. Here’s a breakdown:

Bristol Palin was still livid after Dakota Meyer had moved her stuff out of her bedroom – mostly because she didn’t want her son, Tripp, to see it. Luckily, he was in Los Angeles with Bristol and her mother while on Dancing With the Stars: Juniors. In a candid moment with Sarah Palin, Bristol told her that Dakota called her, asked for his wedding ring back, then said, “You better get your mommy’s money because I’m gonna fight you tooth and nail until the girls are 18.”

Before heading back to Austin, Bristol reunited with ex Levi Johnston and his wife Sunny, as they were taking Tripp back to Alaska while Bristol got things situated in her home. She quickly FaceTimed with Dakota, and told him to remind his lawyer that she needed her home equity check so that she could get a new place.

While he told her he was looking forward to seeing her, after he hung up he told producers, “She’s an obnoxious smart ass.”

Speaking of exes, Cheyenne Floyd and her boyfriend, Zach, broke up after she spent the day with Cory Wharton, their daughter and her family. While she did invite Zach for the day out, she urged him to go see his dad, which he found to be red flag. When he tried to come over after they got back from the day out and was drunk, they got into a fight and she packed his things.

When Cheyenne later told Cory that they split and that she hadn’t seen him since their fight,he answered, “When can I move in?”

Another Arrest

During Maci Bookout’s birthday weekend, she got an alert that her ex, Ryan Edwards, had been arrested again for violating his parole. Her biggest worry, however, was how to tell Bentley, the 9-year-old son she shares with Ryan.

Bentley was scheduled to spend the weekend with Ryan’s parents, Jen and Larry Edwards, so she informed him of the arrest before he went to their house. While there, Larry revealed that Bentley asked where his dad was and he was honest with him.

“I told him, ‘The most important thing is that your daddy’s clean.’ And he started crying. He gave me a big hug,” Larry said. “I said, ‘Buddy, he’s going to be OK. He’s got us, and he’s going to be fine.’”

At the end of the episode, Maci said that she didn’t believe Ryan was sober. “Everyone’s sitting around knowing there’s a problem and no one’s doing s—t about it,” she said.

Teen Mom OG airs on MTV Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.

Jeannie Mai Breaks Down About Recent Divorce On ‘The Real’ [Video]

When you get married you’re expecting your “happily ever after,” but for so many of us, that’s not the case. According to the American Psychological Association, about 40 to 50 percent of marriages in the United States end in divorce.

Jeannie Mai, host of The Real, opened up on the show about her divorce from Husband Freddy Harteis.  “Knowing what I know now about who I married, I wouldn’t have married him,” Mai shared.

“It’s just crazy. You hear all the time that money can change people. Well, divorce can really change people. It’s just so weird because the one thing that he would always say back then is like, ‘You really, truly don’t know a person until they don’t get what they want.’ But I never thought he would be the one to prove that to me,” Mai, 39, explained as she began to cry.

Mai and Harteis, who hosts The Hollywood Hunter, said I do in 2007 and split last fall after 10 years of marriage, PEOPLE reported.

Mai’s experience with divorce is not uncommon. While a happy marriage can be healthy for both people, both mentally and physically, an unhealthy marriage does just the opposite.

The American Psychological Association suggests, speaking to a psychologist to help you deal with your emotions and adjust to the changes can help ease the stress of divorce. Psychologists can also help you identify what went wrong in your marriage so you can avoid repeating any negative patterns in your next relationship.
