Tidying up? Here’s How to Cash in on Everything That Doesn’t Spark Joy

The first thing I learned from Marie Kondo, a Japanese organizing consultant, was this: If you walk into your home and feel some discomfort in your life, it’s time to tidy up.

I’m pretty organized and everything, but… triggered.

Though I maintained order and structure on the surface, the true state of my home was kind of chaotic. After watching one episode of Netflix’s “Tidying Up,” it hit me: I’m all about aesthetics.

For those who haven’t tuned in to the series, just know that Kondo triple-dog dared us to use the KonMari method to organize (and purge!) our homes. No big deal.

Despite the intensity of it, I bravely put myself up to the #tidyingupchallenge — I was even able to pocket $ 38 by the end of the week.

The First Step Toward Tidiness

To get started, I dug up all the clothes from my early 20s that I’d been hoarding in my closet (somewhere by the Narnia portal, I think) to ask the famous question, “Does this spark joy?”

Because letting go, in any context, is difficult, I softened the blow by making extra cash off the items I decided to let go — that’s The Penny Hoarder method.

With my giveaway pile sorted, cleaned and steamed, it was time to start selling. And in true Kondo fashion, I thanked every item before it turned into dolla’, dolla’ bills, y’all.

Sell Anything — for Free

A woman uses steams her clothes before selling them online.

I started by downloading Letgoan intuitive app that lets you sell virtually anything. It lets you snap a photo and upload your item in less than 30 seconds. It removes a lot of the hassle of selling things online, and it’s 100% free to use.

The app lets you select the price you want, giving you the options to set it as negotiable, or to give it away for free if you just want to purge.

Help potential customers find your ad by categorizing it and setting your location by ZIP code. You can also share the listing on Facebook to see whether any of your friends are interested. This doesn’t mean you’ll definitely sell your goods, but it does reveal active, local users who might be looking for what you’re selling.

When it’s time to get paid, Letgo offers some recommendations: Transfer money only after the buyer inspects the item. Take cash, or use a secure payment platform like PayPal. Don’t take a “certified check” — Letgo says this is a common scam. Shipping is discouraged, as well.

I made $ 10 selling two pairs of old shorts. The best part? Letgo doesn’t snag any percentage of the sale, so I got to keep it all.

Pro-tip: We know you want at least $ 20 for the pants that cost you $ 40, but keep in mind that things depreciate with time. Your second-hand clothing might get more play if you’re advertising thrift store–like prices.

Let This App Help You Bank off Old Dresses

A woman shows the OfferUp app while selling clothes.

To earn more cash, I put up the last bit of my clothes for sale using a free app called OfferUp. This app lets you sell just about anything — furniture, clothes, gadgets — even cars.

Seriously. Like, entire vehicles.

Just download the OfferUp app, enter your ZIP code and click the camera to sign up. You can continue with Facebook, which makes the whole process pretty seamless.

The app lets you chat with interested buyers without the pressure of having to exchange phone numbers. When you’re ready, schedule your meeting by using its site SafeTradeSpots.com to find a safe public place to meet your buyer and complete the transaction.

Using the app, I scored an extra $ 20 from selling some dresses I hadn’t worn in awhile.

Pro tip: Let the buyer inspect the item first, then gather the payment. Don’t accept a check, cashier’s check or gift card as payment. We recommend you ask for cash.

Use This App to Sell Everything You Think No One Wants

A woman uses her cell phone to photograph clothes she is selling online.

No shade to Craigslist, but I like to think of it as the place where the misfits of your belongings go. So that’s where I went to sell all the random stuff I accumulated over the years.

Thanks to the buyer who found joy in my picture frame and pair of tennis shoes, I pocketed $ 8.

Since Craigslist doesn’t have its own, I used the licensed, third-party app CPlus. If you’re worried about the legitimacy, you might find comfort in knowing that the app has more than 10,000 ratings and averages 4.8/5 stars in the App Store. Not too shabby.

Plus, through the app, you post directly to Craigslist.

You can get started with CPlus by creating a Craigslist account if you don’t already have one. Enter your email, then verify your account and create a password.

Navigate back over to the app, sign in and start posting what you have to offer (except organs, sorry!). Categorize and title your posting, add a price, specific location, postal code and a description. Next, you’ll add images, then publish.

Be aware of safety issues when it comes to Craigslist. As with the other apps, meet in a well-lit public setting and trust your instincts.

Securing the payment is up to you and cannot be done through the app. For safety, use cash — but not a ton.

Pro-tip: CPlus is a great app for those who already know and love Craigslist. Unfortunately, there are some glitches, and the app doesn’t work as smoothly as others. You might benefit just as well from using the website on your mobile browser.

Done Is Better Than Perfect

A woman uses the Marie Kondo method to organzie her clothing on her bed.

*Deep sigh*

The KonMari method works, guys. Halfway through my #tidyingupchallenge, I realized I’ve formed an unhealthy habit of keeping things for nostalgia’s sake.

I’d secretly been holding onto all the cute stuff I used to wear in my early 20s in hopes that I could be that young girl again, fitting into a size 3. But when I sold my old clothes, I also sold my attachment to them, which has allowed me to embrace who I am now.

As powerful as that made me feel, it felt even better getting to enjoy the end result of my hard work: Neatly folded clothes and a thoroughly organized living space. (Not just on the surface, I swear.)

Oh, and my total earnings? $ 38. That part was pretty sweet, too.

Farrah Daniel is an editorial assistant at The Penny Hoarder. She’s wondering if she can KonMari her diet…

This was originally published on The Penny Hoarder, which helps millions of readers worldwide earn and save money by sharing unique job opportunities, personal stories, freebies and more. The Inc. 5000 ranked The Penny Hoarder as the fastest-growing private media company in the U.S. in 2017.

Everything We Learned from the Michael Jackson Documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’

Photo of JACKSON FIVE and Michael JACKSON

Source: Ebet Roberts / Getty

The premiere of ‘Leaving Neverland’ on HBO was shocking and jaw-dropping with all of the allegations that we made against the King of Pop.  Two alleged victims Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck give a detailed account of their time with Jackson.  Below we give you the abbreviated version of everything we learned from the documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’.

Wade Robson was born in Brisbane Australia and became a fan of Michael Jackson in the days of Triller.  Like any kids across the world, Wade began to dance and sing like Jackson perfecting his moves.  At five-years-old Wade entered a dance contest where the winner would get to meet Jackson at one of his upcoming concerts in Australia.  Wade won the dance contest and met Jackson backstage after the show.  Jackson invited Wade to join him on stage at his next show the following night.  Just as promised Jackson pulled Wade on stage to dance with him.  The next day Wade and his mother go to Jackson’s hotel hoping to give him a thank you letter.  One of Jackon’s staff members saw them and told Jackson who then invited them to his room.  Wade claims they spent two hours with Jackson visiting.

Two years later Wade had joined a dance company and made a visit to the United States.  Wade’s family successfully tries to contact Jackson while in the U.S. and invites them to visit his home Neverland for the weekend.  The Robson family planned on visiting the Grand Canyon but Wade wanted to stay with Jackson and his parents let him.  Wade spent five days with Jackson while his family was gone.  During this time is when Wade claims his sexual relationship with Jackson began including oral sex.  When the Robson’s returned to pick up Wade, he didn’t want to go.  So they extended their time at Neverland, where Wade claims the sexual abuse continued every night.

The Robeson’s returned to Australia but still kept in communication with Jackson.  After some time had passed Jackson invited Wade back to participate in the marketing campaign for his shoe line with LA Gear.  The campaign would take six weeks to complete.  Wade’s mother came with him.  Jackson asked Wade’s mother to let him stay for a year with him but she said no and allowed him to say with Jackson longer before going back to Australia.

After some time passes Wade’s parents split up.  Mrs. Robeson decides that she and Wade are moving to Los Angeles in hopes to be with Jackson.  When they get to LA they immediately notice that the relationship between Wade and Jackson isn’t the same.  Jackson invites Wade to be in his ‘Black or White’ video but when they showed up to set they met MaCaulay Cogan.  Wade felt MaCaulay had taken his place as Jackson’s “best friend.”  Over time, Jackson still visits Wade and the alleged sexual abuse continues.  Wade ask Jackson to go on his upcoming tour with him but Jackson declines, taking another young boy with him named Brett Barnes.

Jussie Smollett Alleged Attack: Everything We Know So Far

In the weeks since Jussie Smollett told Chicago police that he was the victim of a homophobic and racist attack, there has been one shocking development after another. Investigators continued to search for the perpetrators of what was initially described as a “possible hate crime” before a grand jury heard evidence that the 36-year-old had staged the assault.

The Empire star reported that he was attacked in the early hours of January 29. Days later, he spoke out for the first time since the incident, stating that he was “working with authorities and [has] been 100 percent factual and consistent on every level.” He also returned to work, performing a concert in West Hollywood before returning to the set of his Fox musical drama.

Smollett appeared on Good Morning America on February 14 for his first interview about the alleged attack. He became emotional at one point, saying that he was “forever changed” and felt “pissed off” by both the incident itself and the skepticism swirling on social media.

A major development in the case came on February 15 when police arrested two possible suspects, but they were released soon after without charges. Multiple reports later surfaced accusing the actor of staging the attack, which he has repeatedly and vehemently denied. However, on February 20, he was charged with felony disorderly conduct for making a false police report.

This Meghan Markle throwback picture is everything

So much love for this

REX

Meghan Markle was the most Googled person of 2018, and it’s hardly surprising – the world watches her every move. Since announcing that she is expecting her first child with Prince Harry, the spotlight has been well and truly on her. Everybody wants to know about her pregnancywhat they’ll call their little one, and whether or not she’s using vegan paint in the nursery (she is).

But since marrying into the royal family, Meghan has deleted all traces of her online presence. She ditched Instagram (although it glitched back in December and we got to see all of her selfies again for a few short minutes), and she also shut down her blog.

So while she’s living a social media-free existence, many of her fans have their eyes on the accounts of her friends and family. Just last month, a friend shared a photo of his brunch with Meghan and it made headlines.

And now, an old friend has shared a throwback picture that will satisfy every Meghan fan out there.

Actress Katharine McPhee used to perform in musicals alongside the Duchess, and she made a joke online about how their lives are basically the same.

‘Meghan and I did musicals together as kids,’ she wrote. ‘She grew up to be the Duchess of Sussex and I grew up to star on the West End, so same life if you ask me. #TBT.’

Lol.

Next month, Katharine will be starring in Waitress, a West End musical, so perhaps they could catch up over avo toast.

Super Bowl 2019 Prop Bets: Everything From What Gladys Knight Will Wear to How Many Times President Trump Will Tweet

On Sunday, millions of bets will be on the line during Super Bowl 53, and many of them might surprise you.

While most gamblers will wager their money on more traditional bets like who will win the big game (the New England Patriots are favored to beat the Los Angeles Rams), prop betting offers an opportunity for people who don’t know much about the game to get in on the action.

“Prop bets” are bets related to specific events that are likely, or unlikely, to happen during the Super Bowl. They range from which team will score first to what color shirt Adam Levine will wear during his halftime performance.

This year’s Super Bowl will also be the first where sports gambling is legal in seven states other than Nevada, including Delaware, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia. The change in gambling laws comes after a May 2018 6-3 ruling by the U.S Supreme Court.

Oddsshark.com has a full list of the outlandish prop bets being placed this Super Bowl Sunday, but here are just a few of the unorthodox wagers that can be made.

Number of times broadcasters mention the Rams’ Head Coach Sean McVay’s age

Current Odds:

  • OVER 1.5 -175
  • UNDER 1.5 +135

At just 33-years-old, Rams’ Coach Sean McVay is currently the youngest head coach in the NFL, a fact broadcasters have made sure to remind fans many times during the 2018 season. There is a strong chance Super Bowl viewers will get at least one reminder during the game but you’ll need at least two mentions of his age to hit the over.

Will President Trump attend the game?

Jason Reitman is Directing ‘Ghostbusters 3’; Here’s Everything We Know

It’s time to get slimed at least one more time.

Just when the fate of the Ghostbusters franchise seemed up in the air, another installment is in the works. That’s right, as revealed by Entertainment Weekly, Sony is going back to the popular 1980s series that started it all, but the still-rather-secret sequel isn’t totally clear in how it will connect to the old movies starring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.

So far, Ghostbusters 3 (or whatever the movie will be titled) has…

Spider-Man Meets Nick Fury in First ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Trailer; Here’s Everything We Know

Given what happens in Avengers: Infinity War, the next solo Spider-Man movie is shrouded in secrecy. At least, a lot of the details are. What we do know is the Spider-Man: Homecoming follow-up will be titled Spider-Man: Far From Home and it will supposedly be set after the events of this summer's Avengers: Endgame — if anyone is even still alive after that ultimate Marvel crossover, that is.

Sony dropped the first trailer for Far From Home this…

Despite critics not liking it (28% on Rotten Tomatoes), moviegoers have been loving Venom and want more.

There’s a new Hellboy on the block. Summit Entertainment’s reboot of the comic book movie franchise promises to be different style-wise than Guillermo del Toro’s 2004 take, but we can still anticipate a similar mix of brawn and banter from the titular demon-spawn character.

Darker is the supposed direction of this Hellboy, though that doesn’t show so much in the first trailer. David Harbour’s version of the big, red not-a-monster antihero is humorous, and the…

Everything you need to know about Brooklyn Beckham’s new girlfriend

Sorry ladies but it seems that Brooklyn Beckham has been snatched up once again; the young photographer has been spotted out and about, with a new girl on his arm. Who is she?

REX

Words by Zeinab Batchelor

Sorry ladies but it seems that Brooklyn Beckham has been snatched up once again, and not by any of us.

The young photographer has been spotted out and about, with a new girl on his arm. But who is she?

We’re used to seeing Brooklyn with his ex girlfriend Chloe Moretz, but it seems that the former couple are officially off, with this week seeing not only Brooklyn and his new GF, but also Chloe moving on too with a playboy model.

The name of Brooklyn’s new girlfriend? Hana Cross.

But who is she? Here’s everything we know…

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Hana (@hancross) on

Birthday: 7th September: aged 21
Star sign: Virgo
Occupation: Model, signed to the likes of Select, Premium Models, the Lions LA. First making her modelling debut with high-street brands like Asos, Nastygal and Topshop, then got the attention of major fashion house Fendi which sees Cross in one of their latest campaigns.
Height: 5’8
Hometown: Chipping Campden, a small market town in the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire.

How the lovebirds met: Hana is close friends with Brooklyn’s cousin, Libby Adams, as seen on many Instagram stories of the two. Libby Adams is the daughter of Victoria’s sister, Louise Adams.

A post shared by Hana (@hancross) on

The young couple has made a string of appearances over the past few months, some less informal like Winter Wonderland and the Mumford and Sons gig last month. However they seemed to up it a notch by attending The British Fashion awards together, on the 10th December, hosted at The Royal Albert Hall.

And while Hana was photographed on the red carpet alongside Brooklyn and his parents, there are reports that they spent time together during the event, even attending an after party in Belsize Park together.

Now, the question that’s on everybody’s lips – has she met the parents?

Yes she has. Hana Cross and David Beckham were spotted at his launch party for Haig Whiskey just a few weeks ago – surely that’s saying something!

What’s in store for Brooklyn and Hana? Only time will tell.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Custody Battle: Everything We Know

The legal war between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is getting uglier by the day. More than two years after the actress’ September 2016 divorce filing, the estranged couple are still fighting over custody of their six children.

Here is everything we know so far about Brangelina’s ongoing custody battle.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered
The Oscar winners agreed on January 9, 2017, to seal all court documents in their divorce case after the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services cleared Pitt of child abuse accusations relating to an alleged incident with son Maddox aboard a private jet. The pair’s reps said in a statement to Us Weekly, “The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.”

Living With Mom
After nine months of living in various Malibu rentals, Jolie and her six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne — moved into an 11,000 square-foot mansion in the Los Feliz neighborhood of L.A. in June 2017. Pitt, who was allowed supervised visitation with the kids, told the Associated Press around the same time that he spends his time “keeping the ship afloat” and “figuring out the new configuration of our family.”

Summer Agreement
Pitt and Jolie reached a temporary agreement on June 12, 2018, after the L.A. Superior Court determined that “not having a relationship with their father” would be “harmful” to the children. The court also said at the time that Maddox was essentially free to go with either parent because he was 17. The summer schedule split the kids’ time between London, where their mother was filming Maleficent 2, and their native Los Angeles, where their father was working on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Jolie’s Child Support Request
The Tomb Raider star filed a two-page brief in L.A. on August 7, 2018, that claimed Pitt “has paid no meaningful child support” since they separated. A source familiar with the situation countered to Us, “Brad has fulfilled all of his commitments under any agreements with Angelina. Hopefully both sides can come together and resolve this, and work it out for the sake of the children.”

Jolie’s Explanation
A spokesperson for Jolie said in a statement to Us on August 7, 2018, that the aim of the actress’ court filing was to “provide closure to the marriage in a way that clears a path toward the next stage of their lives and allows her and Brad to recommit as devoted coparents to their children.”

Pitt Responds
The Fight Club actor filed a response in L.A. on August 8, 2018, in which he called Jolie’s request for more child support “unnecessary” and claimed it “omits material information and is a thinly-veiled effort to manipulate media coverage.” He also alleged that he loaned $ 8 million to Jolie to purchase her current home, in addition to $ 1.3 million for “the benefit of [Jolie] and the minor children.” Furthermore, a source told Us exclusively that Pitt “has contributed financially to the care, welfare and expenses of their children,” adding that Jolie never asked him for child support until her court filing.

Jolie Hits Back
The Girl, Interrupted star’s attorney Samantha Bley DeJean released a statement to Us on August 8, 2018, after Pitt’s response. “Angelina’s filing … was both legally appropriate and factually accurate in all respects. What has been filed by Brad’s side … is a blatant attempt to obfuscate the truth and distract from the fact that he has not fully met his legal obligations to support the children,” DeJean claimed. She said Pitt’s loan for Jolie’s home “is not … child support and to represent it as such is misleading and inaccurate.” She added, “Typically a father of means would pay these expenses voluntarily without the need for a request or court order. We are hopeful that this can be resolved without further delay or posturing.”

Another Agreement
Jolie and Pitt agreed on August 22, 2018, to continue their interim custody schedule “after recommendations from the custody evaluator,” according to a source close to the situation.

Legal Switch
Us confirmed on August 27, 2018, that the Changeling actress parted ways with her divorce attorney, Laura Wasser. “Angelina has decided to change counsel to Samantha Bley DeJean, as Samantha’s expertise is the protection and best interest of children,” Jolie’s spokeswoman told Us. “Angelina appreciates Laura’s cooperation in transitioning the case over the past several weeks.”

Quality Time
A source revealed to Us exclusively in mid-September 2018 that Pitt “has the children every other day” — more specifically, “four hours a day on school days and 12 hours on nonschool days.” A second source added, “[Pitt is] hopeful that at the conclusion, he’ll have joint custody of the children. All Brad wants is to be a present dad and coparent with Angelina.”

Headed to Court
A trial in the By the Sea costars’ custody battle was set for December 4, 2018, according to court documents obtained by Us on November 5. Jolie and Pitt also extended the appointment of Judge John Ouderkirk as a temporary judge through June 30, 2019.

How to Save Money on Everything You Buy for Baby Without Clipping Coupons

There was a time when my wife and I could go to Target, and the only things we’d have to worry about kicking up our bill were bags of M&M’s or home decor items no one really needs.

Now we have twin babies. These days, our cart fills up with diapers, baby food and a variety of odds and ends I never even knew those little people needed. It adds up fast.

In the first year alone, parents can expect to spend at least $ 20,000, according to a NerdWallet survey. While a big portion of that number comes from daycare and medical costs, those everyday items can make you want to cry louder than your baby.

Luckily, we found an app that can help you save big time as you load up on some of those costly things you need to keep your baby happy and healthy.

You may know Ibotta as a great way to get cash back on groceries, but have you looked at all of the baby items it features?

Get up to $ 6 Cash Back on Baby Formula

A hand holds powder milk for baby and blue spoon.

We all know breastfeeding is the most affordable way to nourish your little one. I mean, Mother Nature provides the good stuff for free, right?

While as many as 83% of babies are breastfed, fewer than half of them are breastfed exclusively, even during the first three months, according to the CDC. That means parents are filling the gap with formula.

At nine months old, our twins are primarily breastfed and still go through two cans of formula per week at roughly $ 20 per can. Ouch.

Here are just a few of the recent formula deals we’ve seen on the app:

  • Similac: $ 3 cash back from multiple stores, including Target and Walmart.
  • Enfamil NeuroPro: $ 4 cash back at Walmart.
  • Parent’s Choice: $ 3 cash back at Walmart.
  • CVS Health: $ 4 cash back at CVS Pharmacy.
  • Member’s Mark: $ 4 cash back at Sam’s Club.
  • Gerber Natura Organic: $ 6 cash back at multiple stores including Meijer, Publix and Walmart.
  • Berkley Jensen: $ 4 cash back at BJ’s.

We’re not talking a few cents here.

If you’re using formula at all, you can be saving significant money by using Ibotta. Just find a deal for your favorite brand, snap a photo of your receipt with the app, and bam — cash back.

Bonus: When you earn your first cash-back offer through the app, you’ll pocket a $ 10 bonus.

Get up to $ 3 Back on Baby Food

Eventually, your little bundle of joy will need more than just milk. Pretty soon, you’ll be filling your cart with an amazing variety of pureed veggies and fruits that will inevitably end up all over your baby’s bib, in their hair and on the floor. But that’s all part of the experience, right?

Ibotta can help out here, too. Get these tidier treats:

  • Happy Baby Clearly Crafted Pouches: Get 75 cents cash back when you buy any three at Walmart, or $ 2.50 cash back on a 10-pack at Sam’s Club.
  • Gerber Organic Pouches: Get $ 3 cash back on a 12-pouch box at Sam’s Club.
  • Beech Nut Organic Pouches: $ 2 cash back at multiple stores, including Food Lion, Meijer and Babies R Us.

Earn up to $ 3 When You Buy Vitamins, Wipes, Bottles and More

The list doesn’t stop there. There are tons of odds and ends we need to keep our babies happy and healthy. Here are a few of the best deals:

  • Zarbees Baby Vitamins: $ 3 cash back at multiple stores, including CVS, Meijer and Publix.
  • Aveeno baby products: $ 1 cash back at Walmart.
  • Johnson’s Baby Products: $ 1 to $ 3 cash back at Walmart.
  • Desitin: $ 2 cash back on a 16-ounce jar at Walmart.
  • Huggies Wipes: 50 cents cash back at Walgreens.
  • Baby Bum Products: $ 1.50 cash back at multiple stores, including Target and Buy Buy Baby.
  • Playtex Baby Bottles: $ 3 cash back at Walmart.

Earn up to 18% Cash Back When You Shop Online

What new parent has extra time to go to stores? Ibotta can help you save money with your online shopping, too.

For example, we’ve seen deals for:

  • Up to 5.5% cash back from Amazon.
  • 5% cash back from Etsy.
  • 4% cash back from Groupon.
  • 2% cash back from Buy Buy Baby
  • 3% cash back from Overstock.com.
  • 18% cash back from Warby Parker.

Just download the app for free, select “Find Offers” and the mobile shopping category, then shop your favorite retailer through the portal.

Look Before You Shop

The best way to take advantage of Ibotta deals is to take a look through the app before you head to the store and see which deals are available. Are your favorite brands offering deals? Are you willing to try a different brand to save a few bucks?

We don’t see any diaper cash back deals on the app right now, but keep checking. We also have seen some sneaky ways to get free diapers.

If you haven’t tried Ibotta yet and you have a bouncing baby bungling your budget, now is the time to sign up.

With all the money you’ll save, you can get a great start on that college fund… because you do want them to get a great job and move out eventually, right?

Instead of one campaign, Battlefield V revisits the format laid down on Battlefield 1 of breaking the single-player campaign into individual, brilliantly written, tonally diverse “War Stories.” One of our favorites is called “Nordys.” set in Rjukan, Norway, in the spring of 1943, which is the tale of a young resistance fighter charged with freeing an allied scientist being imprisoned behind enemy lines, taking her away from the interrogation that would allow the war to swing in the Nazi’s favor. It’s an extremely moving story, which pits you against the brutal chill of the Scandinavian wilds as much as it does more traditional German enemies. Oh, and you get to ski in it, too. Trust us when we say that you haven’t lived until you’ve skied away from a Nazi desperately bellowing, “Come back here!”

NO ONE WAY TO FIGHT

Variety is the key to understanding War Stories. DICE have been on record as saying they wanted to create experiences that could see you fly planes, drive tanks, as well as fight on the ground. The different stories allow you to do that. Similarly, there’s not just one way to play each story. Take “Nordys” for example. When you come to the Nazi base, you can either proceed with stealth or you can get in a truck and drive through the gate all guns blazing. There’s no one way to get from A to B. Different ways of playing unlock different experiences. These aren’t stories you’ll experience just once, but many times, and from many angles.

“Under No Flag” is probably the most traditional story on show, though it’s premise is far from boring. You’re Arthur Bridger, a bit of a bad seed who’s given the choice between spending the war behind bars or making up a brigade of young lads given the chance to work their crimes off by joining the fight. Arthur is a bit Danny Dyer, and also a bit Rambo. His story is written with strong emotions as well as some genuinely funny, laugh-out-loud moments — and it features a cool twist later on. There are also some intriguing strategy elements, like finding high ground to use your binoculars and plan the route ahead. We really want to tell you more about the twist, but we can’t. Just trust us when we say that it’s really, really good…

STORIES LESS TOLD

When we mentioned Battlefield V’s mission to shine a light on stories rarely told, we really weren’t exaggerating. “Tirailleur” positions you as a young Senegalese man called Deme Cisse, who is drafted to fight for a homeland he’s never even seen, as part of the French Colonial Empire. The story takes place within the framework of Operation Dragoon, which was the code name for the Allied invasion of Southern France on August 15, 1944. It’s another example of the game presenting a different take on World War II, showing you things the history books so frequently have failed to mention. It’s a story about racism and nationhood and the fight for acceptance. We’re not ashamed to admit that we found this one really moving.

More to Come

If that wasn’t enough, there’s a War Story coming post-launch, that might just be the most ambitious, nuanced story Battlefield has ever tried to tell. It’s called “The Last Tiger,” and it’s set from the perspective of the Nazis — the only War Story to do so — as the Allies close in on a decimated Berlin in the closing days of the war. In it, an exhausted, war-weary Tiger tank brigade tear apart the Nazi ideology that led them to this point. DICE needs to be applauded for such brave storytelling, and we’re really looking forward to the reaction to it. The story really is symbolic of what Battlefield V is trying to do, which is to entertain you, yes, but also to really immerse you within the varying emotions, motivations, and consequences to come out of the bloodiest battle the world has ever seen.

'The Possession of Hannah Grace' May Scare the Dead Back to Life; Here's Everything We Know

"When you die, you die" is a phrase that is repeated several times in the trailer for The Possession of Hannah Grace, which is a thought that can reassure anyone worried that the dead might return to life in a very bad mood. Of course, countless horror movies have sought to disprove that phrase by reanimating corpses to very frightening effect.

The Possession of Hannah Grace introduces the protagonist in a sympathetic manner before quickly moving on to its scary setup, making sure…

‘Green Book’ Explores Racism and Friendship in the '60s Deep South; Here's Everything We Know

The road trip is a time-honored cinematic tradition that is renewed with a very real sense of racism and danger in Green Book. Rather than a dry historical treatment, however, director Peter Farrelly infuses the film with wry humor and a welcome consideration of the roots of the differences that can divide us.

Remaining focused on the two lead characters bolsters the film immeasurably, since we get to know them intimately, even as they get to know each other. The relationship is…

Everything You Need To Know About Open Enrollment

Why is open enrollment season for health insurance important?

Open enrollment is the annual period when you can enroll in or change your health insurance coverage for the upcoming year. Additionally, if you receive other benefits through your employers – life insurance, unemployment insurance – this is a great time to make any adjustments to these policies as well. Open enrollment is usually the only time you can makes changes, so it is important to understand your options and needs ahead of time.

When is open enrollment period this year?

For those getting health insurance coverage through healthcare.gov, open enrollment runs from November 1 to December 15. However, in some states like California you can sign up for Affordable Care Act plans later. Outside of these dates, you are only able enroll in a health insurance plan if you experience major life events like getting married, changing jobs, losing previous health coverage or circumstances that qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period.

For employer-provided health insurance and other benefits, the timing can vary by company. It is generally in the fall, between October 1 and December 31. If your job offers health insurance and other benefits but you do not know when your company’s open enrollment period is, contact your HR department.

What should we keep in mind when choosing our healthcare coverage?

The most important thing is to understand your options. If you receive your health insurance through your job, you can go to your human resources department about what plans are offered. If your job doesn’t provide healthcare, go to the state or federal marketplaces for the Affordable Care Act to search plan options and costs. Again, the best place to go for this is healthcare.gov.

Next, review the plan type. You will likely run into the acronyms HMO or PPO. These stand for health maintenance organization and preferred provider organization, respectively. Generally speaking, the difference between HMO and PPO plans includes the size of the plan network, ability to see specialists, plan costs, and coverage for out-of-network services. Compare each plan’s summary of benefits to learn more. Your HR department or the online marketplace will provide these.

Finally, determine the best plan for your healthcare needs and your finances. When doing this you want to take into account you and your family’s healthcare requirements. If you are single and healthy, it may be best to go with a low premium, high deductible plan. If you have a family, numerous prescriptions or past health issues, more coverage and a higher monthly premium may be a better option.

What other benefits should we be thinking during open enrollment?

If you have the option of receiving life and unemployment insurance, I would recommend purchasing this coverage. As you have heard me say before, 1 in 4 people will be involved in an accident that prevents them from working for a period during their life. If something happens to you, life and unemployment insurance will protect your family from financial catastrophe.

Open enrollment is also a great time to review your retirement preparations. Most employer-sponsored retirement plans allow you to make changes at any time, but it is always a good idea to check that your contributions, your plan choice and your portfolio mix are aligned with your current goals. If your employer offers matching, be sure you’re getting all the free money on the table. Finally, it is also a good time to talk to your financial advisor about your plan’s performance.

The Trump administration has shifted a number of healthcare policies. Can you talk about what is new this year?

The Trump Administration has made several changes to the ACA’s rules. In last year’s tax bill, they include a provision that removed the tax penalty for those who don’t buy coverage, essentially removing the requirement that every American had to have health insurance. This means you will not pay a fee for not having health insurance, though I would caution going without is a bad idea. The administration has also made it easier for some people to buy short-term policies that do not include all the consumer coverage protections of an ACA policy.

In reaction to this, some states have made their own changes. In May, New Jersey adopted its own individual mandate, and California banned the sale of short-term health policies that don’t meet ACA standards. Maryland and Alaska have each added other programs to stabilize the insurance marketplace.

Unfortunately, the repeal of the individual mandate and the legalization of short term insurance, along with other regulatory changes made by the administration, have caused some uncertainly in the markets, and we have seen premiums rise about 16 percent higher this year according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. That may mean some of us will pay more for coverage this coming year.

As long as you're going to remake a movie, you might as well do something different with the material. That's why musical remakes are so much more interesting than straight rehashes. We've seen it recently with Hairspray and The Producers, but music-infused remakes used to be a pretty common occurrence in Hollywood.

In the same chapel, just five months ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot, giving the British monarchy its greatest boost in a generation. This wedding is likely to have the opposite effect on royal poll ratings.

In many ways, the two ceremonies will be surprisingly similar: Harry had 800 guests, Eugenie is having 850. Harry invited 1,000 members of the public, selected by ballot, Eugenie is having 1,200. Harry and Meghan had a carriage ride through the streets of Windsor, Eugenie and Jack are having one too. Harry and Meghan had glorious weather; Eugenie and Jack no doubt want the same.

But some things will be very different.

Jon’s Final Words Changed Everything on ‘Million Little Things’

Moving on isn’t easy – in fact, it may seem impossible for the Dixon family. Jon’s (Ron Livingston) wife, kids and best friends attempted to move forward during the Wednesday, October 3, episode of A Million Little Things. While it’s not easy, at least they have each other.

The episode picked up the day after the funeral, with everyone gathering at Delilah (Stephanie Szostak)’s house for breakfast, to make sure she wasn’t alone. However, the tension with Eddie (David Giuntoli) was still in the air, and they struggled to keep it hidden throughout the episode. It didn’t help that it was Sophie’s father-daughter recital and her dad had just died. When she needed someone to stop in, she chose Eddie.

Of course, Delilah thought it was a horrible idea, especially after she found Eddie’s necklace in Jon’s bedside table. Clearly, he had known about their affair. Eddie didn’t want to step aside because he felt he had to be there for Sophie. However, he froze just before it was time to perform, passing the baton to Rome (Romany Malco). Rome, who has continued to suffer with his own suicidal thoughts and even went back to the spot Jon took his own life, stepped in perfectly. It may have been because Jon had been coming to him for help … or he was teaching him the dance moves because he had planned the suicide.

While waiting for the dance to begin, Eddie listened to Jon’s voicemail (even though he told his friends Jon didn’t leave one). “Hey it’s Jon. I was hoping to speak to you, not just leave you a message,” his best friend said on the message. “I just need you to do me a favor: love each other.”

However, that wasn’t Jon’s only surprise. He had also left the restaurant to not just Regina (Christina Moses) but also Delilah – something his wife didn’t even know, even though he’d been talking about buying the restaurant for a year. He assistant Ashley (Christina Ochoa) played coy when delivering the news, assuming that she had known. Little did she know, Ashley had opened the folder that Jon had left to his wife, the folder she never even gave to Delilah.

Inside was a goodbye letter that included the following phrases: “There’s an envelope behind the painting; Ashley had no idea I was going to do this; ask her what she’s doing, as I don’t want you; doesn’t know what you know, she will be protected.” Ashley found Jon’s life insurance plan behind the painting, which revealed his primary beneficiaries were Eddie, Rome, Gary (James Roday) and a mystery woman named Barbara Morgan.

Elsewhere in the episode, Gary and Maggie (Allison Miller) continued to get closer while she pushed away a man from her past — maybe even a husband? — and admitted that even though she had cancer for the second time (something she’s still hiding from Gary), she’s happier than she’s ever been.

When Gary wasn’t with her, he was spending time with Jon’s son, Danny, who was questioning his sexuality and wondering if he was to blame for his dad’s suicide. In a touching moment, Gary told Danny that if his dad did know that his son was gay, he would love him even more, just like Gary did.

A Million Little Things airs on ABC Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.

'Wonder Woman' Star Gal Gadot Joins 'Death on the Nile'; Here's Everything We Know

The global success of last year's Murder on the Orient Express has led to Fox's greenlight of a sequel, which will be based on another Agatha Christie novel, Death on the Nile. Similar to the previous movie, Death on the Nile is set to have a star-studded ensemble. The first of which has just been…
