Needles Unveils Understated Ghillie Sneakers for Fall/Winter 2018

Needles has unveiled its latest selection of the signature Ghillie sneaker for the FW18 season. The sneaker is one of the label’s stand out items, coming in a cow suede upper with contrasting canvas panels. The shoe is known for its sulphur dying technique, something that’s continued on this collection, with each one hand-dyed.

This method ensures that each shoe will be a one-of-one, however slightly. This season the shoes are of a more psychedelic feel overall, with the dying more apparent than in previous seasons. The Needles Ghillie sneaker will be available from HAVEN shop later this year.

In related news, Birkenstock turned down collaborations with Vetements and Supreme.

JW Anderson Presents His Co-Ed Fall/Winter 2018 Collection

As the boundary between womenswear and menswear continues to merge, British label JW Anderson decided to provide a co-ed Fall/Winter 2018 show. The perceptive move, which follows many longstanding luxury houses, will free up future LFW schedule space for already harried fashion personalities and buyers.

This year’s presentation drew heavily on fall heritage colors, namely, khaki, beige, dark brown and army green. Clean cut knits are provided as well as sweaters donning contemporary art graphics. JW Anderson experiments with silhouettes providing creativity in the form of pockets and multi-panel construction on pants and rabbit motifs on sweaters. Despite hits of panache, the garments remain distinctly loyal to an everyday aesthetic, thus lending itself easily to retail racks.

A Look at Robert Geller’s 2018 Fall/Winter Collection

After celebrating his 10th anniversary and taking a break to reconstruct his company, New York designer Robert Geller is back in full force with a new 2018 fall/winter men’s collection. The clothes pay homage to Geller’s childhood, as he recalls joyous Saturdays filled with soccer matches with friends. From this, his imagination took him to the neighborhood of Charlottenburg in Berlin, where Geller imagined what a fictional soccer team representing the place would have worn. He then combined these imagined visuals with inspirations from ’80s Olympic uniforms and military athletic outfits.

The collection finds casual harmony amongst faded fabrics, cloaking layers, and vintage athletic forms. The colors at first glance are simple and grey. However on closer inspection, reveal more complex shades and tones achieved by pigment dyes and hand rubbing treatments in Japan. Check out all the details in the photos above. ANB BRAND Presents Cool Collegiate Vibes in Fall/Winter 2017 Lookbook

Chinese streetwear label ANB BRAND‘s Fall/Winter 2017 range is inspired by the American collegiate style. The vibe takes cues from a fictional U.S. campus set in the ’90s and a student who the collection is based on — he studies at the school but lives in the city’s nearby Chinatown. There’s a rebellious air to his attitude which is perfectly translated in his wardrobe.

Included in the range are some typical school style staples such as sweatshirts, varsity jackets, and puffer outerwear pieces for those long winter months. Most of the pieces bear graphics and slogans as well as colorblocking and stripes. To complete the look, accessories such as backpacks, sling bags, and gym bags are added into the mix. Fall/Winter 2017 Accessories Trend Report

We’ve rounded up the top ten accessories trends for Fall/Winter 2017. From the stand-out color to the hosiery of choice, this list will whip your wardrobe into shape for the season.

Power Red

It’s official, we’re seeing red for fall 2017. Last season’s millennial pink has been bumped by its outspoken mama. But don’t limit yourself, thinking you have got to go full scarlet. Experiment with the spectrum of these haute hues that deliver the same fiery flavor. May we suggest HENNA.

Western Fronts

Why choose good cop or bad cop when you can just be a cowboy? Western influenced footwear returns for F/W17. Pointier silhouettes and Cuban heels feel fresh and ready for a sartorial stand-off.  Try these sharp shooters.

Cross Your Heart

Life doesn’t seem to be slowing down, so it’s no surprise that cross-bodies are a perennial fave, allowing for freedom of movement.  Keeping essentials close, it’s a must-have in every accessory wardrobe. Hands up, those in agreement!

New York, NYFW FW 2015 day 7

2 for 1

Belt bags are back with a bang this season. We’re attributing it to a growing trend for functional fashion. This accessory is a calling card to cool but also oh, practical – keeping you go-tos close at hand. An added bonus? Creating a dynamic focal point for even the most casual outfit.

Hear Me Out

Debatably, the most playful and easiest trend of the moment is one that appeared in S/S17.  From statement hoops to fringed danglers and everything in between – your lobes are two little canvases just waiting to be adorned. Bad hair days be damned, with embellished ears – no one will notice.

Fishing for Compliments

Those of you with a sharp eye saw this one coming. Fishnets made an appearance last year paired with ripped jeans and sneaks and they migrated into fall. This holey look is anything but innocent, dialling up the drama for day. If you’re timid to go full net, toe the trend with fishnet socks. Ground your look with a chunkier shoe to take the edge off.

The Top Off

Keep a cool head this fall, taking a note from the boys. Baseball caps are the it-silhouette for F/W17. Branded, textured or rocking a bold color – these hats deliver a big bonus cutting hair prep in half on hectic mornings!

Mini Me

From night’s out to the daily commute, a lighter load just makes sense. Mini handbags serve big style day to night and feel oh, so fresh. Chic cross-bodies and mini knapsacks, there a spectrum of styles that mimic the look of your bigger bags without weighing you down.

Get Waisted

Never underestimate the details. Create shape and dimension with a wide belt that defines your waist. This season, bigger is better in the belt department. Cinch, tie, buckle, wrap for a center piece that’s a conversation starter. Try this look here.

The 5 Most Political Moments From New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2017

New York Fashion Week wasn’t just about clothes this year ― it was also about the message.

This February, designers finally began making some bold moves toward inclusivity and diversity. But other shows also became political acts of resistance, like when LSR sent models down the runway in clothes denouncing President Trump’s Muslim travel ban and proposed wall between Mexico and the U.S. Or when designers and models wore white bandanas to signal they were part of the opposition, and pink Planned Parenthood pins to show their support.

No matter the action, however big or small, the fashion world made it clear it won’t tolerate the intolerance found in the current political climate.

1. “F**k Your Wall” clothing.

Mexican-born designer Raul Solis had a clear-cut message for Donald Trump in his LSR NYFW show. He printed “No Ban, No Wall” and “F**k Your Wall” on models’ underwear. Solis told Dazed Digital he opposed Trump’s wall because the designer’s family is “first generation Mexican and some had to migrate to the U.S., [so] this issue is something extremely personal to me.”

2. Trolling Trump with his signature slogan.

Public School New York put a fun spin on Donald Trump’s campaign hat and made it their own. They put the slogan on a cropped sweatshirt and hats for the show.

3. White bandanas for solidarity, unity and inclusiveness.

The news site Business of Fashion started the bandana movement to show solidarity during a time of turmoil. Designers like Tommy Hilfiger, Prabal Gurung, Tommy Hilfiger, Thakoon, Phillip Lim, and Diane von Furstenberg either incorporated the bandanas into their shows or simply wore them.

4. “This Is Not America” music.

Raf Simons’ Calvin Klein debut included a mix of David Bowie’s 1985 song, “This Is Not America.” Attendees were also given white bandanas to wear before the show started.

5. Fashion’s Planned Parenthood stance.

Thanks to a partnership between the CFDA and Planned Parenthood, over 40 designers joined forces to include PP pins at their shows. The pins were also given out to PR people, modeling agencies, influencers and press throughout NYFW, along with a pamphlet outlining all the services Planned Parenthood offers.
