Isa Arfen Puts Collection on Hold for Fall 2019

LONDON — Designer Serafina Sama has decided to hit the pause button on her Isa Arfen brand for fall 2019 in order to rethink its direction. Sama, who founded the brand seven years ago, will not be presenting a fall 2019 collection, either to buyers or to press.
“I am not shuttering the business, but rather taking a hiatus to refocus and review what the next phase should be for the brand that I have nurtured and grown over the past seven years,” Sama said in an interview, adding that the shifting landscape of the industry and its increasingly rapid pace were main reasons behind her decision.
“As a brand, we are always under pressure to produce more collections for an audience with a very short attention span,” said Arfen, adding that she wants to take time to “review, refocus and reenergize,” in order to ensure the brand is less wasteful. “I want to look at ways of producing more responsibly. At the end of each season, there are so many samples, canceled styles, leftover fabrics — all this stuff that nobody needs.”
Exploring the direct-to-consumer route further or producing more focused collections with smaller drops or limited runs are among the strategies

Max Mara to Hold Resort 2020 Show in Berlin

MAX MARA ON THE ROAD: Max Mara is once again taking its resort collection on the road. The Italian fashion brand will show its 2020 resort collection in Berlin on June 3 in a location that has yet to be revealed.
Last year Max Mara held its resort show at the Collezione Maramotti museum of contemporary art works in Reggio Emilia, Italy, where the company is based. Max Mara is owned by the Maramotti family.
Before that, Shanghai was the stage for the brand’s pre-fall 2017 collection, London for its resort 2016 collection and New York for its pre-fall 2015 lineup.
The decision to show in Berlin underscores the relevance of the German market for the brand, which is designed by creative director Ian Griffiths.
As reported, Prada and Louis Vuitton will show their resort 2020 and cruise collections in New York, on May 2 and 8, respectively.

Benetton to Hold First Show With Jean-Charles de Castelbajac

BENETTON’S NEW COLORS: United Colors of Benetton is planning its first runway show with the artistic direction of fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, who joined the Italian company in October. The show, to be held on Feb. 19, will kick off Milan Fashion Week, which is slated to end on Feb. 25.
The arrival of de Castelbajac, who is in charge of both the men’s and women’s collections, is a new role for the company,  and one hailed as a major step for the label, following the return of Luciano Benetton as chairman of the group in January last year.
De Castelbajac first launched his brand Ko & Co with his mother Jeanne-Blanche de Castelbajac in 1968 in Limoges. The designer inspired trends such as the “anti-fashion” movement and the alternative use of objects such as rags and sponges to decorate garments.
In 1974, he cofounded Iceberg, and in 1978, he launched the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac brand, which he left in 2016. Over the years, he has also collaborated with Max Mara, Ellesse, Courrèges, Rossignol and Le Coq Sportif. Blending punk and pop references, his style dovetails with Benetton’s use of strong colors and a whimsical and irreverent touch.

Homme Plissé Issey Miyake to Hold First Presentation in Paris

NEW PLEATS: Homme Plissé Issey Miyake, a men’s line from the Japanese designer, is holding its first presentation in Paris on Jan. 17.
Choreographed by Daniel Ezralow, the artistic presentation will take place at the Pompidou Center at 9 p.m., following the Issey Miyake show earlier in the day at 11 a.m. in the Palais de Tokyo. Ezralow choreographed a presentation for Homme Plissé Issey Miyake featuring the men’s gymnastics team of Aomori University in 2013. The Pompidou Center presentation will take place in same space as a recent exhibit on Japanese architect Tadao Ando, a large room with windows lining one side.
Homme Plissé Issey Miyake was established in 2013 as a masculine counterpart to Pleats Please, which was launched two decades prior. The clothing is meant to be light and comfortable, with uniform pleats to keep fabric from sticking too close to the skin.
Designed by Miyake and his teams, pieces to be featured in the presentation are part of the fall winter 2019 collection, with most of the items pleated after being cut and sewn. The line has been growing with an offer ranging from ath-leisure and casual style clothing to suits.
In another recent Paris performance, Issey Miyake opened the

Hold Up, Beyonce Did Not Release New Music

There’s no more juice in Beyonce’s lemonade jar: The singer did not release new music though two albums featuring old Beyonce songs hit streaming services Thursday.

Under the name Queen Carter, the albums “Have Your Way” and “Back Up, Rewind” appeared on Spotify and Apple Music, featuring demos, previously released songs and unreleased tracks by Beyonce. Hours later, they were removed.

The 10-track “Have Your Way” included songs like “After All Is Said and Done,” Beyonce’s duet with Marc Nelson from the “Best Man” soundtrack, released in 1999; “Hollywood,” a song with Jay-Z from his 2006 album, “Kingdom Come”; and “Hey Goldmember” from the soundtrack for 2002’s “Austin Powers in Goldmember,” which starred Beyonce. It also featured “Crazy Feelings,” the singer’s collaboration with Missy Elliott from the rapper’s sophomore album, 1999’s “Da Real World”; and “Fever,” a cover of the ’50’s hit used in an ad for Beyonce’s perfume and for the soundtrack for “The Fighting Temptations,” another film Beyonce appeared in.

“Back Up, Rewind,” featured 11 tracks including “Keep Giving Your Love to Me,” from the “Bad Boys II” soundtrack, released in 2003, and “What It’s Gonna Be,” a Beyonce bonus track from 2003.

The stand-alone song, “Control,” also appeared on streaming services.

Representatives for Beyonce, Apple Music and Spotify didn’t immediately return emails seeking comment.

Beyonce’s last three albums were released in surprise form: her self-titled album came out in 2013; “Lemonade” followed in 2016; and “Everything is Love,” her collaborative album with Jay-Z where the couple is billed as The Carters, was released earlier this year.

R&B singer SZA on Thursday addressed an album of her older demos that recently hit streaming services under the name Sister Solana (her real name is Solana Rowe). SZA called the project “random scratches from 2015” and explained that the songs are “def not new new!”

Heather Locklear Put on 5150 Psychiatric Hold After Reported Breakdown

Heather Locklear has been put on a 5150 psychiatric hold, according to multiple reports.

The Daily Mail, the first to report the news, claimed Locklear was placed on the 5150 hold because she had assaulted her boyfriend, Chris Heisser, but TMZ reports no crime was committed and the hold was requested as a precaution.

Locklear was at home on the afternoon of Sunday, November 18, when her therapist realized she was having a mental breakdown and needed help, after which someone called 911, according to TMZ.

The 5150 hold, an involuntary 72-hour psychiatric hold, is the latest setback for the Melrose Place actress, whose run-ins with authorities have made headlines throughout the year.

Locklear was arrested in February for attacking a police officer after a domestic dispute with Heisser.

The Dynasty alum was then hospitalized in June for psychiatric evaluation after a family member claimed she was acting erratically and threatening to hurt herself, according to an Us Weekly source at the time.

That same month, Locklear was arrested for two counts of misdemeanor battery on a police officer and emergency personnel, after she allegedly punched one sheriff’s deputy and kicked an EMT.

Hours after her arrest on June 24, the six-time Golden Globe nominee was hospitalized for a possible overdose. “She didn’t want to leave her home to get further treatment that she had agreed to get earlier in the day,” a source told Us at the time. “Authorities were called when Heather said she had taken prescription medication and there [were] concerns she had taken more than she had been prescribed.”

Locklear subsequently sought professional help for the second time in three months, according to multiple sources. “[She is] entering long-term treatment for mental health and other issues,” one insider told Us.

Her troubles only continued, however. Jennifer Hayn-Hilton, the EMT in the June incident, sued the actress earlier this month, alleging that Locklear “struck, kicked and battered” her and said she hoped the paramedic’s children “would all die of AIDS.”

Locklear, whose last screen credit was a February 2017 episode of Too Close to Home, shares one daughter, 21-year-old Ava Sambora, with ex-husband Richie Sambora.

Family of Baby Girl, Who Was Stabbed and Put in Heated Oven, Hold Funeral for the 20-Month-Old

Royalty Floyd, the 20-month-old Mississippi toddler who was allegedly stabbed and then placed in a heated oven by her own grandmother, was laid to rest on Saturday in Clarksdale.

The family of the slain baby girl came together to say their final goodbyes dressed in pink, per request of Royalty’s mother Veronica Jones, who said it was her daughter’s “favorite color” on Facebook.

“You are gone from this earth but you will forever be here in my heart. You were really truly one of the most beautiful creations that God had ever made and I would like to thank God for bringing you into my life,” Veronica wrote ahead of Royalty’s service.

At the funeral, Royalty’s grandfather delivered a tearful eulogy about his late granddaughter.

“She was ‘Big Girl.’ But from the day she was born, she was granddaddy’s baby girl. And she knew it,” Royalty’s grandfather James Harris said, WREG-TV reported.

“I miss her,” Harris continued. “But she’ll always be with me. Always.”

Royalty’s father John Floyd, who is still in shock over his daughter’s gruesome death, also managed to say a few words at the funeral.

“I still find it unbelievable to tell you the truth,” John said, WREG-TV reported.

“And to try and make heads or tails of what happened, it’s still something I can’t comprehend right now. It ain’t soaking in for some reason. I’m thinking one day this is all something that isn’t real,” John added.

On Oct. 15, authorities were called to a residence in the small city of Shaw after a family member discovered Royalty’s lifeless body burnt and stabbed inside a heated oven.

Royalty was alive when her grandmother, 48-year-old Carolyn Jones allegedly placed her inside the oven.

A deputy coroner at the Bolivar County Coroner’s office in Mississippi told The Bolivar Commercial that the young child died “from sharp stab wounds and inhaling the heated air in the oven.”

On the night of the little girl’s death, Carolyn was immediately taken into custody and has been charged with first-degree murder, the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to PEOPLE.

Carolyn is currently being represented by a public defender.  PEOPLE could not immediately reach the public defender.

When contacted by the Associated Press, a public defender declined to comment, saying he’s still learning about the case.

The Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department also told PEOPLE, the child “was living at the residence with Jones at the time of the murder.”

“I’ve been in law enforcement a long time, 26 years almost. Some of the most horrific scenes I’ve seen in law enforcement involve children. Those are some of the— they have an effect on us. We don’t want it to happen, but unfortunately, things like this happen,” Bolivar County Sheriff Kevin Williams said in a press conference on Oct. 16, WREG reported.

When asked for a motive, Williams said, “We are trying to figure that out ourselves. We have no idea at this point.”

Royalty’s mother also created a GoFundMe and raised over $ 6,000 to cover Royalty’s funeral costs.
