Please don’t buy an iPhone X right now

iPhone XR vs iPhone X: Which to buy

If you were doing something boring and normal like sleeping last night, you probably missed that iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max pre-orders kicked off at 3AM Eastern Time last night. The new iPhones will be in stores in a week, which means we’ve officially entered the dangerous twilight zone where a handful of misinformed (or desperate) people are going to buy an iPhone X for an eye-watering amount of money, either out of ignorance or need. Don’t be one of them.

Apple has done something unusual this year, entirely killing off the 2017 iPhone X in favor of new and shinier models. Normally, when a new flagship comes out, Apple simply discounts the previous-year model, and it becomes the “cheap” iPhone option. This year, that isn’t going to happen, because in addition to the iPhone XS, Apple also launched the iPhone XR, a $ 749 iPhone for people who don’t care about things like OLED vs LCD.

Apple might be debuting a brown iPhone, and, well, yeah…

TwitterFacebook

It looks like Apple is about to redefine courageAgain

As the world anxiously awaits the hours-long press conference set to take place Sept. 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater, one exciting iPhone-related tidbit appears to have dribbled out ahead of time: One of the colors the new 6.1-Inch iPhone will come in is some form of brown.

That’s right, for those in search of that elusive “Yes, I only text you back while pooping” look, Apple just might have you covered.

This revelation was brought to our attention by Ben Geskin, who often tweets Apple leaks, with several photos allegedly depicting SIM trays from one of the three iPhones expected to be unveiled tomorrow. The colors — at least according to the pics — include space gray, silver, red, blue, and a particularly awful shade of brown.  Read more…

Why buying an iPhone X knockoff can be a security nightmare

iPhone X Fake

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine travelling through China sent me an email and asked if I’d be interested in a knockoff iPhone 5. “How much is it?” I asked. “About $ 50,” my friend answered. I decided to pass. Though I was intrigued about what it was like to use a mythical iPhone knockoff, $ 50 seemed a little steep to satiate what was nothing more than mild curiosity.

My friend ended up picking up an iPhone knockoff for himself, and when I used it briefly, it was entertaining though clearly not a bonafide Apple product from both a hardware and software perspective. Years later, iPhone knockoffs have gotten markedly better at mimicking iOS. More worrisome, though, is that some iPhone knockoffs can be downright dangerous. While a cheap iPhone knockoff can be fun to play around with for a few mins, Jason Koebler of Motherboard recently discovered that such knockoffs can be brimming with malware.

Kiwi might be the perfect mobile browser and I’m so jealous it’s not on the iPhone

Android Vs iPhone

Since almost the dawn of on-device app stores, a theme has emerged: third-party app developers tend to focus more on iOS than on Android. The discrepancy began in the very early days of this mobile platform generation and has persisted even today. Despite the fact that Android has a much larger share of the global smartphone market, developers in general seem much more focused on Apple’s iOS platform than on Android. Maybe iPhone users spend money more freely, or perhaps Apple’s developer tools are more attractive. Whatever the case, we always seem to be talking about an iOS application when discussing a new app that’s only available on one platform.

Well, not today.

This is what the Galaxy S10 and iPhone X of our dreams would look like

Galaxy S10 vs. iPhone X

If yesterday’s phone launch proves anything, it’s that we’ve reached peak smartphone design. In a world of iPhone X clones, Oppo came up with a crazy new phone that forces itself not to copy the notch. Of course, the irony that the Find X looks just like a Galaxy S/Note or that Color OS looks a lot like Apple iOS doesn’t escape us.

However, the Find X design is hardly perfect. We’ve got a motorized camera system that slides up whenever you want to unlock the phone, take a picture, or take a selfie. It’s a neat concept, but it’s destined to fail for a couple of reasons. The first one I already mentioned, the motorized sliding mechanism. The second one is related to the first one. This phone doesn’t have any water resistance, and that’s not what we want for the future of smartphones.

Why the iPhone X notch design looks better than Android copycats

iPhone X Vs Android

When Apple first introduced the iPhone X, the design was met with its fair share of controversy. Though everyone appreciated the device’s edgeless display, it was hard for many people to wrap their minds around the unseemly notch. Sure, there was no way for Apple to embed the device’s video and Face ID components underneath the display, but many wondered why Apple simply didn’t choose to hide the notch by making the flaps to the left and right of the image sensor black. Instead, Apple all but instructed developers and users to fully embrace the notch.

A week or two after its release, it became overwhelmingly clear that the uproar surrounding the iPhone X notch was overblown. For a vast majority of users, the notch, though perhaps annoying at first, quickly faded into the background and became a non-factor. Before long, we even started seeing a slew of Android handset manufacturers start to copy the iPhone X design, right down to the notch itself. To this point, just a few weeks ago a photo featuring 20 Android handsets with iPhone X-style notch designs began making the rounds.

Apple might finally fix the iPhone names this year

iPhone X 2018 Names

This fall, Apple will launch three iPhone models, which we’ve been referring to as iPhone X successors when discussing rumors, as it’s not clear what Apple will call them. Reports say we’re looking at one LCD model and two OLED versions, with all of them expected to feature iPhone X-like designs, notch included. That’s not really helpful when it comes to product names.

The LCD version is expected to be the cheapest new phone this year, therefore the device will be more of an iPhone 8 successor. However, Apple can’t call it iPhone 8s, or — even worse — iPhone 9. As for the two OLED models, there’s no name that makes sense other than iPhone X and iPhone X Plus.

The system-wide dark mode everyone wants on the iPhone is finally coming… to Macs

macOS dark mode

After revealing that iOS 12 will support the iPhone 5s earlier today, 9to5Mac has returned with another surprise. While poking around in the WebKit source code (which is the engine that power Safari), the site stumbled upon an intriguing piece of code that seems to imply that Apple will be adding a system-wide dark mode to Mac.

As 9to5Mac explains, new code implemented into WebKit in March indicates that Apple will introduce an official dark mode in macOS 10.14, which will be the next major release of the operating system after High Sierra. The code that 9to5Mac discovered “is designed to adapt WebKit’s rendering of a website based on the effective appearance of the application.” This could allow macOS to change the look of UI components across the system.

Regulatory filings suggest Apple’s first new iPhone of 2018 could debut in May or June

iPhone X Plus Release Date

It’s difficult to call the response to Apple’s iPhone X tepid considering the phone has made three times more money than every major Android vendor combined. But at least a half-dozen reliable independent reports at this point have said that Apple cut iPhone X manufacturing and parts orders multiple times since the phone was released last November. Tens of millions of iPhone X units have been sold at this point, but estimates are still far below analyst expectations, and they’re apparently well short of Apple’s expectations, too. The sky-high price tag, which starts at $ 1,000, is undoubtedly a factor. Another factor could be anticipation of this year’s iPhone launches, which will reportedly include a lower-cost version of the iPhone X and an “iPhone X Plus” with a larger OLED display.

For those reasons and more, Apple’s 2018 flagship iPhone launches are eagerly anticipated by Apple fans around the world. The bad news is they’ll all have to wait until September to get their hands on Apple’s iPhone X successors, including the less expensive version and the larger iPhone X Plus. But the good news is Apple supposedly has a fourth new iPhone model planned for release this year, and it could hit store shelves as soon as next month.

In 2016, the FBI’s legal quest to force Apple to unlock the iPhone 5c of the San Bernadino shooter brought the issue of phone encryption fully into the public conciousness. Although people generally knew that smartphones were secure, it wasn’t until the highly public court case that people realized even the country’s top law-enforcement agency couldn’t easily crack basic consumer hardware.

Trying to break the encryption on the iPhone is a constantly-evolving cat-and-mouse game, and not many law enforcement agencies are capable of taking part. Rather than hiring their own cryptographers, law enforcement around the country instead buys “exploits” from hacking firms, who sell their technology to anyone who can pay tens of thousands of dollars. A new type of iPhone cracker, called the GrayKey, is a simple-to-use box that can reportedly crack the latest iPhone X running iOS 11, and as you’d expect, cops are lining up to buy it.

The first parts for Apple’s new iPhone X models may begin production in just a few weeks

iPhone X 2018

When Apple launched the iPhone X this past November, the device wasn’t exactly easy to find. Due to some manufacturing hurdles, it took a few weeks before Apple was able to ramp up supply to sufficiently meet demand. Looking ahead to Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup, we’ve seen reports that Apple is planning to begin iPhone production a little bit earlier than usual to ensure that the company’s new iPhone models are in plentiful supply when they launch later this year, presumably in September.

With that said, a new report from ETNews (via PhoneArena) relays that Samsung is already gearing up to begin OLED production for new iPhone models. The initial production run in May is said to be in the 2-3 million range, with the production rate likely to double by June. Recall, Apple will likely introduce two iPhones this year with OLED displays, a 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus and a second-gen iPhone X. More interesting, though, is the tidbit that Apple and Samsung are still negotiating on price for the OLED panels.

Don’t buy iPhone X leather cases from Apple when 6 different colors are discounted on Amazon

Apple Leather iPhone X Case

Apple makes pretty snazzy leather cases for its new flagship iPhone X, but at $ 50 they’re pretty expensive. That said, they do offer very good protection and they also look fantastic, which is no surprise since Apple made them. Of course, why would you pay full price at an Apple store or on Apple’s website when you can get Apple’s OEM iPhone X Leather Case on Amazon in a bunch of different colors at a discount? Six different colors are covered in Amazon’s sale, including the post popular colors Black and Saddle Brown. Our favorite is Charcoal Gray, and it’s even cheaper than the two aforementioned colors right now, as is Midnight Blue. Finally, you can also save on Taupe and (PRODUCT)RED leather cases for the iPhone X.

Here’s what you need to know about these cases from the product page:

  • They’re made from specially tanned and finished European Leather, so the outside feels soft to the touch and develops a natural patina over time.
  • The machined aluminum buttons match the finish of your Leather case, while a microfiber lining inside helps protect your iPhone.
  • You can keep it on all the time, even when you’re charging wirelessly.; These Apple-designed cases fit snugly over the curves of your iPhone without adding bulk

Apple iPhone X Leather Case – Black: $ 34.30

Apple iPhone X Leather Case – Saddle Brown: $ 34.30

Apple iPhone X Leather Case – Charcoal Gray: $ 34.75

Apple iPhone X Leather Case – Midnight Blue: $ 41.00

A Rose Gold iPhone X May Be Coming

If you’ve been hoping for a rose gold iPhone X, your dreams may be coming true.

Apple plans to introduce a rose gold version of the high-end phone, according to Japanese tech blog Mac Otakara, to go with the existing and relatively monochromatic palette of options: silver and space gray.

The site didn’t name a source for the rumor, but the information mirrors an identical report from last week by well-known Apple leak recipient Ben Geskin. He tweeted an image of a rose gold version of the phone and said that the device was “in production,” Mac Rumors reports.

Apple introduced the iPhone X, which starts at $ 999, in November of 2017 as its top-of-the-line smartphone. But some analysts say it hasn’t been as big a seller as anticipated thanks to its high price tag, and perhaps an additional color will help increase its appeal.

Apple is holding a press event this week in Chicago where it is expected to announce a new version of the MacBook Air laptop as well as a new lower-cost version of the iPad.

Face ID will only come to Android phones next year, but it won’t be the same as the iPhone X

Face ID on Android

A report a few days ago said that Apple has a two-year lead on Android rivals when it comes to the adoption of advanced 3D face-scanning technologies. Many Android device makers may be in a hurry to copy the iPhone X look and feel, and we’ve seen dozens of notch clones already, but these notch bezels won’t house TrueDepth-like cameras.

New reports say that Android device makers will have to wait one more year to deploy devices with 3D-sensing capabilities. When these devices arrive, they might not be Galaxy or Pixel phones. And they might not even launch in international markets at first.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone tipped to launch in 2020, could double as a tablet

Foldable iPhone Release Date

Samsung is currently the most vocal company when it comes to foldable smartphone designs, but the Korean giant has repeatedly made it clear that it is not quite ready to launch the highly-anticipated foldable Galaxy X yet.

That doesn’t mean Samsung is the only smartphone maker designing such a device though. ZTE’s Axon M is one example that comes to mind, and while it’s not for everyone, it is on the market. But Apple has foldable iPhone plans of its own, and some people seem to think the first foldable iOS device will arrive in 2020.

Cellebrite executive talks iPhone hacking in rare interview

iPhone Security

In the wake of the San Bernardino terrorist attack of 2015, Apple found itself involved in a bitter stand-off with the FBI. Famously, Apple refused to create a custom version of iOS that would have provided the FBI with an endless number of passcode guesses in order to access a locked iPhone belonging to one of the terrorists. Not to be deterred, the FBI eventually managed to access the device with the help of a third-party security firm. And though the FBI never publicly disclosed who it partnered up with, reports suggest it was an Israeli-based company called Cellebrite.

While security companies like Cellebrite ideally prefer to avoid the spotlight, the company was thrust back into the news this week following a report that it has developed the capability to essentially hack into any locked iPhone running any iteration of iOS, including the recently released iPhone X. In turn, the company has already started advertising its workaround to law enforcement authorities around the world.

Weaker than expected iPhone X demand supposedly leaves Samsung scrambling for new OLED buyers

iPhone X

Amid reports that Apple has opted to cut iPhone X production for the current quarter, Nikkei Asian Review reports that Apple’s decision has left Samsung scrambling to find new customers for its OLED panels. While a scale-back in iPhone production is normal as Apple transitions from the busy holiday quarter to the relatively uneventful March quarter, there are rumblings that underwhelming demand for the iPhone X has led to more drastic reduction in production than anticipated.

In the build-up to the iPhone X launch, many analysts anticipated that the device would usher in a super-cycle of upgrades. In turn, Samsung ramped up its OLED production to meet what was expected to be staggering demand. With things playing out a bit differently, Samsung — for the time being — now finds itself stuck with an abundance of OLED panels with no buyers capable of picking up the slack.

The most exciting thing about Tim Cook’s promise that Apple will ‘fix’ iPhone throttling

iPhone Slowdown Fix

It finally happened. Apple Tim Cook addressed the whole iPhone-slowdown-gate scandal in a new interview, revealing some major changes coming to iOS soon, to permanently “fix” iPhone throttling.

Apple will still continue to slow your iPhone down in case the operating system deems it necessary, so as to prevent any reboots or iPhone shutdowns. That’s why I say Apple is “fixing” it. But there’s a big difference on how Apple will do it, as it’ll involve the user in the whole process, via an iOS update. And the best thing about it isn’t even that you’re going to be able to prevent slowdowns if you want to, it’s something much cooler than that.

No iPhone X deals, no problem: Apple still sold 6 million last weekend

Black Friday iPhone X

The latest iPhone is usually a hot Black Friday item, but this isn’t a usual iPhone year. Apple launched three new iPhones this year, including two iPhone 8 flavors that launched in late September as expected, and the highly anticipated iPhone X that only hit stores in early November.

That’s why, when it comes to iPhone Black Friday deals, the best you could hope for was iPhone 8 promos and discounts — retailers and carriers delivered that. The iPhone X, on the other hand, was sold out through Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and Apple is far from meeting demand.

The iPhone X’s Face ID is years ahead of Android

iPhone X vs. Galaxy Note 8

The iPhone X brings to the iOS ecosystem a brand new trick that, in time, will probably find its way to other iOS and macOS devices. Face ID is the iPhone X’s signature feature, a facial recognition system that’s more sophisticated than anything available from the competition, and a lot more secure.

Some of the Android fans who have used facial recognition on Samsung phones like the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 will rightly say that Apple hasn’t invented the feature. They may even roll their eyes incredulously if you tell them Apple’s way is better and will probably be copied by their favorite Android device maker. Those people should really read this iPhone X review from an Android blog.

Transparent iPhone X

The iPhone X only comes in black and white, and both versions look so good that you’ll have a hard time choosing between them. But what if I told you there was a way to have a transparent iPhone X instead?

As you might have guessed, this type of iPhone cosmetic alternation is not something Apple condones. You’ll void your warranty, and you might damage the handset in the process. But if everything goes according to plan, you’ll have an iPhone X like no other.

iPhone X demand remains strong as Apple prepares to boost production

iPhone X Sales

Now that we’re about a week removed from the iPhone X launch, it’s become clear that Apple has yet another hit on its hands. Despite reservations about the notch design, not to mention the removal of the tried and true home button, interest in Apple’s latest iPhone is at a level we haven’t seen in years. Even better, Apple has seemingly worked around early production issues which led to relatively limited supply on launch day.

That said, a new research note from reputed analyst Ming Chi-Kuo relays that iPhone X production during the current holiday quarter will fall somewhere in the 25-27 million range. Kuo’s note, which was originally obtained by 9to5Mac, further adds that production is set to increase by upwards of 45% during the first quarter of 2018.

IPhone X Deal Caps Off Busy Week for Apple

With holiday shopping kicking off and the iPhone X finally on store shelves, the Apple universe is heating up.

Over the last several days, talk of potential new products and upgrades dominated Apple headlines. The reports suggest that Apple is considering bringing key iPhone X features, including its Face ID face scanner, to future iPads. The company is also rumored to be working on an augmented reality headset that would let users simultaneously interact with virtual objects, like apps, and the environment around the users.

And in a surprising move, one retailer has become the first to give away a gift card to people who buy a new iPhone X.

Get Data Sheet, Fortune‘s technology newsletter

So, let’s review the biggest headlines from Apple’s past week:

This is Fortune‘s latest weekly roundup of the biggest Apple news. Here’s last week’s roundup.

  1. Apple is working on an augmented reality headset, according to a Bloomberg report. The headset, which likely wouldn’t be released until 2020, would overlay virtual objects on the real world and allow users to interact with both worlds at the same time. In addition to the headset, Apple is also said to be building a new operating system that would power the headset.
  2. Another report this week said that Apple is considering bringing iPhone X design elements to next year’s updated iPad. If true, the tablet would come with the Face ID facial scanner featured in the iPhone X that verifies a person’s identity and gives him or her access to the smartphone’s software. The iPad might also get a design overhaul with a screen that nearly covers its face and leaves no room for the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. In a commentary this week, I argued that Face ID should be available on all Apple hardware, including iPads and Macs. Check it out.
  3. Interested in visiting Apple Park, the company’s new headquarters in Cuptertino, Calif.? Apple will open the its visitor center on Friday, which features an Apple Store, cafe, and a rooftop observation deck from which you can see the rest of Apple’s campus.
  4. In the three-month period ending Sept. 30, Apple shipped 13 million iPhone 7s worldwide, researcher Canalys announced based on its analysis of global smartphone shipments.Meanwhile, Apple shipped 6.3 million iPhone 8 Plus models and 5.4 million iPhone 8s. However, since the iPhone 8 line launched in mid-September, it was available for less than two weeks before the quarter ended.
  5. Apple acknowledged this week that some iPhone X displays may malfunction in cold temperatures. According to Apple, the iPhone X is designed to be used in temperatures between 32 degrees and 95 degrees. If the iPhone X is used outside of that range, its screen could turn off and its battery could lose some charge. When the iPhone X is returned to the standard temperature range, however, it resumes normal operation. Apple plans to release a software update at some point in the future to fix the problem.
  6. Apple this week released a software update to its mobile operating system iOS 11 to fix a bug that autocorrected the letter “i” with a symbol that appeared as “A[?].” Now when iPhone or iPad users type the letter i, the actual letter shows up.

One more thing…If you want to get some cash back on the iPhone X, Sam’s Club is offering a one-day sale today on Apple’s latest smartphone. If you buy the iPhone X at its full $ 999 price, Sam’s Club will give you a $ 250 in-store gift card and waive the $ 40 activation fee to get the smartphone running on your carrier network. The deal is available only in Sam’s Club locations and will expire after today.

Apple just made it easy for iPhone X buyers to check in-store availability online

iPhone X Release

In something of a throwback to early iPhone launches, many Apple retail stores across the world are still seeing absolutely massive lines as eager customers are queuing up in the hopes that they can get their hands on Apple’s next-gen iPhone X. As a quick example, I strolled by two Apple stores in Chicago today and both still had throngs of people lined up down the block well into the afternoon.

Now if you’re not already in line but are perhaps interested in making a trek out to a nearby Apple store, you might want to consult Apple’s iPhone X webpage first. Originally spotted by MacRumors, Apple earlier today added a “check availability” option which lets interested buyers see if their desired model is currently available for purchase. With iPhone X supply said to be extremely small this year, the aforementioned tool could very well save you from making a trip for nothing.

For Samsung, copying the iPhone was a massive gamble – and it paid off

Apple vs. Samsung

Samsung just scored a massive win against Apple in a patent war that seems like it will last forever. It obtained a retrial in one of the cases where Apple scored a significant victory back in 2012. Apple was awarded more than $ 1 billion in damages, in a verdict that practically confirmed what many people, yours truly included, said for years: Samsung copied the iPhone.

But then, Samsung was able to lower the damages down to $ 400 million. And now the judge overseeing the case just said the case has to be tried again.

That’s just brilliant, and it shows that copying the iPhone was the best thing Samsung ever did.

Ahead of iPhone X release, Apple gets hit with a lawsuit over the ‘Animoji’ name

iPhone X Features

Ahead of the upcoming iPhone X release, Apple has been hit with a lawsuit regarding one of the device’s more intriguing new features. According to a report from The Recorder, Enrique Bonansea is suing Apple for infringing upon his Animoji trademark. Animoji, if you recall, is the name Apple gave to the iPhone X’s animated emoji feature wherein the device’s TrueDepth camera system tracks a user’s facial expressions and applies them to an emoji in real-time.

The suit was filed earlier this week by Enrique Bonansea who claims to have registered the Animoji trademark with the USPTO in 2015. What’s more, Bonansea has had a messaging app in the App Store with the Animoji branding going all the way back to 2014. According to the suit, Apple’s decision to go ahead and use the Animoji name in spite of all this is a “textbook case of willful, deliberate trademark infringement.”

The wait is finally over, Apple fans — the company’s new 2017 iPhone lineup has been revealed! After months of leaks and rumors, Apple on Tuesday finally took the wraps off of not one, not two, but three brand new iPhones.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus fill the slots in Apple’s smartphone portfolio that had been occupied by the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. They’re faster, sleeker, and more powerful than last year’s iPhones, and they also feature an updated design with wireless charging and glass backs. Then there’s the hot new iPhone X, which is easily the most exciting iPhone Apple has ever created. Just like the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, the new iPhone X also features a new design with glass on the entire front and back of the phone.

All of Apple’s new iPhones are beautiful, of that there is no doubt, but the new glass designs mean they’re also fragile and in desperate need of the kind of protection only high-quality cases can provide. New iPhone excitement won’t stop some people from buying flip phones

Jim Thatcher, an assistant professor of urban studies at the University of Washington, Tacoma, didn’t replace his smartphone when it broke. Instead, and only because his spouse and daughter’s school needed to be able to reach him in an emergency, he switched to a flip phone. The switch has been therapeutic for Thatcher. He responds…

The iPhone X’s notch is bad news for wireless carriers

iPhone X Features

The iPhone was the first smartphone in the world to launch without any interference from carriers. In exchange for exclusivity, AT&T agreed to let Apple handle everything about the phone, including the software and marketing. That’s why the iPhone comes without any bloatware, not including Apple’s, and has no carrier branding on it, like other phones. The only place the carrier is allowed to display its name is in the top right corner of the iPhone. But that’s almost going away with the iPhone X.

Video shows how Face ID on the iPhone X is going to work

iPhone 8 Facial Recognition

It’s almost amusing, really. With Tim Cook promising to double down on product secrecy, the biggest iPhone leaks we’ve seen in recent months haven’t come from anonymous sources within the supply chain, but from Apple itself. Over the weekend, someone decided to leak the iOS 11 GM and developers have since spent hours poring over all sorts of new iOS 11 features that Apple was hoping to surprise us with on Tuesday. Most recently, Guilherme Rambo unearthed assets which provide us with an interesting look at the Face ID setup process on the iPhone 8. Recall, the iPhone X is doing away with the home button — and with it, Touch ID — in favor of an advanced facial recognition system dubbed Face ID.

Apple Is About to Change the Way You Use the Next iPhone

The upcoming Apple iPhone 8 is well on its way for a rumored September 12 unveiling, and it is expected to be missing one key feature: The home button.

From the many leaks and rumors that have come up in the past months, Apple has revamped the new iPhone with an all-glass bezel-free design. But what does this mean for future users that have come so acquainted with the home screen button? According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman:

“Across the bottom of the screen there’s a thin, software bar in lieu of the home button. A user can drag it up to the middle of the screen to open the phone. When inside an app, a similar gesture starts multitasking. From here, users can continue to flick upwards to close the app and go back to the home screen. An animation in testing sucks the app back into its icon.”

The home button hasn’t changed much since the iPhone launched back in 2007, so both current and new users may need some time getting used to it. Get a clear look on how Apple will change the way we use iPhones from the video above and the photo below.

McDonald’s is convinced this is what the iPhone 8 will look like

iPhone 8 Leaks

It’s not often we see a massive food chain get involved in the iPhone leak game, but McDonald’s Australia just stepped up to the plate by providing us with a look at the McDonald’s mobile app running on an iPhone 8. The simplest explanation is that McD doesn’t know what it’s doing, or it wants to piggyback on the iPhone 8’s huge popularity and score some free advertising.

New iPhone 7s photos suggest wireless charging feature is on the way

And while we already have a good grasp on what the iPhone 8 will bring to the table, it remains to be seen how many of the iPhone 8’s premiere features will find their way into Apple’s iPhone 7s models. Apple wants to make it impossible for anyone to snoop on your iPhone screen

iPhone Screen Privacy

It’s completely your prerogative to sext with a special someone while you’re sitting between two strangers on a plane. After all, it’s your phone, and you can do whatever you want on it. But that doesn’t mean others can’t look at that screen, especially considering that iPhones have pretty big displays, and they’re only getting bigger. But Apple is working on new technology that will make it nearly impossible for those around you to snoop on what you’re doing, whether it’s sharing certain pics via texts or working on an important presentation.
