Who’s Curtis Pritchard? Love Island 2019 contestant’s showbiz career, famous sibling and celebrity ex-girlfriend revealed

LOVE Island 2019 contestant Curtis Pritchard may look familiar — that’s because he’s the younger brother of Strictly Come Dancing pro AJ.

But while his sibling is the Pritchard who’s been hogging the limelight so far, this summer, 23-year-old ballroom and Latin dancer Curtis will finally have his turn. and he’s vowed to not have sex. Here’s the lowdown…

Curtis Pritchard has been confirmed for Love Island 2019

Is Love Islander Curtis Pritchard already famous?

Actually, yes, he’s pretty well known in Ireland.

Just like his big bro AJ, Curtis is a professional dancer and choreographer.

Although he’s not on Strictly Come Dancing here in the UK, he is on the Irish equivalent Dancing With The Stars — which is how he met ex-girlfriend Emily Barker.

Thanks to his time on Dancing With The Stars, Curtis has already had a taste of fame and amassed quite the following –  as many as 44.1k Instagram followers before even setting foot in the villa.

What has Curtis Pritchard said about having sex in the villa?

Curtis has said that sex in the villa is a big no no.

The dancer has vowed to abstain during his Love Island experience as he think it should be a ‘private matter.’

Speaking in Majorca ahead of his time in the villa, he said: “Joining Strictly is an opportunity that I would never turn down but who knows.

“I won’t be having sex on TV – that’s a private matter, if somebody does that, that’s what they want to do but it’s not what I would like to do.

“I feel it’s a very private matter and should be done behind closed doors, not for the world to see. It should be between you and your loved one.

“Kisses are fine. Everything further than that, it should be a private matter.”

Curtis broke up with ex-girlfriend Emily Barker earlier in 2019

Why did Curtis Pritchard and Emily Barker break up?

Sadly, the pair broke up in 2019 after two years together.

Opening up about the relationship, Curtis said: “We danced with each other from when we were twelve until we were fourteen, we were the champions.

“When we got older, we both ended up doing Dancing With The Stars in Ireland and got into a relationship.

“You spend a lot of time with each other when you’re dancing together.

“You’re always in a close proximity so it would be weird not to get feelings even if it’s just to be a best friend or if it’s to fall in love.”

Neither Curtis or Emily have revealed exactly why they parted ways, however, she has spoken out to admit she loves being single.

What did Curtis Pritchard say about Love Island before entering the villa?

Quite awkwardly just a matter of four months before entering the villa, Curtis slammed Love Island and said he would never go on it.

Back in January, he told a student newspaper that though he was keen to do more television work, Love Island was far from his agenda.

Speaking to the publication, Curtis revealed: “I would like to do the Hunted show that AJ did, I think that’d be awesome.

“I’d like to do Bear Grylls Island as well, maybe also I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here later in my career.”

Hammering home his love for adventure programmes, he continued: “I’d like to see if I could do the challenges.

“Love Island, probably not.”

Curtis is the younger bro of Strictly pro AJ Pritchard

What is Curtis Pritchard’s type on paper?

Although Curtis says he prefers blondes, his celebrity crushes are all brunette – Megan Fox, Ariana Grande and Mila Kunis.

However, the professional dancer has admitted that love is blind.

“I’m sure everyone has their idea of the perfect girl but I don’t,” he explained.

“This sounds really clichéd but love is blind and I truly do believe that.

“I like blondes and an athletic body, not too fake and somebody that respects themselves.

“But if the complete opposite comes in and I fall madly in love with them then I’ve completely lied to you.”

When does Love Island 2019 start?

Get ready to say goodbye to your summer as Love Island FINALLY lands on your TV screens.

Series five will kick off on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 9pm.

You’ll be able to get your fix of the show every night on ITV2 where the main show will give us the lowdown on all the goings-on in the villa – from couples cracking on to singletons getting mugged off.

Saturday night’s show differs from the rest of the week, as it is a round-up of all the best bits from the villa that week – and maybe some unseen footage!

If that’s not enough, you can also watch Caroline Flack’s spin off show Aftersun on Sunday nights at 10pm after the main show has aired where she discusses the latest action with a celebrity guest as well as those eliminated from the villa.

Are there any changes for Love Island 2019?

Love Island bosses are plotting some major shake-ups for the 2019 show.

They are reportedly scrapping rival villa Casa Amor, which sparked explosive scenes for two years on the show.

Instead, this year ITV2 bosses want to keep new islanders on their toes and they also want viewers to expect the unexpected, which involves creating all-new challenges for contestants.

The Love Island cast are also set to see their pay increase.According to reports to “compensate” for giving up time to be on the show, ITV bosses have agreed to pay the islanders £250 a week.

That’s £50 a week more than 2018, who accepted £200 a week to cover their bills, rent and utilities while appearing on the show.

Like 2018, the show is likely to last eight weeks meaning the grand final could be around July 29, 2019.

Who will be this year’s winning couple? Stay tuned!

Love Island star Anton Danyluk starred in Towie-style reality show about his rocky love life

LOVE Island’s Anton Danyluk hopes to find love on the new ITV2 series, but he has already appeared in a TOWIE-style reality show.

The 24-year-old made his on-screen debut on GLOW, which is a reality TV series based in Glasgow that has been likened to Made in Chelsea, The Only Way Is Essex and Geordie Shore.

Love Island’s Anton has previously appeared in another reality TV show

The gym owner was in a relationship with ex-girlfriend Denise Wilkie when he filmed the programme two years ago, but admitted they had their fair share of ups and downs.

Speaking in the first episode of the second series to pal Paddy about his love life, Anton admitted he was close to breaking up with Denise a number of times in 2017 because his hectic work life started to take a toll on her.

He said: “A few things have happened with Denise. We’ve had a few fall outs. We’ve been close to splitting up a few times if I’m honest Paddy.

“But, we’ve managed to get through it and we’re working on it. hopefully we can sort it out.”

He added: “You know my job working seven days a week, it can’t be easy for her and setting up my own business as well. It took its toll on our relationship. We will sort it I think.”

However, Anton is now single and looking to find a girlfriend in Casa Amor, although he has “never really been loyal” to his previous girlfriends.

Speaking ahead of his appearance on Love Island, he said: “That’s a medical condition that I have … a wandering eye!

“I’ve never really been loyal in any of my relationships.”

Anton has admitted he has never been loyal in a relationship

Anton has insisted he is a lothario and has been caught cheating on his partners.

He continued: “My last relationship, I actually got caught cheating for the first time in my life and it changed everything for me. I saw how much it hurt her and what it did to her.

“So, for me going into Love Island, it’s going to be the biggest test of my life.”

He continued: “I know that if I am loyal to someone in that space of time when hot girls are being thrown in all the time then I know I can be loyal to them.”

The new season of Love Island will return to our screens on June 3, two years after Anton appeared on Glow.

Anton will be joined by Tyson Fury, as well as AJ Pritchard’s brother Curtis.

Love Island has changed its aftercare procedures for series 5

Here’s everything you need to know…

Love Island 2019 is on its way, confirmed to be returning to our screens next month on 3 June.

But while most people are talking about the ITV2 show for its rumoured contestants and neon pink water bottles, today the show made news for its new duty of care process.

The past year has seen two ex-islanders, Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis, as well as Sophie’s boyfriend Aaron Armstrong, take their own lives, prompting calls for the show to be axed following reports that their mental health was affected from appearing on the show.

In response to claims that there hasn’t been enough after-care for the show’s contestants who suddenly find themselves catapulted to fame, ITV has today announced their new duty of care processes ahead of season 5.

‘The production team have continued to evolve their processes with each series, as the show’s popularity has risen and the social and media attention on Islanders has increased,’ the statement read. ‘The key changes this year are – enhanced psychological support, more detailed conversations with potential Islanders regarding the impact of participation on the show, bespoke training for all Islanders on social media and financial management and a proactive aftercare package which extends our support to all Islanders following their participation.’

‘Our welfare processes follow three key stages: pre-filming, filming and aftercare,’ Creative Director of ITV Studios Entertainment, Richard Cowles, said of the new strategy. ‘And we are increasing our post filming support to help Islanders following their time in villa.’

The duty of care process for series 5 includes:

Pre Filming and Filming

  • Psychological consultant engaged throughout the whole series – from pre-filming to aftercare.
  • Thorough pre-filming psychological and medical assessments including assessments by an independent doctor, psychological consultant and discussion with each Islander’s own GP to check medical history.
  • Potential Islanders are required to fully disclose any relevant medical history that would be relevant to their inclusion in the villa and the production’s ability to provide a suitable environment for them.
  • Managing cast expectations: detailed explanations both verbally and in writing of the implications, both positive and negative, of taking part in the series are given to potential cast members throughout the casting process and reinforced within the contract so it is clear.
  • Cast are told they should consider all the potential implications of taking part in the show and work through this decision-making process in consultation with their family and those closest to them, to ensure they feel it is right for them.
  • Senior Team on the ground have received training in Mental Health First Aid.
  • A welfare team solely dedicated to the Islanders both during the show and after.

  • Bespoke training on dealing with social media and advice on finance and adjusting to life back home.
  • A minimum of eight therapy sessions will be provided to each Islander when they return home.
  • Proactive contact with islanders for a period of 14 months up until the end of the next series.
  • This means contact with the Islander will last for 14 months after the series in which they have appeared has ended, with additional help provided where applicable.
  • We encourage Islanders to secure management to represent them after the show and manage them should they choose to take part in other TV shows, advertising campaigns or other public appearance opportunities.

Love Island returns to ITV2 on 3 June 2019.

Kaci Makes a Huge Realization About Evan on ‘Temptation Island’

Not single, but ready to mingle? After having watched the videos of their significant others on their first dates and realizing how real the temptation has become, the couples were ready to see what else might be out there on the Tuesday, January 29, episode of Temptation Island. But will knowing what their partners said behind their backs drive them to risk it all?

The Second Dates

Now that the time for the second dates of the season arrived, they did it a little differently. The couples each chose which single they wanted to get to know better separately from their partners, which meant that they had no idea who their boyfriend or girlfriend would be seeing in the week to come.

The women went horseback riding while the men went zip-lining, and since the ice had been broken with that first date last week, everyone had loosened up a lot. Some of them were even talking about what their futures might look like if they were with other people.

Kaci was pretty shaken by hearing Evan talk about being open to meeting someone on the island, and she opened up about it on her date with Justin, even admitting to him that Evan had cheated on her in the past.

“My date with Justin actually taught me a lot, and it just really opened my eyes that if Evan does blindside me at the end of this that I really need to move on and cut that out of my life,” Kaci said. “It’s not what I deserve.”

A Talent Show and a Mystery

When in paradise … show off your skills? After the women got back from their dates, they decided they wanted to put on their pajamas and have a talent show. It led to a sweet moment between

Nicole and Jack after she was moved by a poem that he wrote to the women; it made her realize that things might not be as good in her relationship with Karl as she thought.

“I’m realizing that Karl and I haven’t opened up as deeply as I thought in our relationship, and being able to open up and be vulnerable with somebody I just met — it’s a whole new perspective to me on our relationship and what I really need to be striving for,” she said.

At the men’s quarters, Javen was hard at work solving a mystery. After he came home to find multiple kiss marks on his mirror, he went around collecting lipstick samples from all of the women, determined to find out who was behind it.

“When I find out who did this, I will prosecute them to the fullest extent of my law,” Javen joked.

Meanwhile, Evan and Morgan sat down to discuss their date they had. Although it started out as Evan trying to make amends for their earlier drama, they actually realized they had a pretty strong connection after spending more time together.

“I did not think this was gonna happen like this,” Evan said in his confessional. “I’d be lying if I said I’m not going to explore whatever she’s got.”

Roll the Tapes

Being that both halves of the couples had gotten closer to the singles in their houses this week, it’s no surprise that the clips that were shown hit a little harder. Javen got to see Shari’s tears over the clips she saw of his first date, and Evan was thrown for a loop when he saw Kaci open up to Justin about her doubts in their relationship.

“I’m not a cheater anymore, man, and that hurts,” Evan said.

Temptation Island airs on USA Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.

Cuba libre: exploring the island by campervan

It’s never been easy for visitors to explore this fascinating country independently. But for the first time, state-approved vans give licence to roam Cuba’s mountains, beaches and towns

Our campervan passes through Manicaragua, a tobacco-growing (once sugar-growing) town in the centre of Cuba. Manicaragua’s leaves are used for the dense core of Habanos cigars; premium leaves from Pinar del Río form the outer layer.

This is a true backwater but in the 1940s and 1950s, before the bottom dropped out of sugar, it had money: there are cinemas and rundown hospitals. We pass by the pitched tin roofs of tobacco-drying houses, and see workers in high straw campesino hats hoeing the red earth.
