Decluttr & Joel Terry Turn The Coachella Line-Up Into A Menu Of Flavors

2017 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 2 - Day 3

Source: Christopher Polk / Getty

Decluttr, a website and mobile application for selling your unwanted items, has teamed up with Joel Terry, a synaesthete, to break down what each artist performing of Coachella tastes like.
Joel has “lexical-gustatory synesthesia – a rare form of synesthesia where you can taste spoken or written word.” With his ability, he has determined what artists such as The Weeknd, SZA, Migos, Miguel, and more would taste like if their music turned into food or other edible items.

The Weeknd’s song “The Hills” was awarded the flavor of a chocolate chip cookie while Migos “Black & Boujeee” tasted like chocolate cake and a cheese puff with peanut butter on it. Beyonce’s “Drunk In Love” would supposedly translate into rusted iron and a large fragment of a burst rubber balloon.

This is an interesting talent and the combination of flavors is endless. For the full menu of flavors, check more about their redesigned line-up here.  See the lineups below and see how they line up with the actual Coachella lineup posters.

Coachella tickets are available now.

EXCLUSIVE: Did Joel Kinnaman Drop a Hint That El Diablo is in ‘Suicide Squad 2’?

Squad goals! Joel Kinnaman revealed he stays in regular contact with his Suicide Squad costars, and can’t wait to be reunited with them for the sequel. However, the script has to be just right.

“We’re a little family,” the actor told FANDOM exclusively at the premiere of his new Netflix series Altered Carbon. “We’re all still friends. We hang out. We text each other almost every week. I can’t wait to see everyone again.”

Kinnaman, who plays Colonel Rick Flag, proceed to name drop Will Smith (Deadshot), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Jay Hernandez (El Diablo), Margo Robbie (Harley Quinn) and Ike Barinholtz (Griggs).

Interestingly, Hernandez’s character, El Diablo, seemingly died in the first film, and the rest of the cast has only been rumored for the 2019 DC Comic flick.

“In the first film we might’ve gone to production a little bit too soon,” Kinnaman said on the Altered Carbon red carpet. “They could’ve used a little bit more work on the script.”

“Sometimes these big movies start with a release date and then they got to figure the script on the way. And I think Warner Bros. is dead set on not doing that this time,” he added.

Kinnaman, who appeared surprisingly slim in person, shouldn’t have any trouble getting back into superhero shape.

For Altered Carbon, the star took on an intense regimen for the action — and nude — scenes. Kinnaman plays Takeshi Kovacs, a Japanese-Slavic marine-turned-mercenary whose consciousness is transferred into a new body.

“Well I did a lot of training,” Kinnaman told FANDOM. “I trained about six months before we started filming. 3-5 hours a day. A lot of physical training, stunt training. But you also gotta eat right.”

Season 1 of Altered Carbon premieres Friday on Netflix, while Suicide Squad 2 will drop in 2019.

Is it Fair To Say ‘Altered Carbon’ is Guilty of Whitewashing?

Joel Taylor of Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers Dead at Age 38

The storm chasing community is reeling from the news of Joel Taylor’s sudden death. He was 38.

The Elk City, Oklahoma, native, who starred on Discovery Channel’s documentary reality television series Storm Chasers, died on Tuesday, according to his friends who shared the sad news on social media.

The cause of Joel’s death remains unclear at this time. It is not believed to be storm chasing-related.

Reps for the Discovery Channel did not immediately respond to a request for comment from PEOPLE.

Best friend and former costar Reed Timmer dedicated a touching message to Taylor on Twitter.

“RIP my best friend and storm chasing partner, Joel Taylor. I am shocked and absolutely devastated by the loss of my incredible, caring friend,” Timmer tweeted along with photos of them when they were chasing storms together since 2008.

“We chased so many intense storms, and I wish we could have just one more storm chase. I’ll miss you forever, Joel. We lost a legend,” added Timmer, who attended the University of Oklahoma with Taylor, who studied meteorology.

Another friend, Mike Olbinski, remembered Taylor’s bright smile.

“I was lucky enough to meet Joel a few years ago at Reed’s wedding. He was so kind to me and we got to hang out for a bit during those few days,” Olbinski tweeted with a photo from the wedding. “I snapped this photo of him and that just seemed like who he was. A huge smile. RIP Joel Taylor…you will be so missed.”

Taylor’s storm chasing team also expressed their condolences.

“Our community of Elk City and the Storm Chasing community lost a great guy today. Joel Taylor was truly an inspiration to myself and many who knew him. He was one of the most level headed chasers on the roads and truly a classy guy outside of chasing,” Team Western OK Chaser shared on Facebook.

“He didn’t chase for the glory he chased because he had a true passion for storms. In the last few years he’d load up with his dad and go chase and not even take a camera,” the group said. “Our hearts are hurting for his mom Tracy and dad Jimmy along with his brother and sister and their children. Please know you are in our prayers. RIP Joel.”

Storm Chasers was filmed each year in the area known as Tornado Alley due to the frequency and severity of tornadoes occurring there in the central part of the country. Several teams of storm chasers appeared in the series and Taylor joined the cast in early 2008 as part of the team from the website TornadoVideos.Net (TVN) that was led by Timmer.

The show was canceled after five seasons in January 2012.

Netflix Confirms ‘Bright’ Sequel With Will Smith and Joel Edgerton Returning

Netflix Confirms 'Bright' Sequel With Will Smith and Joel Edgerton Returning

Netflix took a big gamble with Bright, an original action fantasy film that cost them $ 90 million, their largest purchase ever. And it paid off, because the company has now confirmed that the title is their biggest yet.

Since debuting on the service on December 22, Bright has become the number one Netflix Original in all 190 countries where it's available, with it being even more popular internationally than in the US. In its first week alone, the movie took the crown as the…

‘Bright’ Sequel Is Confirmed with Will Smith and Joel Edgerton

The Will Smith and Joel Edgerton duo will return in a sequel to Bright, Netflix has confirmed today. David Ayer will again be directing, and with two returning producers, much of the core team remains unchanged — with one exception.

Screenwriter Max Landis has been left out of the team, and David Ayer will be writing the script. Ayer recently wrote Suicide Squad, which had its own plethora of problems. But he also wrote Training Day, which is quite in line with what Bright aims to be in tone.

The urban fantasy slash buddy cop film attempted to use an LA setting full of orcs and magic to explore racism and stereotyping. But much of it was very on the nose, due in no small part to the writing.

We had previously heard that Netflix already wanted a Bright sequel, and I didn’t exactly doubt it — but it did come at a weird time. We had just seen a surge in confidence after Disney pulled a similar stunt.

Rian Johnson had been given a whole trilogy of Star Wars films, the news of which broke right before The Last Jedi opened in cinemas, leading everyone to believe the latest Star Wars movie was going to be so amazing it was the future of the franchise. The thought that Bright was getting in on that sweet, speculative confidence — while perhaps not 100% sure about the sequel — had crossed my mind.

But that’s all academic now, because despite review scores, Bright went on to be successful. It was the highest viewed Netflix film within the first week of its release and is the #1 movie on the streaming service globally. 11 million US viewers watched the movie within the first three days, not including those watching on computers or mobile devices.

With the amount of promotion pumped into it, it would want to be that successful. Better writing will be a key factor in whether or not the sequel can be known for quality as well as decent numbers.
