Jordyn ‘Likes’ Comment Saying She Came ‘Back Looking Like a Whole Meal’

Back and better than ever? Jordyn Woods indulged in compliments from her fans as she seemingly tried to put her drama with Tristan Thompson and Khloé Kardashian in the past.

The 21-year-old model “liked” a Wednesday, March 20, Twitter post from one of her loyal followers. “Okay Jordyn comes back looking like a whole meal,” the user captioned a photo of Woods, adding a heart-eye emoji.

Kylie Jenner’s best friend made headlines in February when she was caught cheating with Thompson, 28, at a party. Woods told her side of the story during an interview on Red Table Talk, which was released on March 1. “[There was] no passion, no nothing. He just kissed me. … It was a kiss on the lips,” she claimed. “No tongue. … No making out.”

She went on to deny sleeping with the athlete. “Never a thought, never a consideration, never happened, and never will I,” she said. “And that’s why I’m willing to be put up to the test. Attach me to a lie detector, whatever it is. I need people to know the truth, and more importantly, I need people involved to know the truth.”

Kardashian, 34, slammed Woods on Twitter after the interview’s release. “Why are you lying @jordynwoods ?? If you’re going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story,” the reality star wrote. “BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!”

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star later backtracked, tweeting that “Jordyn is not to be blamed” and her breakup was “Tristan’s fault.”

Woods returned to social media on March 8 when she posted a series of selfies. She captioned the Instagram photos: “If you’re reading this.. it means God has given you another day to wake up and be grateful & better than you were yesterday.”

Butterflies know exactly what they’re looking for in a partner: Themselves

law of attraction

Love is a strange thing. Everyone can come up with at least a brief list of things they find attractive in a mate, but sometimes we find ourselves drawn to people for totally explainable reasons. But the same isn’t necessarily true for other members of the animal kingdom, and butterflies, for example, seem to have streamlined things quite a bit.

Authors of a new research paper published in PLOS took a close look at Colombian butterflies in order to get a better idea of how they choose who to reproduce with. What they found was that when it comes to the search for a mate, butterflies are really just looking for themselves.

CFDA Introduces Sustainability Initiatives to Help Guide Designers Looking for Cleaner Ways to Work

With “where to begin” being a common conundrum for many brands considering sustainability, the CFDA has launched its Sustainability Initiatives to help designers do their part to clean up the fashion industry.
In line with the United Nations’ call for the fashion industry to act on its global mandate on sustainability, the CFDA has rolled out a four-part strategy. Many designers’ questions may be answered by referencing the first edition of the CFDA Guide to Sustainable Strategies, the Sustainable Strategies Toolkit, the CFDA Materials Index or the CFDA Sustainability Directory.
While Eileen Fisher, Stella McCartney and other designers have been committed to trying to clean up the industry’s excessive waste for a while, many less established brands are examining sustainability for the first time. The United Nations Alliance on Sustainable Fashion will stage its launch event March 14, during a media event of the 4th U.N. Environment Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya. Just as consumers have learned about the environmental farm-to-table choices, sustainability supporters are hopeful that greater awareness about the need for sustainable fashion will lead to changing the consumption and production habits.
Konstantin Grcic recently joined forces with the Aeance to create a sustainable capsule collection. Stella McCartney has been leading the

holiday photography

You don’t need reminding that January is pretty bleak. As we count down the days until payday and try not to think about the cold, we’re also Googling getaways because we need something to look forward to this year – right?

But where should you head off to? Should you opt for a staycation or head to Europe? Go to your favourite place or try somewhere new? Or maybe you want to go that bit further and really chase the sun?

On The Go Tours analysed data from the United Nations World Tourism Organisation 2018 Tourism Highlights Report to find out which countries are growing in popularity as tourist hotspots – and give you some hol-spiration.

So where are we all heading as soon as the need for sun hits?

Romania is the fastest growing destination for UK tourists, with an increase of 638% between 2007 and 2017. Lithuania comes in second with around 115,000 visitors in 2017, followed by Mexico with holidays there racking up around 49 million hashtags on Instagram. If you’re going for the perfect feed, you know where to go.

Other tourist hotspots include Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Morocco.

The original favourites, France and Spain, don’t make the list for fastest growing destinations – but they are still pulling in the crowds with over six million and ten million British tourists visiting respectively.

On The Go Tours Head of Marketing, Hollie Youlden comments: ‘It’s interesting to see the variety of destinations that have made it into the top 20 with our internal consumer data seeing similar trends for UK tourists, with peaks in destinations like Morocco, Greece, and Italy.

‘Europe definitely takes the crown with 70% of the fastest growing destinations being European countries, which given the wonderful variety of locations we have in Europe, and the relatively short travel distances from the UK, may not come as a huge surprise.

‘Having said that, it’s great to see the likes of longer haul destinations in North America, Middle East, Asia and Africa with a large increase in UK tourists, showing people are willing to travel the extra mile for fantastic views, culture and cuisine.’

Military Spouse Looking for a Job? Walmart Announces Preferred Hiring

Military spouses: Walmart would like to thank you for your service with a job.

The retail giant has announced it will give hiring preference to military spouses, who face the added burden of frequent relocation due to military transfers and deployments.

While the rest of the nation enjoyed an unemployment rate well under 5% in 2017, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce estimates military spouses and spouses of recent veterans faced a 16% unemployment rate for the same year.

Walmart previously offered military spouses and veterans the ability to transfer from one of its Walmart or Sam’s Club locations to another, but the company will now give hiring preference to any military spouse with a current Uniformed Services Identification Card.

This initiative comes five years after the company launched its Veterans Welcome Home program, which pledged to hire 250,000 military veterans by 2020.

Best Looking Affordable Outerwear – Fall/Winter 2018

One of the best things about fall and winter is that you get to wear your favorite coat almost every day. A good coat is like a good suit. Put it on and you feel almost invincible. The following options should help most of us get that feeling for a relatively affordable price (some are more affordable than others). Sizes are noted below in any in-person shots. Head here to get an idea as to the height/weight of the fella (hi) in those shots.

Spier & Mackay Topcoat in Camel, Charcoal, or Navy – $ 398

Spier & Mackay Topcoat

Redesigned this year, and they’ve made some nice improvements. Pockets have moved to the side for the much, much more functional hand-warmer style variety. Sizing is made to fit over a suit, but still be fitted and not box like. 85% wool and 15% cashmere. 3/2 roll button front, with functioning top button. 3.5″ lapel. Doesn’t get more classic than this.

C. Tyrwhitt Wool/Cashmere DB Topcoats in Charcoal or Navy – $ 499

C. Tyrwhitt Wool/Cashmere DB Topcoat

Charles Tyrwhitt isn’t just for shirts. Their outerwear is really quite nice. Shown above is their 6 button front wool / cashmere Epsom topcoats. Looks like they’ve taken down the gray option in favor of a 4 button front, but the navy is still there. Regardless, Italian wool/cashmere fabric is super nice. Warm but not stiff. Will be tough to get on sale, but they do run 20% off codes every so often. Size shown above left is a 42R.

Lands’ End Primaloft Quilted Jacket – $ 89.40 w/ CORN & 3026 ($ 149)

Lands' End Primaloft Quilted Jacket

One of the better, casual jacket deals out there. An annual, really quite affordable favorite. Classic, Barbour-like sporting looks without the heritage brand price tag. Corduroy collar, brass-tone snaps, raglan sleeves, and a vent in the rear for ease of movement. Could drop even further this upcoming weekend?

Target Goodfellow & Co Wool Blend Topcoat – $ 79.99

One of the best of the bunch from this season. No, the 64% wool, 31% poly, 5% “other” fabric isn’t the most luxurious stuff. But I’ve certainly felt worse at a much higher price. It’s not bad. Not bad at all. All polyester lining. Made in Vietnam. Does go on sale too. Size shown above is a large. Warmer feeling than the UNIQLO wool/cashmere topcoat, but not super insulated. You’ll still need to layer up in bitter, bitter cold. Shown at the top of this post. Also available in a charcoal plaid, but the wool blend is a bit different on that plaid coat, so it might feel and drape a little differently.

Flint & Tinder Flannel-Lined Wax Trucker Jacket – $ 220

Flint & Tinder Flannel-Lined Wax Trucker Jacket

Made in the USA out of some seriously well considered materials. And don’t be worried about it being an early fall jacket. This thing is WARM thanks to the blanket stripe flannel lining. Full review here.

J. Crew Dock Peacoat w/ Thinsulate – $ 223.50 w/ BUNDLEUP ($ 298)

J. Crew Dock Peacoat w/ Thinsulate

Yes, you could easily get the real deal at your local Army / Navy surplus for less, but J. Crew gets a LOT right about their Dock Peacoat. A touch longer than most peacoats (good for protecting your blazer or suit jacket tail), plus those chest high hand warmer pockets are extremely convenient. More of a straight fit. Some super slim guys might find them to be a bit boxy. Goes on sale plenty.

UNIQLO 90% Wool / 10% Cashmere “Chesterfield” – $ 149.90

UNIQLO Chesterfield Topcoat

An ultra light. Very soft fabric, but also extremely light in weight. Not gonna be that warm. So be prepared to layer. Or? The perfect lightweight but still super handsome topcoat for those that live in warmer climates. Note that the shot on the left is last year’s model. They relocated the pockets this year (just like Spier & Mackay) to make them more functional, side-slash, hand warmer style. You might want to consider sizing down this year (or, ordering two sizes and sending one back). UNIQLO has really made their fits more generous for the American market.

Filson USA Made Cover Cloth Mile Marker – $ 199.99$ 350

Filson Made in the USA Cover Cloth Mile Marker

Leans heavily casual, but this is one rugged lifer of a coat. Made from their cover-cloth/waxed/oiled cotton material. Nice and substantial. Incredible construction and attention to detail. Super heavy duty hardware. Moleskin collar that stands up just fine against the wind. Interior draw string can be cinched to keep the wind out/create a little more shape. The one drawback? It collects lint and fuzz and pet hair like crazy.

Michael Kors Wool Blend Peacoat – $ 99.90 ($ 350)

Michael Kors Wool Blend Peacoat

A classic of the shorter, mid-butt variety. Cuts it too close if you like to wear sportcoats and blazers, BUT, if you’re looking for a peacoat that’s NOT a mid thigh length? These are always kicking about at Nordstrom (or here at Nordstrom rack, for a hell of a lot less). 62% wool, 28% polyester, 10% other fibers.

B.R. Kevin Love DB Topcoat – $ 398 | Single Breasted Topcoat – $ 378

Banana Republic Topcoats

I don’t usually go for the celebrity collaborative stuff, but the Kevin Love collection at Banana Republic this year really is something else. The one issue? This collection is almost always excluded from sales. Both are made from Italian 80% wool / 20% nylon material.

J. Crew Destination Topcoat in Water Resistant Italian Wool – $ 332.50 when 30% off ($ 475)

J. Crew Destination Topcoat

Not gonna lie. This is a love it or hate it (yet I find myself, personally, somewhere dead inbetween?) This thing is a true knee length, while the rest of the topcoat world has been going just above the knee / mid thigh. And there’s NO vent in the rear. So it’s really… tubular? But what it DOES have going for it, is the middle to lighter weight but still warm and very nice feeling fabric. If you run hot? This is a great coat. J. Crew’s “destination” line is supposed to be a merging of classic materials and technology. So, think breathable, lighter-weight, etc. They say it’s tweed, but it’s soft. Not super rough. Hardly. Raglan style shoulders. Covered placket. I have a weird feeling that this is gonna end up in the sale section and on mega discount come spring. Often excluded. But it has gone on sale in the past. Size shown above is a 42R.

JCP Stafford Signature Wool Blend Topcoat – $ 100ish

JCP Stafford Wool Blend Topcoat

JC Penney hasn’t changed these much, if at all, over the last few years. The shoulders have a little bit of structure but aren’t too boxy, and the slash pockets at the waist are well placed. Wool/Poly blend. Just about knee length. They have tended to run a bit larger than other topcoats. Always on sale.

Suitsupply Wool Bomber Jacket in Grey or Camel – $ 399

Suitsupply Wool Bomber

A huge splurge, but man are they something. A warning. THESE RUN SMALL. Like real small. I could barely get into a large. And at 5’10” / 195-200, I usually wear a medium or a large.

UNIQLO BlockTech Cotton Mac – $ 89.90 ($ 129.90)

UNIQLO BlockTech Cotton Mac

Meanwhile, THESE RUN LARGE. Real large. The size above? That’s a Medium. And it’s very boxy, especially with your hands out of the pockets. Nice coat though. All cotton exterior that looks a little like wool, and the interior is engineered to keep water out while allowing your body heat (and moisture) to still evaporate. Sizes are all over the place this year depending on brand. I’m an XL in Suitsupply, but a Small in UNIQLO? Beats me fellas.

Flint & Tinder Made in the USA Moleskin Shirt Jacket – $ 188

Flint & Tinder Made in the USA Moleskin Shirt Jacket

Not cheap, but you’re getting F&T’s USA Made quality, super soft moleskin, and a well designed shirt jacket. A nice in-between layer, or, something extra to throw under an overcoat or parka. Huge fan of the vertical hand warmer pockets.

Spier & Mackay Double Breasted Wool/Cashmere Overcoats in Green or Camel – $ 498

Spier & Mackay Double Breasted Wool/Cashmere Overcoat

Those are some statement coats right there. 85% wool / 15% cashmere. 5″ wide peak lapels (measurement taken on a size 40). Button vent in the rear.

Banana Republic Italian Melton Wool-Blend Car Coat – $ 226.80 when 40% off ($ 378)

Banana Republic Italian Melton Wool-Blend Car Coat

One of the best, again, this year. I don’t think they’ve changed this coat much since last year? Terrific fabric, despite the mix being a pretty standard 80% wool / 20% the rest. Soft and smooth. A good depth to it for warmth, but still flexible. Big fan of the slanted hand pockets. Size shown above is a large on 195-200lbs. 80% wool / 17% poly / 3% other.

J.C.F. Cotton/Nylon Quilted Jacket – $ 58.80 w/ PRESTO ($ 98)

J.C.F. Cotton/Nylon Quilted Jacket

Lighter in weight than some other quilted jackets, but the design stands out for all the right reasons. Has cotton in there as the base to eliminate that shine that all poly/synthetic can bring. Dead simple. Zipper front this year instead of the snaps that last year’s olive color version had.

Schott NYC Made in the USA Wool Blend Officer’s Coat – $ 420

Schott NYC Made in the USA Wool Blend Officer's Coat

A departure from their classic Peacoat styles. Called a “slender” fit, but still layerable. Made in the USA from an 80% wool / 20% nylon blend. Walks the line between tough and refined. An investment, but something you’re gonna have for a very, very long time.

Relwen Trap Blazer in Navy Or Loden – $ 348

Relwen Trap Blazer

Yes it’s a sportcoat, but it’s a true “sporting” coat that’ll do plenty fine as outerwear. Unstructured but made from hearty wool blend tweed. Lots of functionality like extra pockets, a 4-button front with throat tab, and a game pocket in the rear. Ships and returns for free via Huckberry.

Suitsupply 2/3 Roll Wool Topcoat in Navy or Charcoal – $ 499

Suitsupply Topcoat

From their “Essentials” line. Soft wool, classic shape, and plenty of width to those lapels. Ships and returns for free being that it’s Suitsupply. Bummed that the price has gone up by $ 100 in the last year, but, materials and labor are getting more expensive every day.

The Reminder:  Go check out your local Army/Navy Surplus store

Army/Navy Surplus Options

The annual nudge to go check out your local surplus store if you’ve got one nearby. There were a lot of peacoats & topcoats from wheelhouse retailers that were tried on and could have made this list, but most cost more than an Army/Navy surplus coat, without delivering equal quality or better looks. Most surplus stores carry high quality, usually made-in-the-USA outerwear. Feel free to swap out buttons if they’re too showy (like on the bridge coat on the right). Both of the coats shown here were found for the low $ 100s.

And that’s just the first crop. Remember, sometimes it takes a little bit for seasonal stuff to go on sale, so while the above prices might feel a little steep on some of the items, a little patience can pay off. Got a tip on a coat or jacket for this fall or winter? Send those into

Date Hotspots For Frequent Travelers Looking For Romance

What exactly is a “frequent flyer dater?” Match, an online dating platform, defines it as someone who mixes business with pleasure while on the road and, apparently, it is becoming increasingly popular.

Match and travel site Localeur have teamed up to provide customers with a list of recommendations provided by locals on which dating hotspots they should hit up while they’re in town or on a business trip.

“Leisure travelers have been the primary source of Localeur’s users for years, but working with Match has allowed us to service the growing needs of business travelers,” Joah Spearman, CEO of Localeur, told Black Enterprise. “By partnering with Match, we’ve been able to bring more value to busy business travelers—whom we’ve deemed “frequent flyer daters”—who don’t want to stop their social lives just because they’re in a new city. This partnership, much like our work with JetBlue Airways, further demonstrates the desire from travelers for more authentic recommendations from locals.”

Looking back at past Yankees wild card games heading into do-or-die matchup with A’s

The Yankees and A’s, two teams well acclimated to the highly-debated wild card system, will battle it out Wednesday night for a chance to take on Boston in the ALDS.

Let’s take a look at the Bronx Bombers’ history in the do-or-die wild card game, infamously introduced for the 2012 season.
