We’ve Got You Covered: Our Picks for 2019’s Best Car Insurance Companies

Car ownership comes with unseen costs. Everyone’s least favorite: the dreaded insurance.

Car insurance companies often get a bad rap, partially thanks to reviews from disgruntled customers. That makes it hard to determine the best auto insurance for you.

What does “best” car insurance company even mean?

The answer differs widely from consumer to consumer. If saving money is your biggest concern, you’ll probably value cheaper premiums over all else. If you’ve had bad experiences with customer service, you’ll want a company known for its superior service and reliability.

You may also want to consider other factors, like whether an insurer covers drivers with poor records or offers discounts for teen drivers with good grades.

Best Car Insurance on a Budget

Auto insurance rates depend on a variety of factors, including your age, location and driving track record. Therefore, the cheapest car insurance varies from driver to driver.

Here’s a list of companies offering budget-friendly car insurance.

Erie Insurance Group

You might not have heard of Erie Insurance Group. That’s because, as of February 2019, it’s only available in 12 states plus the District of Columbia. But compared to other insurers, Erie’s rates tend to be lower, particularly in Pennsylvania and Virginia.

In addition to offering competitive rates, Erie Insurance Group came at the top of the J.D. Power U.S. Auto Claims Satisfaction Study.

If you live in Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, DC or New York, check out Erie to see if you could save money.

Average Rate: $ 1,052 per year

Geico

You probably know Geico from those commercials with the annoying British gecko. But that gecko’s claim about saving you 15% or more on car insurance could be true for you.

Geico is the second largest insurer in the U.S. and is available in all 50 states. Of those states, drivers in New York and Utah could save the most with Geico.

In the J.D. Power U.S. Claims Satisfaction Study, Geico ranked about average in most categories, and scored five out of five in the Rental Experience category, which focuses on customers’ experiences with getting rental cars while their own vehicle undergoes repairs.

Average Rate: $ 1,067 per year

American Family

Coming in at the third most affordable insurance company, American Family is also available nationwide. It ranks average in the J.D. Power U.S. Claims Satisfaction Study in all categories.

If your biggest concern is cost, it’s definitely worth getting a quote to see how it compares in your area.

Average Rate: $ 1,099 per year

Best Car Insurance Customer Service

Customer satisfaction is measured by many factors. To determine the most reliable car insurance company, we turned to the aforementioned J.D. Power U.S. Claims Satisfaction Study.

The study rates insurance companies based on seven categories: repair process, overall satisfaction, the initial claims reporting process, the process of getting an estimate, rental experience, claims servicing and settlement.

Here are the top three, in order:

Erie Insurance

As well as being the most affordable car insurance company, Erie scored top marks in the J.D. Power study, beating out many of its better-known competitors. It received five out of five in all categories except repair process, where it scored four out of five.

Overall Satisfaction: 5/5

USAA

USAA offers insurance for active duty military, veterans and family members of those people. It came in second place in the J.D. Power study with top marks in all categories, except estimation process, where it received four out of five.

Overall Satisfaction: 5/5

Amica Mutual

Amica Mutual came in third place in the J.D. Power study, receiving dings in a few categories. For first notice of loss and estimation process, it scored four out of five. The repair process scored three out of five, and rental experience was two out of five.

Overall Satisfaction: 5/5

Best Car Insurance for Teens

Women on tropical island road trip with retro car enjoying the sun and the sea

Teen drivers typically find it hard to get affordable insurance. A new driver’s lack of experience and maturity places a black mark on them, which equates to higher premiums. But there is hope out there for young drivers looking for decent insurance coverage.

State Farm

State Farm offers a variety of discounts for young drivers. The Good Student Discount offers discounts of up to 25% for drivers under 25 who maintain good grades in school. You can also get a driver training discount for taking driver’s ed classes.

The Steer Clear safe driver discount uses an app to record your trips, and you can also watch safe driving videos and take quizzes.

Erie Insurance

Erie Insurance is good for teen drivers as well as more experienced drivers. The Youthful Driver Discount is for unmarried drivers under 21 who live at home.

The Youthful Longevity Discount is designed for drivers who spend multiple years in a row under an Erie policy, whether their own or their parents’.

Finally, the Driver Training Discount gives cheaper rates — discounts range from 5% to 20% — to drivers under 21 who complete an accredited driver training course.

American Family

American Family offers a Teen Safe Driver program that can net you a nice discount on your premiums. The program uses an app to track driving behavior and suggest ways you can become safer behind the wheel.

After 3,000 miles or one year in the program, you’ll get a 10% discount on your insurance premium.

Best Car Insurance for a Bad Driving Record

If you have a bad driving record, chances are you find it hard to get affordable car insurance. But don’t despair: Some auto insurance providers do offer affordable policies even to bad drivers.

Geico

If you have a history of reckless driving, Geico could be your best bet. For drivers with a history of speeding, reckless/careless driving or running a stop sign, Geico could save you around 20%.

Progressive

For drivers with a DUI on their record, finding an auto insurance company that will take a chance on you can be tough. Progressive may be your refuge. This insurance company is also a good option if you have an accident for which you were at fault on your driving record. You could save 30-40%, depending on your exact situation.

How to Choose the Best Car Insurance Company For You

Consumer Reports recommends shopping around to get the best deal, even if you already have insurance. Doing so will show you the variety of available options so you can make the best decision based on your needs and budget.

Your best bet is to get in touch with the company and ask some questions pertaining to your situation. Here are a few important questions to get you started.

What Types of Claims Are Covered?

The minimum mandatory coverage varies depending on where you live. The first place to check is your state insurance commissioner’s website to see those minimum requirements. For example, in Ohio, where I live, only liability insurance is required by law.

But you might choose to buy more than the minimum requirement in order to more fully protect yourself and your assets.

Ask your insurance agent what they cover. If you stick with basic liability insurance, make sure you read the fine print to see the types of claims it covers. Ditto if you add things like physical damage coverage or anything above and beyond the minimum.

What Is Excluded?

Just as you need to know what’s covered, you should know what’s excluded. For example, some policies may not cover you if you’re in a collision with an uninsured driver, if you’re a victim of vehicle theft, if you collide with an animal or if your car is damaged in a natural disaster.

Ask for a list of what’s not covered so you can determine the likelihood that these exclusions will affect you. For example, if you live in an area prone to hurricanes, you’ll want to make sure your car is covered for natural disasters. If you often drive on country roads, you’ll probably want to be covered if you hit a deer.

Can I Choose Who Performs Repairs?

When your car sustains damage, some insurance companies will choose the auto repair shop that will fix your car. This is usually due to an agreement between the repair shop and the insurance company, where the shop cuts the insurance company a deal for sending customers their way.

Usually this works out fine, but if you have a preferred mechanic you might not appreciate being told where to get your car fixed. Or, if you have a high deductible, you might want to get a second opinion on price before committing to a repair order.

What Are the Costs?

With any insurance plan, the most notable costs are the monthly premiums. But your deductible could cause you some serious financial issues in case of an accident.

A high deductible means you’ll need to pay more out of pocket for a repair before your insurance policy kicks in and covers the rest. If you have enough in savings, you could get away with a higher deductible and lower monthly premium. But if your safety net is lacking, opting for a lower deductible and higher premiums could be a smarter choice.

What Additional Coverage Is Offered?

Liability insurance typically only covers damage to other people or property when you’re at fault. Under liability insurance, repairing your own car could be on you. For that reason, you might consider additional coverage to help cover you in a variety of different scenarios.

Comprehensive coverage protects you in cases where your car is damaged by an event other than an accident, like an act of Mother Nature.

Collision coverage pays to repair your car after an accident, typically whether or not the accident was your fault.

Uninsured motorist protection covers you when you’re in an accident with a driver who doesn’t have insurance. Without this type of protection, you would be liable for any damage to your vehicle, which could end up costing you big.

Personal injury protection, also called “no-fault” coverage, helps pay for medical and other costs no matter whose fault the accident was. It can also cover things like lost wages and transportation to medical appointments. Some states mandate this type of coverage, while in others it’s an optional add-on.

How to Save Money on Car Insurance

You have multiple ways to make sure you’re getting the best rate on your car insurance, no matter which company you choose.

Bundle Your Insurance

It pays to go with the same company for all your insurance needs. Most insurance companies offer discounted rates when you bundle things like home, auto and personal property insurance.

Drive Safely

It can pay to be a responsible driver. Most insurance companies lower your rates the longer you go without an accident. Others use technology like apps to measure your driving behavior and offer a discount for using the app to become a better driver.

Pay in Full

You might be able to get a discount by paying your annual car insurance premium in full. It’s worth considering if you have enough in savings and want to spend less overall on car insurance. If you can’t afford to pay in full, ask if you can get a discount for enrolling in an auto-pay program.

Driver Training

Many insurance companies will offer a discount if you complete driver training courses, regardless of your age.

Car Safety Equipment

Things like anti-theft devices, airbags and safety technology found in new cars could get you a discount. Make sure you mention these when getting a quote.

Choosing the right car insurance policy can be a stressful experience, but it pays to shop around and consider all your options before signing on the dotted line.

Cole Haan Harrison Grand Cap Toe Oxford

Lamarque Leather Racer Jacket – $ 279 ($ 525)

Lamarque Leather Racer Jacket

Not bad for a leather moto style jacket. Leather quality can really vary, so, give it a good strong look once it arrives. If it’s not up to snuff? Send it back. You can do that since it’s Nordstrom. For free.

Asics GEL-Kayano 25 Running Shoe – $ 119.95 ($ 159.95)

Asics GEL-Kayano 25 Running Shoe

Surprise! What the heck are these doing here? Because if you’re like me, and a bit more dump truck than gazelle, these could change your life. I’m a heavy striker. But I can be fast if I need to be fast. 200 lbs of men’s style blogger can get chuggin’ if need be, and these have helped protect my knees and back and all that jazz for a long time. I lift in these. I kickbox in these. I walk/run the dog in these. Worth every penny. And the new design (especially the white/gray/black) don’t look like hot baby poo when paired up with some warm up pants and a decent track jacket.

Nordstrom Rack: Numerous Hamilton Automatics all for 40% – 50% off:

Hamilton

Why the Nordstrom Rack mention? Because there are a LOT of watches in this Spring sale. Lots of Hamiltons. For around 25% – 30% off. Sony Pictures Picks Up ‘Hair Love’ Film About Black Father Doing Daughter’s Hair

Mom and Daughter in a Home

Source: RichLegg / Getty

After raising money for two years, retired NFL player Matthew Cherry’s short-film Hair Love has been picked up by Sony Pictures, Deadline reports. The animated short film shows a black father who is learning how to do his daughter’s head of thick curls for the first time.

Cherry’s Kickstarter fundraising goal for the film was set at $ 75,000 and he went well over his goal, raising $ 284,058.

“In the past year, it has been very clear that audiences have been yearning to see fresh stories that are universal and culturally authentic,” Sony Animation President Kristine Belson said. “Hair Love is a wonderful father-daughter story and we are proud to nurture talented young filmmakers like Matthew who are breaking new ground.”

Cherry, who also executive-produced Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman, is happy to see his film come into fruition to help increase representation of African-American characters in animated films.

“It was important to get this story out there and we are so grateful to Sony Pictures Animation for their generous support in helping us make that happen,” Cherry said. “They have championed it from its early stages and we cannot wait to share the project with the world.”

Hair Love will be released later this year. There will also be an accompanying children’s book that will be released May 14th and is available for pre-order.

Ultimate Basketball Fan Barack Obama Reveals His 2019 March Madness Picks

Former president and noted basketball enthusiast Barack Obama revealed his NCAA tournament brackets just in time for March Madness 2019, continuing a tradition he began while he was in the Oval Office.

Obama, who memorably began publicly sharing his brackets during his time as the commander-in-chief, posted his picks for this year’s tourney via the Obama Foundation, as he did last year. This year, Obama has selected the Duke Blue Devils to take it all for the men’s championship, while for the women’s tourney, he selected longtime NCAA champions, the University of Connecticut.

For his men’s picks, Obama selected Michigan, Tennessee, UNC, and of course, Duke for the Final Four, predicting that Duke will beat known rival UNC. His decision to select Duke as the champion might have surprised some, as Obama has frequently favored the Tar Heels in his March Madness picks in the past.

Papa John’s Picks Shaq as Pitchman After Founder’s Racist Controversy

(NEW YORK) — Papa John’s has a new pitchman: Shaquille O’Neal.

The chain says basketball Hall of Famer will appear on TV commercials and promoted Papa John’s in other ways. He will also join the company’s board of directors and invest in nine of its restaurants in the Atlanta area.

Papa John’s is trying to revive its image after the company’s founder and namesake, John Schnatter, was reported to have used a racial slur during a media training session. Schnatter, who was the face of the company, has apologized for the slur and the company scrubbed his face from the company’s logo and advertisements last year. Schnatter is still the Louisville, Kentucky-based company’s biggest shareholder.

Papa John’s International Inc. says it will pay O’Neal more than $ 8 million in cash and company stock for a three-year endorsement deal.

Wall Street seems to think it’s a winning partnership. Shares of Papa John’s soared more than 4 percent Friday.

Picks of the Week: Three Thrilling Films Out Now About Women Around the World

Picks of the Week is Women and Hollywood’s newest resource. We are often asked for recommendations, so each week we’ll spotlight the women-driven and women-made projects—movies, series, VOD releases and more—that we’re most excited about. Sign up for the Women and Hollywood newsletter at womenandhollywood.com to get each week’s pick delivered to your inbox.

Pick of the Week: Greta

No good deed goes unpunished in Greta.

The campy thriller sees Chloë Grace Moretz playing Frances, a kind young woman new to New York City. One fateful day, she finds a purse left behind by someone on the subway; the Good Samaritan uses an ID card in the bag to contact its owner, who welcomes Frances into her home. Greta (Isabelle Huppert), a lonely widow living in a foreign land, is grateful to have her purse back, but more grateful for Frances’ company.

Huppert and Moretz have good chemistry as they bond over cinema, tea and cooking. Then, things go sour—and the former begins to stalk the latter, terrorizing her at every turn.

Greta is best viewed in a packed theater. Half the fun of watching the pic is seeing—and hearing—the audience’s reaction as the film becomes increasingly wild and weird. The delightfully absurd roller coaster ride is especially enjoyable alongside other passengers, whether they’re laughing, gasping or sneering at Greta’s twists and turns. (Laura Berger)

Greta opens March 1.

Pick of the Week: Woman at War

Halla (Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir) is a seemingly average Icelandic woman: a choir director trying to adopt an orphan from Ukraine. But behind her apparently normal life, Halla has become a stealth eco-terrorist, using a bow and arrow to knock down power lines and sabotage development in the countryside.

At first, the terrorism is dismissed, but as she becomes bolder and causes more damage, the authorities double down on trying to capture the anonymous warrior who is fighting for a greener future. (Melissa Silverstein)

Woman at War opens in New York and Los Angeles March 1, with a national expansion to follow. Find screening info here

Pick of the Week: Saint Judy

Immigration issues are front and center in the news. Saint Judy reminds you about the people, not the politics, that are affected by the laws.

Judy Wood (Michelle Monaghan), a woman trying to make a living as an immigration attorney, has more cases than she can handle and barely gets paid. But when she represents a woman seeking asylum who has been persecuted due to her gender, she winds up changing U.S. immigration law. (MS)

Saint Judy opens in select cities March 1 and will expand March 8. Find screening info here.

Women and Hollywood educates, advocates and agitates for gender diversity and inclusion in Hollywood and the global film industry. Pick of the Week: United Skates

Directed by Dyana Winkler and Tina Brown; Written by Dyana Winkler

A fascinating look into a African-American subculture that’s been largely overlooked by the mainstream, United Skates digs into the history—and uncertain future—of roller skating rinks in the U.S.

Tina Brown and Dyana Winkler’s documentary explores the huge impact rinks have had on hip-hop culture, and what the meeting place means to millions of Black Americans, both historically and presently. The Tribeca Audience Award-winner is a beautiful celebration of the magic that takes place on rinks across the nation, but it also offers an important case study in segregation of the past and present, exploring how many rinks create rules designed to deter people of color from participating and the coded language used to communicate what events they are welcome to attend.

“At a time when our country feels very divided, we want people to see that this is a community celebrating what unites them,” Brown and Winkler told us in an interview. It’s an absolute thrill to watch families, friends, couples, and strangers having the time of their lives on the rink—and performing amazing acts of athleticism and artistry in doing so. With rinks shuttering at an alarming rate, United Skates is a powerful testament to what will be lost when their doors close. (Laura Berger)

United Skates is streaming now on HBO GO and HBO NOW.

Pick of the Week: It’s a Hard Truth Ain’t It

Co-Directed by Madeleine Sackler (Click here to read Women and Hollywood’s interview with Sackler.)

There’s a lot going on in It’s a Hard Truth Ain’t It. The product of a filmmaking workshop held at Indiana’s Pendleton Correctional Facility, the doc was made in collaboration by director Madeleine Sackler and inmates Dennis Brown, Marshaun Buggs, Al’Jonon Coleman, James Collins, Franklin Cox, Brandon Crider, Clifford Elswick, Quentis Hardiman, Joseph Henderson, Charles Lawrence, Herb Robertson, Rushawn Tanksley and Mark Thacker. In its relatively short running time (one hour and 15 minutes), the film explores who gets to tell certain stories, and how they should be told.

As prisoners who ended up in a maximum-security facility due to violence, the doc’s filmmakers/subjects are among the most marginalized people in the U.S. Using the filmmaking tenets Sackler teaches, the directors/film subjects interview one another about their pasts, their crimes, their identities and their dreams. Wisely, Sackler mostly acts as an observer and gives these men the space and opportunity to share their stories on their terms.

Politically and socially, we don’t tend to care about convicts or their perspectives: they did wrong, and deserve to be punished and ignored. But It’s a Hard Truth Ain’t It sees Brown, Buggs, Coleman, Collins, Cox, Crider, Elswick, Hardiman, Henderson, Lawrence, Robertson, Tanksley and Thacker as people, neither good nor bad, and allows them to speak for themselves.

It’s revolutionary—and incredibly vital. (Rachel Montpelier)

It’s a Hard Truth Ain’t It will air on HBO February 25 at 10 p.m. ET. It will subsequently be available on HBO GO and HBO NOW.

Picks of the Week: Gender and Justice Intersecting On-Screen

Picks of the Week is Women and Hollywood’s newest resource. We are often asked for recommendations, so each week we’ll spotlight the women-driven and women-made projects—movies, series, VOD releases and more—that we’re most excited about. Sign up for the Women and Hollywood newsletter at womenandhollywood.com to get each week’s pick delivered to your inbox.

Theatrical Release of the Week: Birds of Passage

Directed by Cristina Gallego and Ciro Guerra; Written by Maria Camila Arias and Jacques Toulemonde Vidal

Based on a true story, Colombia-set Birds of Passage tells the story of the Wayuu, an indigenous group ravaged by the drug war. Kicking off in 1968, the epic is told in five parts and spans a dozen years. We witness Zaida (Natalia Reyes), a young woman from the revered Pushaina clan, performing an elaborate coming-of-age dance that attracts the attention of Rapayet (José Acosta), a poor orphan raised by his uncle.

The matriarch of Zaida’s family is unimpressed with her potential suitor, and demands a dowry that should prove impossible for him to deliver. But Rapayet figures out a way to fulfill the requirement: he gets involved in the marijuana business, forever changing the fate of the Wayuu tribe. Despite a high body count, the crime saga is anything but conventional.

A slow-burn, haunting story of family, honor, greed and capitalism, Birds of Passage is visually stunning and offers a fascinating look into the traditions of the Wayuu. (Laura Berger)

Birds of Passage opens in NY February 13 and in LA February 15. Find screening info here.

Docuseries of the Week: “Lorena”

Lorena Bobbitt became a household name in 1993 when she cut off her then-husband’s penis with a kitchen knife while he slept. Her shocking attack—and the fact that her trial was televised—made her an overnight news sensation. A four-part docuseries, Amazon’s “Lorena” sees Bobbitt telling her side of the story, and exploring how so much of the racist and sexist news coverage surrounding the case—and tasteless jokes on late-night TV—often ignored or minimized the fact that she claimed her husband, John Wayne, physically and sexually abused her. Dismissed as a “hot-blooded Latina” and a “jealous wife,” Bobbitt had many witnesses corroborate her account of her husband’s monstrous behavior.

Cheesy and unnecessary reenactments aside, “Lorena” offers a powerful portrait of a woman pushed to the brink—and a nation wholly unprepared to deal with its epidemic of domestic abuse. The docuseries provides a helpful historical overview of what services and legal recourse were available to abused women at the time, or more accurately, the lack thereof. Hopefully the rise of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements will encourage Bobbitt skeptics to view the case through a new lens, and encourage all of us to do more for the millions of women who continue to be affected by domestic abuse. (LB)

“Lorena” will stream on Amazon Prime beginning February 15.

TV Movie of the Week: “Kim Possible”

No matter your age, chances are you’ll find something to love in “Kim Possible,” a new Disney Channel movie that’s also a Gen Z update of the beloved early-aughts cartoon. Kim is no longer animated, but she’s still everyone’s favorite straight-A student/crime fighter.

If you watched the original series, you’ll get a kick out of Christy Carlson Romano’s (i.e. the voice of the animated Kim) cameo, and the film’s many Easter eggs. If you think young girls need more ass-kicking role models like Buffy Summers, you’ll probably be delighted to see Alyson Hannigan—yes, Willow!—playing Kim’s brain surgeon mother. If you enjoy multi-generational stories about women, à la “Gilmore Girls” or “Jane the Virgin,” you’ll be psyched when Kim (Sadie Stanley), her mom, and her nana (Connie Ray) team up to take down the bad guys. If your favorite characters tend to be villains, you’ll bask in Shego’s (Taylor Ortega) scenes—between her side-eye and acid tongue, she pretty much steals the entire movie.

Most importantly, if you’re someone who appreciates a nuanced coming-of-age tale—especially one about a young woman in the midst of a huge life transition—“Kim Possible” delivers. Give or take the gymnastics skills and spy gadgets, we’ve all been in Kim’s shoes: the beginning of high school is rough, and figuring out your identity as a teen can feel impossible. But Kim makes her way through one shitty sitch after another and comes out the other side more confident than ever. Plus, she saves the world. (Rachel Montpelier)

“Kim Possible” premieres February 15 at 8pm ET on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW.

Nordstrom Winter Sale 2019 Picks for Men

Nordstrom Winter Sale 2/15 – 2/24

Is Nordstrom slowly starting to increase the number of sale events that they run? They don’t run many. The big Anniversary Sale pre-fall, a couple of half-yearly sales, and that used to be it. But this “winter sale” has seen the sale section swell from under 2000 items to almost 4000. So, that’s something. Especially when everything ships for free. Sure, it’s not as amazing as the aforementioned Anniversary or Half-yearly events, but it’s still worth a look. We scrolled through all those pages so you don’t have to.

Jack Erwin ” Joe” Cap Toe Oxford – $ 130.65 ($ 195)

Jack Erwin " Joe" Cap Toe Oxford

Looks like a few Jack Erwin models are included in this sale. These are their basic, made in Spain, blake stitch, cap toe oxfords. A fair price at $ 195, and a nifty deal at $ 131. Full review here.

Norstrom Long Sleeve Polo – $ 35.70 ($ 59.50)

Norstrom Long Sleeve Polo

Basic, but Nordstrom’s house brand stuff usually punches above it’s weight. All cotton. Would look great under a knit sportcoat.

L.B.M 1911 Classic Fit Stretch Cotton Sport Coat – $ 416.98 ($ 695)

L.B.M 1911 Classic Fit Stretch Cotton Sport Coat

Meanwhile, on the other end of the price spectrum compared to those long sleeve polos… that’s a LOT of cash for a cotton sportcoat. But some guys swear by LBM 1911 and their offerings. I’m not one of them, personally, but I’m just some dope on the internet. 98% cotton and 2% stretch. Made in Italy.

1901 Made in Italy Wool or Wool/Cashmere Sportcoat – $ 209.40 ($ 349)

1901 Sportcoats

That’s more like it. Unconstructed, also made in Italy, and a HELL of a lot less expensive when compared to those LBM jackets. Oh, and these 1901 options are wool or wool/cashmere to boot. You can keep the cotton.

Robert Talbott Goodyear Welted Double Monks – $ 197.65 ($ 295)

Robert Talbott Goodyear Welted Double Monks

I don’t know where they’re made (all it says is “imported”) but Goodyear welted double monks in a do-anything shade of timeless brown? With a medallion at the toe too? Not bad. Especially since you can get them in your hands, and on your feet, and return them in case they don’t work out (just try them out on carpet to keep the soles pristine and returnable).

Barbour Flyweight Chelsea Quilted Jacket – $ 137.40 ($ 229)

Barbour Flyweight Chelsea Quilted Jacket

Not a bad price for a piece of heritage British designed outerwear. Just seeing the gray color for now?

Made in Italy GREATS Royale Sneaker – $ 119.93 ($ 179)

Made in Italy GREATS Royale Sneaker

White leather, gum sole. Not bad for made in Italy too. Extremely well reviewed. Word is they run large so order the next size down?

Red Wing Unlined Leather Gloves – $ 55.24–$ 64.24 ($ 84.99)

Red Wing Unlined Leather Gloves

Deerskin, made in the USA, and two colors to pick from. Lots to like for a casual glove.

Barbour Lutz Quilted Jacket – $ 161.40 ($ 269)

Barbour Lutz Quilted Jacket

Gets a lot of things right. Diamond quilting. Belted collar. Couple of colors to pick from.

Jack Erwin Adam Wingtip – $ 130.65 ($ 195)

Jack Erwin Adam Wingtip

More Spanish made, sleek, Blake stitch goodness. A little more modern looking than most other wingtips. True oxford lacing here.

adidas originals Beckenbauer Track Jacket – $ 47.98 ($ 80)

adidas originals Beckenbauer Track Jacket

Perfect for getting back and forth to the gym. And the fact that the pockets zip close is key. Why? Because track jackets almost always have pretty slick fabric. And if you’ve had something slide out of your pockets to/from the gym in the past (keys/wallet/earbuds), you know it’s a disaster waiting to happen. Fabric makeup is 52% cotton, 48% recycled polyester.

MVMT Forty Series “Black Silver” Watch – $ 71.98 ($ 120)

MVMT Forty Series “Black Silver” Watch

Nothing wild here. Simplicity and affordability. Also one of the five favorites from The Blue Stones. Here’s Tarek’s take on it: It’s just as wearable with a suit as it is with a T-shirt and jeans. Freaky, right?

Thomas and Vine Plain Toe Derby – $ 66.95 ($ 99.95)

Thomas and Vine Plain Toe Derby

A little funky (look at that lighter blue accents on the brown pair) but perhaps that’s what you’re going for at sixty seven dollars. Five different colors to pick from.

Golden Bear Waxed Cotton Car Coat – $ 399.90 ($ 650)

Golden Bear Waxed Cotton Car Coat

Cheap? Nope. Is it a timeless classic that’s made in the USA from waxed cotton? Yes. Yes it is.

Jack Erwin Hubert Longwing Derby – $ 97.49 – $ 130.65 ($ 195)

Jack Erwin Hubert Longwing Derby

Goodyear welted and made in Spain. Not bad for $ 100 – $ 130. Brown will run you $ 130. Black is half off and just under $ 100.

The North Face Campshire Fleece Vest – $ 59.40 ($ 99)

The North Face Campshire Fleece Vest

I woulda killed for one of these in 1997. Now? They prove that fashion certainly is cyclical. And I have to admit… that off white option is giving off some pretty cool retro vibes.

1901 Richland Buck Shoe – $ 54.98–$ 73.70 ($ 110)

1901 Richland Buck Shoe

Bucks that aren’t clunky like traditional bucks. Studded rubber soles too. So, bucks that aren’t just for summertime? Price depends on which of the three colors you’re after.

adidas Tiro Soccer Training Pants – $ 32.98 ($ 45)

adidas Tiro Soccer Training Pants

Because sometimes you need some new pants to get back and forth to the gym in.

John W. Nordstrom Classic Fit Plaid Wool Sport Coat – $ 299.40 ($ 499)

John W. Nordstrom Classic Fit Plaid Wool Sport Coat

Made in Italy, 100% wool, and just partially lined.

1901 Bremerton Wingtip – $ 87.10 ($ 130)

1901 Bremerton Wingtip

From one of their younger leaning house brands. A basic wingtip blucher, which leans more casual than an oxford, but sleeker than your Dad’s or Grandpa’s wingers.

The Rail Fleece Jacket – $ 59.70 ($ 99.50)

The Rail Fleece Jacket

My Grandmother had this exact same toilet lid cover.

This Nordstrom Winter Sale is scheduled to run clear through the 24th. Not sure what happens then… if these items go back to a full price, some get marked down further, prices stay the same, or it’s a combination of all three.

FASHION DEAL UPDATE:

Quick Picks: J. Press Winter Sale

J. Press: Up to 60% off Winter Sale (anything over 25% off = Final Sale)

J. Press is not known to everyone. They are traditional, preppy, sometimes expensive, and haven’t saturated the web quite like bigger brands and retailers. Some people love em’. Some people think they’re classic to the point of being old and dusty.

Doesn’t mean this sale isn’t worth covering.

Anything over 25% off is final sale. No returns. So be careful. Also know that navigating their site is kinda a pain. To find all items on sale, you’ll have to scout through each category one at a time. Seems like their “sale” links aren’t showing the full inventory of markdowns. Big thanks to Ben M. for sending in the tip and feedback on individual items for this one!

Loake Suede Monk Straps in Brown or Navy – $ 221.25 ($ 295)

A nice little surprise, especially with winter (hopefully) coming to a close in the next month or two. Right at 25% off so I think you can return them? Made in England and sized in UK sizes. Most suggest going down half a size from your US size. See Loake’s conversion chart here.

Loake Chelsea boots in brown or black – $ 206.25 ($ 275)

Also right at 25% off, so, I believe these can be returned. Also sized in UK Sizes, so, do that conversion. No idea what’s going on with their graphics as shown above. That “blip” on each boot, towards the top of the shaft? Beats me. A glitch in the Matrix?

Barbour Flyweight Chelsea – $ 137.40 FINAL ($ 229) or Lowerdale Vest – $ 107.40 FINAL ($ 179)

Couple of transitional weather pieces of classic British designed outerwear. More than a couple of colors to pick from. Really liking that lighter blue. Didn’t even know they made one in that shade.

Made in the USA Navy Gingham Classic Fit Button Down – $ 81 FINAL ($ 135)

Not J. Crew Factory pricing. And that’s understandable. Made in the USA. Check out the substantial collar. Classic fit here.

Made in Scotland Merino Shawl Collar Sweaters – $ 110 FINAL ($ 275)

Big thanks again to Ben M. for the tip and feedback here. He bought the gray option, said it’s a nice, substantial, warm sweater, but note that the tags say the sweaters are actually made in Ireland. Not Scotland. And I’m pretty sure the Scots and the Irish are tired of people confusing the two.

Made in Scotland Shetland Fair Isle Sweaters – $ 104 FINAL ($ 260)

The real deal and not some cheap imitation. Final sale though.

Shinola Assembled in the USA Runwell in Black/Blue or Orange/Cream – $ 330 FINAL ($ 575)

Yes they’re quartz. Yes, some watch snobs turn their noses up at the idea of Shinola. But they’re assembled in Detroit, and some people love the updated vintage aesthetic that Shinola goes after. And the brand just doesn’t go on sale anywhere all that often.

Made in the USA Silk Bulldog or Skull & Bones Tie – $ 47.40 FINAL ($ 79)

So preppy it hurts. Anyone for a game of squash? Anywho, made in the USA and 3.25″ wide. Lots of other ties are on sale too.

Merino Wool Cardigan Vest in Navy or Charcoal – $ 74 FINAL ($ 185)

For awhile there I was convinced that I was gonna become a Social Studies teacher. That dream died quick once I realized I couldn’t stay awake after reading more than 50 pages of anything. Phone book, Harry Potter*, War & Peace, whatever. So yeah. Had to pivot.

Wool Blend Ivy Cap in Olive – $ 66 FINAL or Grey Multi Pane – $ 58.80 FINAL ($ 98 – $ 110)

In case you’ve reached the age where you can wear hats un-ironically. Or maybe you just really like Peaky Blinders. Or you just can’t help but break into “Seize the Day” every once in awhile.

*I’ve never read a word of Harry Potter. Don’t know how it hasn’t happened, but it just hasn’t. Yet, every time I walk into the room and Mrs. Dappered has the TV on, Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings is playing.

Editor’s Favorites: Trendy Picks for 2019

Editor-in-chief Marc Atiyolil shares some of his favorite finds for the new year!

Love at First Sight

On a recent business trip, I had a chance to stop in at Fifth & Fir in Vancouver. This boutique tile destination offers a wide selection of gorgeous, designer tile options. I fell in love with this Oxford Blue pattern from the Mosaique Surface Dominion collection. I am a fan of Herringbone and Chevron patterns. Oxford Blue offers a modern feel to a traditional look with an offset pattern in Calacatta Oro, Gold Glass and Pacifica Blue! I would love to see this used as a feature wall behind a freestanding tub or as a backsplash in a stunning, dramatic kitchen with dark cabinets and marble countertops. – Oxford Blue, Fifth and Fir, www.fifthandfir.com

Delicate Details

The Chantilly Chest is a stunning blend of modern technology and historical design. Francesco Giampietro, principal designer at Chestnut Grove, had a whimsical idea to create a chest of drawers designed to hold lingerie. It evokes the same sensual feeling that its content evokes in an elegant and tasteful manner. It’s shape is inspired by the female form. After a year of experimentation in the design studio, the finished piece brings the visual and tactile appeal of lace in a delicate wood pattern that feels like lace to the touch. – Chantilly Chest, Chestnut Grove Design Studio, www.chestnutgrove.ca

Artistic Beauty

I first saw this bench by craftsman Randy Mugford on display at a design show and it immediately caught my attention! The maple tree stretching through the charcoal concrete panel is the stunning, unexpected detail that I love most. Custom-made in a variety of colors and wood species, the wood plank slides back and forth on a metal rail making it adjustable to fit a variety of spaces! – One Tree Bench, Randy Mugford, www.65design.ca

Kitchen Art

I love this Le Château double oven in a gorgeous deep blue enamel with a mix of gold and stainless steel details. Not only does it offer exceptional cooking but the stunning visual style of the piece becomes like artwork in the kitchen! – The Château 150, La Cornue, www.lacornue.com

Contemporary Flexibility

I love the contemporary feel of the Migliore sectional in a tan brown leather. The set is made of three unique pieces which can be put together in a variety of combinations to expand, reduce or reassemble as needed. The Migliore sectional is also available as part of a wall bed combination. – Migliori, Expand Furniture, www.expandfurniture.com

Pillow Talk

If you’re a side sleeper, a temperature-regulating wool body pillow with an organic cotton casing is a must. This beautiful, Premium Eco Wool Body Pillow from Resthouse Sleep Solutions offers support to reduce sore backs and achy shoulders! – Premium Eco Wool Body Pillow, Resthouse Sleep Solutions, resthouse.ca

Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale Picks for Men

Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale Winter 2018-19

There are seasonal clearance sales, and then there are seasonal clearance sales. This is the latter. This is one that you probably don’t want to brush aside. It’s not just any other clearance. It’s Nordstrom, and for whatever reason, they continue to do just about everything right, while the rest of the department store retail world seems to get it wrong.

Great in-house brands. Terrific 3rd party stuff. Deep cuts, usually reasonable size selections, and as always, everything ships and returns for free. Their sale section is easy to browse too… it’s just… enormous. So if you don’t feel like scrolling, and scrolling, and scrolling… you’ll find a selection below of what we’ve deemed to be the best of the best. But if we’ve missed something in this massive half-yearly sale that deserves a mention? Shoot an email to joe@dappered.com. Okay. Off we go.

Made in Italy Good Man Brand Legend Sneakers – $ 132.66 ($ 198)

Good Man Brand Legend Sneakers

Cleaner than the Board of Health. Both are pebbled leather (which is a little tough to see on a screen when it comes to the white option), and both are made in Italy. Also available in black, which is pretty close to sold out at post time. Head here for a review of the smooth leather/blue heeled version, which sadly isn’t included in this sale.

Nordstrom Cashmere V-Neck Sweater – $ 98.90 ($ 145)

Nordstrom Cashmere V-Neck Sweater

Not cheap since it’s cashmere, but, under $ 100 isn’t half bad for a good cashmere sweater. Tons of colors to pick from too. Also available in a crew neck if that’s what you’re after (more crewneck cashmere colors can be found here… not sure why they’re in different spots).

1901 Auburn Chukka Boot – $ 73.90 ($ 124.95)

1901 Auburn Chukka Boot

Looks like a smooth leather version of their highly appreciated 1901 suede chukka. Different sole on these (no studs) but still some traction.

Barbour Lightweight Ashby Wax Jacket – $ 239.40 ($ 399)

Barbour Lightweight Ashby Wax Jacket

A hefty discount on heritage British sportswear. Lightweight here, but still waxed. Corduroy collar.

Wolverine 1000 Mile Wedge Boot – $ 254.98 ($ 425)

Wolverine 1000 Mile Wedge Boot

Well all right then. Was going for $ 280 during the big Anniversary Sale back in July, then went back to full price. Now? 40% off. Horween leather here helps too. Made in the USA. Sizes are already starting to go quick.

Nordstrom Smartcare Trim Fit Solid Dress Shirt – $ 29.90 ($ 49.50)

Nordstrom Smartcare Trim Fit Solid Dress Shirt

Why do you guys always recommend Nordstrom dress shirts? Look, don’t take our word for it. After 160+ reviews, these are still almost 5/5 stars. That’s hard to do these days on the interwebz. Also available with a button down collar if that’s what you’re after.

Allen Edmonds Hearst Cap Toe Boot – $ 249.90 ($ 395)

Allen Edmonds Hearst Cap Toe Boot

Who? Hearst? Is this a Nordstrom exclusive? Made in Port Washington. Cap toe. Ankle high, but not a true chukka. Dainite studded rubber sole for traction.

Made in Italy 1901 Extra Trim Fit Wool & Silk Sport Coat – $ 149.49 ($ 299)

Made in Italy 1901 Extra Trim Fit Wool & Silk Sport Coat

Not bad at all for made in Italy. $ 150? For real? Sure. Exterior is a blend of wool and silk from the Zignone mill. Just butterfly lined in the back. A true slim fit here.

Cole Haan ‘Colton’ Chukka Boot – $ 124.98 ($ 250)

Cole Haan 'Colton' Chukka Boot

Very, very well reviewed. Storm welt. Blue panels at the top and grip on the sole. A Nordstrom exclusive. Now half off.

1901 Extra Trim Fit Wool/Cotton Sportcoat – $ 149.49 ($ 299)

1901 Extra Trim Fit Wool/Cotton Sportcoat

Another oddly inexpensive, made in Italy sportcoat. Wool/Cotton blend from Marzotto.

Calibrate Trim Fit Stretch Solid Dress Shirt – $ 31.80 – $ 46.90 ($ 79.50)

Calibrate Trim Fit Stretch Solid Dress Shirt

Not quite sure why there’s two different price points (the white is the cheaper $ 32 option), but not bad for a ships and returns for free stretch dress shirt. 96% cotton and 4% spandex.

John W. Nordstrom Fiore Medallion Toe Derby – $ 97.49 ($ 195)

John W. Nordstrom Fiore Medallion Toe Derby

Not an oxford, but an open laced derby. Still, the sleekness and that dress medallion should make them suit worthy. Made in Italy too.

Nordstrom 100% Cashmere Scarves – $ 49.75 ($ 99.50) and/or Hats – $ 34.75 ($ 69.50)

Nordstrom cashmere

What’s an after Christmas clearance event without a bunch of cashmere scarves and hats? And since it’s Nordstrom, you can count on the cashmere they selected to be of good quality, especially for these reasonable prices.

Goodman Brand Soft Cotton Sportcoats in Gray or Blue – $ 178.80 ($ 298)

Goodman Brand Soft Cotton Sportcoats

Obviously these are more than a bit on the “chopped” side, and despite that, I still love them. I wear mine (a wool/cotton number) more like a cardigan, often with henleys and t-shirts and sneakers. All cotton here.

Polo RL Mixed Media Gloves in Deerskin – $ 40.80 ($ 68) or Quilted Leather – $ 46.80 ($ 78)

Ralph Lauren Gloves

Winter just technically started, so, lots of opportunity left to wear these things. Touch screen compatible too.

Bonobos Jetsetter Slim Fit Unconstructed Blazer – $ 224.98 ($ 450)

Bonobos Jetsetter Slim Fit Unconstructed Blazer

Totally unlined in the back. 97% wool and 3% poly. Half off, and unlike Bonobos when it gets to half off, this isn’t final sale. You can very much return it.

Calibrate Solid Merino Wool Blend Socks – $ 7.49 ($ 12.50)

Calibrate Solid Merino Wool Blend Socks

I don’t have any experience with these socks, but Calibrate is still a Nordstrom house brand. Mid-calf length. And merino wool blend for dress socks is a must around these parts.

Good Man Brand Slim Fit Merino Wool Track Jacket – $ 136.80 ($ 228)

Good Man Brand Slim Fit Merino Wool Track Jacket

Yes please. A nice mix of modern style with heritage materials. 100% merino wool.

J. Crew Ludlow Trim Fit Solid Wool Blazer – $ 212.49 ($ 425)

J. Crew Ludlow Trim Fit Solid Wool Blazer

Well this is confusing. The description clearly states that it’s super 120s Loro Piana Italian wool (and the shot of the inside of the jacket shows the corresponding label). But J. Crew’s legacy blazers have been made with American wool for a while now? Or is this a suit jacket? Beats me.

The Rail Carlin Work Boot – $ 71.98 ($ 120)

The Rail Carlin Work Boot

From one of Nordstrom’s in-house brands. Red Wing looks without the steep price.

John W. Nordstrom 80% wool / 20% Cashmere Overcoat – $ 299.49 ($ 599)

John W. Nordstrom 80% wool / 20% Cashmere Overcoat

A basic, but being that it’s not just Nordstrom, but their upgraded John W. line, you can be pretty assured that it’ll be a well executed basic. And 20% cashmere is nothing to sneeze at. Sizes are starting to get a bit short.

Norstrom Signature Trim Fit Plaid Wool Sport Coat – $ 359.40 ($ 599)

Norstrom Signature Trim Fit Plaid Wool Sport Coat

Made in Italy. Should do well with jeans. Really like that it’s just butterfly lined in the back. Trim fit too. Get yer professorial-look on.

Ted Baker Merman Faux Leather Briefcase – $ 77.40 ($ 129)

Ted Baker Merman Faux Leather Briefcase

Faux leather, but that stripe is pretty slick and the price sure is right… assuming it doesn’t look or feel super plastic in person.

Nordstrom 100% Cashmere Scarfs in Gray or Blue Windowpane – $ 49.75 ($ 99.50)

Nordstrom 100% Cashmere Scarfs

In case you need something to go with that new topcoat.

1901 Made in Italy Extra Trim Fit Wool Blend Sport Coat – $ 179.49 ($ 349)

1901 Made in Italy Extra Trim Fit Wool Blend Sport Coat

Fabric is 94% wool and 6% poly. Considered a true trim fit, and it looks like the tails might be on the shorter side? Another pretty good price for being made in Italy.

John W. Nordstrom Double Monks – $ 92.49 ($ 185)

John W. Nordstrom Double Monks

More sub $ 100 Italian shoes. Speaking of oddly affordable made in Italy goods… I’m guessing these are blake stitched? Plain toe here. Not bad if you’re in the market for a pair of double monks.

Vintage 1946 Cotton/Poly Henleys – $ 29.75 ($ 59.50)

Vintage 1946 Cotton/Poly Henleys

Mainly cotton with some poly in there for softness and stretch. Lots of colors and even some stripes or rib knit to pick from.

1901 Stevens Waterproof Chukka Boot – $ 78.90 ($ 124.95)

1901 Stevens Waterproof Chukka Boot

One of the quiet gems of the sale. Claims to be waterproof, and, oddly enough, they’re made in Italy. Just one review and they say it’s a little more gray than brown in person. Which isn’t a problem for many of us.

John W. Nordstrom Plaid Wool Sport Coat – $ 249.49 ($ 499)

John W. Nordstrom Plaid Wool Sport Coat

From their higher end John W. Nordstrom line. Plaid has a bit of a cold weather look to it, but I can see it being worn in the spring. Made in Mexico.

Selected Homme Colorblock Sneaker – $ 80.98 ($ 135)

Selected Homme Colorblock Sneaker

Not bad for a made in Portugal leather and suede sneaker… that also ships and returns for free.

Tumi Alpha Bravo Aviano Slim Briefcase – $ 300 ($ 375)

Tumi Alpha Bravo Aviano Slim Briefcase

Super sleek and modern but still highly functional. Ballistic nylon and leather. Easily slips over the handle of a rolling suitcase.

Calibrate Modern Trim Fit Car Coat – $ 149.49 ($ 299)

Calibrate Modern Trim Fit Car Coat

From their younger leaning Calibrate brand. So expect it to be a true trim fit made specifically for the slimmer fellas.

Cole Haan Wool GrandPro Tennis Sneaker – $ 64.98 ($ 130)

Cole Haan Wool GrandPro Tennis Sneaker

A combination of old school and new school materials.

Nordstrom Merino Wool Polo Sweater – $ 42.49 ($ 85)

Nordstrom Merino Wool Polo Sweater

The humble polo with long sleeves, and… made in merino! 100% fine merino wool knit. That’s huge. Much more comfortable and breathable compared to cotton which will stick and grab to your skin and soak up any perspiration and hold onto it.

Nordstrom V-Neck Merino Sweaters – $ 39.75 ($ 79.50)

Nordstrom V-Neck Merino Sweaters

And now basic v necks. Seven colors to pick from. After almost 50 reviews, they’re still almost 100% five out of five stars.

Nordstrom Signature Trim Fit Windowpane Wool Sport Coat – $ 359.40 ($ 599)

Nordstrom Signature Trim Fit Windowpane Wool Sport Coat

More made in Italy sportcoats. More of a windowpane forward pattern here. Still trim fit.

Allen Edmonds Renton Chukka Boots – $ 236.98 ($ 395)

Allen Edmonds Renton Chukka Boots

Are these a Nordstrom Exclusive? Seems pretty similar to plain chukkas from AE’s past, but these have that broguing around the heel as well as a studded Dainite sole, standard. Made in the USA and Goodyear welted.

Cole Haan Diamond Quilted Jacket – $ 150 ($ 300)

Cole Haan Diamond Quilted Jacket

Heritage British Sportswear looks… without the mega steep price that usually goes with those brands. Also available in olive.

Nordstrom Cashmere Waffle Knit Crew – $ 124.90 ($ 179)

Nordstrom Cashmere Waffle Knit Crew

An investment, but check out that texture. 100% cashmere too. And Nordstrom just doesn’t cut corners with their in-house branded stuff.

Nordstrom Signature Addison Windowpane Wool Blend Overcoat – $ 479.40 ($ 799)

Nordstrom Signature Addison Windowpane Wool Blend Overcoat

An investment… but that windowpane pattern is something else. Made in Italy too.

Wolverine 1000 Mile Plain Toe Boot in Charcoal

Made in the USA, Goodyear welted, and Horween leather uppers.

Bonobos Plaid Wool Unconstructed Sportcoat – $ 224.98 ($ 450)

Bonobos Plaid Wool Unconstructed Sportcoat

Slim fit. Just quarter lined in the back. And unlike Bonobos, when these are on sale, they aren’t final sale. Hooray for free shipping and free returns.

1901 Rainier Longwing Derby – $ 65.90 ($ 110)

1901 Rainier Longwing Derby

Sole looks a little… thick? Not platform, but not svelte either. Yet sometimes that can work on a longwing. Also available in blue suede here.

Hart Schaffner Marx Sheffield Classic Fit Wool & Cashmere Overcoat – $ 297.49 ($ 595)

Hart Schaffner Marx Sheffield Classic Fit Wool & Cashmere Overcoat

Still plenty of winter left. 90% wool and 10% cashmere here. Really liking that not quite camel, but not medium brown either shade.

Nordstrom Signature Cashmere Socks – $ 29.70 ($ 49.50)

Nordstrom Cashmere Socks

If you or someone you know loves his shoe collection, then he pays attention to his feet. And nothing says appreciating feet quite like cashmere socks.

Nordstrom Auburn Trim Fit Peacoat – $ 199.90 ($ 349)

Nordstrom Auburn Trim Fit Peacoat

Wool blend here: 60% wool, 35% polyester, 5% other fibers. Claims a trim fit though, and it’s a little longer than some other peacoats so it looks like it should cover a sportcoat or suit coat tail?

Nordstrom Leather Driving Gloves – $ 44.75 ($ 89.95)

Nordstrom Leather Driving Gloves

Great for this time of year… if you live in warmer climates. That said, drivers are great for those in-between weather days (and seasons… like Spring and Fall). Also available in black.

Calibrate Wool Blend Bomber Jacket – $ 84.49 ($ 169)

Calibrate Wool Blend Bomber Jacket

It’s poly first, but at least there’s a good amount of wool in the blend: 64% polyester, 33% wool, 3% other fibers. Available in either solid, or HOLY PLAID THAT’S REALLY PLAID.

Cole Haan Quilted Jacket – $ 149.00 ($ 298)

Cole Haan Quilted Jacket

Yes it’s all poly, but boy does it get a lot of things right. The snaps to cinch up the fit. The elbow patches. The hand warmer pockets. The corduroy collar. That’s a lot of jacket for $ 150.

Nordstrom The Rail Tempe Chukka – $ 53.96 ($ 89.95)

Nordstrom The Rail Tempe Chukka

What do you get when you take a $ 90 leather chukka and mark it down to fifty? I’m not sure. But the almost 5/5 star reviews after 17 reviews is encouraging. And hey, if they stink, you can send em’ back for free.

Lamarque Diamond Quilted Leather Jacket – $ 418 ($ 625)

Lamarque Diamond Quilted Leather Jacket

I’m not a leather jacket guy myself, but… if I was? That’d be the jacket. That quilting. Great googly moogly.

Marc New York Humboldt Quilted Jacket – $ 117.25 ($ 175)

Marc New York Humboldt Quilted Jacket

A standard quilted jacket with a surprise inside. Extra insulated thanks to a high-pile fleece liner vest that’s also detachable. Too hot one day? You can ditch it until the temps drop further.

Nordstrom Cashmere Lined Perforated Deerskin Gloves – $ 44.75 ($ 89.50)

Nordstrom Cashmere Lined Perforated Deerskin Gloves

More coverage than a standard driver, and these are lined in cashmere.

Good Man Brand Twill Quilted Slim Fit Shirt Jacket – $ 136.80 ($ 228)

Good Man Brand Twill Quilted Slim Fit Shirt Jacket

Cotton here, but that texture and the snaps/pocket placement/collar all make for a really unique looking medium to light jacket.

UGG Halfstein Plain Toe Waterproof Boot – $ 112.90 ($ 190)

UGG Halfstein Plain Toe Waterproof Boot

There are worse looking ways to get through the slush and snow. Surprised they’re priced this low, being that UGG seems to be something of a brand that likes to mark their stuff up. Full grain leather uppers too.

John W. Nordstrom Houndstooth Wool Sport Coat – $ 249.49 ($ 499)

John W. Nordstrom Houndstooth Wool Sport Coat

Oooh. Hello. Burgundy. That’ll do. And from their upgraded, nicer than you’d expect line, John W. Nordstrom.

Nordstrom Merino Wool Blend Thermal Henley – $ 44.75 ($ 89.50)

Nordstrom Merino Wool Blend Thermal Henley

More Nordstrom house brand goodness. 50% merino, 50% acrylic. Can’t speak for these, yet, but I’m a big fan of merino and merino blend henleys. And thus, have a couple on the way.

1901 Jackson Extra Trim Fit Wool Overcoat – $ 209.40 ($ 349)

1901 Jackson Extra Trim Fit Wool Overcoat

With that famous shoe compartment. Liking the color contrast here.

Marc New York Fletcher Quilted Bomber Jacket – $ 105 ($ 175)

Marc New York Fletcher Quilted Bomber Jacket

Quilted jacket #2365 from this sale… but… this one is a bomber. Complete with bomber collar, cuffs, and hem, as well as the zippered pocket on the sleeve.

L.B.M 1911 Classic Fit Cotton & Wool Sport Coat in Blue or Green – $ 476.98 ($ 795)

L.B.M 1911 Classic Fit Cotton & Wool Sport Coat

Spendy. But worth a mention for the #menswear nerds out there, since it seems those types seem to really, really like the L.B.M. brand and what they offer.

Billy Reid Eastwood Wool Blend Jacket – $ 176.98 ($ 295)

Billy Reid Eastwood Wool Blend Jacket

Wait, it’s wool? Well, at least wool blend. 65% wool, 35% nylon. And Billy Reid makes really, really nice stuff.

The Rail Edward Chelsea Boot in Chestnut or Gray – $ 65.98 ($ 110)

The Rail Edward Chelsea

Inexpensive. Very inexpensive. And that’s not a bad thing if you’re curious about chelseas but don’t want to drop a ton of cash on a pair for fear of them not “working.” Should go great with jeans. And they ship back for free in case they arrive and you decide they’re a no-go.

The Rail Quilted Nylon Trucker Jacket – $ 59.40 ($ 99)

The Rail Quilted Nylon Trucker Jacket

Cheap! And the use of both vertical and horizontal stitches to make the quilted exterior is a nice call.

1901 Columbia Chukka Sneaker – $ 62.49 ($ 125)

1901 Columbia Chukka Sneaker

A hybrid. Not all hybrids look… natural? Some of them look kinda Frankenstein-y. Not here. And the price is solid too.

John W. Nordstrom Mason Herringbone Wool & Cashmere Overcoat – $ 359.40 ($ 599)

John W. Nordstrom Mason Herringbone Wool & Cashmere Overcoat

Subtle, but should stand out a bit thanks to the herringbone pattern to the fabric. 95% wool and 5% cashmere exterior.

Polo RL Deerskin Gloves – $ 74.98 ($ 125)

Polo RL Deerskin Gloves

More on-sale gloves. Deerskin here. Still smart-phone touch screen compatible. Adjustable wrist strap. Lined.

Made in Italy TBNY Double Monk in Leather or Suede – $ 196.90 ($ 395)

Made in Italy TBNY Double Monk

Well those are awfully handsome. Perfect, timeless toe shape. Subtle cap toe. And the buckles are slightly rounded at the corners. No sharp edges there. Slim rubber sole for traction.

Nordstrom Trim Fit Flat Front Stretch Wool Trousers – $ 77.40 ($ 129)

Nordstrom Trim Fit Flat Front Stretch Wool Trousers

Check out that burgundy option. Un-hemmed, so, you’ll need to have a tailor shorten them to your specified preferred break. Trim fit. Flat front.

Nordstrom Trim Fit Flat Front Stretch Wool Pants – $ 49.75 ($ 99.50)

Nordstrom Trim Fit Flat Front Stretch Wool Pants

Or… there’s these. Plaid. And noticeably less expensive. Still unfinished hem. 97% wool / 3% spandex.

1901 Renton Suede Bluchers – $ 69.90 ($ 109.95)

1901 Renton Suede Bluchers

Inexpensive suede bluchers that’ll look great with all sorts of smart-casual or business casual wear.

Vince Camuto Melton Car Coat with Removable Bib – $ 129.90 ($ 198)

Vince Camuto Melton Car Coat with Removable Bib

That could be a LOT of coat for $ 130. And the key is that the bib is removable. I’ve never understood otherwise refined looking topcoats with a fixed, non-removable bib/fake layer. Thankfully, that’s NOT the case here.

Jack Mason 40mm Racing Chrono – $ 164.98 ($ 275)

Jack Mason 40mm Racing Chrono

Fast looks but a not super expensive price. Not from a heritage watchmaker, but a fashion brand. Yet it’s a fashion brand that can make some good looking watches if you like the busy thing.

1901 Kent Chukka Boot – $ 74.90 ($ 125)

1901 Kent Chukka Boot

Gray! Suede! Chukkas! It’s like they’ve been reading this site (I’m guessing they haven’t, but hey, that’s cool too).

1901 Lightweight Chore Jacket – $ 71.40 ($ 119)

1901 Lightweight Chore Jacket

Shades of J. Crew’s cotton chore jacket… only this one isn’t almost always perpetually sold out, AND it ships and returns for free.

Good Man Brand Mix Modern Slim Fit Wool Sweater – $ 118.80 ($ 198)

Good Man Brand Mix Modern Slim Fit Wool Sweater

Another modern design made from heritage materials from Good Man Brand. All merino here. Two colorways to pick from.

Rodd & Gunn Regular Fit Sport Coat – $ 198.98 ($ 398)

Wool blend. But zoom in and it almost looks like a corduroy? Or maybe a knit? 42% wool, 40% polyester, 18% polyamide.

Made in Italy Monte Rosso Montreux Wingtip Boot – $ 174.98 ($ 350)

Monte Rosso Montreux Wingtip Boot

The not as fortunate man’s Dalton? Plus these come with traction on the sole, standard. Uppers also claim to be water resistant.

Cole Haan ‘Warren’ Wingtip – $ 99.90 ($ 200)

Cole Haan 'Warren' Wingtip

Kinda liking that “copper” leather. Looks matte and marbled. A casual wingtip for sure. Not gonna be dressed too far up, but should look pretty good with jeans and a sportcoat or OCBD/sweater combo?

Billy Reid Regular Fit Mouline Cardigan – $ 97.50 ($ 195)

70% cotton and 30% poly, so… luxury sweats? Is that a thing? Two colors.

Reebok Revenge Plus Sneaker – $ 50.96 ($ 84.95)

Shades of the Nike Killshot. Maybe. A little. More Killshot alternatives can be found here.

Flynt Regular Fit Knit Wool Blend Sport Coat in Port or Blue – $ 318.75 ($ 425)

Somewhat similar to BR’s outstanding Italian wool knit sportcoat. 55% wool / 45% poly here for the Flynt option. Frankly, I’d go with the BR.

Cole Haan Harrison Grand Cap Toe Oxford – $ 129.90 ($ 220)

Entry level dress shoes. True oxfords with a cap toe. Probably won’t last you a lifetime, but with reasonable care, should last you a while. Well reviewed.

Ted Baker Berman Faux Leather Duffel Bag – $ 89.40 ($ 149)

Speaking of probably not gonna last you a lifetime, but could do right by you with reasonable precautions… Sporty stripe. 19″W x 11″H x 9″D = 1,881 cubic inches. So not the biggest thing.

Michael Kors Wool Blend Peacoat – $ 99.90 ($ 350)

Michael Kors Wool Blend Peacoat

Good grief… 400 reviews, and it’s north of 4/5 stars. That’s impressive. 60% wool. Four colors to pick from including navy (which isn’t shown above).

Cole Haan Jefferson Waterproof Wholecut Oxford – $ 129.99 ($ 300)

Cole Haan Jefferson Waterproof Wholecut Oxford

Cole Haans for $ 300? Nah. But for $ 130, and they can be go-tos on crap weather days since they’re water proof? Yes please. They look a little thick in the britches, but that might come in handy when the weather is being terrible. Also available in black.

Nordstrom Tech-Smart Trim Fit Stretch Check Dress Shirt – $ 34.75 ($ 69.50)

Nordstrom Tech-Smart Trim Fit Stretch Check Dress Shirt

Basic dress shirts that have some technology woven in for stretch and breathability. Lots of colors, but sizes are pretty scattered.

Cole Haan Tyler Chukka Boot – $ 149.90 ($ 250)

Cole Haan Tyler Chukka Boot

Yes, Cole Haans are overpriced at full retail. But this isn’t full retail. Lots of positive reviews on the Nordstrom site too.

Berle Wool Flat Front Windowpane Wool Trousers in Gray or Blue – $ 129.98 ($ 215)

Berle Wool Flat Front Windowpane Wool Trousers

So these are loud. Real loud. And not the slimmest cut. But if you’re a risk taker and have some meat on your bones… just keep the rest of your outfit pretty calm, right?

Cole Haan Original Grand Wingtip – $ 74.98 ($ 150)

Cole Haan Original Grand Wingtip

Some people love these things. Some think they’re an abomination. I ain’t judging. At least, not this time.

Nordstrom Signature 100% Cashmere Overcoat – $ 599.49 ($ 1199)

Hey big spender. I mean, that’s a lot of cash. But that’s a lot of goat combing too. 100% cashmere and made in Italy.

Well I don’t know about you dear Reader, but I’m exhausted after all that. Did we miss something? Send anything that you think belongs in our picks from this monster half-yearly sale to: joe@dappered.com

The Top 10 Movies of 2018: Erik’s Picks

The Top 10 Movies of 2018: Erik's Picks

Whenever it comes to forming a list of my favorite films of the year, I always think long and hard about the stories that affected me the most. What moved me? What shook me? What scared me? What made me laugh uncontrollably? What did I connect with the most, personally, and what films entered my life at a time when I really needed it the most?

When this year’s list began to materialize, I noticed a lot of the films had something in common: they were about coming of age, and they…

The 10 Best Films of 2018: Brian’s Picks

The 10 Best Films of 2018: Brian's Picks

2018 was a supremely interesting film year. Following #MeToo and a few years after #OscarSoWhite, Hollywood’s stories and hiring practices finally started to shift toward making more films centering on and made by women and people of color. Most of the best films of the year represented more access to filmmaking by those groups and cinema is better for it. Most of my runner-ups also fall into this category, and indeed cutting off at the 10-spot was the hardest thing to do because I could…

Cavs’ Kyle Korver traded to Jazz for Alec Burks, 2 second-round picks

The Cleveland Cavaliers have traded guard Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz for guard Alec Burks and two future second-round picks, league sources told ESPN. The Jazz (9-12) have been determined to thrust themselves out of an early-season malaise and pursued Korver to deepen their ability to spread the floor with their shooting. Korver, 37, has been one of the most pursued available players on the trade market. Utah is sending 2020 and 2021 second-round picks to Cleveland, league sources said. The 2021 pick is via the Washington Wizards. The Cavaliers have been shopping Korver and guard JR Smith, who recently left the team. There had been significant interest in Korver among multiple contenders. Korver had 22 points on 6-of-9 3-point shooting in a recent loss to the  Minnesota Timberwolves. He had been eager to be moved to a contender. The Cavaliers are in asset-acquisition mode, starting the season 4-15. Burks,…

BEST DEAL UPDATE:

Black Friday 2018 Deals for Men + Picks

NOTE: We’ll be updating as more sales roll in/deals change. So check back. Black Friday. A mess in person, but thanks to the explosion of e-commerce, you can hunker down at home while avoiding the crush of humanity at all the brick & mortar stores. Cyber Monday? Still also worth paying attention to, and we’ll have a post for that coming up next week. There’s been even more Black Friday “creep” this year, with MANY of these deals launching pre-Thanksgiving (and thus, why this is getting an early launch).  Picks are scattered about when something was too good not to specifically mention. Got a tip on an extra good Black Friday Sale? Send those in to joe@dappered.com.

Banana Republic: 50% Off Reg. Priced Items, no BR Merch exclusions

Banana Republic

No code needed here. But? If you’re a card member? You should be able to knock an extra 10% off at checkout with the code BRCARD. Only limitation is that it has to be regular price (no 3rd party either if I’m not mistaken). More picks here if you want em’.

J. Crew: 40% off most Reg. + Extra 40% off Sale w/ TOGETHER

J. Crew

In case you missed the launch of this on Monday. About as good as it has gotten for J. Crew in a good long while. A few new picks above. One of the best sales J. Crew has run in recent memory. Even most of their suits are getting the 40% off cut. Works on sale items too.

Spier & Mackay: 20% off Everything (including sale & bundle)  w/ BF2018

Wait, everything? Just about. Only exclusions are MTM suits, which are in store only, and they’re offering a 10% off discount on those. So that means their new Goodyear Welted shoes are no sale. Hot damn. Big thanks to Simon Q. for the tip!

Huckberry: Black Friday Events / Select Item Sales

Huckberry

As a recovering Scout, I absolutely love Huckberry. Well made gear with lots of outdoor uses but great looking all at the same time. And their select Black Friday deals are pretty sweet. Those Flint and Tinder shells? Made in the USA. Same with those Chippewa boots too of course.

Nordstrom: Up to 60% off select items

And it all ships and returns for free, being that it’s Nordstrom. Lots of the same stuff that was in the previous fall sale, but some new items in there as well. Pretty solid price cuts on cold weather stuff like (nice looking!) coats, gloves, scarves, etc.

J.C.F.: 40% – 50% off your purchase w/ ADD2CART

Looks like there’s hardly any exclusions to this code. UPDATE: Suiting is now excluded. Wasn’t on Wednesday, is now. Drat.

FormFunctionForm: 25% off w/ NoShameInFinishingEarly

Form Function Form

Fine. Leather. Goods. Treat yo self! Form Function Form balances, beautifully, the luxury of high quality leather with rugged construction and the value that comes with being made by hand here in the USA. For those who like to stay organized, carry business cards at all times, and also take a note or two on the go, check out the Field Rep Wallet. Discount is good through Cyber Monday, the 26th.

Target: Up To 50% off Select Clothes/Shoes/Accessories

Now’s a good time to get your Goodfellow & Co on. Good grief, (up to) half off their already super affordable Goodfellow line? Not EVERYTHING is getting the cut, but a lot is. Head here for a more complete rundown of what Target’s Goodfellow & Co is offering this season.

Target: Black Friday Select Doorbusters

Okay, not exactly our wheelhouse, but big thanks to Brandon D. for the tip on this. Of which he said: “This one is actually pretty good. Especially this Instant Pot, normally $ 100, now $ 70 AND they give you a $ 10 Target gift card. I have the Lux version (the most basic – the Duo is better), and it’s fantastic for cooking for up to 4 people. And if you don’t know what to cook, use that gift card to buy this book!” And as an owner of a cordless Dyson stick vacuum, I can say those things will change your life. Especially if you have pets. Who cares if it’s fuschia. It’s $ 110 off. Also, those wireless beats just got a mention by the Blue Stones the other day. This one is more of a Dappered Space alert, but still. And don’t forget, everything is now getting fast and free two day shipping now, no sign up or membership required.

Ledbury: 35% off Shirts w/ THANKFUL35

Dappered.com

Dappered exclusive code has expired. Onto the non-exclusive code THANKFUL35. Code expires on Friday, and then I believe the discount starts to shrink a bit over the weekend. Yes, $ 95 is a lot for a dress shirt. But they really are incredible. Terrific fabrics, GREAT collars (and that lowered second button), and they’re quite durable. They make much, much more than just white and light blue shirts, so check out the full range, but you’d be in great company to stock a closet with a few of their white and light blue fine twills.

Bonobos: 25% off of $ 150, 30% off $ 250+ w/ DEALWEEK

Bonobos

NOTE: Customer Service Ninjas are telling people that Cyber Monday will be 35% off sitewide. No thresholds. So unless you need something ASAP or you’re worried about something going out of stock, might be best to hold off.

So the threshold is pretty high, but it’s Bonobos. Everything is expensive. But 30% off is pretty rare for them. Code runs clear through Sunday.

Allen Edmonds: Select “Classics” Black Friday Savings

Allen Edmonds

Under $ 300 for wheelhouse, first quality heritage-collection AEs is not a bad deal at all. Just the Carlyle and McAllister getting that cut down to $ 295. But lots of other models from their still made in Port Washington collection are getting nice discounts for the big shopping weekend.

EXPRESS: 50% off Everything + Free Shipping No Min.

Express

Well that’s awfully kind. Half off and free shipping? Express doesn’t appeal to everyone, but they do make some more toned down/less flashy designs.  Plus… can’t think of a place I’d rather not be in the world of retail than an EXPRESS store in a mall on Black Friday. Enough to drive you batty. Prices are as marked online. No code needed here.

Club Monaco: 25% off $ 150 30% off $ 250 35% off $ 400 w/ CMBLACKFRIDAY18

Club Monaco

That is very, very kind of Club Monaco to do. Those Liverpool Chelseas from Allen Edmonds really are something. Full review of those can be found here. All made in the USA picks shown above.

GAP: 50% off Everything w/ BLKFRIDAY

GAP

Half off, no exclusions, PLUS they’re doing even bigger discounts with some of their online “doorbusters.” Like that wool blend trapper hat. How one busts a door on the internet, I’ll never know.

OrientWatchUSA: Up to 40% off sitewide + Extra 15% off w/ HOLIDAY18

Hey there. That’s something. Looks like Orient has put their retail prices back to where they were before they did away with codes and promos? But here we have a promo, and a code. I understand nothing. BUT, I do know that under $ 300 for the Polaris and mid $ 200s for the Mako USA is pretty darn good. Big thanks to Alex K. for the tip!!

Lands’ End: 50% off Full Price w/ TURKEY & 4789

Lands' End

Lands’ End is dependable. Not flashy. But good. Their cashmere is surprisingly nice. And those moleskin 5-pockets are something of a legend around these parts. Note that this code and pin is good for today and today only, but they’ll be rolling through MULTIPLE half off (full price) codes over the next few days.

Best Made Co: at least 25% off select items

Best Made Co.

Spendy stuff, but the quality is there. Warning… splurge territory ahead.

UNIQLO: $ 10 off Ultra Light Down, select other deals, & Free Shipping No Min

Dappered.com

Was $ 49.90 – $ 79.90, now ten bucks off. Seems like UNIQLO is gonna slow roll their deals out this year?

C. Tyrwhitt: Take 25% off Sitewide plus Free Ship. w/ SHOWTIMECT

Charles Tyrwhitt

25% off a full priced Charles Tyrwhitt shirt isn’t much. This we know. But CT does a LOT more than just shirts. And the free shipping is nice too, being that it all ships from the UK. Head here for a review on those suede wholecutsUPDATE: Turns out that this deal stacks with their multi-buy shirt deal, so instead of four shirts for $ 200, it’s now four shirts for $ 150. Not bad at all! And thanks to Bryce L. for the tip!

Todd Snyder: 25% off select w/ BLACKFRIDAY

Works on Todd Snyder, Todd Snyder+Champion, Corgi, New Balance, New Era, Timex and Vans. Excludes the Peanuts + Champion Collection and all other Third Party Brands. So there are exclusions lurking out there. And yes, it’s Todd Snyder, so things are pricey even with a discount.

Brooks Brothers: 4 Select Shirts for $ 199

Not the most tongue wagging deal of the day, but will certainly appeal to some. If you’re a fan of the Brooks Brothers non iron dress shirt lineup, then now’s not a bad time to stock up. But, it’s gotta be from their selection of shirts.

Also Worth a Mention:

  • DSW: 20% off everything w/ STAYCALM (some brand exclusions may apply)
  • The Tie Bar: Free socks with purchase of at least $ 40. Promo Code NORTHPOLE

Week 11 DFS Values and Picks: David Johnson is Back

The Cardinals finally used David Johnson like he was David Johnson in Week 10, with the back totaling 183 yards and two touchdowns on 28 touches. With that sort of volume now a given, he’s back to being one of the best fantasy players in the league. DFS sites haven’t caught up yet, though, making him a prime value in Week 11.

Extra 40% off Bonobos Sale, East Dane Sale Picks, & More – The Thurs. Men’s Sales Handful

Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend or a bit earlier. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up these handfuls. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below, plus bonus sales if need be. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.

UPDATE: The calendar flips to November and everyone loses their friggin’ minds. LOTS of updates below in case you’re checking back in from early this morning. It’s one of the better handfuls in recent memory to be honest…

Bonobos: Extra 40% off Sale Items w/ GHOULS

Bonobos

The Bonobos sale section has been real picked over for a while now. So a fresh injection of some new stock, to said sale section, is welcome. And now it’s an extra 40% off, no need to lean on the lesser 20% off code (ECLIPSE20.) Use that GHOULS for an extra 40% off.

Target Black Friday Select Deals Preview (exp today, 11/1)

Expires today, so, hop to it.

Spier & Mack: Italian Flannel Sportcoat Sale – $ 249 ($ 328)

Almost $ 80 off? That’s… a really nice price for an Italian flannel, half canvas sportcoat. Plus, you can add pants (not on sale) for $ 138 and make it a suit for $ 387. Available in navy, light gray, and medium gray.

Massdrop: Orient Bambinos – $ 109.99 – $ 124.99 FINAL

Orient Bambino

Plenty of different Bambino styles to pick from. Still final sale of course. Estimated ship date is December 3rd. Lots of style variations to pick from, some of which are an extra $ 10 – $ 15 at checkout. No small seconds this time which is kind of a bummer.

Massdrop: Glycine Combat Vintage Automatic Watch – $ 279.99 FINAL

Glycine Combat Vintage Automatic Watch

Swiss made, automatic movement, 100m water resistance, and timeless vintage military looks. Comes with a two year manufacturer’s warranty. Crystal is a domed “hesalite,” which is probably an intentional choice being that these are vintage inspired. It’s plastic, but scratches can be buffed out. Like the crystals on the original Omega moon watches. Goes for $ 320 over at Jomashop, so, some savings, but these are final sale since it’s Massdrop doing the selling. Estimated ship date is November 26th.

BONUS  Suitsupply: Future Outlet Item?

Suitsupply

Suitsupply just released a new line from their fancy pants “Jort” collection, and, well, I don’t know how many of these things they made, but, if there’s more than a handful, I can see these ending up in the outlet post holidays. I… I got nothin’ fellas.

BONUS II Banana Republic: 50% off F&F Sale

In case you missed it… but… pretty sure not many of you did. Still, one of the better sales that they run. Didn’t get a personalized code in your email? Text Family to 89532 and you should get one back from BR. But pretty sure you’re opting into their promotional texts at that point. If you’re a cardmember, use BRCARD for an extra 10% off at checkout. If your purchase is north of $ 100? Use BRSHIP for free 3-5 day shipping. Full picks can be found here.

BONUS III  East Dane: Up to 40% off Surprise Sale

East Dane

So while East Dane can be a great place to pick up Loakes or the odd Billy Reid Peacoat on sale, there’s also a lot of weird (and expensive) stuff over there. As evidenced by the picks above. Those were the least weird/expensive stuff that I could find.

Stormy Daniels Picks Trump’s Tiny ‘Mushroom’ Penis From a Lineup on Kimmel

ABC

The last time Stormy Daniels appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, he grilled her about how big Donald Trump’s “junk” is. At the time, she refused to get into specifics. Perhaps she was afraid of legal action by the president. Or she was just saving it for her book.

On Tuesday night, the same day her new tell-all Full Disclosure went on sale, Daniels returned to Jimmy Kimmel Live! Since her last appearance, Daniels told Kimmel she has “less beeps to give.” Whereas before she carefully calibrated every word that came out of her mouth, this time she did not hesitate to talk in detail about her first night with Trump. Kimmel’s first guest Sarah Paulson was so excited she stayed on stage to watch.

“I thought he was channeling Hugh Hefner, but significantly less sexy,” she said of Trump’s pajamas druing their alleged encounter. “He followed orders much better back then,” Daniels said, joking that she would have to “speak in Russian” to get him to do anything now. She even acted out the moment in which she spanked him with a magazine that had his face on the cover with Kimmel, using her new book of course.
