Behind the Scenes of ‘Toy Story 4’: A Pixar Playdate

A while back I had the opportunity to visit Pixar Studios in Emeryville, CA for the Toy Story 4 Long Lead Press Day, which consisted of presentations, interviews, tours and, of course, arts and crafts. Also included, coming to terms with the fact that I spent a good chunk of my kids’ inheritance on gift shop swag, most of which they’ll quickly outgrow.

Life is full of hard decisions.

Thankfully, being wowed by the Pixar experience isn’t one of them. The minute you enter…

Russo Brothers Explain Why ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Didn’t Include Any Post-Credit Scenes

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were heartbroken when they found out that Avengers: Endgame would not include a post-credit scene. After a decade long ride, which included 22 films, this marked the first picture of the franchise to go without one…although there was a brief audio stinger at the very end of the roll.

Now the Russo Brothers, the duo masterminds behind the film, have officially explained why they decided to leave out the post-credit scene, something that has become somewhat synonymous with the MCU since 2008’s Iron Man.

Sitting down with USA TODAY Joe Russo stated, “It was never in the cards. It was called Endgame for a reason. This is it. This is the ending. The book is closed on that chapter of the Marvel universe and a new book will get written.” Anthony also added, “This was the first Marvel movie we’ve done where we weren’t thinking about the future.” He then clarified, “There will be a future, of course, but it’s not our responsibility.”

As for the audio sound at the end, “It’s really just an homage [to Iron Man], sort of a little bookend,” Joe explains. “It started it and it ends it.”

Endgame marks the fourth MCU film the brothers have worked on together which started out with 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier followed by 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. Earlier this week the pair confirmed Endgame is their last Marvel film.

Sad that it’s all over for now? These are the movies and shows to look forward to after Avengers: Endgame.

Simon Cowell mocked for being less likeable than David Williams as Britain’s Got Talent judges compete in Weird Crushes game behind the scenes

SIMON Cowell will learn a harsh truth that he’s not as likeable as co-star David Walliams during tonight’s Britain’s Got More Talent.

The BGT judges take a break from filming more show-stopping auditions to play the popular Weird Crushes card game, which features both Simon and David.

The Britain’s Got Talent judges are in hysterics as they play card game, Weird Crushes

The game ranks different male celebrities on their charisma, likeability, sex appeal, style, and fame.

While Simon outranks David on charisma by one point, he is defeated by a large margin on the likeability category.

Initially trying to bluff his way out of it by lying about his score, Simon reluctantly admits he was scored just two points, while David landed a much stronger four.

Co-stars Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon laughed hysterically as the boys tried to prove who was king of the panel.

Tonight’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent will see a knife-throwing act take aim at Simon Cowell, leaving judge Amanda Holden, 48, and the auditions audience gasping in shock.

Andrei admitted: “This was high stakes. It was more dangerous because I didn’t know what Simon would do.

“I know my partner. She knows not to be scared and not to move.

“But I didn’t know if Simon might move. I worried I might leave him seriously injured.

“I had small nerves. I’m a professional, I must be ready and keep my focus.”

Explaining why he took up the challenge Simon, 59, said: “I wanted to feel what it’s like. It is terrifying.”

Judge David Walliams, 47, told Andrei: “You could’ve killed him when you had the chance.”

Britain’s Got Talent returns tonight on ITV at 8pm.

Behind the Scenes: What it Really Takes to Launch a Film Career

Thanks to digital technology and social media, it’s easier than ever to start your filmmaking career. But starting a film career is one thing, growing and maintaining it is another. We asked award-winning filmmaker Adisa Septuri for some actionable tips and advice for creating your own path in the film industry. Here’s Septuri’s advice:

4 Ways to Launch a Film Career

Invest in Yourself and Fail Forward

There’s a tendency to think that because we see lots of people picking up a camera and making films that it’s easy. We live in an instant gratification, YouTube video generation. If you want to excel at a high level, really study the craft, take classes, and watch YouTube videos, which are great but also read books and ask a zillion questions of people already doing it. You don’t necessarily need to go to film school, especially with the exorbitant tuition prices these days. Start making small films and then challenge yourself incrementally. It’s important to take chances and make mistakes in the beginning. My biggest lessons came from making mistakes. The bigger the mistake, the bigger the lesson. By doing this you’ll gain confidence.

Also, don’t rush yourself or feel as if you’re in some kind of race with time or other filmmakers. It will happen to you at the right time. Your main job is to do the work and invest in yourself. If you do that, you will ultimately create an opportunity or you’ll be presented with one.

Connect With Mentors

Find a mentor, it will save you a lot of time and wasted energy. I never really pursued one until much later and I could have really benefited by having one.

Hustle Smart

It took me a long time to get into writing, but besides learning the craft of directing, learning how to write screenplay puts you in a greater position to succeed. It allows you to generate your own material. It will also help you become an even better director. It takes a lot of patience, persistence, and determination to succeed in this business. Find you a hustle where you can pay the bills while you pursue your dream. For me, it was sound mixing. I actually became a union sound mixer. It kept me close to the film set while I pursued my passion of directing. I had to dedicate 10,000 hours to be good at it and it wasn’t always easy and sometimes I felt I was getting nowhere but I kept writing and studying in the meantime and sound mixing kept food on my table and gave me the fortitude to keep going.

Slow Progress is Still Progress

There’s also a tendency to fantasize about coming out the gate and being successful like Ryan Coogler or your first film going to Sundance and getting a big studio deal. I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but that’s not realistic thinking. It only really happens to a very small few. The other 99% of us—myself included—take it day by day and film by film. Hard work is its own reward and it will eventually pay off.

Even if it takes you 15 years after graduating NYU film school like me to make your first feature film. Not everyone is cut out for it, but if you really want it—don’t just do it for the fame, money, or accolades. Those things are nice but I would suggest doing it because you have something to say. Do it because you want to make a difference and because you feel the call to be great and for a purpose. For me, it was a desire to see black images reflected on the screen and to tell the multitude of stories that exist in our community that never get told.

EMPLOYMENT SEARCH UPDATE:

Danny Walters watches saucy EastEnders scenes alone

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Walters watches his saucy ‘EastEnders’ scenes alone – because he doesn’t want his parents or partner to “wind him up” about them.
The former ‘Benidorm’ star’s latest storyline in the BBC One soap has seen his character Keanu Taylor involved in a hot and steamy affair with Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean), but the 25-year-old star “doesn’t take it too well” when his family poke fun at him.
Speaking about his saucy scenes, he said: “I try to watch those alone – as it’s very awkward to watch with my parents or my partner.
“They know I’m playing a character, of course, but they also know not to wind me up because I don’t take it too well.
“I don’t always watch my stuff because I’m my biggest critic. However, I catch up when I can.”
Danny and Letitia have become “great friends” as their characters’ romance scenes have “got more intimate”, and he believes it is important to have plenty of trust when filming such personal segments.
He added: “We’d only had the odd scene together before, so this was my first opportunity to get to know her better.
“As the scenes have got more intimate, we’ve grown as friends, and that’s really important, to have that trust between fellow actors.
“We’re great friends now, and that helps for any worries or anxieties we might have. She knows what she’s doing, and we’re both feeling really comfortable.”
While Danny hadn’t acted alongside the 50-year-old soap veteran much when he was initially handed the plot, he was confident the pair would create “great chemistry”.
He told Inside Soap magazine: “Working with Letitia Dean has given me the opportunity to learn a lot – but it’s also meant that we’ve been able to make an amazing storyline together.
“I knew Letitia and I would create great chemistry on camera – and we have.”
