Leslie Jones Screaming at Game of Thrones With Seth Meyers Is the Watch Party to Be at Right Now

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Game of Thrones.

When it comes to watching Game of Thrones some fans prefer to watch in rapt silence. Leslie Jones is not one of those people. The Saturday Night Live star returned to Late Night with Seth Meyers on Thursday night to indulge in what appears to be her favorite past time—screaming at Game of Thrones while explaining all the drama to Seth Meyers.

“I never thought I’d be this nerdy,” Jones admitted as the episode opens. She then proceeded to react loudly at the appearance of each character, shouting out light spoilers about the relationship between Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow. When Meyers tells Jones that he heard that some fans thought the eighth season’s premiere episode was a little bit boring, she brushes it off. “Blasphemy,” she says, explaining that true fans know that “this is a transition episode.”

When Jones cheered on Daenerys’ and her bond with her dragons, Meyers admitted to Jones that he would be a little scared if she ever owned her own dragon. “There’s no one I’d rather have a dragon than you, but I also would not trust you with one,” he told her. Jones was not offended, but instead wholeheartedly Jones agreed: “You better never trust me with a dragon. They shoot fire and fly? That means I’m doing drivebys every weekend!”

Of course, as this is the final season of the HBO series and fans will have to find something new to watch and Meyers wanted to know what Jones had planned. “What are you going to do when it’s over?” Meyers asked her as the episode drew to a close. “I’m gonna make my own Game of Thrones,” Jones replied. “I’m gonna play all of ’em. I’ll play the Night King.”

Seth Meyers Sounds Off on Sarah Huckabee Sanders for Calling Congress Dumb: ‘She’s Trolling Us’

NBC

When President Trump isn’t refusing to release his tax returns because of “a fake audit that definitely does not exist,” as Seth Meyers put it Monday night, he has started to suggest that they will simply be too complicated for members of Congress to comprehend.

Now, the Late Night host added, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has taken that argument “one step further,” telling Fox News host Chris Wallace over the weekend that “this group of congressmen and women” are not “smart enough to look through the thousands of pages that I would assume that President Trump’s taxes will be.”

“OK, now this is what she wants. She’s trolling us,” Meyers said. “She wants us to get all mad and riled up and point out all the ways that Trump is actually the idiot, because that’s their only move, to just take whatever we say about Trump and turn it back on us. And we’re just too dignified for that, we will not stoop to her level, and I’m just kidding, here’s a bunch of dumb shit the president has said and done.”

Seth Meyers: Jim Jordan and Republicans ‘Embarrassed Themselves’ at Cohen Hearing

Nine hours of testimony from Michael Cohen meant an extra long “A Closer Look” from Seth Meyers Wednesday night. The Late Night host spent more than 15 minutes going deep on the hearing, beginning with GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz’s blatant threats against Cohen the night before.

“I didn’t think anyone could out-sleaze Donald Trump, but you did it, my friend,” Meyers told Gaetz. “You are trying to intimidate a witness on Twitter. What’s next, are you going to Instagram a picture of a brick with the caption, ‘About to throw this through your window?’”

Moving on to Cohen’s testimony itself, Meyers played a highlight reel from the former Trump fixer’s opening statement before noting, “Damn, he just listed off a bunch of alleged crimes committed by the president on national TV. You know it’s so ironic, Trump finally went to Vietnam and he’s getting killed back home.”

Seth Meyers Mocks Trump’s Fast Food Feast with Clemson Football Players

Seth Meyers spent most of his first “A Closer Look” segment of the week going through the latest revelations about Trump and Russia. But before he got there, he couldn’t help but spend just a few minutes on the fast food feast the president had with the Clemson University football champions at the White House Monday night.

While Trump’s government shutdown has driven federal workers to show up at food banks by the hundreds, “that’s not the food Trump was concerned with today,” the Late Night host explained.

Early in the day, Trump told reporters that he would be serving the team “McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger Kings with some pizza,” adding, “I would think that’s their favorite food.”

Seth Meyers Calls Out Trump After Mail Bombs: ‘The President’s Words Matter’

NBC

On Wednesday, CNN’s building had to be evacuated in New York after a pipe bomb addressed to former CIA chief John Brennan (in reality, an MSNBC contributor) and the news network was found in the mail.

Brennan, an outspoken critic of President Trump, was one of several targets of the president’s ire to receive an explosive device in the mail—including CNN, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack and Michelle Obama, former attorney general Eric Holder, Rep. Maxine Waters, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Dem megadonor George Soros. (Trump’s media allies, rather predictably, pushed insane conspiracy theories about this being a liberal plot—to bomb themselves—ahead of the midterms.)

“Now, we obviously don’t know yet who sent these bombs, and it’s important to let law enforcement conduct an investigation,” said Seth Meyers on Wednesday’s Late Night. “In fact, the only thing we do know so far is that whoever did this is not only a horrible person, but a moron—because they tried to list the address of Florida congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz as the return address, but on the envelope they spelled it ‘Florids.’ Well, that narrows it down to anyone who still doesn’t have spellcheck. What did they write that with, Microsoft Word 87? Even Clippy would have caught that!”
