How to Get a $10 Gift Card to Target This Week If You Live in California

Have you ever heard of getting paid to save energy?

Earning cash when you switch off the lights, unplug the TV and pause the laundry cycle for a few hours each week?

It sounds too good to true, but it’s possible with OhmConnect, an energy-saving program for Californians.

Still not convinced? We talked with John Hastie, a San Diego resident who has earned up to $ 487 a month through the platform. Then there’s Tanya Williams, a stay-at-home mom who earned an extra $ 1,700 in 2017. She turned saving energy into a game with her kids.

So now you’re wondering: How does OhmConnect work? Can I just turn off my lights right now and make some money? Not exactly, but it’s almost that simple.

Here’s how you’ll get started:

  1. Sign up for a free OhmConnect account and sync it with your online utility account though Pacific Gas & Electric Co., San Diego Gas & Electric or Southern California Edison.
  2. Once or twice a week, you’ll receive a text message to participate in an #OhmHour, an hour of reduced energy consumption. Turn down unnecessary lights, hold off on doing the laundry or the dishes, and opt for a fan instead of the A/C. It’s the perfect time to go outside, play games on your phone, or go to the movies.
  3. OhmConnect then pays you for reducing your electricity consumption during #OhmHours.

So… why is OhmConnect willing to pay you?

OhmHours typically occur during times of peak energy usage (think: weekday evenings when everyone’s getting home from work). Rather than tapping into expensive (and dirty!) peaker plants (basically back-up plants for high-demand hours), utility companies offer an incentive to customers who cut back on energy consumption.

The money the utility company saves by avoiding these peaker plants is passed back to you, the customer, who so diligently saved during that high-demand time.

Your earnings are based on how much power you save. The more you save, the higher your OhmConnect status, which helps you earn even more.

To date, OhmConnect has paid its users $ 9 million.

Oh, and here’s a little bonus to get you started: Right now, OhmConnect is handing out $ 10 Target e-gift cards after you connect the service with one of the previously mentioned utility accounts.

(OhmConnect estimates the process typically takes less than two days.)

Once you’re approved, you can start earning points, for your energy savings, which translate to cash. In about two days, you’ll receive your Target e-gift card via email.

Not only are you helping save the world, you’re also earning some money along the way!

Beyoncé Planning To Shop At Target ‘More Often’ After Unexpected Appearance There – Here’s Why!

Fans were surprised to see none other than Beyonce being relatable by shopping at Target. However, one source tells HollywoodLife that she is not planning her affordable shopping spree to be a one-time thing.

According to the insider, Bey has not only been to the department store before, she is totally willing to repeat the experience in the future too!

‘She likes doing what everyone finds regular because she wants to do regular things herself from time to time. It can’t always be glitz and glamour,’ the source went on to explain for the news outlet.

Apparently, going to places like Target means something special for the superstar.

‘It makes Beyoncé feel normal doing normal things like shopping at Target. She actually would love to do more of it. She misses regular life sometimes and it keeps her grounded. To be connected to real life is something that Beyoncé cherishes so chances are we will see her out and about again just living her life.’

So who knows? Maybe next time you’re out shopping, you might just run into Queen Bey!

When she appeared at that particular Target on Monday, Beyonce was not alone!

Her firstborn, daughter Blue Ivy was with her as well, and that makes sense since previous insider reports have claimed she wants to raise her young ones in an as normal as possible environment as well.

Still, people were shocked to meet the artist at Target, and even fellow celebs reacted to it, Chrissy Teigen having a very funny comment on the whole thing.

‘Beyonce you are so silly, I can just send you my new knives!!’ she jokingly tweeted after the news spread.

Target Offers Two-Day Shipping With No Minimums For Holiday

(AP Photo)

NEW YORK (AP) — Target will be offering for the first time two-day shipping with no minimum purchase this holiday, raising the stakes in the delivery wars during the busiest shopping season of the year.

The offer, announced Tuesday, will start Nov. 1 and end Dec. 22. It’s part of the retailer’s overall strategy to bolster its delivery services from curbside pickup to same-day delivery for customers as it competes with such rivals as Walmart and online leader Amazon.

The move comes as the Minneapolis-based retailer has been reporting strong sales growth both at stores and online, helped in part by its online delivery services as well as its efforts to remodel stores.

“Our approach this holiday is to make it easier for our guests,” Brian Cornell, CEO of Target told reporters at a holiday briefing in Manhattan.

With last year’s $ 550 million acquisition of delivery service Shipt, Target has expanded its same-day delivery of groceries and other merchandise to 200 markets, up from 160 markets in August. It’s also expanding its curbside pickup service to nearly 1,000 stores by the end of this month, ahead of schedule.

Target has been a laggard when it comes to two-day delivery.

In January 2017, Walmart began offering two-day shipping for online purchases over $ 35 on millions of frequently purchased items like household essentials. And with its annual Prime membership of $ 119, Amazon customers receive two-day shipping, along with other perks like movie and music streaming services.

In previous holiday seasons, Target had waived the shipping fee and offered free shipping but there was no time frame. In March, it announced two-day shipping on hundreds of thousands of items for shoppers who spend $ 35 or more.
