Conservative Commentator Tomi Lahren Insulted Cardi B’s Intelligence and Sparked an All-Out Twitter Feud

Rap star Carbi B clapped back at a conservative political commentator who insulted her intelligence on Twitter, launching a viral tete-a-tete.

Cardi B, the first female rapper to have multiple number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, posted a video on Thursday complaining that President Donald Trump had ordered federal employees to work without pay. Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren, who is known for her incendiary style, tweeted sarcastically, “Looks like @iamcardib is the latest political mind to endorse the Democrats! HA!”

Cardi B did not acknowledge Lahren’s message for several days, but continued tweeting political images, including of posters from Saturday’s Women’s March which quoted her.

Then early on Sunday morning, she directly addressed Lahren, tweeting, “Leave me alone, I will dog walk you.”

Cardi B’s response, at the time of this writing, has collected over 500,000 likes and over 100,000 retweets.

A few hours later, Lahren doubled down on insulting the rapper, calling Carbi B’s commentary “moronic.”

Cardi B responded that Lahren is proving her point.

Many of Cardi B’s Twitter followers immediately lined up to support her – including New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who pointed out her and Cardi B’s shared Bronx roots.

Soon afterward, Lahren fired off tweets accusing Cardi B of inciting violence, but other Twitter users responded that she was “playing the victim” when she had actually started the fight.

Cardi B also discussed the controversy live on Instagram on Sunday, saying that she was frustrated that people were judging her based on the way she talks, People reported. She said that she has always enjoyed following politics and enjoys reading about world history.

“A lot of people think I’m dumb, think I’m ghetto because of the way I talk… but just because I’m that it doesn’t make me dumb and one thing I really want y’all to understand about me, I’m a very passionate person when it comes to history and when it comes to political things, and I always been like that,” Cardi B said, according to People.

Cardi B has expressed her love of politics in the past. Last April, she told the magazine GQ, “I love government. I’m obsessed with Presidents. I’m obsessed to know how the system works.”

President Trump Feeds College Football National Champions ‘Hamberders’ and Twitter Can’t Stomach It

The Clemson University football team was invited to the White House Monday to celebrate their College Football National Championship win in a scene that was also a feast for social media users.

The South Carolina team, which defeated the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide 44-16 on Jan. 7, was offered a candelabra-lit spread of takeout food from McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King and Domino’s.

In a since-deleted tweet, the president boasted that the group was served 1,000 “hamberders” at the event that he paid for himself – a spelling error that immediately prompted online snickers. Meanwhile, aides said there were closer to 300 burgers at the event.

The President reportedly paid for the food himself because many of the White House staff are furloughed due to the partial government shutdown, Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley told CNN in a statement.

Trump, who has claimed to be a big fan of fast food himself, told reporters before the event, “We have some very large people that like eating. So I think we’re going to have a little fun.”

Later, Twitter users had more than a little fun with the “hamberders” typo.

Some pointed out that nothing kept the fast food warm as it sat on the tables. While Trump’s critics implied that the junk food was a good metaphor for the President himself.

“This is an incredible self-own for someone who aims to be worth $ 10 billion,” wrote user Judd Legum.

The meal also caught the attention of former NFL running back Reggie Bush, who tweeted that the dinner was “disrespectful on so many levels.”

In a video of the event, the players seem to be enjoying the food. One player loudly says that the food is “awesome.”

“I thought it was a joke,” he adds.

Kanye Reignites Drake Feud On Twitter, Alleges Threats

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kanye West is not sending Christmas cheer to Drake.

West appeared to reignite a feud with the fellow rapper in a series of tweets on Thursday in which he claimed Drake had called trying to threaten him.

West wrote “So drake if anything happens to me or anyone from my family you are the first suspect – So cut the tough talk.”

West alleged Drake was behind audience members rushing the stage and splashing fellow rapper Pusha T with liquid during a concert in Toronto in November.

Drake did not post a response. An email seeking comment was sent to a Drake representative.

The rappers have had an ongoing feud this year, but West had apologized to Drake in September.

Elon Musk Hits Back At ‘60 Minutes’ On Twitter, Of Course

SAUL LOEB

When he was questioned about his use of Twitter in a 60 Minutes interview this week, Tesla founder and chief executive Elon Musk said: “I use my tweets to express myself. Some people use their hair. I use Twitter… Twitter’s a war zone. If somebody’s gonna jump in the warzone, it’s, like, ‘Okay, you’re in the arena. Let’s go!’”

So, they can’t say they weren’t warned.

Musk lived up to his word Tuesday morning, when he used Twitter to criticize the show, after CBS edited a clip from its interview with him to make it appear he had stated he didn’t want to be the carmaker’s chairman again.

Kanye West called out on Twitter for being on his phone during Broadway performance

TwitterFacebook

Being on your phone during a stage production is considered pretty rude, especially if it’s opening night, and even if you’re Kanye West.

The artist was called out on Twitter by one of the stars of Cher-inspired musical The Cher Show, Jarrod Spector, for spending time on his phone during Monday’s opening night performance.

West was attending the show with his wife, Kim Kardashian West, a couple that weren’t ever going to blend in with the crowd — or the cast.

“If you look up from your cell phone you’ll see we’re doing a show up here,” tweeted Spector, who plays Sonny Bono, while the performance was underway. Read more…

This is the most influential person on Twitter (and thankfully it’s not Donald Trump)

He’ll just have to shake it off.

Twitter’s long been the bastion of global discussions, sparking huge conversations with breaking news, silly memes and candid celebrity thoughts (some hilarious and amazing, others Kanye West). Well it turns out there’s a few big names on the platform that wield the most influence over the Twittersphere and new research by a company called Brandwatch revealed who was queen of the social media platform’s hearts. We’ve already given it away slightly, but yes – it turns out a female celeb was the most influential, so congratulations are in order for Taylor Swift.

The study looked at ‘a selection of criteria that added together to create [a celeb’s] influence score’, which took into account things like ‘followers, retweets and replies’ and ‘genuine engagement’. The named celebrity would also get bonus points depending on how influential the people they were engaging with were, so for instance if Chrissy Teigen and Michelle Obama started having a natter then it would bump their score way up.

Taylor Swift’s account @taylorswift13 came in at first place with the top influencer score of 98 and an eye-watering following of 84 million at the time Brandwatch’s study was published.

Besides being the most influential female celeb, she was the most popular of all time tailed closely by Liam Payne (yes, really) at 97.

Liam Payne, whose account @liampayne had a following of 33 million at the time of the study, actually responded to the news – on Twitter, obviously. He screenshotted the research and said, ‘Wow can’t quite believe this. Couldn’t have done it without you….thanks for listening.’

Following closely behind Taylor Swift and Liam Payne were Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian West, Demi Lovato and President Donald J. Trump who shared the same influencer score: 96. Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama slid in neatly behind him with a score of 95 alongside Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, Cristiano Ronaldo amongst others.

There were a few surprising names we expected to be on the list but weren’t, including Twitter’s unofficial monarch Chrissy Teigen and Kanye West whose controversial tweets about slavery sparked a huge debate.

Women also dominated the game as Brandwatch claimed ‘the women in our lists had a higher influencer score than the men’ and especially female musicians. On the flip side, women on the lists were typically younger than the men on the platform with the average age for women being 36.5, nearly 10 years younger than the men’s influential score of 44.7 years old

Pretty wild stuff, hey? We just wish Brandwatch’s research had honed in on which were the most talked about moments of all time as well, as it feels like there have been so many this year. Maybe something to consider for 2019.

The Red Sox Are Celebrating Their World Series Victory By Silencing Everyone Who Doubted Them on Twitter

Not content to win the 2018 World Series, the Red Sox kept their victory lap going on Twitter.

The Boston team may have beat the L.A. Dodgers 5-1 to claim the World Series title in Game 5 Sunday night, but the Red Sox social media account still had more scores to settle on Twitter by Monday morning.

In a series of home run tweets, the account celebrated the World Series victory by clapping back at the peanut gallery, singling out a few non-believers who tweeted their doubts on Opening Day.

“Better luck next year,” one user had written.

“This year seemed to work out okay,” the team fired back, still basking in their glory with an arsenal of casually braggadocious tweets. The epic trolling only got more savage from there.

Clearly the Twitter account is a star hitter.

This marks the ninth World Series championship for the Boston Red Sox.

See below for a sampling of some of the tweets.

The World Series Championship banner was raised outside of Fenway Park on Monday morning, and the celebration continues at Wednesday morning’s parade in Boston.

The 21-year-old songstress stunned as she took the stage at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles for her first ever AMAs performance, belting out her hit song “Consequences.”

The Cuba native wore a classy pink-and-black ball gown paired with long silky gloves with her dark hair flowing in loose waves.

It didn’t take long for Twitter to go wild over Cabello’s production.

“And again I’m surprised by your voice! Your vocal is wonderful you have a huge talent. I’m proud to be your fan 💗 EU TE AMO @Camila_Cabello,” one commenter wrote.

Another added: “You’re the cutest most talented, brilliant, amazing, incredible girl!! You killed that performance!! It was 100% perfect!! 😍😍 I loved it so much, and didn’t want it to finish.”

“@Camila_Cabello the holy vocals, the orchestra, your beautiful dress… my princess, everything about this performance is just AMAZING. I’m so proud of you 🌹❤ #AMAs,” another tweeter chimed in.

And social media wasn’t alone. Those in the audience — including her pal Taylor Swift — couldn’t help but react with joy to Cabello’s performance.

Cabello, who brought her father as her date to the star-studded event, gushed over her excitement on Twitter leading up to her time on stage. “Let’s do this!!!” she wrote alongside a series of photos earlier in the night. She also added two photos of herself with her dad writing, “my plus one!!!!! aguevoooooo 💞
