Our Girl fans brand Michelle Keegan a ‘hard act to follow’ amid rumours Jacqueline Jossa will replace her

Jacqueline Jossa is being lined up to take over from Michelle Keegan after the actress announced she was leaving Our Girl – but fans say Michelle’s are big boots to fill.

According to The Sun, Jacqueline – who played Lauren Branning for eight years in EastEnders – is keen to follow in the footsteps of fellow soap star and former Our Girl star, Lacey Turner.

An insider revealed, “Jacqueline is keen to replace Michelle on Our Girl and has been encouraged to go for it by her former colleague and pal Lacey.

“And bosses at the Beeb want a mainstream signing and feel the Queen Of The Jungle fits the bill perfectly.

“The series hasn’t yet been greenlit, nor any contracts signed, but she’s in a good position to bag it if it all goes ahead.”

Jacqueline proved extremely popular on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year and went on to beat the likes of Caitlyn Jenner in scooping the title of Queen of the Jungle. So she’d no doubt be a hit with viewers of the military drama.

But fans of the show have hailed former Corrie girl Michelle a “hard act to follow,” saying: “Michelle Keegan is gorgeous she’s a hard act to follow.”

While others were far more supportive of Jac’s potential new job. “Would be nice to see her do a bigger role,” wrote one. While another said, “Good choice.”

Michelle has played Lance Corporal Georgie Lane since the second series of the BBC drama began four years ago, but revealed earlier this year that she wouldn’t be returning.

“I’ve had the most incredible four years on the show,” she revealed to The Sun. “And I want to thank the BBC for giving me such an amazing opportunity.”

The role has taken her all over the world with filming – from South Africa to Malaysia and Nepal – and has decided to spend more time with husband Mark Wright.

Michelle, 32, said, “Playing Georgie has been a life changing role for me. I’ve loved every second of the adventure so it was a very hard decision to make not to return.”

‘Little Women’ Costume Designer Jacqueline Durran on the Oscars, Greta Gerwig, and Radical Victorian Fashion

Karwai Tang/Alpha Press/Alamy

Jacqueline Durran, who designed the costumes in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women, has been nominated for seven Academy Awards. (She won one, for 2012’s Anna Karenina.) When news broke Monday morning that she had garnered yet another accolade, Durran was, in her words, “quite literally” at work in London, on the set of Matt Reeves’ The Batman

“I was walking back from the canteen,” Durran told The Daily Beast. “I didn’t have my phone, but someone walked by and said congratulations. I missed it somehow.”

Despite her track record, Durran said that “it’s always a surprise” to hear the news. “I immediately wanted to know how Little Women had done overall,” she explained. “It was very collaborative, so I wanted to know who else had been recognized, and I wanted to be happy for everyone.”

Nielsen Global Connect Taps Jacqueline D. Woods as New Chief Marketing Officer

Among BLACK ENTERPRISE‘s 300 Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America, marketing veteran Jacqueline D. Woods has been named chief marketing officer of Nielsen Global Connect, which delivers data and tools to consumer packaged goods producers and retailers for innovation and growth. Assuming the role on Dec. 1, Woods will join the executive leadership team, overseeing all aspects of global marketing and helping the firm’s transition into an independent publicly-traded company.

Woods joins Nielsen Global Connect after serving as chief marketing officer for the IBM Partner Ecosystem, which, according to her website, was “responsible for driving marketing and communications efforts for its channel business, with a focus on growing business partner revenue and driving momentum in IBM Cloud and AI technologies.” Her stewardship was responsible for “modernizing the digital marketing experience through execution and enablement of IBM’s 100,000-plus partner ecosystem” and as a result, producing more than $ 13 billion in annual revenues. Moreover, Woods’ utilization of client-centric data and analytics boosted return on investment by roughly 40%.

She joins the company weeks after parent Nielsen Holdings plc, which posted 2018 annual revenues of $ 6.5 billion, announced finalizing its strategic review and planned spin-off of its Global Connect unit, which will now result in two separate publicly traded entities. The other company is Nielsen Global Media.

“I am humbled and excited to join the team as we begin the next chapter of Nielsen Global Connect’s brand story. I look forward to working with Nielsen’s talented team to help shape a smarter market for the rapidly evolving world of global commerce,” she said in a released statement.

“Jacqueline is a marketing powerhouse in the technology sector whose background and experience will help our company accelerate our tech transformation,” Pat Dodd, Global Connect’s chief commercial officer to whom Woods will report, said in a released statement. “We are inspired by her proven success at IBM, Oracle, GE, Verizon and other Fortune 500 companies, and we are looking forward to modernizing our marketing approach under Jacqueline’s guidance.”

It appears that they have selected the right marketing honcho. Prior to serving as marketing chief of IBM’s Partner Ecosystem, Woods, a graduate of the University of California, Davis and an M.B.A. and Merit Fellow from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, oversaw marketing and communications, products and services development and strategy for IBM Global Financing.

In addition to being named one of BE‘s Most Powerful Executives in 2017, she could also be found on BE‘s Most Powerful Women in Corporate America in 2019.

The former EastEnders actress was in floods of tears while laying in her sleeping bag as she realised how far away she was from Dan and their daughters, Ella, four, and Mia, one.

Getting honest about her meltdown, soap star admitted, “I just woke up feeling a bit like ‘mmmm’ when you’re just looking up at pure Jungle and you think ‘wow, I’m so far away from home’.

“The thing is, everyone is missing their families, I just feel like it’s too soon to be crying missing your family…and we all smell so bad, we just stink, I stink, the smelliest I’ve ever been in my life.”

Having watched Jac sobbing on screen, ex TOWIE hunk Dan took to Instagram to share his thoughts.

“Obviously it’s horrible seeing Jac upset because she’s missing the girls, I knew she would miss the girls. But she will be fine, she will get on with it,” he said.

“Talking about it probably helps, it’s nice that she’s got people in there that she can talk to about the kids and share some nice memories with them.”

Despite reassuring Jac’s fans that he has faith in her to stay strong, Dan has revealed he is going to fly out to Australia in support of his wife.

He told The Sun, “I’ll be going out there though, not to go into the jungle but to support Jac.”

When asked if he was worried about being forced to take on a gruelling bush tucker trial, he continued, “Yeah, yeah, but I’d do it. I guess it depends on what it is.”
