Lamar Odom Praised His New Girlfriend And Was Accused Of Bashing Khloe Kardashian In The Process

Lamar Odom recently revealed on Instagram that he has a love in his life. Under a picture of his new lady, personal trainer and life coach Sabrina Parr, he saluted her with a Malcolm X quote.

“It’s just like when you’ve got some coffee that’s too black, which means it’s too strong, what do you do? You integrate it with cream… But if you pour too much cream in it, you won’t even know you ever had coffee. It used to be hot, it becomes cool. It used to be strong, it becomes weak It used to wake you up, now it puts you to sleep.”

The former NBA star was then accused of bashing his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian. Some seemed to think that he was putting Kardashian down while lifting his new lady up. The 39-year-old took to Instagram to clarify that that was not his intention and that he was taken aback by the backlash he received for praising a black woman.

“I’m a bit disappointed to read that people are using my words to enforce their own perceptions and assumptions pointing towards things that are not MY TRUTH OR REALITY,” he captioned under another beautiful picture of Parr. “This post isn’t against anyone including my ex wife that I still respect deeply. I am just PRO love. Can I do that without people feeling offended? Why does that make you mad? Our black women have been held down for centuries! I am now deciding to send them and my NEW WOMAN a lot of love.”

Kardashian and Odom married back in 2009 one month after they met. They divorced in 2016.

Odom has had a tumultuous time during the past decade, battling drug abuse, losing his NBA career and his wife. So it’s heartwarming to see him find love again despite what naysayers feel.

Study: Cannabis Can Reverse the Aging Process in the Brain

Just in case you need another reason to smoke a joint, a study reveals that cannabis may actually reverse the aging process in the human brain.

In the study, which was led by researchers at the University of Bonn in Germany and published in the journal Natural Medicine, scientists found that cannabis helped older mice retain certain cognitive abilities that usually digress with age.

According to the study, older mice were given a small amount of THC, the main active ingredient in cannabis, over a period of four weeks. In turn, the mice regressed to the mental state of a two-month-old mouse. On the other hand, younger mice who were exposed to THC performed slightly worse on tests that measured their memory, behavior, and ability to learn.

“[The] results reveal a profound, long-lasting improvement of cognitive performance resulting from a low dose of THC treatment in mature and old animals,” the study reports.

Andras Bilkei-Gorzo, a neuroscientist who participated in conducting the study, told Voice of America that they were bedazzled by their findings. “The treatment made the young brain old and the old brain young. So, that was something that was above our imagination,” Bilkei-Gorzo said, as reported by voanews.com.

This scientific discovery could help researchers find ways to slow down or even reverse the cognitive aging process of humans. It may also lead to a medical breakthrough when it comes to treating age-related diseases like dementia.

“Cannabis preparations and THC are used for medicinal purposes,” the study reports. “They have an excellent safety record and do not produce adverse side-effects when administered at a low dose to older individuals. Thus, chronic, low-dose treatment with THC or cannabis extracts could be a potential strategy to slow down or even to reverse cognitive decline in the elderly.”

Hearing and deaf infants process information differently

Deaf children face unique communication challenges, but a new study shows that the effects of hearing impairment extend far beyond language skills to basic cognitive functions, and the differences in development begin surprisingly early in life. Researchers have studied how deaf infants process visual stimuli compared to hearing infants and found they took significantly longer to become familiar with new objects.

NASA tested its huge Mars 2020 parachute and broke a world record in the process

mars 2020 parachute

It should go without saying, but sending a rover to Mars is a challenging endeavor. Lots of things have to go perfectly right in order to pull it off, and one thing that can’t be overlooked is the parachute. Once the spacecraft reaches the planet and begins plunging towards the surface, slowing it all down becomes the top priority, and that’s a tall order when the rover itself weighs over 2,300 pounds.

Recently, NASA tested different parachute candidates, one of which will eventually give the Mars 2020 mission a nice soft landing on the Martian surface. It was called the Advanced Supersonic Parachute Inflation Research Experiment (ASPIRE), and it broke a world record.

Jason Garrett ‘talked about thought process’ behind OT punt with Jerry Jones

FRISCO, Texas — At the day-after analysis of the Dallas Cowboys’ 19-16 overtime loss to the Houston Texans, coach Jason Garrett on Monday explained his decision to punt on the first possession of overtime to owner and general manager Jerry Jones. After the game, Jones was critical of the decision to punt at the Houston 42 since the Cowboys did not regain possession and lost on a 36-yard field goal by Ka’imi Fairbairn with 1:50 to play in overtime. "We were being outplayed there, not out-efforted but we were outplayed," Jones said Sunday. "But it’s time for risk at that particular time. That’s not second-guessing, but we were taking some risk too at certain points in the game." After the game, Garrett defended the decision because he was relying on a defense that forced three punts, created two turnovers and gave up just two field goals in the second half. On Monday, Garrett relayed the message to Jones during their Monday meeting. "We…
